“ I'll slap you so f*cking hard it'll feel like you kissed a f*cking freight train... ” XXXDamyen Reed ☆ XXTranscending TimeXX ☆ XXEternal LifeXX xXxSlightly raising a hand, Damyen felt it was an odd question to ask, but since personalities were involved he felt it should be asked. Waiting for everyone to finish their chatter, he finally spoke up. “Um... Sensei, if personalities are involved in this magical attribute selection, how would you find a bipolar person's attribute? I mean, one minute they could be hotter than Hades while the next minute they can be relatively sweet. Would it be just as easy as a normal person with the philosopher's stone and the circle? And what if someone is incapable of said magic yet still attend this school? Just out of curiosity that is,” he asked while brushing his hair out of his face. Partly feeling like he was being stared at like the freak of the classroom, he wanted to vanish and yet he was glad he was throwing something out there to show that he was interested in the magic idea. He just hadn't been expecting it to be something that every student had to take. Perhaps he should've read the fine print... He'd just been excited over the fact that the music teacher in this school may be able to teach him to read sheet music.
xXxScratching the back of his neck, he returned to being quiet as he waited for an answer or some response as to him being some kind of moron to ask such questions. He didn't feel like getting up to make such a failed attempt at trying to find magical affinities. If anything, he'd prefer being the last to take this test. At least then he could immediately run off before anyone could irritate him with teasing words and taunts. He'd really rather not end up slipping up and tell someone that he'd slap them so hard it'd feel like they kissed a freight train in this school. He just wanted to learn how to read sheet music!

Yulian "Ian" Jacobs "Well, first of all, only people with latent magic ability are able to attend this school. Someone with no magic capability wouldn't be allowed in. That's what our screening process is for," Ian said, leaning against his desk as he watched Churuine pick up a stone and go to the back of the class. "As for mood disorders--things like bipolar disorder and depression don't define an individual's soul. Those are merely things that are stacked on top of their natural personality and tendencies, causing alternations in moods and actions. So, from that perspective, they wouldn't have any bearing on their magical alignment."
"Your magic alignment is simply a natural aptitude. Sort of like how being bipolar doesn't affect other natural abilities like singing, drawing, or being good with math. Things like mood disorders or brain damage--those affect your physiology but magic is more about your soul than your flesh and blood."
Keeping an eye on Churuine, he smiled when he saw her results. "Well, alright. We can continue discussing this but while we do, everyone come up and get your philosopher stone, then head to the back to find out what your alignment is."
((I believe Mhai and I decided to extend spell casting since there was a huge lull in posting and they didn't get a lot done....so...yeah.))~Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.

"Okay, I'm totally next!" Mac hopped to his feet and strode to the front to grab a philosopher stone. He had wanted to go first, but the rich girl had beaten him to it. He blamed the entrance of the new students for distracting him. Yup, but now it was his turn. He hoped he got something awesome. Maybe not fire, cause it was too cliche, but water? Or... Earth? Yeah he could live with earth. He picked up a decent looking stone and pocketed it, grinning at Ian before spinning on his heel and heading to the back of the class. It looked like most of the students had finally shown up. Well that was cool. That just meant that everyone could watch him find out about his alignment. If there was one thing he enjoyed it was being the center of attention, that was certain. He had turned just in time to see a paper airplane bounce off of The Student Council President's shoulder and hit the ground. Huh, weird. He had been the last person he had expected to take part in such activities. He quickly snatched up the plane as he past, apparently crumpling it, and setting it down on Rui's desk in the form of a neat, crisp paper crane. He didn't care if he would be able to learn how to shoot lightning bolts like emperor palpatine, he'd never get tired of his "fake magic"
He gave Angela an excited grin and two thumbs up as he passed, stepping into the circle and turning to face the front of the classroom. "So... what? Just focus really hard then? Does personal preference count for anything? Or should I not worry about that? I mean, it'll be a lot easier if I'm not trying to desperately focus on an element I want if I'm not going to be able to get it anyways you know?" He tugged the philosopher stone from his pocket and smiled at it, polishing a bit of it (or making the action of polishing a part of it) with his sleeve. Now that he thought about it, finding out what element you were sort of put your true self out there for everyone to see didn't it? Well, in a way. For instance the rich girl had gotten air as her element... which was fine, as that seemed to be mostly what took up the space in her head from his experiences with her. He hoped he didn't get something super weird, like death or something. Mainly he hoped he didn't get something that surprised him, something that told him something previously unknown about his "true demeanor"... or whatever.Penelope blushed at professor Jacob's light teasing. Well, at least he had answered her question. She had a desire to do the whole... ceremony thing, towards the end of the class... or you know, after everyone else had left. The whole thing made her nervous, even though... it didn't look all that difficult, or dangerous. She slid down in her seat a little more. Well, she certainly couldn't say that she wasn't interested in gaining magical abilities, but she wouldn't be volunteering to go that was for sure.

Angela Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die the right road to Faerie is the blink of an eye...
Angela frowned slightly when Mac picked up her airplane and folded it into a crane. Pfft. Those paper cranes can't fly! He definitely ruined their little game. She smirked slightly as she watched him pepper the professor with questions about the ritual and, rolling her eyes, she finally stood and gave him a slight shove into the circle. "You could think of it more like your natural alignment probably alters your personal preferences, rather than the other way around," she told him. "In the end, no matter what you like or what you hate, you end up with something that suits you."
She leaned against the back of her chair and crossed her arms. "So--you know, mosey around the circle and all that. See what your alignment is."...where charming old stories, in blood are expressed like tears of cream on a strawberry dress.

Mac stumbled backwards from Angela's slight shove. "Alright alright, no more questions." He smirked at her before staring hard at the philosopher stone in his hand. It wasn't surprising to see the circle and the stone begin to glow. He had just seen the rich girl go through the whole process. Still, it was incredibly awe inspiring to see it happening to him, actual proof that he had magic in him. "Real" magic. He couldn't help but smile widely as a warm feeling worked its way though his body like a mild electric current. Anyone who didn't get excited at this point was an alien, he was deciding that right now. The whole process was way too awesome to not be, but even so, he was impatient for it to just hurry up and finish so that he could find out what his affinity happened to be.
Fortunately for him (and most likely everyone else as well) he didn't have to wait long. He noticed one of the symbols on his stone begin to start glowing vibrantly, just in the corner of his eye, he noticed the object he was nearest to begin to glow vibrantly as well. He turned, peered at the stone, then compared the symbol with the bowl in front of him. "Which one is it then... Ah!... Light?" He smiled widely. "It's light isn't it? I bet it's light, definitely light. I mean, seems likely, what with the shape of the symbol and the object in the bowl and... shenanigans." He turned and beamed at Angela, the Ian, then everyone and anyone else he could without tripping and falling on his face. Light was... excellent. I wasn't fire or lightning or whatever, but he could think of a large number of absolutely fantastic things he could do with light... if it could do what he expected it could. "Fantastic!... what do I do with this now?" He stepped out of the circle, holding the still glowing philosopher stone in his hand. "Did you want it back? Or you know... souvenir?"
[[Figured I should just post and get him out of the way biggrin Is his element alright though?]]

Lucy Blake
Lucy sat quietly at the back of the class room and listened as the teacher as he spoke about the philosopher stone. She waited as everyone did theres.
Lucy waited for the blue haired boy until she has her turn. Lucy held the delicate stone in her hand and followed the instructions from the teacher.
Lucy walked to the back of the classroom and walked trying to feel the most dominant energy being recieved. Hmm.. Not Nature.."
Lucy walked past there she felt it. She saw the stone light up. She was standing infront of shadow. Lucy's lips curved. For a slip second. She walked to the front of the classroom then.
"Shadow sir" she said in a monotone voice and carefully placed the delicate stone in the box.
((Hope Shadow is okay))

Yulian "Ian" Jacobs
"Oh you can feel free to keep it as a momento if you like," Ian said. They're useful for other things but I'll teach you all about those later....on....." He sighed as Eros bounded into the classroom and proceeded to wreak havoc as per his usual M.O. "Okay, Okay. Settle down!" he said, raising his voice over the commotion. If you haven't done the alignment ceremony yet, come up and get your philosopher's stone and line up at the back of the class. We don't have all day and anyone who doesn't get their alignment done this class is going to fall behind next time when I start going over spells and the requirements for learning them."
"You're late," he told the girl who had just come in. "Take your seat and once you figure out what's going on, join in. From now on, I expect you to be on time and not waltz in when the class is half over. "Oh! Unless you have a note or excuse," he added with a friendly smile. "Then I'll excuse you and not make you clean the board or some other, you know, grueling punishment."
He turned to Lucy and smiled. "Well done. You can take your seat again. Shadow is a good one--you'll have some interesting learning ahead of you."~Those who don't believe in magic will never find it. ((If I didn't make it a point to argue against your element before you posted it, you can assume it's okay. Angela Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die the right road to Faerie is the blink of an eye...
Angela only just resisted a teasing eye roll when Rui just blatantly handed the note to her. He was probably threatening disciplinary action--in which case she was going to put him in a headlock and torment him until he apologized for being Mr. Grumpy since school started.
She decided to ignore him. Especially when some short monkey burst into the class and jumped on his lap. Keeping her expression placidly serene as Rui toppled over and then monkey jumped on someone else, Angela smiled at Mac. "Well done. Light is pretty interesting--it has some useful spells I think. I don't know all of them since my affinity is lightning but from what I recall, there were some neat ones."
She gave him a teasing smirk. "Think you'll like learning real magic as much as you like stage magic?"...where charming old stories, in blood are expressed like tears of cream on a strawberry dress.

Marcarius Loewe The daylight and the angels and the wreaths are his whatever crime he may or may not have done... Marc didn't expect the hyper monkey lad to show up and start jumping on people but then, really, it was unlikely anyone did. The teacher had a very laid back reaction to it--almost as if he was already used to these antics already. Which made sense. They'd probably sent out some kind of warning memo after the first day fiasco.
After knocking Rui over, the boy launched himself at Marc and nearly toppled the much taller boy as well--just like bowling pins. But fortunately, Marc managed to stumble against a desk and catch himself before he hit the floor. Before Eros could escape, his hand snapped out and captured the smaller boy by the back of his collar.
Scruffing him, Marc lifted him up off the floor and held him out, the same way one might do a kitten.
"Professor," he asked. "Something weird has broken into the classroom. Should I just release it back outside into its natural habitat?"...bag them like bodies and flick switches one by one to a bedside lamp, then step out into the cold.

Peter Whitney Pleasant patina pulls apart a holy copper shrine Like gently creeping mossy claws, scarring all divine. Peter didn't really care much about magic or his alignment or whatever. But he was about to implode from boredom and that just sounded messy and painful so with a loud yawn, he uncurled himself from under his desk where he had somehow started to doze off, and went to retrieve one of the stones from the teacher, careful not to touch him as he did so.
He headed to the back of the class, skirting monkey boy and his weird comedy act. He didn't see the poor little frog until he'd trod on its head. Actually he didn't even see it then. He just left the poor thing, twitching on the middle of the floor and made his way to the back of the room, stepping into the circle. He shambled around aimlessly, poking his fingers into each bowl and wondering why the physical representation of fire wasn't a roast chicken or something useful like that.
He finally noticed one of the symbols lighting up and peered into its bowl to see some kind of animal skull. "Oh...I think I got death. Is that...bad? Sounds a bit iffy if you ask me."All the things you think you value, including the gift of life Will slowly, gently fall apart, 'til the world is right.

Mac pocketed the stone and gave Angela a look, one eyebrow arced severely over a half grin. "Hmph! Real magic. I think we have different concepts of what can be classified as "Real magic", you and me... but putting that aside? HELL yes. Absolutely. You know what I'm really excited for? I can't wait to see how I can mix them. I don't know much about what a... light... o-mancer... or whatever, can do, but I'm sure it'll be fun to see how I can mix those spells and stuff with... card throwing and things. I can cut cucumbers in half with playing cards you know. And... and I can already do "light magic" thank you very much... with flash paper, so... If I did both at the same time?"
As he was about to demonstrate his "light magic" abilities, some middle schooler came rushing into the classroom and began causing all sorts of shenanigans. Well... maybe he'd hold off on the demonstration for now. Things were already hectic enough as it was. Besides, he had used flash powder on Angela once before, so she knew he could back up his claims right? Of course, she hadn't seemed particularly impressed with it then either. ..
The short kid (just a short kid, not a middleschooler) had just practically tackled Marc the rich boy, who had in turn grabbed a hold of him and lifted him up just like in the cartoons. All thoughts of showboating with flashpaper were forgotten as Mac started to laugh. People usually said that HE put on a show... this school was awesome!
"I like this school!" He stated, Grinning at Angela. "It's exciting!" It seemed that Tall, dark and brooding, and the monkey boy had both made a full recovery from the incident in art class. Penelope wasn't entirely sure whether that was a good thing though... cause they seemed to have brought the craziness here with them. Actually, mostly it was the monkey boy... who brought the crazy. Peter seemed pretty laid back, so he probably had just gotten caught up in monkey boy's... crazy. The professor wanted all the students to grab a stone and line up at the back of the class... So Penelope did as instructed, walking up and plucking the first stone she saw out of the box, then walking past the currently (or.. maybe always) exuberant Mac, the silent girl, and-
That was a dead frog, twitching on the floor. She stopped suddenly, the hair on the back of her neck bristling in surprise as she took in the recently deceased creature she had nearly stepped on. Oh GOD. Why was there a frog? Did it have something to do with the monkey boy? Now that she thought about it, she did seem to recall thinking that he was chasing something, but if that was the case, then why was the thing lying here DEAD? To be stepped on? Hesitantly and rather skittishly actually, she stepped over the amphibian. She didn't necessarily have anything against frogs. As a matter of fact she was sure that she had one or two of the stuffed animal variety. It wasn't really the frog that unnerved her though, it was the fact that it was dead. Dead things were just so... well, unnerving.
She arrived at the back of the class to find that no one else had lined up yet. Wonderful, that meant that after Peter left the circle, she would have to be next. This almost felt like some sort of exam, and couldn't help but get a little nervous about the consequences "failing" might have. Mainly, it would just be not being able to stay at this school. She shouldn't let it bother her, seeing as she wouldn't have been allowed in in the first place if she didn't have a magical affinity... but it did anyways.
