He grinned as she confirmed that he had circled her name written in the helmet, a lucky guess on his part really. He had doubts at first, such as why anyone would want to have their gear traced back to them. Then again, he loathed the tech he had to wear, hence grinding out the company's name from his visor. Perhaps as a military sort she took pride in it...or something. He never understood that mentality.
Still, this could be useful to someone who might be able to translate it, so he labeled the circle around the word SPARTAN as 'Tace'. That done, he saved the modified scan and let his omnitool fade away, looking up at her again. He didn't really know what to do though, he still had...probably an hour before he would need to leave...

The aerogel screen faded, but he was still looking at her, and Tayce wasn't sure why. Waiting, maybe? Well, as long as she had his attention, she might as well make use of him. Pointing to his sleeve, she made the gesture for 'talk', and tilted her head. Asking what the word was, if he could understand.
Before he could really answer, or perhaps even puzzle out what she meant, Tayce was already moving from item to object, repeating the hand signal. How did he say table? Or couch? Door? What about the sheet? No... maybe he would think she meant something else by it. Uh, bathroom? She swept her hand to encompass the whole room as she clacked her hand, wondering if he would follow her meaning.
Cup? What was the burny box called? She tried to keep to very clear and obvious things, at least for now. Like pointing to herself and asking for the word 'guest' probably wouldn't work. Nor would things like 'sleep' or 'time', but every little bit might help later.
She scooted about the apartment, pointing away and looking at him in hopes he wasn't completely lost.

Caecilius tilted his head a little as she pointed at the omnitool and made the gesture that started this, ears flopping over in confusion. It...wasn't as if the omnitool could talk, yes you could install a speech app on it, but that would just speak whatever you gave it. And it wasn't like his omnitool had a name; My omnitool is called Dirt, because that's how I treat it.
He watched quizzically as she moved around his tiny apartment pointing at things and repeated the 'speak' gesture. None of the things she pointed at could talk... He had seen a few vids of crafty tech-types altering their door's programming to talk to them or welcome people based on some sort of recognition, all of it way over his head though. He doubted that's what she was trying to say anyway, doors he could understand, tables were not meant to talk. At all. Or... When she had made the 'talk' gesture towards him before, he had told her his name. With how many things she was pointing at, he couldn't imagine she thought they all had names in that sense. But they were called something...
Smiling as he eventually figured it out, or so he hoped, he put up his hands in the relenting gesture. Approaching her, he gently took her gesturing hand by the wrist, smiling as he put a finger to his lips. There was no way he could remember everything she had pointed at, so he just started with the first. Letting go of her hand, he pulled up his right arm and activated his omnitool, waving his left hand over the top of it just in case she didn't follow.
"Omnitool."
He thought for a moment about typing out the word 'omnitool' on the screen itself, but she probably wouldn't remember it if she wanted him to name everything in the apartment. However... A program that paired pictures of things with what they were might work, one that had a speech module would be even better... He made a mental note to look into this later, since he had no doubt she would keep him busy for the time being.
