Rep had found himself about the narrowest, most dull aisle he could find and was wistfully eyeing rows of pillows but not really seeing any of them. If he wasn't so wrapped up in distress and beating himself up for ruining their shopping trip and being acutely aware of it, he might have been stockpiling them.

Jordan followed with some trepidation. On one hand, it might be better to let Rep come back on his own time; on the other, he was aware that Rep could spend days wallowing in a sulk if left to it. They'd just go check.

Rep had practically buried himself in an aisle as far from the mattresses as he could get. Harrison had been willing to give the guy a little grace. Sometimes Harrison needed a minute to steel himself before doing stupid s**t.
Rep was not taking that moment. He had turned tail.
He looked sad and distant, and overly-preoccupied with weighter matters while he fiddled with pillows.
He was not difficult to sneak up on. It didn't even take much sneaking. Just moving at a relatively fast pace, which Harrison was. They had twelve hours. Harrison planned on using this mattress for a long, long time. They did not have time for moping.
Harrison threaded his finger through the beltloop on the seat of Rep's pants, and tugged him the inch it took to have Rep's back flush against his chest. His other arm hooked around Rep to hold him close, half-hug and half-restraint.
"You had time to think it over?" Harrison growled in his ear.

Rep didn't know what he expected to happen, maybe that his minute would run into hours and he would be picked up when the shopping trip was over, like a kid who wouldn't stop throwing tantrums in the shop. The idea of going back was too insurmountable to even consider, humility was not something that came easy to him, or admitting he had been weak for even an instant. If it meant hiding out here and misery at being left out of the trip then that was how it was going to have to be.
He wasn't expecting anyone to come get him, so anyone who passed nearby was stricken from notice. He didn't even register Harrison until he was tugged back and out of his self-pitying daydream. A sharp intake of breath was about all he managed as fight or flight instincts got tangled up and tripped up in other more immediate ones.
The first instinct was to pull away in surprise, but the startled resistance only lasted a mere instant and his heart wasn't in it. He went limp, leaning back, resigning himself to the hug. It didn't matter if people saw, it wasn't like he had a choice right? Just terrible really, he thought with an edge of his usual dramatics, innocent man, pounced in bed store.
He nodded. Thinking hadn't helped, he'd just made himself worse.
"Aye." he said more feebly than he intended. It became important to think about anything else. "I..I think we need more pillows."

Harrison's instinct had been right after all. Jordan grinned and moved to take the other side of the hug. "I agree, pillow stealer," he said lightly. "At least two more."

"I think," Harrison started, hold still firm, and tone even firmer. He disentangled his fingers from Rep's belt loop, and coiled that arm around Jordan's waist, "that right now, we are mattress shopping."
And with deceptive ease and the practice of someone who had done it before in more dire circumstances than a bed store, hefted both of them over his shoulders as if he was carrying two sacks of flour.
His grip stayed firm.
He headed back down the aisle towards the the mattresses.

Rep found himself very suddenly in the middle of an inescapable hug and already resigned to it, just allowed himself to enjoy the nearness. Maybe he needed a hug. It didn't stop him from blushing in the way only redheads could, bright crimson right down to his throat. It couldn't get any worse, it couldn't. People would see and they would talk, and he...probably wouldn't care that much because having them there was so good.
He was about to protest he wasn't a pillow stealer, he just had significantly higher comfort requirements when he found himself flat out hefted off his feet.
Protesting wasn't even an option, he was just too stunned to even process it.
They were mattress shopping, it looked like.

"Harrison," Jordan said, and propped his elbows on Harrison's back. "There's got to be a better way to pick up guys."

"But there aren't any better guys to pick up," Harrison countered.
They were definitely getting looks now, but Harrison ignored them entirely.
Jordan had been about half-cooperative in the mattress shopping process, looking at the tags and sitting on the edges of beds.
He only stopped when he found the mattress he wanted, pressing one knee into the edge as he lay Rep and Jordan down in the depths of impossible and inescapable softness, too far from the edges to make their way out without a struggle.
He leaned forward over them, still keeping his own balance. A hand sank into the mattress on either side of them, one at Rep's right side, one at Jordan's left.
"Now," he said, the picture of generosity, "What do you think."

At Jordan's comment, Rep found himself absolutely unable to help himself but laugh, a laugh of absolute relief and incredulity. The silliness of it all just threw the world back into focus in a swell of love and affection. Other people didn't matter, they could look on the three of them and wish they had even half of what they had.
He only stopped laughing when he found himself laid down on a bed, eyes going wide as he looked up at Harrison. It was fairly safe to say that for a few moments his mind wasn't quite on mattress assessment.
<William.> Tracey's tone managed to say without the aid of and actual face what a nonplussed expression would.
He slowly blinked, finally registering the bed they were all but trapped in comfort on. Just getting up off this thing would be enormous effort, it would be a terrible encouragement to stay in bed all day and never get anything done.
"I love it."

Jordan grinned up at Harrison. "I think it's got plenty of room," he said, his voice taking on a slightly suggestive curl. "Titanium springs for durability?"

"I thought you would," Harrison replied to Rep, not without tenderness. He raked his eyes over Jordan's neckline.
"We're gonna need a lot of durability," he acknowledged. "Doesn't hurt to check."
He contemplated both of them for a heavy moment, before finally leaning away and releasing the pin. He offered each of them a hand up, then gestured to the next mattress over.
"Jordan and me liked this one. It's iron."

Rep got up from the softness with reluctance. He could have stayed there all day given half a chance, compared to the standard issue squeaky and probably pre-owned beds in the facility, it was like heaven. He needed the hand up, and for whatever reason, that delighted him, a bed you could get lost in was his kind of bed.
Once he was up, he eyed the next mattress - and being a mature and refined adult - took a flying leap onto it.

Jordan accepted the hand up, giving Harrison a soft and grateful smile. Embarrassing mushy things could wait to be said when they were in private. For now ... mattress shopping.
He watched Rep's daredevil mattress dive. "8.2," he pronounced. "Didn't quite stick the landing."

Harrison kept Jordan's hand, leading him down onto the mattress Rep had just piledrived. Once they were on the bed, mostly of their own accord, Harrison joined them, settling in between to look at the ceiling again.
This time without any trace of gloominess.
"It's on account of it being real ******** springy."
