Pesha wasn't really giving her the silent treatment. He was just too shocked to really say anything. Did she really hate him that much? He assumed so. Maybe it would be best to just disappear after the kits grew up, so that way Lillium wouldn't seek him out.

He was so hard at work dusting the place off, taking out the small spiders to the outside, and clearing it of leaves and twigs. It was going to sparkle by the time he was done. And he wasn't going to let Lillium call him useless again!

....
Well.....
Maybe he was.....

He didn't stop though, but the thoughts lingered in his mind. He was stupid, useless, lazy...What need was there for him around anyway? As soon as the kits were grown, he could leave, and they'd never even notice. Daja wouldn't notice. He was too busy worrying about Bella. Lillium would love to see him gone. Maybe that would be the best option.

Lilium sighed, now that the blankets were completed. She sat there looking dismayed. What to do next? There were still were a handful of sacks left. The thought of using one of them for forging, which only left the surplus that much more befuddling.

She decided to set that on hold to see if Pesha needed a hand with anything. The quiet was a nice change for once, but it started to disturb her. The lack thereof of sound wasn't quite right. She walked over and sat down as she watched him sweep up the floor. Something was up and she knew it, but the fact that she felt him growing perpetually disgusted with her unnerved her.

"Need anything?" she asked earnestly.

Pesha shook his head, not verbally answering her. He'd just mess up again if he spoke anyway. It didn't take much longer for the storehouse to be free of dust and debris, or rather mostly free. There were some things that couldn't be cleaned up for the moment, though it certainly would be more acceptable for Daja and Bella to reside in. He neatened up the corner of the room a little more, then went right out the door to fetch them.

He did wait for Lilium though, not about to leave her behind and incur her wrath further. The sun would be rising not too much later, and he was sure Bella would like somewhere darker to sleep.....

Lilium sucked her cheeks in. She planted her butt to the old wood floor. "I'm not budgin' until you say something," she barked. "I've tried being nice and yet it's not good enough for you. I asked if you needed anything and I expect an answer, not just the rattling of your cranium."

Tears welled in her eyes as her lip quivered. "I even went to find you and this is the thanks I get?" she sobbed. She got up and raced over to the burlap blankets and buried herself beneath the heap. She had tried giving him space, not biting his head off. Yes, she was hard pressed to be nice to others. But, that was why Bella took her in. She understood her. Lilium was awkward with people, her harshness only exposed her insecurities. One reason she didn't really talk. But now, she was at a loss. Was she supposed to just take it? Well, she obviously didn't take it.

Pesha wasn't even sure what to say. Nice? No way. Lilium wasn't ever nice. What she said wasn't even nice either. But....Maybe the finding him part was good. But it still didn't help. Maybe he should just leave her there?

Yeah.
Time to abandon Lilium like she abandoned him. Time to be the responsible one for once and go get Daja and Bella.

So off the fireball of fluff went, all the way back to the hill where the two rested.

Bella was the first to notice the dull-bright red spot darting about in the dark grass. She blinked to focus on it. "Daj? she murmured, "I think Pesha's about out in the meadow. I see something red running around."

She didn't know what to make of it, yes, Pesha was a lot faster than Lilium, but she didn't sense the young friend with him. Did something happen...? she thought groggily. Bella heaved a sigh and tried to send comforting thoughts Lili's way. If she had any idea, they probably couldn't agree on anything. Let alone they had sent the youngsters about to find them shelter.

The kits were getting more active as of late and the marching band in her stomach made it hard to be comfortable the last few days. Perhaps, it wasn't too far off?

Lilium peeked out from the sacks after a while. It was odd that there was no comforting paw. In fact, there was no Pesha. None. Fury burned her cheeks. That little mongrel. He left her! Son of a. . . Now what was she supposed to do? Growls and all sorts of ne'er-do-pleasantries errupted in her mind. Oh, Bella was definitely going to hear about this!

Daja opened an eye, yawning and stretching as Pesha arrived. "Oh so you're back...." He murmured, nuzzling against Bella. "Find anywhere acceptable?"

Pesha only gave a nod, which came off as....odd to Daja. The lack of Lilium, even more so. Though perhaps she was still guarding the new home. She was diligent enough to do so, and it didn't seem too terribly out of place....It wasn't long before it seemed Pesha was eager to go, still staying silent.

"I suppose we'd best get moving, hmm?" He licked just behind Bella's ear, noticing a patch of fur that was out of place. "Best to move while you can."

Bella nodded sleepily. Ever since carrying the kits, she rarely felt like moving. But she decided a little exercise would be good for herself. No sense in losing her figure by being lazy. Ha! At least she could bemuse herself in her dismay. Perhaps she would find some activity afterward to keep her busy. Those kids were going to take a lot of time She sighed.

She stood a bit shakily. How long had it been since she moved? Oh, well, best to get going.

"I'm curious, Pesha, what did you find?" she asked.

Lilium wriggled herself out of an open vent close to the rafters she was so fond of. She dug her claws in and climbed to the tin roof. She was surprised to find it was attached to an old water-wheel mill. Not too far off the wheel sat idle in the river. She wanted to share it with Bella and Daja, but that other fellow. . . no, he wasn't worth it. Lilium was still pretty bummed about what had happened. She supposed he really did hate her. Well, so be it.

Pesha kept his back to the two of them, just a little bit anxious to get them to their new home. However, he winced at Bella's question, though she couldn't see it. "Just a storehouse." He mumbled, swishing his tail.

Daja helped her up as best he could, wishing that they could just instantly be there. However, such technologies had yet to be made, so he helped her along, following Pesha. He was acting oddly, though...Though perhaps something had happened. The fuzzball was never this quiet, or solemn. He'd have to ask Lilium about this....

Along the way, Bella could kind of tell the task at hand. She glanced at Daja and back down at the little furball. She concluded, no blood, no foul, but she had yet to see Lilium. Her young'in should be able to shed some more light on the subject.

Finally, the storehouse came into view. The brambles and roots and whatnot definitely took a lot out of her. She felt foolish that she had to keep stopping, but she was winded. Bella hoped that when the kits were born she would have her energy back. Oh, she yearned for it.

The storehouse loomed above and Bella fell in love with it. It had that old haunted feel to it. However, she noted the absence of Lilium, still. She bit again at the earlier question, "Pesha, where is Lili?" It really wasn't so much a question, instead, it was more of a crazy pregnant lady demand.

Lilium wandered about in the old mill. The huge round granite stone laid on its rest, the miller cog hat eerily still. Thick dust cobwebs clung about the wide open room. A layer of what she assumed to be dust and old milled flour rested on the floor. Lilium looked behind her and noticed her footprints in it. Finding the humor in all of it she began to play.

Daja was also amazed with their new home, finding it to be more than enough. It would be definitely safe enough for their kits, and even more so for Bella while she was still pregnant. Pesha didn't answer Bella immediately, instead finding it more important to get them inside.

"I left her to guard..." He muttered, glancing away as he let Daja and Bella settle in. "I'm going to go find food." Before either of them could reply, he was off, out the door and far off in the distance.

Giving a sigh, Daja knew something was up. "Lilium?" He called, being as loud as he could. "You here?"

Silence only met Daja. Bella nuzzled him, "Something doesn't add up," she said quietly. Over in the corner she found the gunny sacks and knew it was Lilium's work. She wandered over to it and wondered if Lilium had fallen asleep. Bella pulled back the first layer and there was no Lilium.

She sat down, "Daj, I don't know what to do. Where could she be?" Bella's worried eyes fell on him.

Lilium liked pouncing in the white dust. Every time she did so, there would be a gentle cloud of it that would fly into the air. She giggled and rolled about in it, turning her black fur white. How she enjoyed mischief!

She continued to play and she set her sights on a feisty coiled rope. "No, you're not going to get me!" she exclaimed. And proceeded to tackle it. She playfully growled and rolled around in the heap. Lilium shook her butt in the air and went for the rope end that was tethered somewhere above her. It gave a little and then pulled back.

Her eyes lit up, eager to see this fight unfold. So, to and fro, she pulled, it pulled. One good yank and a thunderous noise erupted in the air. Lilium froze in her tracks, she looked up into the dark ceiling and only saw darkness.

She then glanced at the granite grinder and it began to turn slowly. Uh-oh..., she thought.

"This is rather worrysome..." Daja mumbled, looking around the area. No sign whatsoever...And to add that up, Pesha had run off out of sight. Something must have happened, and the sudden start of the grinder wasn't helping. "Stay here. I'll...I'll try to figure out what's happening." He wasn't sure how he'd do so, actually. But he did leave, and tried to follow that noise....

Pesha was far closer to the mill, having wandered there on accident. And when it started, he put two and two together. Lilium. Damnit all that girl just couldnt' keep herself out of trouble! Even if she hated him, even if he was mostly useless, Bella and Daja needed her! She was the useful one! Giving it his all, he ran right for it, and rolled right in after he tripped. "Lilium! What did you doooo!"

Bella rested while the horrible shrilling noise started. She looked at Daja, "At least, it isn't dull here, Daj." But she only bemused. The storehouse was a God send! It weathered the cold well. She wrapped herself with the burlap.

"Only if you must," she sighed nestling herself in for a nap.

Lilium was hanging hindquarters over head, when Pesha came tumbling in. She stared at him, with her right back paw stuck in a rope loop in the tussle that she obviously lost. She struggled and wriggled, but to no avail. As if it were a bell ringer's chore, up and down she floated, helpless by the rope's will, "Oh, look who's talking again..." she said sourly. Lilium crossed her paws, trying to hide the sheen of green overtaking her face.

She was tried of the repetitious movement, "Uh... got any ideas?" She swallowed hard. It was either lose face or losing her lunch. She chose the first. Lilium vigorously tried sinking her claws into the old rope, but her flailing about proved fruitless.

Daja was quite lost trying to find the noise, though Pesha had more luck. He wasn't going to give up though. Bella was worried and she didn't need any more stress in her life at the moment. Especially with the kits coming soon.

"I promise I'll shut up again...And maybe even just leave so you never have to see me again, after we get you down." Pesha frowned, diverting his gaze from her for a moment. He began to try to climb up to get her, though kept on falling. Not for a second, though, did he give up, getting right back up to try and help her.

It was about this time that Daja finally found his way in, and just stood there for a moment, watching the two of them. "And how did this even happen?" He asked, bemused. "Tug off more than you could fight, there?" He teased, though it wasn't meant cruelly. Deciding to give Pesha the needed boost up using his wings, the familiar managed to gnaw the rope free, making sure she wasn't going to be dropped.
