Makoto could see it in the bear’s eyes, it was hungry and he was on the main course. Makoto tried to dodge but the strike connected as he was sent back with a new set of scratches, his torso was now in too much pain. Makoto grabbed his chest for a moment before he ripped off his ruined, blood stained shirt. His hand was nailed good and his torso was nailed too, but strangely… Makoto smiled through the pain. Grabbing the nodachi handle again, makoto charged at the bear again and he was putting everything he could into this strike. He was going to end it now, or die trying…

As luck would have it Makoto his just the right spot on the bears head. It wasn't enough to kill it, but it did something equally as important, depending on your point of view, it was knocked out cold. Slumping to the ground his breathed as if it had peacefully fallen asleep. "What do we do now?" One of the now escaped miner asked, as all those gathered around silent at what had jsut transpired.
