xxº• Adelia, who had been staring at the male with her wide, innocent amber eyes, blinked and shuffled her gaze. Her eyebrows knit into a small, delicate frown, as she watched him with suppressed surprise. He was there to retrieve something? For some reason he seemed awfully shook up and distracted. Was there perhaps something else happening? She clutched her arm softly, and waited for him to stop rambling before she spoke. What was he talking about? "Coffee?" She blinked. Was this some kind of a joke? Did the heavens send down some sort of devilry to trick her?! She cleared her throat in her head. No, of course not. That would be preposterous. After careful study of the creature, who seemed to be watching her with sharp interest, her eyes widened. "Ahhh, you're Cathis Illica." She smiled softly. Her smile suddenly widened greatly as it overtook her entire face. She opened the door wider for him to enter, and once he did she slammed the large door shut behind him with a large, metal clank. She half-expected Koharu to emerge from the shadows and immediately be on the defensive, but she knew better. She expected that would not deter the male, but even so she thought it wise that he stay out of sight. "My name is Adelia, it's a pleasure to meet you. Is there something I can help you with? People usually don't wander around these parts unless they have a death wish or a duty to fulfill." She thought maybe he was there in regards to the prince and princess, but she knew now he wasn't Moreau so he didn't pose a major threat to them. Even so, she was a protector. So she'd protect. She waited patiently for an answer from him, it was a rather strange turn of events that a vampire from an almost dead clan turn up at their door. She sensed it was important, otherwise he probably wouldn't have bothered, and if she didn't know any better she would have thought he had no idea the monarch were alive and well. •º

Cathis Ilica
Last of the Ilica Bloodline

Cathis laughed nervously at her response to his question, what a fool he had been to ask her out when he was on business. Fortunately, she seemed to know of him and he brushed the thoughts aside, still racing against the flurry of his thoughts as he kept his eyes on her. He had never, in truth, seen a Nephilim before. Adelia, as she called herself, an obvious translation from a name that was perhaps more ethereal in her native language, would be his first angelic figure over the span of his long life. It was no wonder he acted so foolishly in her presence. His lifelong aspiration was to eventually become a seraphim, and if everything worked out, his goal would be realized. He would become the first to rise into the ranks of the divines from humanity (or rather vampirism). His goal was not of personal interest so much as it was foretold by the witches he had spent time with, but it did not stop him from trying to fulfill this prophecy.

Despite his familiarity with angelic figures from texts, visions, and his studies, meeting Adelia was a whole new experience for him. He had never felt infatuation in the past, yet it came so naturally to him now. Perhaps it was her divinity that had caused him this conflict of emotion. Surely the immediate thoughts of infatuation would cease to an end with time. No they won't, just look at her. He looked at her and almost fell down again, deciding it would be best to just look onward and hide his fluttering heart. "Yes in fact, you see...there is an artifact that was traced to the location of the Matkovic Castle and..." He paused in the middle of his sentence and dared to look over again. Her eyes entranced him and he stopped in the hall, "...it might take awhile to make use of this artifact, if you would be willing to allow me use of it. Could I stay at this castle until I find out how to use it?" This was only half a lie. The conversion process would certainly take awhile, but he could just as easily do it at a tavern or an inn. Usually he would have preferred the latter over the castle, but he didn't want to spend a second away from Adelia. He sincerely hoped that his request would be accepted, let alone that permission to use the artifact be accepted. Nothing was certain, but he knew he wanted to stay here.

Condemned Memoir

❤Anneliese Mira Jovanic❤

She stared intently at the man, watching his every move closely but still had a way of giving off a calm look about it, as if she wasn't very interested. If he was a fool she could easily figure out things about him and more, but she wasn't very curious about all that much at the moment and she could tell he was far from a fool, he just seemed like the type of man that knew what he wanted in life and was possibly capable of taking it if it wasn't handed to him. "I suppose it's the interest of finding thing out for yourself and not just going by rumors and other things people say about this place. It doesn't seem all that dead, I mean the brothel seems to be up and running well by the looks of it" she smirked a bit as it reminded her that she met the prince not too far from that location. Made her wonder if he was a regular customer to such a place, wouldn't be all that surprising though.
Anneliese began walking up to Dexter she stopped when they were just a few inches apart. Her arms were crossed but a smile remained on her face but when he mentioned the clan she was involved with her eyes seemed to widen just a bit out of surprise. Her clan was known just like any other royal clan but it was one that others knew little to nothing about because of the low profile they kept, even with other kingdoms which others found odd but it was just their way of life. The less people knew about them the better, of course it always poked at everyone's curiosity but what could they do about it? It was never wise to start issues with a family, a kingdom you knew nothing about and they assumed thats what kept them protected most of the time. "Oh so you know of my family? I must say i'm a bit surprised but not entirely shocked. I suppose you can understand my reasons though"

"For a second I actually cared..."

xxº• He stared back, becoming highly amused now. It was almost like some kind of contest, who'd look away first. He was extremely confident that she wouldn't. It was just a ubiquitous vibe that radiated from her, that she never backed down, the lioness of the pack. She probably had no trouble telling people what to do, but whether or not it was a power she abused he wasn't all that sure, really. He nodded at her response. It was nice to meet someone with their own brain for once, she seemed very capable of looking after herself and marching to the beat of her own drum... Those were the people he meshed best with, he didn't exactly have a good stance with authority or anyone who tried to tell him what to do through force. If he respected the person, sure. He had his limits... He chuckled at her joke, smiling so his two, marble fangs were visible. Shaped slightly differently from vampire fangs, but most people usually couldn't tell that. "Oh yeah, it certainly is. Haven't visited it yet," He replied with an impish and somewhat charming grin. That would probably imply a sleazy attitude on his part, but unfortunately for him that was just his demeanor and it wouldn't kill him to play around a little. He probably wouldn't even go at all, but he was certain he'd check out all the local bars and taverns before he left. Duty calls.

As she walked up to him, he simply watched her with his eyebrow slightly raised, mirroring her smile. He noticed the subtle change in her features, and it seemed he had managed to catch her out if only by a little. He tilted his head slightly, listening as she spoke. He hesitated, then clicked his tongue. "Well, not exactly." He began, ruffling his hair with his hand languidly. He stifled a yawn. He didn't like sleeping all that much, not that he couldn't, duty usually didn't allow it. He simply had too much energy, but even after a while it slowly begins to deplete. "I don't think I've been in your kingdom. Knowledge tends to grow overtime, but I understand your reasons for discretion. At least now I know who you are." He finished with a grin, head tilted even more. Suddenly, a thought occurred to him. "I take it you've never been in Moreau, either? It was the general consensus that your clan generally like to keep to themselves, but really that's more respectable. In my opinion, anyway. Never been a fan of flashy vampires."•º

Raven De Moreau; King of the Moreau Faction

((Herp de derp, being super late with these posts.))

As he was leaving, blade in sheath and a random piece of the Matkovic's prized jewelry in hand, he stiffened. Some sweat was about to break out on his forehead. Three loud raps against a door, the door opening, and, what made all of this worse, was the fact that the sounds started from a dulled mumble were becoming clearer. He hissed under his breath, hoping that the woman didn't catch his scent. He sniffed his under arms almost comically; No, he still smelt like cologne and blood; Of which, the entire castle smelt of.

But, he digressed and stepped into the shadows. The conversation was understandably clear, of a prized relic traced to this castle. He shivered, trying to old in a laugh. Interesting; and now, where is this 'relic'. He growled under his breath, his golden eyes piercing the shadows ensnaring themselves around him. "It almost feels bad spying on them."

xxº• As Cathis replied, she nodded slowly, amber eyes focused on him. He was certainly interesting, she wasn't expecting him to be as... Liquid with his emotions, as some of the older ones were. She somewhat half what expected him to be as cold as stone, but she tended not to judge, since she was living proof of not being something you're supposed to be. Even when his eyes lingered away, she stared back at him, a little curious. He did have strange antics, perhaps it was her? Or about this relic he had mentioned. She pursed her lips. "Artifact? Is it to do with your clan perhaps? Or just a personal study?" She asked, putting her best professional face forward. Her eyes flickered in the direction of the stairs, and she glanced back at him, something hard in her eyes. "I'm not sure that's a good idea. However, I can help you find what you're looking for in the meantime. Any details you can give me?" She asked, a number of relics had been recovered in the house, mainly down in the basements and such. If it was something, she probably had it.

She blinked, her angel senses tingling. In that split moment, she couldn't help but wonder where Ayana and Kei were, probably still out and about in the forest. But still. She glanced towards the door, and her mouth suddenly contorted into a devious smile. Ahhh, she knew what was going on. She glanced back to Cathis, concealing nothing of the sort. "Why don't you wait in here and I'll join you in a moment?" She asked sweetly, indicating to the side study in a separate room filled with chairs, clattered bookshelves and other things in wooden boxes. She smiled sweetly at him, and she would wait until he left before she moved towards the window. She decided to have a little fun. She peered out, her yellow eyes piercing through the shadows that dare not look her in the eye. She was fully aware the Moreau were still in the kingdom, but unfortunately she couldn't sense any further than the forest. Her senses were extremely accurate, much better than Dexter's, assuming he was skulking around the kingdom... It was hard for her to miss something. She grinned at the shadows, and pulled a large, wine colored drape across the windows, ones she was gotten during the prince and princesses slumber. She quite liked them. She was certain Koharu might know something was up, infact she counted on it. She couldn't be deceived. As she walked, she glanced behind her with a smirk. She followed Cathis into the study, and motioned him to take a seat. "Now," she said crossing her legs. "tell me about this artifact, sir Cathis." •º

Cathis Ilica
Last of the Ilica Bloodline
Cathis casually walked forward into the study, spinning a globe lightly with his hand, brushing his leg against an overly-soft piece of furniture. He approached a chair in the corner of the room and sat down, making himself at home inside the estate for the time being. He knew that his presence here was a mystery, but a well-received one. as far as he was concerned, the Matkovics were a relatively respectable family. He was more familiar with the family many centuries ago when there was a code that they had followed, but from rumors he had discerned that the code had long been forgotten and the humans were free game in the area. It was none of his concern and he was well-received by the guardian of the estate, so he kept his mouth closed on the matter. He preferred not to trust idle gossip anyway, as he would make his own conclusions shortly. Cathis addressed the fair Nephilim before him, still unable to get past her appearance, "Truth be told milady, I hardly have a clue what this artifact looks like. Do not confuse me for a fool, for I know exactly what the artifact is and rather well what the artifact does. The peoples of Europe call it an item of legend, the Eye of Belhazareth. The tales are of a great demon that keeps the gates between the realm of Divinity and Chaos, his eye lost to a deceiver who wished to see the dichotomy of good and evil the same way we would differentiate color from each other. I know the item is here, but its shape I do not know... legends say it does not choose one form and will appear differently to all people. It does not sit where one places it, but can be found only by surprise. In order to attain it, one must not expect to find it. Yet I know it is here and it may take awhile for me to find it due to the reasons above..." He paused, hovering his hand above a book as whispers began to emanate from betwixt the pages.

The book began to hover under his hand, turning towards the angelic figure before him and opening up, flipping pages until it rested on a page of arcane symbols that were ever-changing. "This, my dear, is the Aetheriah, belonging to the witches that occupy the reaches beyond the arctic. Forgive me if the language is too far from your memory, but it is the language of your type. It reads:
'To he that wake the Aether's call
A scripture born of blood and void
To all that hold the secrets in
He hangs the weight of their demise
But should he vex those devils' minds
Divine destruction will ensue
And free the doomed within the void
Return alas the judgment's coil
That cuts the few eternal strands
Those permanent e'erlasting bonds
And free the seraph caught within
He that wake the Aether's call.'

Forgive me if my translation does your language no justice, I assure you the words are far more beautiful in your language, but I lack the golden tongue to speak it."
He studied her face for a moment and sighed, "I must be forward with you, I am entirely infatuated with your race..." He twitched his fingers and the book gently closed on the arm of his chair, "...perhaps you would spend the day with me and we could know each other better. What say you?"

Lucian Matkovic

"Do you remember the story of Little Red Ridding Hood?"

Lucian was pleased with Ayana in many different ways. Smirking a bit, he nipped at Mihr's ear. "Don't worry, my dear. My pet will be properly trained before I let her free." he assured his niece, nodding slightly at the news of his nephew was in the castle. He will go to visit him next, but Mihr was a priority at the moment because of her behavior. As Ayana left, he still held Mihr close and unyielding.

"Now then, who told you that you could pick up a sword and threaten my family? Hmm? I know I certainly didn't give you permission. Your warnings are unnecessary as well, lucky for you my family is much more well mannered than I am. They appreciate their food more often than not. But seeing as how they just woke up, they are quite hungry and you are not to get in the way of their hunts. You will not approach my niece with that warning again and you will be polite next time you see her, as well as to my nephews." he stated into her ear darkly.

"If you do not follow my words, not only will I kill the old woman, I'll torture her. Make her bleed to the point of fainting just to heal her and do it all over again. She will suffer for the rest of her life. Are you going to break your oath after so many years with me just to protect the humans and have even more humans suffer as a result of your disobedience? Hmm? This land belongs to my family alone, I will not hunt in these lands so that I don't make trouble for them, but they are free to do as they wish. Also, if you are so keen on not listening to me, I'm also allowed to do the same to you as I have planned for that old woman, except much worse. Do not test me my dear angel." With that, he let her go with at challenging and amused smirk on his face as he watched her for a moment. The angel had to do what he said as per their agreement a few centuries ago, while his family was still asleep. If he did not massacur entire villages, and kept most of his food alive if he decided to hunt, then she would be his food, entertainment and amusement, and she was to do anything and everything he said. He could do whatever he wanted with her, including kill her if she disobeyed him.

Turning to head to the castle, he called over his shoulder. "If you feel like behaving now, you can follow me and meet my nephew." And then he disappeared into the trees.

"A wolf didn't kill her... the one who did was me...the wolf just got the credit."
