Riley tapped her fingers absentmindedly against the arm rest, looking out the window day dreaming. Every once in a while she would catch him looking at her and immediately would smile back. Hearing his question, she pondered over this for a few moments. While it is true that I love rock, I like all genres except jazz, blues, and screamo. Makes my head hurt. She said followed by a soft chuckle. On occasion I'll listen to classical, instrumental piano and violin sometimes... It's, calming.. per say. She said looking at him for a few more seconds while he drove then turned her attention back to the rode ahead. It was just be up ahead until they were at the ice cream parlor.

Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... "Ah, noted....no jazz, blues, or screamo." Calvin smiled, letting the car go silent except for the music playing from his player, soft yet strong. The quiet wasn't awkward, surprisingly, and was fairly comfortable. Calvin WAS pensive though, for him the lack of noise growing heavy with his thoughts, what he wanted to say...was afraid to say. What he couldn't say, still couldn't really believe himself. But he had, had to adjust, had to learn control...and release it, but only at the right time. When he couldn't hurt anyone.
Pulling into the parking lot to the ice cream parlor, Calvin suddenly tensed; he had heard something. Forcing himself to relax more, the young man got out of the car and moved over to Riley's side, to either help her out or just take her hand if she had already done so. Walking with her towards the shop after locking the car, Calvin stopped at the corner of the building; he didn't expect the jocks to be there. Stepping in front of Riley, nose scrunched at the smell of alcohol coming off their breath and making him sick, Calvin let go of Riley's hand to gesture her to stay back. Then it clenched, waving loosely, almost helplessly...he wouldn't be a pain about it, he couldn't control her. If she wanted to join, the best he could do is not go freaky. Which he couldn't help, hands nervously messing with his phone, pockets, going into the pockets as the leader of the bullies inside the team squinted at Calvin. Who stepped backwards and fell on his rear, scuttling back as the jock came for him in a drunken lurch. Another one, his main cronie, saw Riley and started CRYING about her leaving him...or something. Heightened hearing didn't really help with slurring, so Calvin didn't understand all of it.
Of course, he was having his own issues getting kicked around by the head jock. I can't just lay down and roll over like this. I just can't! But, I can't get aggressive either, he thought, chuckling a little, wheezing as the last kick had gotten him in the gut. The jock stepped back, almost tripping and snarling as others tried to pick him back up, steady him. He gave a good growl, but it didn't match anywhere close to the sound that came from Calvin's direction, head down, as the jock weaved over to Riley. The warning sound came out again, impossibly deep despite Calvin's baritone, as the teen stood. Hand on the brick wall, he couldn't help his eyes going freaky as he had left the glasses in the car, not having expected to deal with so much more stress with Riley along. But he was, and he was reacting. Not just as a protective boyfriend...but as an assertive wolf.
Pushing away from the wall, Calvin took a single step, pushing off into a tackle to land on top of the drunk jock. His silvery eyes were up close, his incisors growing long as a silent snarl trembled across Calvin's thinning lips. The changes were hidden, the back of his head to Riley as the tackled had carried them both a bit away from her, behind her. Odds were, she hadn't been looking in his direction when he made the lunge, although Calvin had been close enough that it wouldn't seem miraculous he could move that far, that soon...adrenaline was a wonderful thing. And Calvin had already been beat up once before...he knew the scent of those who had hurt him, wanted to hurt his mate, his girl, his property. Hurt, wanted to hurt, protect, rend, tear... Calvin shook his head from where he'd been growling softly against the soft skin of the other teen's throat, hand clenched in his jacket hard enough to leave holes. Releasing the jock with a jerk, on his knees and scrambling backwards until he hit the brick wall of the building again, Calvin took deep breaths but watched with spookily watchful eyes from under his bangs as the other members of the inebriated group collected the jock and stumbled away, the kid too afraid of Calvin to argue. You...you're the Italian kid. You....y-y-you...MONSTER!! Calvin just watched them run off, closing his eyes and fists tight as if in pain. More deep breaths, Calvin's heart pounding.
Slowly shaking his head, Calvin sighed and let his tight body posture loosen, relax slightly. "Yeah, something like that, I guess..." he muttered so quietly even he had a bit of a problem hearing his words. To Riley's ears, it may sound like a mumble...but it'd be a discouraging one. Getting up, Calvin was close to Riley, pale grey-blue eyes ringed with black softening as he looked down into her brown ones. "Sorry, too protective. The stress, and having my first girlfriend I guess," he apologized with a quirky, yet sad, half-smile as he leaned down. He was hesitant, slow, unsure how Riley'd react as Calvin's lips got close enough his next exhale from the slight part was warm against her skin, her own lips. They had a moment, noses and lips almost touching, and then it passed*. And so did they, into the ice cream parlor. Calvin sighed, but smiled at Riley as he pulled his wallet out from his back pocket. "Remember, my treat," he told her, seeming to have relaxed a bit, all things considering. "I am going to enjoy this, okay~?" Riley smiled at him then watched as the pulled into the parking lot. She un-clicked her seat belt then turned for the car door to see Calvin was already there and holding it out for her. She grinned and walked out, grabbing his hand as he shut the door.
She looked up at him curiously, wondering what was wrong. The muscles in his arms, and especially his hand were tight with tension. She parted her lips to ask but was soon answered by the drunk laughing of the jocks nearby. Then just like that Calvin stepped in front of her to protect her. She didn't think the Jocks would do anything to her, but probably to Calvin.. She stepped beside him, watching the group with cautious eyes. She gave a short gasp as one of them lurched at Calvin. She ignored the crying idiot who still couldn't get over her.
Seeing the head Jock, who was actually Josh, kicking Calvin, she lunged at him to push him off. However if you're the captain of a football team and drunk, you have a stronger muscle power than originally.. He shoved her back, and as she tried to make another attempt, the jock making his way towards her before Calvin tackled him. She gave a small, low audible gasp as she watched. She could faintly hear the growl from Calvin and thought she was just imagining it. Normal pissed off guys couldn't make that kind of a sound..
She craned her neck to try and saw what was going on, but all she could see was Calvin on top of Josh. She blinked at the Jock's shout of him being a monster. What the hell? She thought then watched them run away.
She could barely hear him speak something, wishing she could hear better. Once he was back in front of her, her hand found his as she looked up at him. His eyes were different... She wondered what made them like that.. It was quite suspicious.. She shook her head at his apology. Don't be sorry. I'm just glad you're okay. She said then lowered her eyes to his lips. Wanting, hungry for the taste of him. She leaned up just a bit to press her lips against his. Kissing him for just a few moments, until they pulled back and walked into the parlor. She hugged his arm as they waited a minute in line then rolled her eyes. You don't have to. She said then nodded with a soft warm smile. Not as much as I will.

Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... Calvin gave an almost fluttering sigh as they separated, almost like a gasp for air. But unlike a drowning man, Calvin seemed content, laughing at Riley with sparkling eyes as he let the bare tip of his tongue touch his lips and made an appreciative noise. "Bet it'd be even better with chocolate or something," he whispered, nodding to himself. "And I'm just glad you're okay, too...and I don't mind paying. I want to," he reminded her, fingers gentle against her hand around his arm while they waited. It didn't take long, it was late, and the line was short; they got their ice cream, and sat down. "We will just have to see about that, now won't we?" he teasingly challenged, about enjoying themselves. Calvin wrapped his long legs around the edge of the chair, sitting kind of on the edge so he wouldn't bump the table back trying to stand when it came time to leave. And he worked on his sundae staring at Riley, seeming much calmer and relaxed now. He chatted some more, kind of like lunch earlier, and licked his thumb to wipe off some ice cream at the edge of Riley's cheek. He grinned at her, licking it off his finger stuck in his mouth, almost making it seem cuter more than suggestive or sexual. "Hm...Riley a la mode," he joked, winking at the girl. Calvin had his turn to blush and look cross-eyed at a spot on his shirt from some melting ice cream that had fallen off his spoon when he missed his mouth from looking at Riley as she spoke, and although embarrassed Calvin was able to laugh with her at the incident. He asked more about Riley's musical preferences, if she played, what and why did she play, how long had she been playing, was it going to be a career or was just a hobby? Calvin got to admit, with some embarrassment, he had started out with tuba, then trombone in elementary school, but had settled on clarinet; not exactly popular instruments, especially the latter for a guy. But, although he was decent, Calvin wasn't exceptional enough to have his own instrument, and he stated so, explaining he liked making things instead. The long fingers moved with his words, Calvin talking with his hands and almost graceful with his excitement as he talked about making a sort of miniature model for a class project, getting an A just because of how much effort it had taken and how unusual it was compared to the other students' work for the same assignment. Only to have a neighbor's dog sneak into the garage and destroy it all. Other things about his childhood, asking Riley about her, listening attentively until his sundae was more soup than ice cream. Riley admired and appreciated Calvin's kindness and gentlemen behavior. It was quite cute. After they got their ice cream, they had moved to a table near the back to be alone. She crossed her thin long legs over one another, and took a bite out of her Mint chocolate Oreo blizzard; her favorite. She winked at Calvin teasingly before taking another bite. She moaned softly in the delicious taste of her ice cream. She was glad they were able to forget about the event that had occurred a few minutes before and enjoy themselves. After a while of talking, she watched as he wiped some ice cream off her cheek. She could only smile wide at him, making himself a lot more cuter. Do I taste good? She joked then licked the ice cream off of her plastic red spoon. They had both laughed at the ice cream on his shirt, seeing they both needed to pay better attention to what they were doing. A they talked about her musical hobbies, her answers were basic. She played electric and acoustic guitar, piano, she liked it because it was a way to let loose and relieve stress. It always did work for her. She had been playing since she was five or six, always making music around the house when she was younger. And as a career, she didn't know if she was good enough for that to happen. She thought playing the tuba was perfectly fine. It took a lot of breathing muscle to do that. She liked clarinets too, they had a different sound of a wind instrument and it sounded unique. As he spoke about his different mechanics in making his own projects, she became really interested and asked him things of if she could maybe see any of them some time. She was curious to see of course. Hearing the dog messed it up, she couldn't help but laugh and give a sad smile. As Calvin's ice cream was near to soup basically, her own was almost gone from being eaten. She looked down at the last scoop and raised it up on the spoon. Try it. She said with a charming smile as it was held a few inches from Calvin's lips, just in case he didn't want to and she would eat it.

Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... "What do you think?" Calvin asked in a low tone, leaning towards Riley with his intense gaze, a small smile teasing up the corners of his full mouth at her. Licking his lips dramatically to try to make her laugh, Calvin watched Riley, explaining more and seeming shy about showing her his hobby, but also excited to do so. When she offered him the bite, Calvin had to get out of his seat slightly to get to the spoon, and lay his hand over and around hers on the spoon. Eyes intent on her face, he winked as he slowly took the last bite, and leaned over with green liquid still on his lips to kiss her, swallowing before they made contact. His own chocolate sundae was still present on his lips, making a nicer combination than the butterscotch he had almost chosen would have; who said you couldn't coordinate taste? Sitting back with a happy sigh after the involved kiss, where Calvin had daringly licked Riley's mouth for the mint, he crossed his fingers together and rested his chin on the top with a grin. "Yummy," he stated, waggling his eyebrows, the grin widening. He shrugged a shoulder, staring at his own slush doubtfully. "Not that it's in as good shape, but you wanna try some of mine?" he offered, pushing the cup over closer to her, spoon over the top so drips would be caught in the container."It's got brownie....and it won't make you see things, I promise," he chuckled. Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... Calvin was flushed too, but it was more of a triumphant reaction as he saw Riley's blushing cheeks. "Oh yeah..." he murmured with a chuckle, taking his sundae back and swallowing it down, chewing on the brownies quickly. He leaned towards her and gave Riley a kiss on her nose, winking and laughing quietly to himself with shaking shoulders at the thought he might have gotten her nose sticky with the syrup clinging just slightly still inside his mouth. "You're better," he whispered, giving Riley another gentle kiss as he took their trash, and tossed it in a nearby trash can before returning to the table to lay his hands lightly on her shoulders, bent just enough so his cheek was on hers. His pulse grew faster, Calvin feeling more relaxed than he had for a while, calmer even as he felt excited...and that just from a few kisses. No real tongue, not even TRUE making out...and Calvin felt like he had to howl his joy, his possession. Later, later he promised himself, a promise to expend the happy energy so there weren't issues later on from an energy buildup. Sticking close to Riley as they left Calvin glanced upwards to the moon, even though the city lights stole some of its clear beauty, stars out of sight but still there, hiding behind a few clouds. He gave a small sigh, the night chill but his body warm, seeming warmer. Slightly unusual...but not rare. He snuggled with Riley a bit, enjoying the closeness, her scent...a breeze rose, her shampoo filling his nose as Calvin inhaled. He had Riley, she liked him, she tasted good even WITHOUT extra 'sugar', life was good... Not even remembering what had happened before could ruin his happy bubble. "Maybe you should drive, I'm too happy, excited really, to pay much attention," he joked, face semi-serious though and tone absolutely truthful; he WAS excited, happy, content, joyful... It was hard for Calvin not to burst out in Ode to Joy. Not that he knew the words all that well, he German sucked, but he was still happy, a spring to his step as if Calvin couldn't stay glued to the ground as he practically bounced forward on his toes. Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... "How can I not be?" Calvin wanted to know, eyes almost literally sparkling in the crisp night. He laughed outright, a surprising rolling deepness like that one time before, a full-throated, warm almost touchable sound, as Riley zipped over to the driver's side after he clicked the locks open. He let her get the passenger side, sliding in with some tangling and tripping of the feet over the edge; since he normally drove in the Outback, he wasn't used to getting into the passenger seat. Smile gentler, eyes still intense but filled with calm emotion, Calvin moved his fingers to run through Riley's hair for a bit, enjoying the smooth sensation through his fingers, his other hand all the way back with the keys clasped in it away from Riley. "Of course I am, how can I not be? I have a very beautiful, precious woman right in front of me," Calvin explained, tone almost in wonder as he got closer to her face, eyes intent with an expression that managed to be a touch bashful but also wholly unrepentant as he lay his hand gently against the back of Riley's head. Moving slowly to raise the anticipation, Calvin spoke in time to his words, barely pausing a heartbeat before finishing on a soft exhale, "And she's letting me call her my girl." This was breathed against her lips, his just barely brushing hers, like a feather it was so light, before Calvin worked on giving Riley a very thorough kiss, as deep as she'd let him, letting Riley control it and have her way with his mouth.
When they were done, Calvin managed a deeper than usual chuckle, like any affected guy, hand against the steering wheel shaky as he laughingly opened it to let Riley have the keys. He forgot about the dried blood on his face, the bruises hidden by his shirt quickly fading, the pain and scrapes also pretty much gone, everything...he forgot everything, just to stare into Riley's luminously deep chocolate eyes. Calvin stayed that way for a moment, letting out a sigh as he lowered his head to rest his forehead on Riley's shoulder, holding that pose for a moment, hand dropping to the upper part of her back. So intimate with his kisses, but still careful, so polite...so caring, so gentle. So shy...uncertain, braving the waters but trying not to scare Riley. Oh yeah, he was feeling it, excited in so many ways, that Riley could never know. Calvin decided then, despite his earlier conviction, that he didn't want to lose this, the salty sweet touch of her skin, her scent like a unique candy to his senses. He wouldn't tell her, unless he reached a certain point...Calvin didn't want to lose Riley. So he had to control himself more, indulge in a way more so the inner monster wouldn't be as caged. And always, always...ALWAYS monitor himself, and NEVER scare her. Not again. It had been...exciting, enervating, her nervousness earlier. Making sure to buckle, Calvin leaned his head back with a faint sigh, lips still curled in content, buckled and eyes closed. Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... Calvin just stayed loose, relaxed, head against the headrest at a slightly awkward angle since he hadn't changed it to fit his extra height compared to Riley's. Hand laying loosely on his thighs, palms up almost like an exceptionally casual meditation pose, Calvin just enjoyed the sensation, the tip of his tongue barely seen at the edge of his lips, content and feeling through the sensations he was having. Nothing too obvious, he hoped; that'd just be embarrassing, but on the other hand Calvin hoped Riley knew how she affected him. He was aware it could be empowering for a woman, know she has a certain effect, and he liked Riley confident, brash, bold...sexy. He licked his lips again, tensing a touch in the new silence, something tipping him off that things weren't quite right.
Raising his head, Calvin tilted it to the side as he looked at Riley, eyes concerned. "What's the matter?" he asked softly, tone low as if speaking to a startled animal. He had a moment to feel fear, his body loose and not as tense as when he was bruised...did she see his healing, was that it? Calvin frowned, managing to still look more concerned than freaked, leaning towards Riley and offering her his hand palm up halfway between them; if Riley was mad at him, she wouldn't want Calvin coming in closer like nothing was wrong. At least he was aware something could be wrong, and was willing to be truthful about his instincts, even if it raised more questions about HOW he would know how to act. Even as a "normal" human, he'd have done this, his self-consciousness letting Calvin be ready to believe he was in the wrong, needed to apologize and make it all better somehow. "Did I do something to make you unhappy?" he asked, tone honestly anxious, risking a light hesitant touch to Riley's shoulder. "Riley, please...talk to me. I won't know what to apologize for if you stay silent," he asked, voice still low, head down a bit almost like a dog's as he looked at her from behind his bangs with concerned, anxious-to-please eyes, needing to make amends for...something. Though he THOUGHT he knew what for, Calvin wouldn't be sure unless Riley told him. When I have it...when it's better, I can tell you *frustration* until then...I'm not sure how to vocalize it *unhappy, dejected* ugh, blahhhhh)

Riley hadn't realized she was gripping the steering wheel quite tightly, causing her knuckles to turn white. She had turned the car off by pulling the key towards her. She rested her forehead on the top of the steeling wheel then lifted her head after a few moments, listening to Calvin's pleas of asking her to tell him what was wrong. Replaying scenes from before in her head. The first fight when Calvin get wailed on. Those wounds were gone and would at least still be there for another weak and a half at the least. And earlier... His bruises were already fairly faint. She raised her eyes to looks at Calvin's concerned facial expression. When he held out his hand, she didn't flinch, didn't pull away, but she also didn't make a move to hold his hand. She shook her head at his questions, then glanced briefly at his hand on her shoulder. She looked into his grey blue eyes with her intense dark chocolate ones. You told me you trusted me..Why are all of your bruises and scratches gone from earlier, and the other day? They should still be there. She said, suspicion dripping from her words as she thought about why that was so. Was he taking steroids or something? Was that it? Even so, she didn't think steroids could make wounds go away so quickly. It wasn't a fast healing generation thing.

Calvin Harris de ' Ronario
Hell, it's been Hell...but I might have found my Heaven. If she doesn't think I'm a monster... "Oh," Calvin said, taking his hand back from Riley's shoulder when she looked at it. He looked like a kicked puppy when she didn't take Calvin's hand, face struggling to get neutral. Frowning, Calvin looked away, before glancing back into Riley's intense gaze with his own serious ones. "I'm...thinking," he explained, not wanting Riley to think he was looking away to hide things, although that was his initial reaction. Calvin sighed, resting his face in his long fingers, body hunched slightly. A moment passed, a breath, then two...Calvin shook his head, running both hands nervously through his hair and locking them together at the nape of his neck, elbows touching in front of him. "Like I said before, it's ME I don't trust. I...I'm not sure how to say it." He stayed silent for a moment, face twitching with unhappy little jumps, blushing and actually squirming a bit, like a toddler in the corner after being caught with a hand in the cookie jar long after bedtime. "I...it's....ughhhh!" He expelled a disgusted sigh at the end, trying to think of a way to explain it. Scowling out the windshield, there was a glimpse of fear on Calvin's face, before he shut down his expression. "It's...fairly unbelievable, but it's...something I need to work on. If I just told you straight out, odds are you'd call me crazy, or just dump me, if not call....for help. I...don't want that to happen." Calvin raised his head, giving almost haunted earnest eyes to meet Riley's gaze solidly, no flinching, just distress. "I promise I will tell you, I just...need to get more...work. I just need to work on it more." Calvin looked down then, shoulders hunched as if expecting Riley to hit him, hands messing with the ridge of the dash in front of him, back and forth, back and forth, rubbing it almost like he was polishing it, fingers meeting in the middle only to slide away again. He didn't like holding out, but... Calvin had waited SO long, had dealt with his emotions and how they made him react so hard...In more ways than one, DAMN...that he didn't want to just lose Riley right off the bat. "I don't know how to explain without sounding crazy, or losing you," he murmured, dejected and waiting for Riley to just dump him, or press for more information. Then his lips twitched upwards, Calvin attempting to make a joke, although it fell flat with the solemnity in his voice. "I can say I'm not like other guys in school." A weak, unbelieving chuckled, and Calvin hung his head, hair falling forward to hide his face. Riley watched Calvin's multiple expression changes, his lack of straightforwardness.. She felt a sudden rush of cold air on her shoulder once he pulled his hand away from her shoulder. She frowned to herself, wanting to just hug Calvin and forget she said anything. She raised an eyebrow quizzically when he said he was..."thinking. " Was he trying to lie and cover himself up? Oh no, that was not going to work out. She crossed her arms, a solid flat expression on her face as he struggled to say something that made sense. She cocked her head a few inches to the side, waiting to hear an explanation but finding nothing. She wasn't sure where Calvin was going with this. When he mentioned the outcomes of what she may do if he told her, this only further raised her suspicions higher. She dropped her hands to her lap, looking at him to see if he would say anything else; perhaps his actual answer. After a few moments she clicked her tongue at his small attempt to joke. Without a word she turned and unlocked the door before unbuckling herself. She pushed open the door and stepped out then closed it, not really hard, but not exactly gently either. She turned and walked out on to the sand.
