Kira snarled and her fangs quickly extended when Rusty smiled and walked closer. She was crouched, ready to pounce, until she realized he wasn't going to attack her. Kira stood normally, but her fangs were still extended just in case. Just because she was giving the wolf an extra didn't didn't mean they were friends or that she trusted him. It just meant she was going crazy. It wasn't until Rusty left the yard that she relaxed completely, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, what a great way to keep a low profile." She muttered quietly before walking over to the back gate and walking out of the yard.
"Kira?"
The vampire froze when she heard her name. Not good. Not good at all. She should have looked before walking out. "Clay, Margo...what are you two doing?" Kira asked, looking around before closing the gate. They appeared to be alone. She could take the two of them without any hint of a problem.
Margo smiled at Kira, a knowing smile, but Kira didn't understand what Margo thought she knew.
"We were just going for a moonlit walk. Full moons are nights meant for romance...What were you doing at Rusty's house?"
Kira rolled her eyes at Margo's comment about full moons. She didn't know sh*t. She opened her mouth to reply, but it just hung open as she processed what Margo was trying to say. "Oh don't you even. It's nothing like what you're thinking you sicko. He's not even there. I was taking care of his plants." Kira glared.
Margo just laughed and shrugged before grinning at Clay and pulling him away off to the clearing behind the houses. Clay waved to Kira and she just turned around and began walking to the park. It was moments like this that Kira wished she could go get wasted. Hooking up with a werewolf. Disgusting. She sighed and pulled her hood down lower as she began to search for her dinner.

Once finished with his prey, Rusty spent some time cleaning his claws and his muzzle. Then he threw his head back and howled, long and low, to the moon. It could be heard across the small city, though most would dismiss it as a dog or coyote. He turned his nose to the air, misty puffs of warm breath dissipating into the cool air. His ears twitched, flipping forward and back. He picked up on footsteps and heartbeats.

He walked among the trees on two legs, occasionally dropping to sniff the ground. After a while, he came across a small pathway. His eyes glittered in the moonlight as he looked down the trail. A group of shadowy figures moved as one mass. Rusty growled and slowly stalked the figures. He stepped cautiously, on all fours, slowly gaining on them. As he got closer, it became clear that it was about four or five teenagers, drunk and strolling throught he woods. Rusty could smell the alcohol from several yards away. He was full, so he wouldn't be after them for food. He was just curious. He followed them, low rumbles rising in his chest when he didn't like what they were doing.

The wolf followed them to a small area, obviously used before for campfires or parties. It had a lingering odor of booze and various drugs. Rusty swiped at his nose and snorted, the scents aggravating his sense of smell. The teens started a fire and sat around, passing bottles of vodka and beer around. Rusty watched them from the shadows for nearly an hour before he started to get bored. He yawned quietly, but a short yelp escaped his throat. One of the females looked around, panicked. The others quickly joined in the suspicion. One of the boys, a short red-headed kid stared directly at Rusty's hiding spot. He caught a glimpse of Rusty's amber eyes. That caused problems.

In a drunken stupor, the teens walked closer to Rusty. The wolf backed up, fangs bared and eyes glinting. One of them got too close and Rusty snarled. He rose up on his hind legs and flexed his claws. The group squealed and screamed, tripping over themselves as they ran. Rusty watched them run all the way into town, screaming about monsters and demons and wolves. He snorted and moved back into the shadowy parts of the woods, content to roam until sunrise.

Kira had just found a perfect snack sitting alone under the stars and was about to approach when all of the sudden a kid ran into her. She looked down at the boy who was rambling on quickly. Kira didn't need to hear it all though. She got the info she needed. Wolf. Monster. Woods. Of-freaking-course. Kira shoved the kid aside and began walking into the woods. They screamed for her to stop but she didn't listen. She knew exactly what she was walking into.

Kira wasn't worried about anyone believing the kids. They had obviously been drinking. Most people would assume they got drunk, saw an animal and freaked themselves out. The only gossip likely to go around was who's kids it was, why they were out drinking, and what else was going on. That, however, didn't change the fact that Rusty had managed to still scare some of her people and ruin her snack. After she gave him an extension on his lease too.

It wouldn't take her long to find him. She smelt him the second she was in sight of the trees. Her fangs extended involuntarily and she couldn't get them to retract. Her body was entering natural defense mode. She knew there would be no talking to him, though she had found herself hoping that's how things would go. Yeah. Civilized chat with a wild animal. You're 0 for 2 Kira. The girl sighed. New goal: Don't die.
"Hey fleabag! Get over here!" Kira called before letting out a low whistle, bracing herself so she wouldn't be too caught off guard when the beast attacked.

Rusty had returned to his kill, nosing through the bones and what was left of the hide. Finding nothing interesting, he left it. The wolf hopped from tree to tree, clawing at the soft bark and marking his territory. He swatted at owls and squirrels, not really aiming to kill them. He was just toying with them. As he moved farther into the woods, he discovered a small pond, fed by a creek. Rusty leaned down, glancing around cautiously, and lapped up some of the cold water.

A low whistle passed through on a breeze. Rusty stood straight, his ears tuned in to the sound. His nose twitched and he caught Kira's scent. His ears went back, flat against his skull. His hackles rose and his lips pulled back to reveal large fangs as he growled. The wolf bounded in the direction of the smell and the sound. As he got closer, he slowed and began stalking her. He could sense a small amount of fear. Once he spotted her, he launched himself in her direction. He landed a few feet in front of her and stood to his full height, which was a good three feet over her head. He growled at her, but didn't move otherwise.

Kira snarled when Rusty jumped out at her, but she made no move to attack him. She took a step back and glared up at the wolf-man. More angry now than she had been, but for no good reason. "You need to be gone by the day after tomorrow. You're a threat to yourself, to me, and my people." She wasn't sure if he'd undersrand, but really she didn't care. Talking made her feel better, helped her vent, released some of the fear and frustration. Kira reached out and slapped his side, no where near as hard as she could have, but hard enough to really get his attention and probably get her into trouble. "I really wouldn't want to kill you. The mess would be huge." She mumbled.

Rusty stared at Kira as she spoke. He could feel the anger in her tone, but he couldn't understand her words. All he knew was that she didn't like him and he wasn't too fond of her. When she hit him, his ears perked up and he bared his fangs; a loud snarl filled the air. He immediately brought up a clawed hand and grabbed her throat. With little effort, he lifted her about a foot off the ground. The wolf closed the gap between their faces by leaning closer, growling through clenched fangs and squeezing her neck. He wanted her to see the fiery anger in his eyes and be afraid. If she learned anything, it would be to not test a werewolf in feral form.

Kira hissed and jumped at the wolf, only to play right into his claw. She snarled as he lifted her off the ground, one of her hands resting on his, and one behind her back. Now it would be easy to kill him. It was always so much easier to kill the wolves when they didn't look human. She could feel her anger building as he leaned in closer, testing her no doubt. The girl was ready to pull her knife until she really looked into the beast's eyes. Everything about the figure before her shouted monster except the glowing amber eyes she had become familiar with Rusty wearing. They were most definitely his, just angrier, a little cloudier. Kira was trying to push past the thought and move to attack. She'd known it was him...she just hadn't thought about it until then. What did it matter anyway? She wasn't sure, but she knew she couldn't kill him. At least not yet. Her struggling stopped and her anger subsided. Her fangs remained visible but that was the only hint of discomfort she would show. It killed her that she couldn't kill him, but she decided to blame the fact that she hadn't fed. Surely some part of her was refusing to act because it knew she was too weak and fighting was futile. Yes, that had to be it. "Do it." Kira commanded, her blue eyes locked on his amber ones.

The wolf had intended to at least injure the vampire. Until she hesitated. He'd anticipated an attack from the girl, but instead she stopped struggling and focused her steely blue eyes on his. "Do it." Rusty's face relaxed as confusion replaced anger. She wasn't going to try to kill him. She wasn't even going to defend herself. Kira was challenging him. Rusty wasn't sure how to respond. The more that the wolf looked at her, the more his bestial aggression vanished. He couldn't bring himself to kill her. Instead of accepting her challenge, he growled again as fire returned to his eyes. He pulled her a fraction of an inch closer, then let go. After releasing her, Rusty spun and took off into the trees. He ran on all fours, leaping from tree to tree, climbing higher as he gained distance. Eventually, the wolf wound up at the top of a rather tall pine tree. He paused, enraptured by the moon's glow. He let out another howl before continuing on.

Soon he would descend to the forest floor, spotting a very small cave. It was just big enough for him to fit. He curled up, sleep taking over. Hours passed and the moon finally set, giving way to the sun. Black fur fell away, revealing tan skin. Rusty woke and groaned as his body and bones shifted and rearranged themselves to fit his human form. Claws disappeared and normal ears returned. The only remaining evidence was the amber glow of his eyes and the sharp fangs.

Kira could feel her nerves slowly returning, her stomach leapt when he brought her face closer to his. At least it would be a quick death. Kira wanted to close her eyes, seal them shut, but she just couldn't look away. Suddenly, she was on the ground groaning in pain. Her whole body ached and her head spun. The last thing she saw was Rusty bounding away before her eyes shut.

A few hours later, Kira woke with a low grunt. Her body still ached but she was no longer dizzy. The girl rose to her feet and began slowly walking back home, dusting off her clothes as well as she could along the way. She was confused and a little worried. Why hadn't he just killed her? Was he waiting for something much worse? Would she be able to kill him if that was the case? She sighed as she walked into her house, heading right upstairs to her bedroom. She wouldn't be doing anything for the rest of the day except sleep. Later she would feed, she needed the strength, but for now she would just sleep.

Once his body had settled, Rusty lost consciousness once more. The chill didn't bother him, in fact, it helped to cool him down to normal temperatures. Hours would pass. Finally, mid-afternoon, Rusty stirred. He sat up and held his head. What the hell happened...? He could barely remember the events of the night before. Only a lingering curiousity in his gut. And hunger. His stomach twisted and growled at him, demanding food. Rusty sighed and stood on weak legs. After a moment, he was able to walk.

The wolf made it home without being noticed, immediately going to the fridge and devouring the leftovers from the party. Once his appetite was satisfied, he fell onto the bed and stayed in a half-comatose state for a few more hours.

Kira has wanted to wait until night time to go out and find food, but by 2:30pm she was starving. The vampire girl was so worn and hungry that it was beginning to make her feel sick. With an exhausted groan she got out of her 'bed' and threw on a long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap before heading out of her house. As soon as she was one house from Rusty's, she knew he was back from the woods. His scent was stronger, but the feeling was weaker. She wasn't sure if it was him that was weak or just her...or perhaps both of them. She put her head down as she passed his house and made her way to the park. Of course there were tons of people there. She sighed and began to walk around. looking for a more secluded area and for someone that was alone.

Rusty had summoned enough energy to move to the living room. He sprawled out on the couch and watched TV. He checked the news every once in a while, making sure he hadn't been seen. Sometimes, he could remember his wolf nights, and sometimes he couldn't. This was a time when all he could remember were flashes of Kira and some kids. He had stopped trying, settling into his post-wolf routine.

He could feel Kira as she passed the house, her scent strong in his nose. She seemed weak. Or maybe it was him. He was usually exhausted after changing, but he had no idea what happened with Kira the night before. He was simply too tired to care and remained on his couch. After a while, he'd pass out there and sleep til dawn.

Kira ended up drinking from quite a few people, trying to regain her strength but also not kill anyone. She fed until she was so full she thought she might crash, still feeling weak and now a little woozy from feeding on a poor, unsuspecting, O-. Though, she was nowhere near as 'drunk' as she had been before. She sighed in confusion and frustration before double checking her face was clean and heading back home. She planned to go sleep the rest of her eternity away, but found herself stopping in front of Rusty's house. Kira was surprised to find she really wanted to see the wolf man even though she had no good reason for such a feeling. Before she could fully think her actions through, Kira found herself walking up to Rusty's front door and knocking on it.

Rusty was in a rather deep sleep, but his eyes still shot open. He could sense the vampire outside, and she was back to health. Rusty hoped she'd just pass by and leave him be, not in a mood to fight. But then there was a knock. He sighed and pushed himself up from the couch. He ran his fingers through his hair and yawned, approaching the door. When he opened it, he found a slightly woozy vampire. It was still kind of dark out. He looked around. "Are uh.. Are you okay Kira? Do you.. need to come in?" He took a half a step back, giving her room to enter if she wanted. He had no clue why she was there, but she didn't seem like a threat. Not tonight anyway.

Kira regretted her decision the instant her eyes fell on Rusty, but a small part of her was glad she approached. When he invited her inside, Kira's eyes flicked across the surrounding area, making sure no one was around before she slowly stepped into the house. Rusty's sent was overbearing and almost knocked her back on her butt, however, Kira leaned against the wall to keep from falling over. She looked down at the ground, not wanting to face Rusty yet. "You put both of our lives here in jeopardy last night or whatever night you changed. This is exactly why I didn't want you here. If those kids wouldn't have been drunk and high someone might have listened to them. Then the thought would have spread like a disease." She looked up at Rusty now, unsure of how to continue. "I can't have you putting my life here in danger." She mumbled finally.
