It's been a while but we back...
So you can count it loss... We lay and wait, don't hesitate...
When opportunity knocks...
Break the locks and rush the gates....
Seize the day, we got moves to make... Daniel cocked an eyebrow before he lightly placed a hand on Nevaeh's shoulder. "I have a better idea: you rest while I get something made up, then we can eat," he said with a slightly chiding edge to his tone; it was obvious to him she was running on sheer willpower and was exhausted. He gently tugged her back so she sat on the couch before he shifted, flicking his foot upward before snagging the soft greenish teal blanket and draping it over her. He walked towards the kitchen, which was hidden by a low wall and minibar. After several minutes the subtle scents of fresh chicken, cream of chicken soup, potatoes, and rice was trickling into the air.

Nevaeh looked at him surprised as he sat her back down and covered her with a blanket. Soon though she smiled softly as she watched him, well what she could see of him, as he moved about the kitchen. Her stomach grumbled at the scents wafting from the kitchen.

Seize the day, we got moves to make... Daniel was humming softly as he flipped the chicken in the light layer of oil as he cooked the potatoes at the same time. Unconsciously, he began singing softly."Well the bigger the city, well.. the brighter the lights...
The bigger the dog, well.. the harder the bite...
I don't know where you been last night...
But I think mama, you ain't doin' right...
Say... I know a little...
I know a little about it...
I know a little...
I know a little 'bout it...
I know a little 'bout love...
And baby I can guess the rest," he sang quietly, just loudly enough to be heard as he flipped the chicken onto the bed of lightly browned rice and surrounded it with the lightly cooked potatoes before he poured a generous portion of cream of chicken soup on top; he knew it would have an intriguing minty aftertaste as he'd added some finely chopped mint to it. He repeated it before pulling out a couple of forks and paper towels and setting them to the side before he snagged a couple of sodas out of the fridge. He walked into the other room towards Nevaeh with a faint smile flickering over his face.

Nevaeh smiled softly as she heard him singing and her eyes slipped shut until she heard the refrigerator door. Then she opened her eyes and sat back up, pushing the blanket down to her lap as she smiled at him. "Looks good"

"I'm sure you have talents you haven't revealed yet, Nevaeh," he said with amusement as he sat on the nearby loveseat, holding out the plate of food to Nevaeh. "I'm working on a new song that I'd planned to dedicate to a friend of mine... I suspect a couple of them are here, though," he said thoughtfully.

Nevaeh smiled again and took the plate offered to her as she started eating. As she ate she listened to him talk and soon her mind wandered of to thoughts of how smooth his voice is and the way the light shown in his hair. She blushed profusely and looked down at her plate when she realized where her thoughts where.

"N-No, it' not that." she said as she glanced up at him nervously before looking back down as she finished her food. She quickly stood and went to the kitchen to clean her plate and escape his gaze.

Seize the day, we got moves to make... Daniel shrugged, tilting his head. He wasn't sure what was up with her, but didn't mind her company. His greenish teal eyes shifted out of the window again as he noticed a Miko priestess with long black hair walking towards their building. He tilted his head thoughtfully before he blinked before he chuckled. "I'll be damned," he muttered. He recognized Rei Hino, one of his old friends, though he looked at her like a sister.

Nevaeh sighed as she stared out the window in the kitchen. She noticed the women walking towards the dorms and frowned again. She didn't recognize her as a student or teacher.

Seize the day, we got moves to make... Daniel cocked his head as he walked up behind Nevaeh. "She's one of the old friends I was referring to. She must be transferring here," he said quietly."Her name's Hino Rei, and she's a Miko priestess," he said quietly. He saw a blond dart out towards Rei, apparently having been waiting near the door of their dorm. Thought so, he thought, recognizing the blond as well. She wore a dark gold jacket over a knee length blue skirt as well as white sneakers. Aino Minako, one of the mutual friends between Rei and I. Most would call her flaky, but she's more intelligent and stubborn than she appears to be, he thought.
