Though Ares couldn't quite dodge the waves of electricity that surged across the ice from his opponent's hooves, he was able to get far enough away where the electricity wasn't powerful enough to fully paralyze him.

"Continue with dig!"

The vulpix obediently followed his trainers orders, summoning fire power to aid him in tunneling under his opponent once more, swiftly moving through the ground and bursting out of the ice where he hoped to strike his opponent.

Ares used the same trick to dodge the thunder wave once more, skittering across the ice as fast as he could to get to the weakest point of the wave. Static clung to his body but it couldn't do any more harm than make his fur stand on end.

Time to up their power now that they had a bit of a lead in this battle. "Howl!" Clyde commanded. Ares raised his head and let loose a loud howl.

Ares couldn't outrun this electrical attack, and braced himself for the strike; electricity rushed over his body and he yelped. The attack quickly subsided and he scratched at the icy surface of the ground, burrowing in it once more. The fox slunk through the underground and burst through the surface where he hoped his opponent would be once more.

Ares' claws gripped the ice as he slowed to a stop near his opponent. A flash, boom, and he was enveloped in electricity again. It hurt, but he could tell he was hurting his opponent more. He dove underground once more.

"Heh, yeah it was a good match," Clyde said, and called Ares to him with a gesture of his hand. The vulpix obediently bounded over and proudly waited at his master's heels. He had won! The fox wasn't inclined to express happiness so outwardly, but he couldn't help but want to wag his tails.

Clyde rubbed the top of his pokemon's head and waved to the other trainer as he exited the stadium
