Freya watched him go, her eyes thinned and calculating, as her entire body seethed hatred at the boil until he disappeared out of sight. Then she stormed back into her room, grabbed the door from the floor, and disregarded her dress as it pooled at her feet. She couldn't give a rats a** that she was standing in her underwear as she propped the door back in place, turned around, slid down it, and curled up into a ball. She had fallen back into the giant fluffball of tulle and lace at her feet, and wrapped herself up in her arms, cradling her painfully sore chest.
"I HATE HIM." She screamed to no one in particular, her voice choked in a sob.

...Okay he can do comforting. Ignoring the fact that she was now a lot less dressed than she was before he simply wandered over toward her a bit cautiously and knelt down near her his hand reaching to gently touch her shoulder, "Hey, Freya, it's alright."
Until he had a better grasp on the situation he wasn't going to say much more.

When she lifted her head, her face was red, and her eyes were brimming with tears. She looked broken, and she couldn't stop crying. Kettil's words did not soothe her, but when he touched her shoulder, she just curled up tighter.
"I hate him.." Freya sobbed out quietly, simply repeating what she'd said before. Her hands tightened, nails digging into the tender skin of her hands. "Hates him so much." Her eyes glossed over, and her hands released, grabbing at the fluff of the dress. She started tugging on the fabric idly, but it grew in strength, until she was tearing strips of it apart. Soon enough, she would be tearing the entire dress in a wild fit of anger.

Kettil let her repeat words that her heart was feeling right now and for the most part he let her rage and tear at the dress until eventually he moved in and more forcefully went to hold onto her hands to get her to hold still, "Freya, you have all the rights to be mad, but honestly someone like him just isn't worth your time."
To be honest Kettil'd mostly forgotten the other boil's face by now.
"He isn't worth the energy it takes for you to rage about him," at least that was Kettil's philosophy to interactions with others with an antisocial personality. Let them think what they wanted.

The tearing stopped when Kettil grabbed her hands, and held her still. She looked up at him, startled, as if she'd almost forgotten he was there. Then she heaved one final sob, before finally letting his words sink in. And slowly, her body started to sink down, until he was holding her up by the grip of her hands.
"Kettil." Freya's whisper shuddered through her, before she lunged forward and landed in his lap, lurching into him until her arms clung around the middle of his body. She used him like an anchor, and held on tight until the storm ebbed.
She hated how broken she felt. She hated how she knew, deep down, it wasn't Mac she was mad at. She hated how she didn't know who it really was.
Her fingers grasped the poor shirt Kettil had worn, holding on for dear life.

When she stilled he relaxed a little at least til she lunged at him but even then he caught her and his arms draped around her once more. He'd been doing this a lot these past few days. Holding her, letting her cry, letting her do whatever it took to work through her feelings. A hand reached up as he adoringly stroked a hand over her hair.
These small moments when she clung to him felt crucial almost, he wasn't sure what would happen if he was not here for her when she needed this sort of contact. Hel was the Edge shoved Freya into doing things and he was the Armor so to speak.
"Want me to tell you a story?" He asked softly.

Kettil would probably never know just how right he was. Her sister had been the sword to pierce her broken soul, but he was there to pick up the pieces, and put her back together. Piece by piece.
By the time he was done, she would never be the same person she'd been before. She didn't know who she'd be. The only thing she could be certain of anymore, was that Kettil wasn't going to abandon her. Even in the roughest of times.
And that meant everything.
Her arms curled tighter, but the crying had stopped, and she rubbed her face with his vest. Kettil's clothing would never be safe from her. "Yes."

He cared very little about the fact that his shirt and vest was being made into a wet mass of tears, snot, and Jack knows what else. His hand just gently brushed over her hair as he contemplated what story he wished to tell her before he began to speak up, "Once upon a time there was a Star that lived up in the sky with her many brothers and sisters. Her mother was the Moon and her father was the Sun. They were a happy family despite the occasional fights and disagreements amongst them but this Star was not content with her life as it was now. She wanted more and so one day she fell to the world below to see what she could discover for herself."
"The world was a confusing place with a lot of people with in it, some of them harmed her and some of them were kind to her. It was hard for the Little Star to discover who to trust and after a while she began to trust no one until a young boil found her cowering within the forests hiding from others and regretting coming down from the sky. 'What is wrong?' the boil asked and the Star hid behind the tree from the boy as she responded 'Get away you'll hurt me!' but the boy did not go away he just stayed put right there next to her." Kettil's tone was quiet and soothing, "After a while the Star came out and a bond started to form between them as the boil shared his food with her and it wasn't until she felt like her old self again she informed the boil, 'I am a Star that has lost my shine.' He wasn't sure what to make of it and simply said, 'I will help you.'" He seemed quite comfortable telling stories not even tiring out, "The Star was dubious but the boil insisted and off they went together in search of the Star's shine. They went through all sorts of adventures and sought all the corners of the world but nothing ever came of it, but then one day he became very ill and the Star became worried, no matter what she did made him better. She prayed to her Mother and Father to make him healthy again because without him she had no reason to shine - that if she had to she would give own strength to help make him well, her wise Parents heard her prayer and praised her selflessness. All of the sudden there was a bright light because she was shining and the light healed the boil from his illness and he was so grateful to her that he vowed to stay by her side and she vowed to stay by his because together they shined brighter than even the Sun."

Kettil's story was lulling, like a story one would tell a scareling in order to get them to sleep. But she had no desire to sleep, even though the urge crept up on her a few times as his voice lulled her. Every time she felt sleepy, her hand clutched him tighter, and she shifted to a new position. Eventually, when the story was over, there was a moment or two of silence until she realized he was done. She pulled her head out from where it had been resting, after enough shifts had lifted her up to be curled under his neck. One eyebrow was raised as she looked at him with a mixture of relief, and amusement. She couldn't say it out loud, but his warmth, his kindness, all the things that made Kettil Kettil, brought her a much needed peace.
She owed him too much to ever payback.
"Where'd yeh hears that story?" The quiet, and scratchy voice escaped her lips. "Is very pretty."
She was curled up like a baby in his arms. From an outside view, it would have looked pathetic, but she couldn't tell from where she was.

He had let her do whatever she wished. He let her shift and move and when the tale was done he just smiled back at her even though she was giving him, in what he felt, was in an odd way. He just let her do what she wanted holding her to him with no issue or complaint, he wrapped his arms around her and just held her, "My Grandma told us stories like these," he said simply as he seemed content to pick up Freya's pieces once again.
Pick them up and carefully put her back together. He'd rebuild her as many times as it took until she stayed functioning.
"I think you'd like my Grandma, she's crazy," he grinned lightly.

Freya's face split open into a grin, and it felt so good to smile again. "I love crazy old peoples. I wants teh meets her one day! I wants teh meets all yehr family." She paused, and amended that. "Maybe.. not yehr brother. I don't knows if I could resist his advances." Her head fell back behind her and she swooned. "Ohhh, Onyx, no! No, please, yeh can't, is not right - oh, okay, MAYBE JUST ONCE." She pulled her head back and buried it back in his chest, giggling uncontrollably.

He let out a snort of amusement and then started to laugh, "Like I'd let him have you~," he retorted with a bit of a squeezing hug, "besides, he wouldn't be able to handle you, he'd never met a feisty ghoul like you before, you'd give him a run for his money," he laughed trying to picture the interaction between them and usually it ended poorly.
It was good to hear her laugh, though. It was a step back in the right direction.
"Should get cleaned up so we can go out and have fun and forget about all the bad things for a while," he said encouragingly with a smile.

"Ohhhh, boil. Now I REALLY wants teh meets him. Just teh gives him a piece of my mind." She squirmed out of his arms and moved to stand up, taking a very serious note of the fact that she didn't seem to feel embarrassed about her wardrobe situation. It was a step in the right direction, she figured. She felt comfortable around Kettil. She didn't mind.
"That sounds like the best ideas I hears all day." She murmured smugly, collecting the poor shredded bridal gown up in her arms. "I goes and takes a shower. Then get dressed. THEN I takes yeh shoppings." She stuck her tongue out. "No arguments."
The wedding dress.. went right in the garbage. What a waste. "I'll be quick. Quicker than yeh at least, takes forever when I was waitings for yeh earlier." She bent down to where he still sat, and pressed her forehead against his. A silly, goofy smile was plastered on her face.
"Thank yeh, Hooter." Her quiet voice murmured. Genuine gratitude shone through in her eyes. "I don't knows where I'd be without yeh." She leaned in and kissed him, before patting his neck fondly.

He let her stand up on her own now that she seemed ready he seemed very adept, for now, at not seeing the fact that she was in pretty much only in her underwear. Kettil wasn't the type that oogled too much and right now it just didn't seem like a good time for it, Freya was on a precarious ledge and they had both agreed...
"Yes'm," he said teasingly at her demands as he went to move forward toward her kitchen smirking at her comment of his taking forever in the bathroom when he was changing, "Hey, if I am gonna clean up, I do it right."
What happened next caught him of guard and made his heart suddenly speed and a flush of color came over his cheeks and just once he kissed back lightly but he wouldn't allow for it to linger.

She felt the heat on his cheek when her hand remained there, and she sighed, smiling wistfully. "Remembers what we says." Freya whispered. "Is okays. How we feels is okays." She put her other hand on his other cheek, and held his face there for a second, trying to read into his eyes. Confusion sparked through hers.
"Isn't it?"
Kettil made her feel wanted. And she knew she gave him that same gift. It was what they needed, in the moment. But they were smart enough not to act on it. That was why accepting their attraction was safe. It was okay, because they knew how to handle it. They were almost adults now, and this was how adults handled things.
She drew in a deep breath, and let it out slowly. His dreadlocks fluttered in response, and the distraction was welcome.
