The blue egg was the first to shift within the sanctity of the hardy, shallow wooden box the final three eggs were nestled in. It didn't take long for the creature within to shatter the shell. An inquisitive pair of soulful blue eyes peered around before its wide mouth opened in a low, braying cry.

The noise caused the smaller, neighboring pinkish egg to wibble slightly, a low, muttered noise erupting from the egg - though it seemed it wasn't quite ready to break free yet.

The little hatchling let out a small trill before moving over to perch almost protectively over the smaller, pink egg - and only then did he make a sing-song noise, all the while eyeing the handlers hungrily.

CHA: 7 (5 + 2)

Personality: Cesili's wher is quite dexterous in the air. He's also very vocal, and not just through telepathy. This wher seems to enjoy 'talking' and 'singing' - or maybe he just likes hearing the sound of his own voice. At this age, it's hard to say. Perhaps he'll outgrow it, or maybe he won't.

Despite his dexterity, this wher is as clumsy as they come while he's on the ground. This will become a daily challenge for his handler, and precautions will have to be made so that he doesn't end up hurting someone - or himself. For now it will not likely be an issue, but as he grows larger...

...and he will be large. Very large, indeed - this wher will grow to be the size of a small brown.

Overall, this blue is a rather jolly little bloke who doesn't seem to mind the foul things in life so long as he has a full belly and the adoration of his handler. He might not be the smartest, the prettiest, or the most charismatic, but this boy is genuinely sweet and a joy to be around.

...he also seems to feel rather protective over whatever is in that pinkish egg...

The topaz egg was next to hatch, the average-sized blue within flaring its wings immediately - only to fall over as he became a little too overzealous in his movements. The movement caused him to jostle against the pinkish egg - which, in turn, caused Cesili's wher to let loose a warning sound.

The freshly hatched blue only opened his mouth in a charming little wher-smile before he rocked back on his haunches, licking his chops with a quick, green tongue.

DEX: 8
INT: 10

CHA: 15 (13 + 2)

Personality: This wher is one of the showiest whers you will ever meet. Everything he does is done with flair and panache, even if he fails spectacularly at what he's attempting to do. He's also on the smarter side of stupid, as far as wher intelligence goes, and while he cannot form complete trains of thought and long, intricate sentences at this point in his life, the potential is there should his handler work at communicating with this fancy, flaunty little thing.

He loves to dance, he loves to fly, he loves to sing. He also loves color, and often steals tidbits of clothing and scraps of cloth, pretty rocks and colorful plants and hides them away - nearly always forgetting where he's placed them. These objects will almost certainly be found by his handler in the oddest places.

Overall, this little man is flashy and exuberant, a showoff with little shame and a general good attitude even if things do go awry.

As if waiting to be the last wher to hatch, the green broke free from her shell with a shimmer of flashy green and a demure look in her pretty eyes. Nudging away from the first-hatched blue, she did not hesitate to make her space her own. Folding her tail comfortably around her feet, the green sat prettily before turning her attention to those who watched.

STR: 9 (10 - 1)
CON: 7 (8 - 1)
DEX: 14 (12 + 2)
INT: 12
WIS: 11
CHA: 12

Personality: Graceful, delicate, and small - very small - this little green is more dainty than sickly. She's quick and agile in the sky: though she doesn't have the stamina to fly for terribly long distances, this pretty little girl loves to be in the sky. She swirls, she twirls, she dips and dives - this leads to terrible bouts of exhaustion once she's finished. It won't take long for her to recoup, and once she does, she's in the air again.

This wher will do best with some kind of job that keeps her interest and utilizes the uncanny intelligence she has.

Leci's wher is quite the little lady, very intelligent for a wher and quite capable of 'using her words' - unlike her blue brother. However, she is not hesitant in speaking for him should the need arise.

Overall, this wher is polite and charming, agile both in the sky and on land with an intelligence that most whers do not possess.

Conscious of how these things were supposed to go, B'shir was relieved to note that there were pails filled with chopped wherry meat available for those who had not had the foresight to bring their own. Come to think of it, B'shir wondered if that one girl had been carrying around a bowl of raw meat all day, and how she'd managed to keep the flies off of her if she had. He also wondered if she would have the wherewithal to shove her hand into the slimy bowl and pull out the meat to feed the blue beast.

Or was it green? B'shir frowned mentally at the large hatchling that was already crouched protectively over one of the three eggs. With that mottled hide, it wouldn't have been easy to say exactly what color the beast thought it was, except for the fact that it was really pretty large. B'shir figured it was most likely a blue. And a talkative one, at that. He really hoped that whichever girl had purchased the blue egg would feed her wher soon, before it began to shriek.

The young Wher was making some very pretty noises. Gently shifting her bowl of wherry meat in her arms, Cesili took a breath in, and let it out slowly, intent on making sure she could feed her....rather large blue friend. Stepping forwards, she whistled softly to him, getting the blue-eyed Wher's attention. Her fingers gently dug into the bowl, and the rather pretty girl, to her credit, didn't even shudder as she slowly offered a piece of meat out to her wher. Her gaze flicked to B'shir for a moment, noticing that he seemed to be watching them. Shrugging it off, she walked even closer, "Hello sweet one." She murmured happily to him, "I bet you're hungry, aren't you, little hatchling? Come now. Eat up."

The offered morsel was quickly snatched up in the noisy blue's mouth, drawing him away from the small green, and closer to his new handler. Soft trills and croons came from the male as he stared at her, whirling blues watching her from those mottled sockets, "You really are hungry, hm? That's okay. I brought plenty for you, and my sister." Gently taking another piece, she offered it to him, before turning to her twin, "You can take some wherry meat, Leci. I brought enough."

Once he had observed that at least one of the teenagers had some idea of what she was doing, B'shir maneuvered so that he'd be closer to the blue that had emerged from his topaz colored egg. Not as large as the first blue, but apparently put together all right. Nothing obviously wrong with him.

"Hey, you," B'shir murmured to the blue, instinctively reaching for the hatchling with his mind as he had used to do with the dragons he'd been raised with. "Food?"

Whether the blue understood the sounds B'shir was making was a matter of debate, but the introduction of new sounds got his attention enough that he stopped watching the meat Cesili was offering her blue and turned to lurch forward and snatch a portion of wherry from B'shir's fingers. Experience made B'shir quick at evading the sharp teeth as they snapped shut and the blue gulped his meal down.

With surprising patience B'shir folded his legs beneath him and began feeding the brilliant blue at a regular pace which was perhaps a little bit too slow for the hatchling, but not likely to allow it to choke itself. Meanwhile he continued to talk to the infant, warning it that it would probably have been happier if it hadn't hatched at all because he was bound to be a shitty caretaker and occasionally speculating on its intelligence, but all in the same low and warm voice.

When will you speak? B'shir wondered, making an effort to send the thought into the wher's mind.

It took everything Leci had to keep from squealing at the tiny green that clawed her way out of the pinkish shell. She was so - so little, and cute and fragile-looking! Thanking her sister profusely, she took some of the proffered meat for her little green, dropping to her knees and cooing over the little cutire. "Hello! It's nice to meet you, pretty girl, I bet you're hungry! You want something to eat?"

The little green's response was an eager honk and a step forward, clearly begging for food. Leci continued crooning at her until she took the morsel - daintily, yet no less quickly than her clutchmates, and whirling eyes watched Leci for another bite. She was hungry, so so so hungry! Giving out a honk, the little green sniffed at Leci's hands, impatient for more food. Fortunately, Leci was quick to stuff more to eat in her mouth before her fingers became wher-chomped.

"Our whers, Cesi," she said, bright eyes gleaming. "Our pretty perfect little whers!"
