Optheli and Dynith - Gale Stalker Wingrider
Damage: 7 -2= 5
HP: 30/35
Dynith squealed as the updraft also lifted filaments into her left wing membrane. She quickly vanished, then returned shortly. The love from Hers was strong, she would be ok. Dynith glided a moment to let her rider assess the damage. There was some holes, but nothing terrible.

Wykla and Kameth - Storm Riders Wingrider
HP: 45/45
Agility: +1
Wykla directed Kameth to keep position in the wing. She kept an eye on Z’fer and a brown nearby. They seemed to be flying well. The blue rumbled eagerly under her. Alright lets find some. She let her eyes scan the skys. There was quite a bit earlier, but it appeared to be tapering off now.
Kameth didn’t have to be told twice. He wanted to find it and sear it from the skies. He would protect Pern and its people. There Mine. He pointed out some. Her assent was immediate. They would flame it. The blue roared as he dove on the strands. Nothing would stop him!

It burned alright. And more kept coming. Wykla jerked back as some felt right in front of her.
Kameth felt His’ revolution and the sting on his neck. A quick thought sent them into freezing nothingness. Thread froze and broke away. He returned. How bad is it Mine? Is my beautiful neck ruined?
Nay. Just a couple spots. They should heal well.

F’law glanced around him. Dragons were popping in and out. Bursts of flame peppered the sky. Zurith check in with N’mol. See if we need to move over. The wing looked staggered out a bit, but that could have just been his position.
The blue rumbled. If Tyeth wanted him to move he would tell him. At F’law’s insistence he sighed. Very well. Tyeth, Mine wishes to know if our position is good. There. Zurith furious flamed at several infuriating clumps. He would show them!

The thread seemed to be thinning out, but Ca'mil remained wary..it was now when the silvery threads fell only in patches that the most injuries seemed to occur. Perhaps it had something to do with people relaxing..or maybe it was the suddenly unpredictable fall pattern..either way ot seemed they were doomed to become another statistic in that tally because a tangle of oddly falling thread loomed large near Cheryth's shoulder. 'Cheryth between!' Ca'mil called out the warning although she fear it had come to late.

Indeed Cheryth felt the sting of a score on her shoulder even as she vanished between, breaking off her attack on another clump to save herself. The score was long and deep but the Crimson had been scored such before. 'I can still fly' She reported to both her rider and Bronze Plexith who had questioned her health as soon as she returned.

The thread was starting to fall in intermittent clumps, they were harder to spot then the sheets they fell in during the middle of a fall..while D'lin was both relieved that he fall was slowing down he was also straining to see those last few strands before they hit. Plexith cast his flame upwards to char a stray strand of thread and then flickered between as a second strand came drifting towards them.

Returning a few moments later D'lin winced slightly, the score of thread, though not nearly as bad as the one along the bronzes side, swept down his neck and even grazed his thigh. It hurt..but he didn't think it was all that deep thanks to his riding leathers. Already suffering from the score on his side Plexith barely blinked at this new pain. 'Cheryth has been scored' He reported

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth: Burn Post
- Storm Riders Wingleader -
As the fall began to lighten, Z'fer felt himself breath a little easier. Maybe this would be another short fall, the first turn of this Pass not having settled into it's rhythm yet. With only a few minor scorings spread throughout his wing he was feeling proud. Even with the unfamiliar territory and weather patterns their training seemed to be having an affect. Maybe if he could secure a stash, he'd treat all of his rider's to a drink later on.
He leaned forward as Calanoth surged upwards, releasing a full breath of flame at the last big chunk he encountered. Not a scrap remained of it and Z'fer slapped the large neck infront of him affectionately. ~ Good Job Cal! ~

Eliza was relieved to see the thread slowing down..though she knew that didn't always mean the fall was over. Thread could do some strange things once in a while. Velath flamed one of the last remaining clumps from the air and Eliza was just about to offer her more firestone when a shriek beside her caught her attention, 'Kaloth is gone' The green keened at the loss of her wingmate who did not reappear. 'Quick..fill in the hole they left!' Eliza ordered but too late that hole had already let a clump slip through and Velath flickered between as the thread latched onto her wingtip.

The clinging strand of thread was turned to ash in the cold of between and while Velath was whimpering with the pain she could still fly and returning to their position Eliza was glad to see that no strands of thread remained in the sky around them. A breather then.

Incoming Thread! The Riders might have been glad for a breather - certainly the ailing dragons would be, but Thread is not a kind enemy and no sooner had the sky cleared then the lead riders could see the shimmering edge of another wave approaching.

Cetalese and Green Halith

Cetalese and Halith suddenly found themselves in clear air. They looked around for trouble and saw none. Cetalese took a deep breath. Perhaps they had been lucky and it was over.
However, no sooner had she thought it then a glimmer caught her eye. She looked up and watched a new wave descend toward them, shimmering as it fell toward the ground.
Keep an eye up. Another wave of Thread.
Halith did direct her gaze upward and as the Thread floated into them, she let loose a jet of flame.
We will need firestone soon, mine. I am telling Plexith so. Halith stopped speaking to Cetalese, but her rider knew she was directing her thoughts to Plexith now.
Plexith, Cetalesemine and I are running low on firestone. If we are to fight the new wave, we will need more.

N'mol and Tyeth, suddenly deprived of Thread to burn paused in their Flight, hovering as the other wings did the same.
Status.
Mostly minor injuries, none who need to return to the Weyr. One Blue was forced to abandon the fight, but he did not between. N'mol knew that Tyeth meant he was still alive.
Let everyone know to take a deep breath now and get a check on who needs firestone, just in case this doesn't last. N'mol draw firestones from his own bag and began feeding them to the Bronze as he took stock of the Wing.
Dawn Fliers, who among you requires more firestone? Tyeth asked, just as N'mol spied something in the distance.
They'll need to talk quickly, Ty. New wave coming. No luck on this being a short Fall, then.
Tyeth, his mental ears open for replies from his wingriders, turned to face the wave, ready to burn again.
This new wave, however, began less steadily than most. Thread fell in tangles as strange as those that ended the last fall at first, and Tyeth burned one clump only to burn a few scattered strands in the next moment. Then the steady fall of Thread came again.

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth: Burn Post

"Scorch it!" Z'fer could see the shimmering curtain returning for a second wave. ~ Calanoth, send word back to the weyr, some of ours will need more stone. Us included. This wave looks nasty ~ His ears run with the keening of dragons, Calanoth joining in the vocal tribute to the fallen dragon even though he did not know him.
Z'fer glanced back to his wing, they were lucky none were lost yet though he could spot a few greens in the back beginning to flag. ~ Send those two back as well, they'll be a risk to themselves like that. ~
