Lucius laid there as the women talked. She was beautiful no doubt but there was something else about her that drew him to her. "Lucius but my friends call me Nero, not that i have any of those left. Jessica could you do me a favor and take the bandage off my eye? It was wounded but i don't know how bad."
Wife of Eventide For sake of speed his eye has been gouged out and he is unaware

~~~♥Jessie♥~~~  "Sure thing darlin'. But it's just Jessie."She smiled at him as she began to carefully undo the bandage. She tried to keep her face a mask when his face was completely revealed. "Oh honey, I am so sorry." She stroked his cheek and cupped his chin, tilting his head up. She suddenly became very emotional. This world just wasn't fair. She looked him in his one good eye. "I assume you didn't know or weren't told...?"

~~Dr. Elizabeth Sadenes~~ "Crewman, I don‘t care if you‘re god-damned President, this is MY Sickbay, and God Himself can wait like everyone else."
Sadenes examined the socket where the eye used to be.
"Oh, this will be fine. When that Paladin returns, he can restore it with a Heal. And if that doesn't work, I can clone him a new one. The Heal is simply quicker. At most, you'll have your eye back in a week."

Lucius didn't know the damage but from the women's reaction he knew it wasn't good. He knew she had removed the bandage but he still couldn't see. "Another price to pay. Thank you Jessica." Lucius tried to sit up but then he thought he heard the little girls laugh which stopped him in place but upon looking around the room he couldn't find her. He finished sitting up and looked at his arm covered in burns. "No i want it left as it is."

"Nonsense. Everyone aboard this ship is to be in top shape. You are no exception."
She sighed when she saw the arm.
"Dear lord, child. What did you get yourself in to? Miss Jessie, please retrieve some Silver Sulfazadine for me."

~~~♥Jessie♥~~~ Jessie looked Lucius over quite concerned with his reaction. She was also quite amazed that such a thing could be done in the first place as they weren't that advanced on her own home planet.
"Lucius...Are you alright?" She let it slip when he called her Jessica again, he was obviously a troubled soul at that point. She looked over at the Doctor and nodded before walking quickly over to one of the side counters to retrieve what the doctor had asked for. She came back and handed it to her.
"Is this enough?"

"I thank you for helping me but i want my eye left as it is. It will never allow me to forget and that's all there is to it." Lucius sat there starring at his arm when he heard that laugh again and once again he looked for the girl but couldn't find her. He sighed how much longer will this go on?

She sighed as she opened the container and began applying the cool cream to the burns.
"Child, that's going to become infected. And it could possibly kill you. Let other things be your memory, but that eye needs replacing. It's my duty as ship's doctor to see to your health, even before you're sick."

~~~♥Jessie♥~~~ Jessie watched as the doctor applied the cream and was concerned for the poor man. He really wanted to keep these scars of his as a reminder. She frowned as she tried to think of something she could do for him. Her eyes fell upon the bandage that had been around his eye. She walked over to the cabinet and pulled out a pair of scissors, she returned and snipped a square off the end of the bandage, passing it to Lucius.
"Here, I know it isn't much... But it's something. Maybe you could use it as a bookmark? If you like to read that is."

"Fine clean the socket but i don't want a replacement eye. I see better now anyway." Lucius looked to Jessica and accepted the bandage "I apologize if my wounds have upset you Jessica, and to answer your question no i am not okay i have not been okay for more than a year now."

~~~♥Jessie♥~~~ "Oh Lucius." She looked down at the scrap of cloth in her hand, it seemed very insubstantial now and not at all what he needed. "I'm not upset at the sight of you, please understand. It's what you must have been through to get those wounds that makes me sad."
She sat down on the bed beside him and turned the piece of cloth over and over in her hands. "Well if you should ever need someone, any one at all... Please know that you can always come to me if you wish to talk about anything. Sometimes it helps." She held the cloth out to him again. "Would you like this anyway?"

~~~♥Jessie♥~~~ "My name is Jessie. It's not shortened from Jessica...Just Jessie. And to be honest, you don't seem like a threat to me at all. Though that being said I was kinda blind...ooo, sorry. I meant ... Oh gosh, now I've done it. What I meant to say is that even when it came to my very own parents, they pretty much pulled the wool over my eyes."
Jessie sat there for a moment feeling a little embarrassed and a lot stupid. How had she let that comment slip? Then she realised he probably didn't know what she meant by her Aussie slang. She shook her head. "Ahh, I'm sorry Lucius."

Lucius looked at Jessie and took the image in. This women who didn't know him was sitting here apologizing for something she had nothing to do with. "Have no worries Jessie for i see better now than before." He smiled at the girl she was kind to him despite him being a prisoner and a cripple. Such things are uncommon on his colony home world.

~~~♥Jessie♥~~~ She smiled kindly at Lucius and stood up from the bed. "You let me know if you need anything, okay? Just call me, I'll be here in the sickbay somewhere." She turned to go before looking back over her shoulder at him. "And I'm glad you can see alright." She walked off to find the doctor to see if she needed a hand anywhere else.
