"I know about Solarie," Avatre said, nodding. "Flown around near them, though I try not to get too close since they've got flying scouts of their own. They're friendly enough, I just figure it's polite to keep my distance.
My son actually met one of their members recently. They do know the desert very well, so that's why I figured it would be safe to leave him on his own for a bit." She tilted her head. "They're pretty far out in the desert though, not a tribe I'd recommend you trying to wander out and find if you have no experience in desert living."

"Yeah that would probably be wise that way they wouldn't think they might be under some form of attack....though a tribe against one fox isn't a real attack and strategist wise isn't a smart plan. "Tox said as he thought about it because it wouldn't make sense for them to feel threatened by a lonely fox. But than again he didn't know the workings of a tribe so who was he to say.
"Mmm your right that probably wouldn't be the safest thing for me to do but I can see why you let your son go. I'll have to scout around for another than some time and see what I can scare up."

"Well there's always gradually acclimating yourself to the territory," Avatre said, shrugging. "Find some plains sitting next to the forest and learn how to live on that while you still have the forest to keep you safe, then move on from there once you've got a better understanding of how to survive."
She tilted her head, contemplating the male. "I myself can think of several ways a single, flighted fox can inconvenience a tribe if they took it upon themselves to do so. To speak in terms of enemies, if your group is smaller it makes no sense to head-on attack the larger. Better to wittle away at them, little by little, until they are diminished and weakened, then attack."

" So baby steps to acclimatizes myself and get a feel for the environment," Tox mused as he thought it over. What she said didn't sound to hard but he knew it would hold challenges. He just had now clue as to what.
"That's true but realistically what solo fox would want to take the time out of their day to plan it and than make sure everything went according to plan?" Tox asked in wonder. Did other foxes really do that? Tox would find it to be a bother. Why fight when you didn't have to.

"Pretty much," Avatre confirmed, but had to raise an eyebrow at Tox's questions. "Wow, you really don't get out a whole lot. Not saying that's a bad thing." She shrugged. "That or maybe I just think too much."
She sighed and tapped her tail on the ground, marshalling her thoughts and tyring to organize them in a way that she could outline them without getting them tangled over each other.
"Okay, well first of all just because the fox is solo doesn't mean they're solo. They could be an advance scount in a small group, or even a rival tribe. Second, resources. Solarie base is located in one of the most habitable spots you'll find in the desert, that's why such a big tribe can exist out there. That makes it a prime target for enemies who might be looking to invade. Send out an advance scout to check things out, maybe even cause some mischief before the rest of the tribe gets there to start up a war.
And of course-," she continues, "-there's always those plain evil types that do nothing with their day but plan the pain and suffering of others because that's the only way they can feel alive."
She stopped, bronze eyes fixed on Tox. "That give you a better idea?"

" I suppose I really don't get out as often as others so it seems." Tox mused as he thought about it. He really didn't run into to many others. He knew there were other foxes out there that was a duh he just didn't end up meeting them.
He nodded his head as Avartre was talking to show that he was listening and following along with what she was saying. "Yeah that does seem to give me a better idea of other foxes."

Avatre's tail twitched. The conversation seemed to have hit a natural stopping point, and she really couldn't think of anything to say to start it back up. Heck, she wasn't even all that sure if she wanted to start it up again or excuse herself and be on her merry way. Tox seemed to be doing fine, wasn't showing any signs of a concusion or bad reaction to the herb she'd given him, so it didn't seem like there was any reason for her to stick around.
"Benefits of being a traveler and a healer. Both require me to learn about how other foxes think and react," she said in a conclusive sort of way. It was all she could really think to say.

"I would imagine so. Any other benefits from being a traveling healer?"Tox asked. He may have to look into this healing business. He glanced at his surroundings. "I think we should find a place to bed down soon to." He wasn't saying that they had to share a place but that they could or they could both go find their own.

Avatre shrugged. "Just gives you more in your knowledge arsenal in case of an emergency. Good to have some basic know-how if you're solitary, cause there's not always going to be someone around to help if you get hurt."
That seemed to decide Avatre. Tox seemed to be doing just fine on his own.
"Yes, I think I might have to kip in a tree tonight," she said, sighing and looking up at the canopy, then looking back down at Tox. "Guess I should get going." She tilted her head. "Guess see you on the plains someday."
With that Avatre turned around and walked off into the forest. She felt a slight twinge at first for leaving Tox on his own after a head injury, but the further away she got the less she worried about that and the more a new worry took its place; finding a tree to sleep in with branches big enough to hold her and without pine needles lodging into her fur...
