"You're sure? You didn't come back up.." Jerry, the one man on the island who could drown in a hot tub. Candace was ready if he fell in again. She'd help him back up if she had to.

"Ahahahaha..." His nervous laughter was cut short by additional coughs as he wobbled back blindly into a seat, "T-took me off guard, just swallowed a little w-water, ahahaha..."

Candace was wary as she relaxed against the wall of the tub again, nodding her head uncertainly. "Okay..as long as you're good. Can you imagine? Jeremy Collins, Sun Hunter, survived the apocalypse, being set fire by a mutant Insanity dragon, and various other deadly missions...dies in the hot tub." She made a very serious face in an effort to mask her amusement over how pathetic such a death would be. "Shame."

"It'd be oddly fitting, ahahahahhaha!" He giggled a bit too vigorously before clearing his throat a few more times, "I don't know what's wrong with me, I just... never was a huge swimmer. I'm lucky I didn't hit the water in that arctic mission-" Being a penguin didn't count.

"Really?" Candace blinked. "When we were together you promised we would go swimming at the beach." Or something like that, anyway. Suddenly she pouted and leaned in close, her head on Jerry's shoulder as she made a pathetic little whining noise of disappointment. "Why would you bring up my hopes like that?"
After a few moments she shrugged. "It's no big deal. Lots of people can't swim well or even swim at all! If it's something you want to do well at, it just takes practice."

He cleared his throat again, but it had nothing to do with the water he had just inhaled. "As f-far as I recall, there ah... wasn't much need for *actual* swimming."

Candace didn't even so much as blush as she sat up and gasped, a hand against her chest and her eyes wide. "Jerry! How could you accuse me of such scandal." He was given a playful swat against his shoulder. "As far as I recall what we did on the beach was a lot more fun than swimming." Candace chuckled and reached out of the tub to grab her towel, drying off her hands so she could fix her hair. She pouted. Now her hair was wet. Damnit.

As he heard her getting out of the pool, he groped along the ledge for where he had left his glasses, "You done already?" He was getting pretty pruney himself.
It was more fun to think about the beach than his pruney fingers.

"Hmmm.." She looked down at her hands. Maybe.. "I could stand a little while longer, but cooling off again might be a good idea." Candace pulled herself out to sit on the tub's edge, her feet still in the water. The towel was wrapped around her as she watched Jerry search blindly for his glasses, plucking them up and putting them on for the man. It was better than watching him flail around for them and possibly knock them away. Candace couldn't exactly explain why she always felt the need to do this when she was with the man.
"We could get a drink or something if you want. Been awhile since we hung out."

His adam's apple bobbed as the world came back into focus, "I'm uh. T-trying to cut back ahahaha... My department head sort of... threatened me-" He hesitated, "But I mean, I'm not on duty now..."

Ah. That was actually very nice to hear aside from the threatening business. Candace smiled. "No problem. There's more to drink aside from alcohol. Should get some water into your system too that isn't super hot." Standing, Candace dried herself off. She'd brought a bag with her, not wanting to walk out of here in wet clothes. "That's good though! The cutting back. I'm glad to hear it. I don't want to get you in trouble.." That was the last thing Jerry needed.

"Ah... right! Yeah ah... juice or something, yeah, sounds good," He shifted up out of the water as well, but had to take a moment to squeeze the water out of the pockets of his trunks.

"And a bit of dinner would be nice too." Candace mused aloud, tossing on a sweater, jeans, and another heavy coat over the sweater. She'd put on something better once she was able to get to her dorm. "I'm not much of a cook but I can whip us up something simple. You cool with that?" She'd take advantage of her kitchen while it was still a kitchen. Though honestly Candace couldn't wait to be able to do her renovations. Maybe she could enlist Jerry to help her. Men were good with building things, right? And tearing things down.

"Oh, ah.. sure! I'll just want to um. Get cleaned up a bit." The only thing he had made in his Kitchen since becoming full hunter were a lot of cups of instant coffee and some mac and cheese.
That sounded... nice.

"That's fine. I'll start making dinner while you get cleaned up then. Take your time~." She'd need the time to prepare. Because Candace kind of hated cooking, and until Molly moved in with her she would be stuck doing it.
Candace gave the man a kiss against his cheek and gathered up her stuff. "See you in a bit!" Giving herself one last check to make sure she would be warm outside, Candace took her leave. She wanted to get a head start on dinner.
Because she volunteered to cook or something she has no idea why.
