Adi and Mazamath Agility: 0 HP: 41/47 Thread Burned: 7 Remaining Thread=181
We are fine, Calanoth, Mazamath sent to their wingleader during the pause, confirming that all was well with them, or as well as could be expected. Soon enough, however, their brief respite was over, and more Thread fell towards them. He hoped that this would not be a long Fall, but he was well aware that that was probably wishful thinking.
The blue took a deep breath and flamed again.

That time, the blue managed to destroy a good-sized clump of the silver strands, but not before one fell across the top of his head, sending him flashing between with a startled sound. When he reappeared, he shook his head as though it was still there. Shards, but that stung!
Maz?
It's alright, AdiMine. I didn't need my headknobs anyway.
"Maz!" she gasped aloud. That's not funny!
What? I'm sure I could survive without them, and besides, as you can see, I do still have them.

Wykla/ Blue Kameth (Storm Riders Wingrider) HP: 45 Agility: +1
It was a tough choice to make. She wanted to stay and fight; Kameth she knew did too. It was their duty as dragon and rider. But she also knew that they needed riders for the later waves. If all the greens and blues stuck around there would be none with the energy for later. She gave a soft growl that no one heard. Kameth tell Z’fer that we’ll be resting. If he needs us sooner to give a call.
The blue rumbled as His made the call. He really wasn’t that tired, but if he rested now he’d be more refreshed than if he stayed until he was exhausted. Calanoth, Mine says we will take this time to rest. If you need us sooner give a call. Then before the next wave reached them the blue took the pair to the Weyr for a rest. As much as they could with it falling right overhead.

F’law/ Blue Zurith (Dawn Fliers Wingrider) HP: 45 Agility: +1
He was holding on tight and not looking around much for the most part. On cue he’d feed the dark blue more firestone or tell him to call for new bags. F’law happened to be glancing at the wing as a green nearby blinked between. He held his breath until she returned to her place.
She is alright Mine, the blue reassured his rider, disinterested himself. Zurith rumbled and flamed at a patch in front of him. Dodging another fatal patch, he cast his gaze around for more.

F’law/ Blue Zurith (Dawn Fliers Wingrider) HP: 45 - 6 =39 Agility: +1 Damage: 7 - 1 = 6
There was a moment of surprise as something dropped across his forearms. F'law had just enough time to look down to see the writhing mass of silver before his dragon took them to the relief of between. Returning to the world, he hissed with pain. The Thread had managed to eat through parts of his wherhide jacket and into his arms. I'll be fine Zurith. Keep going.

D'lin & Plexith HP - 67 Damage +5 to burn Agility - 3
Thread Burned: 176 - 7 = 169
The first wave of thread had not gone too terribly badly, Plexith had informed him of some injuries in the wing but overall it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. Sadly the break between waves was short - too short as always - and almost before the damage assessment had been made they were off and fighting again.
'Ask how our blues and green are holding up would you Plexith?' D'lin asked with a brief glance over his shoulder, tired dragons were accident prone ones and D'lin as always sought to limit the chance for needless injuries whenever possible.
'Everyone flying well?' Plexith inquired of the wing 'Speak up if you feel the need to rest and we start a rotation.'

D'lin & Plexith HP - 67 - 12 = 55 Damage +5 to burn Agility - 3
Thread Burned: 176 - 7 = 169
Almost as soon as the question had been asked a wayward clump of thread made it way across thier path, snapping his head around Plexith managed to catch a great deal of it but the trailing survivors were scattered, peppering Plexiths side and D'lin left leg with shallow wounds before the bronze was able ot take them between and finish the thread off in the bitter cold. The pair returned moments later to their position but both were feeling the impact.

Z'fer & Calanoth // Burn Post
~ Mine. Kameth and his will rest with First Shift. They ask that we call them should we need them back. ~
Z'fer nodded. ~ That's fine. First shift can go now then while the rest of us are still fresh. ~
Calanoth grunted in acceptance of Kameth's decision. ~ I will. Mine and I know that we can rely on you Kameth. ~ He opened his mindspeech to the rest of the wing. ~ First Shift follow Kameth and rest now while you may. You will be called back soon enough. ~ A handful of greens and blues blinked between back to the Weyr below.

Adi and Mazamath Agility: 0 HP: 39/47 Thread Burned: 8 Remaining Thread=146
Mazamath felt quite good about himself after his 'joke,' having successfully distracted Adi from being afraid of the Thread, at least for a moment - granted, she was also slightly annoyed with him for kidding about losing his headknobs, but it had worked.
Just as he loosed another flame, however, Calanoth called for the First Shift to rest. As you wish.
His would appreciate a break, so they would take one.

Or, well, they'd take a break just as soon as he got rid of another sharding piece of Thread that decided to attach itself to him. It laced across his right wing, eliciting a bellow that was as much indignant as it was pained, and between he went. He reappeared a moment later, but soon skipped between again to return to the ground with the other greens and blues.

Set'al and Pipith Agility +2 HP: 61/65 Thread Burned: 1 Remaining Thread=145
All is well with us, Plexith, Pipith answered, but even as he did so, the wingleader's bronze was scored and popped between. Are you alright? It may have annoyed him that he was not the one in charge, but Plexith was a decent enough dragon, and he didn't wish him harm.
Speaking distracted him slightly from his task, however, and he barely charred his latest target...which then exacted its revenge by falling on him.

Sharding Thread! Set'al gave a yelp as a couple of strands came in contact with his shoulder. No sooner had he made the sound than Pipith hopped between and back to rid them of it.
Shells, Pip! Are you sure you're feeling alright?
What are you implying?
Your aim is terrible today.

It isn't that bad!
Not to be critical, Pip, but we're being hit by more Thread than we're burning. That's a problem.
Maybe if you'd stop distracting me, it wouldn't be! the bronze snarled in annoyance. Set'al was right, though, which only made it that much more frustrating. Fine. He wanted him to burn Thread? He would burn Thread!

Z'fer & Calanoth // Burn Post
Mazamath had gone as well. Good after that last scoring they'd need the rest. He kept a list of the dragons who'd left and those remaining in the back of his mind. Hopefully Calanoth could keep an eye on their damage so far should he need to call any of the uninjured riders back. They were fine for now though, Kameth and Wykla could catch their breath.
Focusing on his fire rather than his pain helped Calanoth in his performance. He wasn't taking as many hits as he had in the first wave and though his wings ached with every stroke he was still flying. He was far from giving up just yet.
