"Even though I didn't know that. I am certainly glad that I was able to treat you with this sight that you have desired to see for awhile." Rai stated happily while kissing her cheek. He chuckled as he could hear her stomach growling for some food.
Glancing up at the sky you could tell that it was evening. But it wasn't late evening when it got really dark out. In fact it was only starting to become evening. "Yeah we can eat. It will be dinner but we have to late till later for desert."

Ryl gave the basket a dubious look. "Dinner and desert? Did you get human food as well as human settings?"
Human food she was a bit wary of. Some of it was quite good, and she knew there were foxes and even tribes that lived in human cities and stole food from humans as a bit part of their diet. Her main concern was that humans were built different, and thus could eat certain things that didn't sit so well in a fox's stomach. They shared more in common with a canine stomach.
She did try not to seem too worried over it though. She knew a couple things that were bad for them to eat and was sure Rai had an idea of what they couldn't eat as well, and she didn't want to spoil his plans for the evening by seeming like she was unhappy with it all.

"Yes Dinner and Desert. It's things in our diet for the most part with a dash of some human things. It smelt good and I observed others eat it. They were fine afterward so I didn't see the harm in it." Rai informed her knowing or having an idea as to what she would be worrying about. He turned from the little pool and headed back to the blanket and basket. He moved the basket to the middle of the blanket and popped open the side that was facing him and began digging around.

Ryl moved a little closer and sat on the edge of the blanket, letting Rai take the lead and get things set up to his liking.
"By others I'm guessing you meant more foxes," she commented while she watched him. It did help to alleviate her fears a bit, though city-bred foxes would be more used to the food so it didn't necessarily follow that because they had no problems that she and Rai wouldn't either.
With an internal sigh Ryl stamped down on her negative side. It was something she'd learned from her father, only he was a lot worse. No wonder the old man was still single.

He chuckled with his head still in the basket and called back to her, "Of course I mean other foxes. I don't think they were in one of the city tribes but I could be wrong." After he said that he grabbed the container that held the first bit of food and pulled it out. He set it beside him on the blanket and gave her a cheeky grin before opening it. Once it opened the smell of rabbit drifted into the night sky. It was enough to make your mouth water. In the container sat rabbit legs and breast that had been grilled than over to the side was some leafy greens that had something done to it.

Ryl's nose twitched as the smells for the basket hit her, and her stomach chose that moment to give a loud protest at its empty state.
She fixed her mate with a mock ferocious scowl and growled a little. "If you don't hurry up and feed me I'm going to eat you, and then were will all your planning be," she threatened, crouching a little and wiggling like she was about to pounce, tail whipping around behind her.

Rai arched an eyebrow at Rly. My she was hungry if her stomach was talking that loud. Her eat him? Now that was a funny idea. "Well if you some how manage to eat me who are you going to have kits with hmm? Do you got guys lined up on the side for my demise?" He asked her in a playful manner before going back and digging in the basket for the rest of dinner.

Ryl stuck her tongue out at Rai in a child-like gesture. "I'll have you know that I look almost exactly like my dad. Like seriously, who'd know who he was the moment you saw him without me having to say anything. And he's an even bigger mule-head than I am and had never had a mate, but he managed to have kits just fine." She grinned impishly. "Sexy runs in my family, I'm sure I could seduce someone else. Someone who would feed me promptly when I demand food."

Rai pulled out another container and was holding it in his mouth while she talked. Since he didn't dare open his mouth to say anything in fear of wrecking the food he opted to roll his eyes at her and make it insanely obvious. When she was done he set the container down next to the one that held the rabbit and put a paw on top of it. "Yes we all agree that it is almost a miracle that your dad had babies. Yes there are lots of males out there that would be more than happy to impregnate you. Your hot you know it I know it lots know it. The question is would you want them to over me?" He gave a snort about the food comment. " I do feed you and well. You know that. If this wasn't supposed to be special you would have had it by now. But I am making it special so its not going to be the normal way." He than popped the 2nd container open. It reviled baked chicken. It was an assorted bits of chicken. Like legs, wings, breast, thighs.

Ryl responded with an eyeroll of her own. "Hot doesn't mean slut. Duh I could find someone to knock me up if that was what I wanted, but the first male to even dare to try that would wake up as a bloody mess and as a female."
Her tail flicked behind her. "Not my fault about the poor time management of your party, you could have had all this set up and waiting if you really wanted to wow me." She softened the rebuke with a small smile though, so Rai would know she bantering and not seriously upset.

"I didn't say that you were a slut either. I just said there would be lots that would jump at the chance if the could," he said it with a bit of a huff. He wasn't pleased that she thought he was insulating that she was a slut.
"Well it would have been better if someone hadn't slept in and came on time than I wouldn't have to rearrange what I had originally planned." he told her with a bit of an upset tone even with her slightly playing one. He let out a sigh and moved the basket back to it's original spot and stepped back letting her at the food first.

Ryl helped herself to some of the food and sat back, but she snorted. "I'd believe that if it were the other way around. I don't think I was that late, and it should have given you more time to check everything." She fixed Rai with her silver eyes. "Don't go lying to me or pouting, okay?"
She shook her head and started eating. This was probably the main area where she and Rai clashed most. Teasing had a way of backfiring on them because he was so serious or she was so stubborn. Like right now, she probably hadn't handled his sulks in the best way possible, but she refused to baby others even if it would have cleared things up sooner.
Ryl waited to see how Rai would react to her rebuke.

Rai's fur began to bristle up in irritation like it always did. "Wasn't lying. It was just the more time I waited for you the more I began to doubt if I did things right. If you would like it and more. So than I began to nit pick at things." He just stated it. Doing his best to hold back any emotions.
He didn't want to fight with her on this. He didn't want this night to end up in a fight. He wanted it to end well. He clenched his teeth together and laid down on the edge of the blanket.

Ryl sighed and left her food, circling around the blanket to sit next to Rai, her tail flicking up to settle comfortingly over him.
"You could have asked me," she said softly, doing to best to squash her blunt manner lest it make things worse. "I could have told you exactly what kind of things I really liked to give you plenty of facts and hints to work off of."
She looked off into the trees. "Honestly the "formal" style isn't really my thing at all. It always felt stiff and automatic to me, more like an act and you're reading off a script than any kind of real romance. I tend to go with the unconventional."
Ryl looked back at Rai and tilted her head, a smile playing around the corners of her mouth again. "It's the thoughts that count that. And really, all the little imperfections in the night are what I'm going to remember far more than everything that seems like it's going right."

Rai glanced up at Rly as she came over. He didn't move which allowed her tail to stay where it was.
"I could have asked you but I felt that it would have taken the surprise out of it you know? If I did something with out confronting you than it would be more of a surprise," Rai muttered.
"You can't tell me that this human-ish style date was conventional. How many foxes think of doing something like this?" He shifted up as he said that so that they were more eye level. "Does it count in this situation?"
