Ah, dollfies <3 I've wanted one since forever but they're just so expensive ): This one is my personal favorite; I'd love to buy one just like it but I have no idea what model it is :<

Sorry to double-post, but I know which model that is! It's an SD10 Four Sisters head; that means if you buy either an SD10 Megu, Kira, Sara, or Nana, you will get that head. 3nodding They're very pretty and versatile and are some of the most popular dolls out there.

I hope I was helpful! sweatdrop

If you still like them but want a cheaper or smaller one, you can always look into the Unoa Light models by Gentaro Araki (I think that's his name?). They're 11 cm tall and you build and paint them yourself, but they're absolutely darling when they're assembled. I think they go for two hundred dollars. If you want an even less expensive alternative, you could buy an actual Dollfie (not Super); the limited ones I believe go for under $100, so the unlimited models can't be too expensive. 3nodding They're quite small, though, in comparison to a Super Dollfie. If you're looking for that size doll, the cheapest you can probably get is a Dollfie Dream. They're made of vinyl, not resin, and have a more "mature" sculpt, but they're still very pretty and are made by Volks. whee

It stands for "doll" and "figure" combined. There's also a running joke that the kanji it's written in really means "Dollarfie", but I don't think that's true. sweatdrop

I think they're beautiful, but I could never spend $800 or more on a doll. Maybe that's considered odd, but I save my money like crazy to get stuff that means a lot to me, like my laptop, or a trip to Japan, or manga. Spending that much on a little doll is just a bit much for me...

Personally, I'd rather make my own dolls then buy them. But I have no clue how to make a proper dollfie, and there are no classes nearby that teach such skills. At least, not that I know of. That's why I make plushies (Well, am planning to make plushies) instead.

To you guys who want a dollfie and are willing to save up the money to buy one, good luck! They really are beautiful, so I understand the interest 3nodding

These dolls are really, really hard to make, and take a really long time to sculpt, make a mold, cast, string, and customize. They're made of high-quality resin, which I hear is very costly, and while people have made them out of sculpey, they've been rather misformed and very fragile. whee

Good luck with your plushies, though! Those are hard to do too if you do it properly, so I hope it works out for you! 4laugh

Heh, my husband gonked at me when I recently bought my $80 Pullip, Rovam.

I prefer to pour my disposable cash into Pinky:st. figures.

To all you kids whose mom would buy them Dollfies, please make sure I'm added to Santa's list, too. razz

Thanks. They are rather difficult to make, but luckily I have patterns (Some made by me from scratch, some made by me based on other patterns, some made by others) to help me! Thank gods for patterns, eh? I've got friends to help me if I need it, though their sewing skills are as bad as mine. But I'll just struggle through it and hope it turns out.

Well, he gonked cos neither of us are employed right now, heh. razz (But I have savings)

Yeah, I just couldn't resist her and her pirateness. pirate

The best place to buy Pinky:st. figures is http://www.hlj.com They only charge retail, and if you choose SAL, it's not too expensive on the shipping side, either. Stuff is sent direct from Japan (Gunma, specifically). I now live in MN and it takes about 2-3 weeks on average for my stuff to get here.

Yeah.. My army of cuteness has umm.. greatly expanded since the last time I posted a pic.. (^_^;;
