"Good boys." Sam smirked, the words clearly meant for both parties interested. It felt nice to have the keys, but that's because she always did. Always, and eventually. "Now, let's take this place somewhere a little private, oh, I got a great idea: let's pay a visit to my office!"

She lead the way, giving a nod, a finger shake, a few exchanges to Hunters passing by, remarking to a Moon Hunter 'Call me later so we can catch up hun' before she made it to her office. Her "office" being a very ordinary room with a single metal table hooked up and two metal chairs. Sam took one of the chairs and gestured to Nuru the other: clearly someone else would be standing.

"Hang on," She fished in her purse for a half-open pack of cigarettes, performing her daily ritual. "All right, as I was talking about, this Insanity thing. Now, we, or I now, have the cure to it, that's right, you wish it and I'll grant it. The thing is," She leaned back a bit, to emphasize the point, "I really have no reason to help you. We just can't go around handing cures to everyone who wanted it, that stuff is very expensive for us to make, if you catch my drift."

Nuru couldn't help it, his tail began to wag wildly at the 'good boys' remark. He was a good boil. The best. He smiled just a bit as he followed after Sam, someplace private? That sounded more and more... EEK. He gave the metal furniture a questioning tilt of the head. Two chairs and a table? But there was three of them, did that mean the table was for hi- whew. Okay. Good.

He gladly took the seat and slouched into it. Watching her fiddle with her weird papery mouth sticks for a moment before she spoke again. Money? But... "Ah haven' got anneh moneh...," Nuru's ears tucked a little tighter to his head as they lowered. Maybe she would take credit? The ears flicked ever so slightly as he gave her the most pitiful look he could muster. This almost always worked with Zar.

Oh.. so he was standing.

:I

Otto was less than thrilled. Actually he was livid. Gritting his teeth behind a tight lips, he simply stood to the side. He'd observe and learn, but not happily. He felt like a third wheel, and chances were he was. But if he was ever going to do more for Deus than paper work, he'd need to know how the... experts did things.

b***h.

He could already see where this interrogation was going. He wasn't sure how far the kid was willing to go to save his buddy, but chances were this was a path he didn't plan on.

Sam pulled out an ashtray and doused her cigarette. She sighed, pushing some locks of hair back, restraightening her ponytail before deadpanning Nuru with a bored look. "Yeah, that's what they all say, noone has any payment for me these days." A pause. "I'll tell you what, now, I know you're an honest student and I like that, I think it's very kind you care for your friend so very much, so I'm willing to give you a deal. A small one, and I don't do refunds, first come first serve. All I would need is your help. You do some tasks for us, under the watchful eye of Mr. Grouchy over there, and after you're done, you return to me and the cure is all yours. Small favours for a big favour, what do you say?"

Dear Otto: you just got volunteered for puppysitting.

Nuru was so thrilled he sat completely straight and eagerly bobbed his head along, "Yes! Yes! Anythin'!" He was shaking very slightly now. He could keep his promise, he could actually help Zar. This was the most amazing news he could have ever come across and the price? Sounded so small and insignificant. Nuru couldn't help the big smile that overtook his face, it almost hurt it was so big.

He glanced at Otto and then back at Sam, "What do ah do firs'?"

Mr. Grouchy was less than entrused to be playing the part of babysitter. He hated taking care of people. Hated it. But he'd do it, because really it was still experience under his belt. Something to do. Even if a small task, he'd be useful to some degree.

Still...

Gahd Dammat.

Sam relayed everything else with a sort of practiced ease: she was in her element. "Well, this is a very difficult job and you have to promise to keep this all a secret, okay?" Like taking candy from a baby. A really ugly Fear-infested baby, but then again, not everyone could be perfect now could they?

"See, you are the key in saving more than only your friend. Insanity is terrible, but only because it can be contagious, like a disease. We have been trying to gather the sick students together to seperate the Insanity, but they keep on attacking us back despite attempts we have tried at treatment. Most infected, even if they show no physical signs, become delusional and unfortunately paranoid. This is just terrible and really sad. I don't expect you to help us bring the sick here for treatment, no that is too much work, but would you be a sweetie and keep an eye out on your fellow students? Make note of everyone who might be behaving oddly - any sign really could mean they're sick. All you have to do is keep watch, and report your findings to this shortie over there," She pointed to Otto. "It takes exactly one week to prepare a cure, that's one week I'll need you to watch over things for us. If you can't protect them, and they can't protect themselves, then who else will? You are the secret hero."

Nuru looked incredibly pleased, his 'job' was to save people? That's not a job at all! A hero, his destiny. He was sure of it. He offered Sam a very pleased but weary smile. He wasn't sure where to even start aside from his own boilfriend, but he definitely needed to save a lot more people than that. Like a true hero.

"Yes ma'am! Ah'll do it!" It was to be a secret however. He couldn't say anything... not even to Zar? How much can he tell him? Nothing? "Ah can keep it a secret but... what do ah tell mah boilfrien'? He... uh... knows ah came here...? Can ah tell 'im ah foun' t'cure? Like ah promis'd?"

Oh this lady was absolutely fake. Otto felt like he was getting diabetes from the sugary fakeness she was force-feeding. But that damned kid was lapping it up. It was so gross he wanted to puke.

And he is not short! He is vertically impaired!

Otto's arms crossed, tapping his fingers idly on his elbows. Let this meeting end. Dammnit all.

Sam tsk-tsked. "No deal. You tell anyone, you endanger yourself and them. Imagine if they misinterpreted your words and put themselves in danger. If you want to be a hero, it does require playing the part, and that includes making everyone proud of you for doing the right thing in helping them."

Sam pulled out from the drawer underneath her a binder, flipping a few pages over as she ripped out a form. "Now, let's make this official wont we? All you need to do is sign here, a written deal really, nothing serious, and make sure you check in with this short guy over there. He's got nothing better to do and it will be great practice for him to observe our hero in training. You see - everyone wins!"

She handed the paper over complete with ballpoint pen, putting the binde back before turning to Otto. "Well, my work is done. Have fun kids, you know how to wrap this up."

And then, she very much ditched them. Or really, left Otto responsible.

Nuru nodded obediently. He worried about what Zar might think... or ask... or well, even say if he came back empty handed. The barghest wilted just a bit before he was handed the paper. He wondered distantly if he should avoid the demon altogether. Until he had the cure to give him, at least.

Nuru was too distracted with his concerns about Zar to even bother really reading the form as he signed it.

Zar would likely just be in his room, Nuru mused to himself. A clear shot at investigating the other students. Then he'll get the cure. Then he can be the hero and Zar will be all better. And grateful. Nuru offered the paper to Otto and smiled eagerly.

"Ahm ready," except he felt sick. He couldn't lie to his Zar. So he had to stay away at all costs. He hoped the incubus would stay to his room. Like what became his usual. Nuru'd have to run otherwise...

Nothing better to do. So what if that was true! Damn it stung. He wished he had something better to do. He sure had a lot of things he'd rather do, that was for sure.

His face scrunched up at being lumped in as a kid, his nails digging into his folded arms.

He sighed heavily once the woman was gone, turning his icy glare to Nuru. "Welp. Get on it, bub."

Nuru whiiined at the change in Otto's demeanor, but still hopped to his feet, "Do ah go back same way ah came?" He wandered towards the door in the room.

"Yeah.. come on. I'll lead ya back. I'll find a way to contact you later, aight?" Otto tried not to sigh again, and led the way back to the lighthouse.

"Alrigh'," Nuru relaxed again with a light smile as he followed after Otto. Eager to get back home and set right to work. This was jacking awesome.
