The baku stuck close to her friend, her gaze wary as she weaved through horsemen and students alike. Although Xiu could not claim that she was particularly fond of the horseman--though some of them had been quite pleasant to her--she was quite fond of some of the students who had become initiates. Thus, it was only natural that she asked Alex to let her accompany him when she heard that Medea intended on gathering them together. Just what was that priestess planning? Although she did not have anything against her, Xiu could not claim that she completely trusted her either.

Her ears perked up a little when Alex addressed her, and she offered the zomboil a weak smile and a nod, absently lifting a hand to toy with the necklace she wore. "I'm...okay. A little nervous...but perhaps not as much as you seem to be. Are you okay?" She noticed his anxiety with a concerned frown, lifting a hand and resting it briefly on his shoulder before she tore her gaze away to glance at the other students.

"It doesn't look like that I'm the only non-initiate student here though," She added with a murmur, noting that Shun and Belladonna were here too. Just what was going on?

Zhi blinked blankly at Jing, and slowly lifted one of his hands to mimic the gesture. For a minute, it was just the two conquest horsemen staring at one another and wagging a finger at one another.

Then Zhi abruptly whipped his arm to the side in an attempt to smack his fellow clansman with his sleeve. Whistling brightly, he turned away to focus his attention back to the others, but paused when he realized that Mmur was there with Ying.

...Ah...ahaha... "...Hi?" He offered, staring at the pair with a face that could only be properly described with an emoticon: (☉Д☉)

It was at that moment that he noticed the rather unusual exchange between Senga and Jay. He strained to peer back at the horsewoman on his shoulders, then to Senga, and then back to Jay. Why did they seem so...distant? A fight? After a moment of furrowing his brows in thought, he decided the logical thing to do would be move forward so that Jay and Senga could speak to one another more easily.

Which also meant pressing up closer to Shik but whatever, man.

"I am behaving!" Tseng objected while placing his hands onto his hips. His cheeks puffed up a bit, but then he got past that as other things caught his attention. For one, he enjoyed the talk of maiming the pests that were hunters.

A little longer, and Shun soon saw that Xiu had decided to come here as well. But why? She had power now. Well. Supposedly. Unless that thing around her neck didn't really do much of anything. He supposed that was completely possible.

"Oh. I see." The answer was quick and short; just like Senga. The jabberjay would have brushed off the response, but the bluejay flinched. It was a tiny shudder that most wouldn’t catch. The corner of Jay’s lips twitched as she hugged Zhi tighter and directed her gaze away from her childhood friend. That hadn’t gone as expected, but Senga was Senga. He would come around eventually. But for now, she would bear with his silly game. Ares knows how many times the pair had done something like this already.

But then Zhi thought it apt to walk even closer to Shik. She was jostled slightly, but retained her balance. “Zhizhi,” she hissed, leaning over to stare the soldier in the face. Jay frowned. “What’s that for?”

Xiu jumped a little at her name, but was relieved upon realizing that it was just AJ. Breathing out a quiet sigh of relief, she offered the boil a small smile and a little dip of her head. "Hi, AJ. And, ah..." The smile faded, slowly replaced by an uncertain frown as she shook her head, "I'm sorry, I'm not entirely sure what's going on either."

She honestly didn't know all that much when it came to the plans of the horsemen. The baku had only really wanted to tag along to ensure that Alex, Mort, and the other initiates weren't getting themselves into anything dangerous. At this thought, she pressed her lips into a thin line.

"Just...be careful, okay AJ? Be sure to stay with other students."

Lan folded her arms into her robes, eyes roaming the crowd gathering. Horsemen? She paid no mind. Initiates? She would no pay them no mind? Students. She would snort if such a thing were dignified. Still, she would have to give them no mind as well. Medea wanted them to reach out, and sadly, Lan was still a little bad at reaching past the mindset of ‘tools’. Or if she was in an off mood, ‘pests’. Of course the halloweeners had their uses but until they carried the mark? Lan didn’t care much for them. They would be fodder. Just meat shields. Things to take a fall as needed. She did not like having a need of them. Needing something so weak, so young, it was still a bitter pill she had yet to completely swallow.

Medea asked them to pick their paths yet Lan knew her’s. She’d been walking it and while the route might have changed, her path was still her own, she’d not leave it. As horsemen began to mingle, Lan looked to the rather large group… And to Zhi flapping his sleeves. With a Jay on his shoulders. Was he… trying to fly? Lan paused and debated it. Hopefully not. For now she’d just watch them.

Gene,Tybalt and Mei would find a certain Wolfos coming from behind them, red eyes focused not on them but on the horsemen around them. Frost had been wary of the horsemen for a good while. He recalled noting of after the incident of the isle, but the mark so many carried had been removed. He owed them nothing. Now here they were again, talking of paths, making promises, but not naming a price. That was what concerned him. “They ask things of us, make offers and promises.. for what?” His voice was low, “it reeks of bloodlust here, more than that, it reeks of something foul.” Red eyes flicked over to Gene then Mei, one of the ones from the island.

“You are both well I hope? They have not begun their… ‘path’ nonsense yet have they?” Eyes moved to Tybalt. "What of you Tybalt? Things smell just as rotten?"

"I was following Shun, but.....I lost him, haha." AJ explained while scratched the back of his head. "Oh, it's okay. I am just thinking is that a secret party or meeting....Just curious." The boil gave Xiu a naughty smile. So even Xiu wasn't sure what was going on, interesting. The amphisbaena was smiling all the way. When the sweet ghoul asked him to be careful, AJ made a big smile to comfort her. "Don't worry, I will. I see some new faces around, would you mind introducing them to me?" He suggested, knowing more people mean he can have better fun, he believed, and he eyed at other students.

"Eavesdropping, you guess?" The black dog struggled to keep his voice rising from shock. Instead he grabbed her by the shoulders, not roughly, and gave her a concerned look. "Mei..! That's like asking for trouble. Are you really sure you want to get tangled up in whatever mess they make?" Now he gave Gene another look. "You too, err Gene, assuming you're snooping as well."

When King appeared from behind them, asking questions the black dog could only give a helpless shrug. "I dunno'. I've kept my distance from them for the most part. Then again. It is the lost clans we're talking about, there's always a foul scent about them."
