Jaromila thought about what Beta said and thought it would not be a bad idea to try.
"Alright, we shall see if I can come up with stories when Haides comes back, if I need to. I suppose it would be fun, though I do enjoy hearing Haides tell them a lot," Mila admitted.
((Now you are going to make Serenity feel really old lol. Yes, let's hope someone can sweep him off his hooves.))

Beta nodded enthusiastically. "Haides is the best at telling stories," she agreed. The mare went quiet for a moment, thinking. "What's your favorite memory with Haides?" she asked suddenly, eyes shining.

Jaromila was caught a little by surprise at the question, but thought of her favorite memory.
"I think my favorite memory with Haides was the day I broke my leg. He stayed near by and helped me to do things. Every time I told him I was fine, he would insist on helping me to get things or that I should rest, " Mila recalled.

Beta smiled. She remembered that. "And then I came out and found him 'cause Mama was getting worried." Haides, of course, had insisted remaining with Jaromila. The stubborn colt had simply refused to leave his soul mate alone. Her eyes shone as she gazed out over the lake. "Haides doesn't get close to many people," she commented, "but when he does... it's an unbreakable bond."

Jaromila smiled as she thought about that day and knew he had been very protective of her.
"Yes, I remember that your mother was worried about him and I was not sure what to do to get him to go to go home. My parents finally came and told them they would look after me, that he should get home," Mila remembered.

"Even after that, it took a lot of insistence to get him home," Beta added. She giggled in remembrance of Haides grudgingly trudging home. And then the colt had visited her every day after that until she was able to walk again.

Jaromila laughed lightly, remembering how much convincing they all had to do to get him to go home. She also remembered him coming to spend everyday with her, helping her do things until her leg healed.
"I remember that, he really was reluctant to leave, afraid something more would happen to me if he was not around. He was determined to nurse me back to health, even if he had to spend most of the days with me," Mila nodded.

"Mm-hmm! But he didn't have to spend most of the days with you," Beta replied with a shake of her head. "He wanted to spend them with you."

Jaromila looked thoughtful as Beta said that he stayed with her because he had wanted to.
"Yes, I think you are right, he does seem to like spending a lot of time with me. Sometimes we would just look up at the stars at night or talk about what is going on in each other's lives," Mila replied.

Beta sighed and looked up at the sky, watching the clouds lazily slink across the sky. "I hope I find someone like that." Haides was to an extent, but his soul mate was Jaromila, not her. It wasn't quite the same.

Jaromila turned in Beta's direction and heard the sadness in her voice.
"Do not worry, Beta, your own soulmate is out there, I know it. Please, just be patient and believe it is possible. If you have not found anyone before Haides comes back, he and I will help you," Mila assured.

"Yeah... ok." Beta smiled sheepishly as she faced Jaromila again. "Haides says I'm really impatient 'bout some things. Guess this is one of them."

Jaromila smiled softly, letting her friend know that she understood what she meant.
"It is very hard to be patient when there is something you really want, I know that for a fact. Trust me, the right guy will come into your life and sweep you off your hooves," Mila smiled.

"If you say so..." Beta made a face. "I'm not sure I want him to sweep me off my hooves. That sounds like it would hurt!"

Jaromila chuckled, finding what Beta said quite amusing.
"Beta, I did not mean that literally, it is a figure of speech. It means someone special that will love you and make you feel wonderful," Mila explained gently.
