The snowy buck nodded solemnly at his fellow Totoma, his grave image all but ruined by the golden songbird twittering at his head. "Never Forgets," he snorted, and made his way towards the food.

After a tentative first sip, Never Forgets decided that this soup thing was marvellous. The Totoma gulped down the remaining contents of his turtle shell and stopped a passing waiter. "More soup." There was a pause. "Please," he added as an afterthought.

"If your other goods taste even half as good as this marvelous soup, then there is no surprise in your fame! I would be delighted to try your preserved foods, though I suspect you might have to whisk them away in due time so that I don't ruin my appetite for the other courses!" Bog carefully chose a sample and chewed on it thoughtfully, and then broke out into a grin. "Delicious! I can hardly believe this is preserved, the taste is so strong! It's quite filling, as well, perfect for a long day's work. So filling, in fact, I may have to stop right there for fear of stuffing my stomach." The doe struggled for a while and then tore her eyes away from the turtle shell with a regretful sigh, continuing her conversation with the patriarch. "I will be sure to pass on my compliments to Sky! Oh, what a fruitful party!"

Rise was weak against the compliments and such enthusiasm (and the prospect of them repeated to the rest of the couriers); he replied, with much appreciation, "thank you so much. I'll make sure to pack some of our preserved foodstuff for you to take away after our party - then you may consume it at your leisure. In the meantime, do enjoy yourself, and many thanks for visiting!"

He solemnly bowed, and continued on his rounds about the event.

The Totoma tipped his head at the Kimeti in gratitude, but managed to just catch the buck's furtive glance. Feeling rather pleased at this (and at good food), he whistled at his bird before leaning down to take a sip of the replenished soup. The little bird twittered in response and flew off, still singing its song.

Before long, there was the sound of harsh screeching, the sudden rush of wind, and a giant eagle landed heavily on the Totoma's armoured back. A small smile played on the corner of his mouth as he spoke. "Do you perhaps have something for my birds?" he asked as the songbird alighted on one of his horns.

The Totoma looked at the buck strangely. "Food?"

The Totoma actually broke into a grin when the buck left, feeling quite smug. Soars Above truly was beautiful, and taming him was one of his greatest feats.

The waiter returned with an abundance of food, and the Totoma bowed his head again. "Thank-you for your service. You have been most generous," he said as Soars vigorously attacked the meat.

Never Forgets watched the strange-but-helpful buck go before turning back to his soup.
It was cold.

The pale doe walked into the gathering. She heard about it, but this was the first time she actually went to one. It almost seemed like the first part was over and that she missed a good deal of performances. Sighing, she put a smile on her face, being cheerful was her best quality. She pranced up to one of the bucks, "Did I miss much? I sure hope I didn't. My friends were saying this was the place to be." Sweet Bite had her brightest smile on her face.
