Poochyena soon caught up with Growlithe and, attempting to climb Doyle's legs, barked her challenge. Thankfully, she was soon calmed and persuaded to release hold of Doyle's shoelaces (which she had vigorously shaken and pulled to have it suffer in the Growlithe's place) when Genesis scooped her up and the trainer, thinking it best that they leave for now, promptly did so.

Doyle just stared at the pup chewing on his shoe laces. It looked like she might have broken the one or come close to it. He'd have to get new laces soon. "I'll see you around then." He said when he saw Gen come over, get her pup, and then begin to leave. He also thought that it would be a good time to leave and get some rest. Maybe see what was up with Ark when it came to the pup. He was soon out in the hallway passing the guard bidoofs heading towards his room.

Warden returned the brief smile, he couldn't help it. Her smilie seemed infectious, in a good way.

The winged bidoof also watched Frey carefully. He remembered him, though more vaguely than anything. Unfortunately, Sienna had forgotten to introduce them properly. The Pidgeot did look rather silly walking on the ground instead of flying. Warden nodded along with what Sentry said.

"" Frey greeted his sort of team mate nonchalantly. Warden nodded back with a "" The Pidgeot responded with "" The foreign sound of eggs cracking was making him sick with worry. They were hatching.

He waddled quickly inside before either Bidoof guard could object. The large bird located Sienna quickly, holding his egg. He had very mixed feelings about it, though maybe it would be an adventure to have a son or daughter to teach and look after...
His trainer turned towards him, "Hey Frey! Just in time, I think your egg is about to hatch!" She gently shifted her body so she could see the egg better. All of around them the other trainer's eggs had begun to crack and reveal the new pokemon inside.

Sentry nodded to the bird when she was introduced. Warden evidently knew him, so she made no move to stop him when he entered the room. She was somewhat curious what was going on in the room as well, but she had a duty to do. She turned her attention back to watching their surroundings, but she asked Warden, <"Does that Frey also work for your Trainer, then?">

Lyle's egg was wobbling more now. "I think it's going to hatch!" he said excitedly, holding it up in its protective towel so he and Spinel could get a good look. After a moment more of wiggling, a tiny crack started to form on the top. Then it widened a little bit more...and black smoke started leaking out.

"Woah!" Lyle yelped, holding it out at arm's length. "Is it supposed to do that? Is something wrong?" He kind of wanted to drop it because it reminded him of a smoking bomb, but would that only hurt the baby pokemon more? Spinel just leaped forward more, clinging to Lyle's arm with his front paws so he could see better.

More black smoke was streaming out now, along with wisps of gray and...purple? Weird. And another weird thing, instead of doing normal smoky things like riding up to the ceiling or dissipating, it was kind of clumping into a cloud above the egg. And the cloud had a sort of shape, a black ball with spots and wispy grayish smoke around it. Then as the last of the smoke leaked out of the egg to join the cloud, two big eyes opened on the black part. It blinked once, looked at Lyle and Spinel, and opened a big, grinning mouth. "Gastly!" it said happily.

Lyle just stared for a moment. "A...Gastly? So it's not a Sableye after all." A pause, then he grinned almost as widely as the newly hatched pokemon. "Cool!" Then he looked closer at the pokemon. "Hey, you've got Spinel's spots. And teeth. And eyes, sort of. They're the same color, anyway. So is Spinel your dad, then?" The Gastly looked puzzled until Spinel chattered at it, then it grinned and said "Gastly!" again.

"I'm gonna take that as a yes," Lyle said. "Hi! It's great to meet you!" Realizing he was still holding out the presumably empty egg, he tucked it under one arm. He'd figure out what to do with it later.

Sentry was alarmed by her Trainer's sudden yell and turned to look in the room. What he in danger? What was that smoking thing? She wanted to go help, but that would mean abandoning her post. The issue resolved itself shortly when it turned out the smoking thing was just an egg hatching an a most unusual manner. She watched curiously for a moment before remembering she was supposed to be watching the hallway. Feeling somewhat guilty from abandoning her post, she turned back to her duty. <"Perhaps we should determine which of us should stay here and which should investigate if we hear a disturbance,"> she proposed to Warden.

"" He nodded, "" He recalled there was a specific word for that, but he couldn't grasp the actual word.

In the daycare, Sienna's egg had also begun to hatch. Frey scuttled in close to here so he could see what was about to hatch. The brown and cream shell sprouted cracks all along the sides, there were more and more and then...It stopped moving.

Then shell shards flew everywhere, and an Archen burst from the remains of the egg. "PEEP PEEP PEEP PEEP!!!" The new pokemon announced it's arrival to the world. Sienna was so started that she jumped back a little and yelped. Frey however wasn't bothered much by the noise and was suddenly immersed in parental love (aw). "" He said in a calm tone and scooped up the loud Archen in his wings. The new pokemon seemed rather confused and ceased her 'peeping'. "" He said. The Archen's confusion grew, though she was rather interested in his chest feathers and began snapping at the with her beak, ""

More noise from the room drifted out into the hall, "" He was indeed getting worried now. Deciding who should do what wasn't his expertise, either, which is why he stayed with the Bibarel King so long. He needed to be told what to do, "" He asked.

<"Um..."> Sentry wasn't any more used to giving orders, but she was feeling guilty about losing her focus and wanted to stay on watch. The loud peeping inside the room along with Frey's voice caught her attention. <"Since your...uh, teammate Frey seems to be caught up in some sort of commotion,"> (was teammate the right word? She'd have to find out) <"perhaps you should check inside. I can stand watch out here.">

Warden nodded, he did feel a sort of brothership with the bird. The bidoof also heard the peeping and shouts of other trainers as the eggs began to hatch. "" The bidoof waddled away.

((sorry for the double post but it looks like I never really did anything in my last one! Let's finish this up.))

Warden waddled into the room, egg shells littered the floor. This made the bidoof quite nervous, he had never dealt with baby pokemon before and from the sound of things there were a lot. He swiftly made his way to his Trainer and his Teammate to check if things were alright.

"Hey Warden!" Sienna greeted him enthusiastically. "Doof," He replied with a stern nod. He looked at the Pidgeot, who seemed to be cradling a sleeping bird pokemon. How odd. Perhaps he was a new father? The idea of being a father had never crossed Warden's mind much, but now that it had, he was a little jealous. Also odd. Did he want to be a father? The idea made him blush but the knot in his stomach said yes, someday he'd like to raise his own little bidoof guard.

Warden nodded to his partner and waddled out. Everything seemed to be in order, all the ruckus was just the baby pokemon. He told Sentry so when he got back to his post, still a little flustered by the thought of parenthood.

Sentry kept a vigilant watch on the hall as her fellow guard investigated the noise inside. There was no unusual activity as far as she could tell, just people passing by down the hall. It seemed to be normal activity, anyway. She was still glad when Warden returned and could help her keep watch.

She accepted his report that the noise was pokemon hatching, and in turn reported that all seemed to be in order outside. She noticed that something seemed slightly off about his behavior, but couldn't quite place what it was. He returned to his duty readily enough, seemed as alert as ever and didn't seem hurt. She made a mental note to keep an eye on him and make sure he wasn't getting sick or something, then turned her attention back to their surroundings.

Lyle watched the little bird pokemon hatch with fascination. "That's a cool pokemon," he said to Sienna. "What kind is it?"

Spinel was more focused on the baby Gastly, chattering happily with her about something that didn't seem to need Lyle's attention.

Warden nodded at the other guard's report. Everything did seem normal, and the noise in the room had died down quite significantly. Many trainers were beginning to leave with their new baby pokemon fast asleep. Warden watched them go carefully, just in case.

Sienna smiled, "She's an Archen! I have no idea how that happened but she seems pretty great." The bird keeper gently smoothed some of the hatchling's feathers as she slept. "Did you have an egg that hatched?"

Sentry looked briefly at each person and pokemon leaving, though it didn't seem like any were any threat or doing anything suspicious. "I think I'll like it when we get to our new home and figure out what we're supposed to be guarding against," she confessed to Warden.

"Yeah, I did!" Lyle said, and showed Sienna his egg. It still looked mostly intact, aside from a few cracks at the top. "A Ghastly came out, it just kind of leaked out of the cracks." He pointed to the ghost hovering nearby, which Spinel was still chatting with.

Warden nodded, he was getting a bit weary from the completely new environment and he was very ready to settle down into a new normal. Not that he'd ever falter in his work though! He was just a little worn from all the new things in his life. "I think I will too, nothing like a new challenge," He said, hoping more that the new normal would relax him a bit. Not that a guard needed relaxing of course...

"Awesome!" Sienna said to Lyle, back inside the room."Wow that must've been really cool to see," She said when he described how the ghastly simply oozed out of the egg. "Akantha smashed most of her's, she's pretty energetic, and solid," The bird keeper laughed. The broken egg shell bits were on the floor around her. She should probably clean those up, and they should probably get going soon. Almost all of the trainers, save for Lyle and Sienna, had exited the room and back to their cabins. "We'll probably be docking soon, I think it may be time to head out for us," Sienna said standing up with the sleeping Archen in her arms. Frey ruffled his feathers as he stood up. He couldn't wait to get back to the dorms and get some real rest. He was tired of the rocky boat.

"Yeah, OK," Lyle said. It seemed like all the excitement was done here, and he ought to pack up his things. "Oh! Docking soon means we can go to the Gym soon!" he realized. He grinned at the thought. "It should be done now, right? I can't wait to see what it's like." He glanced at his pokemon, one floating and one clinging to him, and figured they didn't need to be reminded to come along. Instead he waved at Sienna. "Bye! See you soon!" Then he headed out the door, pausing just long enough to tell his Bidoof, "Come on Sentry, we're heading back to my room to pack up," before he contined down the hall.

Sentry obediently filed after her master, but she also paused in order to look back at her fellow guard. <"Good by, Warden. I look forward to working with you,"> she told him. Then she hurried to catch up with her trainer.

"Yeah!" Sienna was also excited to go to the gym, especially after all this madness. "I can't wait either!" She replied. They should pack up the room soon, she though. Then Lyle said bye and she waved back, "See ya!" Sienna followed him after taking a moment to look at the messy room and recall both her pokemon to their pokeballs.

Warden watched Sentry go with her master and waved a tiny paw goodbye. They would see each other soon with any luck. "" He replied. His trainer came soon after and told him they would be going to their new home soon. It had been quite a day and for once Warden was very excited about his future.

The boat docked within the hour, and all the trainers exited, unbelievably happy to be on land once more without a bloodthirsty bidoof in sight (unless they brought one home). It was an exciting adventure, but it surely wasn't the last one any of them would encounter.
