Mac stared at Hel as she went past him, watching the way she stopped ahead of him and paused to look down at him. Somehow he imagined that he should be suspicious, since it was Hel and all, but for some reason her words caught him off guard.
Offer...?
Oh.
THAT offer.
He stared at her for a moment as if considering, slipping his hands into his jacket pockets. In the end he sighed and shook his head slowly.
"Hel...no, I'm not interested right now. Lizzy and I just broke up, don't you think this is a little too soon?"

Did Hel have bad taste? Most certainly. Did she see anything wrong with asking now? No, she didn’t. If anything, asking now was better than when she had asked when Mac was still in a relationship. Her own selfish want, that was what she wanted to fulfill.
The reaper just smiled, and kept her voice low so that it wouldn’t carry or echo in the stair way.
“Too soon says the boil who gratuitously felt me up while he was taken still.” She teased softly, and shook her head a bit. “I do not believe in too soon, Mac, I believe in the here and now.” And in the here and now, they were both single. “Besides, it is not like I am asking you to be my boilfriend…I am just asking for…and offering…pure physical relations. Nothing more. It was fun. It felt divine…” She trailed off for a moment, thoughtful again. “…But…ah…it is as I said. The offer still stands, anytime and anyplace.” She then reached out to pat his hatted head, and spun on her heel once more, hopping up the next flight of stairs.
As she almost reached the top of the third, she leaned over the banister to look down at him. "Is it weird to dream about it?"

The moment Hel mentioned his status at the time, Mac's shoulders squared and his hands tightened into ******** off, Hel." Mac growled, eyes narrowed as he watched her hop up the stairs like it was nothing. While he did agree with her on some points - it did feel good - he was not keen on having it thrown into his face. In fact, that was probably the opposite thing to say to him right now.
"Not interested." He repeated through gritted teeth, practically storming up the stairs behind her. When he reached the same level she was, he spared her an unamused glare. "I don't know, and I don't care." He informed her, moving past her easily to get to this own room.

Hel blinked at the sudden change in demeanor, and she couldn’t help but deflate. Well, damn. For once, it hadn’t been her intention to try and piss off Mac, and for once, she personally felt like she was being tame. Guess not, and now she was left with this horrible gnawing feeling, at the thought that she had made Mac upset with her. With as much as he had done for her, having him be cross with her just wasn’t acceptable.
The ghoul stopped once Mac stormed past her, watching after the boil. Her hands fell to her sides and her shoulders slumped as she stared after him. Oddly, the next words came easily from her mouth. She meant them. Months of going back and forth with Mot about it helped her to learn a lesson as well.
“I am sorry.” Hel trailed off for a moment. “It was…not my intention to upset you…and out of everyone who I could care less about upsetting...you are not one of them…” The reaper sighed and reached up to run her hand through her shortened locks in frustration at herself. Aside from that…she didn’t know what else to say, so she trailed down the hall, keeping her eyes on her bare feet and reached her door, placing the hand on the knob. “…Thank you for the day today. It made me…happy that you wanted to spend it with me.” She turned the knob and pushed the door open.

She might've been tame, but the jab was unfortunately one that hit a very sore spot in him. One he wasn't going to get over right away, but her apology helped. He did pause at his own door though, hand on the handle and just seconds away from turning it. Hel's apologies were about as rare as his were, and he knew it. Besides, she transgressed too so it wasn't like he was alone in the whole ordeal. Granted he was the one still in a relationship, but...
"You're welcome." He started upon hearing her open her door. "But I really do like your hair that way." He added, still in the hallway with his hand on his door knob, but he was at least looking over his shoulder at her, considering what to do next.

The ghoul let her door swing open, peering into her room. Right as she had oh so quickly left it. Her eyes drifted over to her loom, and upon hearing Mac’s voice, she felt a bit…relieved. Just a bit. For now though, her good mood was gone, but she took solace in that he didn’t just slam his door on her.
“…Ya?” She asked idly. “…Heh…well, I think you are the only one at the moment, but it is much appreciated…” She rested her hands on her hips, and her eyes stayed on her weaving. “…At least I do not have to worry about my hair getting caught in my loom anymore.”

"You'll get used to it...it's a shock at first." He acknowledged, pushing up his hat with his free hand to scrub through his own much shorter hair. "There, see? Silver lining." His hand slid down to scratch his nose, and he pondered his next move; yes he was still somewhat sore at the probably unintentional jab, but was he really that keen on going back into his room, by himself? Even with the pups it was a strange sort of lonely in there now.
"...Do you really deam about it?" Now that his little burst of anger had subsided, curiousity apparently won over.

Yeah, she’d get use to it eventually. What other choice did she have? Time would come to say whether she’d like it or not either, but what was done was done…
As Mac asked his question though…Hel fell out.
The ghoul spun around, her face pulled into the utmost dismayed expression as she stared at him accusingly, lifting a finger to point at him as well as the other braced herself against the door frame. “That is so unfair!” She cried. “You are such an a**! I am genuinely upset at the thought I made up cross with me, and now you want to really know!?” Her mouth fell open. “What happened to I do not care?” She kept on staring at him, and then huffed, reaching up to run her hands through her hair vigorously. The end result was rather hilarious, as the chopped locks went every which way and some stuck straight up too.
She sighed again and straightened. “…I am not telling you in the hall.” She pointed a finger at Mot’s door, then at Freya’s, then up at the ceiling, because Shun lived on the floor above them…and he as like a ninja so…
“Make sure you close the door behind you. I am going to get a jug of juice out.” That was all Hel said on the matter, and spun on her feel and back into her room. She left the door open, obviously waiting for him to come.

"I am mad at you!" Mac cried back, letting go of his door knob to place both of his fists on his hips. "Shut up that's what." He grumbled not-so-subtly, snickering at the way her hair went everywhere as she tussled it up; she looked dumb, and he thought that was the greatest thing. Then it became his turn to point accusingly.
"Oh, so you can bring it up in the hallway, but when I ask about it you wanna run off?" Not that he really cared, but it was arguing time not logic time. Logic was dumb anyway. Still, he headed across the hall to her room, ducking on in and taking a brief look around. He did close the door behind him, and wondered who he should curse first; his curiousity, or his empty room. One he could blame on Hel and the other was all his fault, so he decided the curiousity was to blame. It was Hel's fault.
"So?" He started, looking around before kicking off his boots and heading to sit on her bed.

A groan of frustration could be heard from the small kitchenette as Hel was filling two large mugs with fruit juice. “I was not running away! I was keeping my voice down earlier, unlike you!” She tossed the jug back into the fridge and came back out into the main room, where she placed one mug on the nightstand for Mac, and then settled onto the floor. She rested back on her hands, placing her cup between her outstretched legs for now.
“Is this one of those…damned if I do and damned if I do not scenarios?” She asked, pursing her lips. “Because I will be honest, but if you are going to get pissy at me for being honest, then I would rather not indulge you. I like you not pissed at me, is that so wrong?” She picked up her mug and took a gulp.

"Don't bring up Lizzy or the fact she and I were dating when we messed around and I won't." He wouldn't get pissy over it if those two things were left out of the conversation. It was what set him off in the first place, after all. Silly Hel. "Will you stop pussyfooting, ghoul?" Mac sneered, though amused, and swiped the juice off the nightstand to take a sip.

Hel put her drink back down, and then flopped onto her back dramatically.
“Oh gods! It is like dealing with a ghoul! Fine. I will not, and you better remember this conversation.” Hel rocked up, coming back to a sitting position. “I am not p***y footing! I am communicating, do not get your panties in a bunch, Mac.” She sneered in return, before she took another gulp and put her mug off to the side this time, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
“The answer is yes. I really do dream about it. Ever since the first time…” As long as she left it at that, he wouldn’t get mad, right? She didn’t say a name, and she didn’t remind him of his relationship status. He better not get mad. Hel made a disgruntled face. “It is very frustrating, I will have you know. Waking up hot and bothered.”

"Bite me." Mac nearly growled out as Hel put on the dramatics. He rolled his eyes after but otherwise stayed quiet, deciding to be a generally good boil and listen to what she had to say. Huh, so she really did dream about it? Interesting. Mac stared down into his mug of juice, idly sloshing it about as he pondered over it (read: fantasized a little bit lot).
Eventually he snapped out of his reverie with a nonchalant cough, then slowly shook his head. "Tell me about it." He murmured in agreement; Hel was preaching to the choir.

“Do not tempt me.” Hel mocked, picking up her mug again as they seemed to lapse in silence. An awkward silence, which wasn’t helped by Mac’s cough.
The ghoul was silent for a moment longer, and for a moment, she ducked her head, her cheeks burning a bit red. “…All about you, too.” She muttered, setting her cup back off to the side as she rolled onto her back once more, lacing her fingers on her stomach. For some reason, talking about this was easier when she stared at her ceiling.

"...About me, huh?" Mac trailed off again, staring blankly into the distance. Oh yes, that brought quite pleasant thoughts to mind. At this point he wasn't sure what to do; he'd gotten mad at her for suggesting such a thing before, but now...well, he liked the idea that Hel was not only open to it, but apparently quite wanting it. Plus, they were both single now...there would be nothing to feel guilty over the next morning. No 'oh s**t' moments upon waking up...it would be like a whole ner first time, right?
"I see." He set his mug down on the nightstand again and slipped off the bed as quietly as he could, taking a seat on the ground beside her. So many questions, so little room to ask them in a PG-13 forum. "So hey, if I were to theoretically change my mind...would that offer of yours still be open?"
