Hn... interesting. Flame-hand abilities and heat tracking... sharpshooter... But those aren't what I need, though they would serve well.
"How good are you," he said after a while, "At infiltration and reconnaisance? What I need is proof that an organization known as the Order of Charitable Monks is a front. For what, I haven't the faintest idea as of yet. My other team members might, but I'm restricted from making contact with any of them until I find something relevant.
While you make an attempt to get in and find out what's going on there, I'll pay a visit to the Yaits Corp. office in Downtown Barton to ask around about the disappearance of the original Edward Yaits III. Are we clear with each other?"

"Infiltration? Yeah, I can get in alright, but I'd just need to know exactly what I'm looking to find out. Accounting records and transaction slips?" The instructions were a bit vague at the moment, but Terran could more than likely muddle through them.

"Hmm..." He wondered if there were anything else other than monetary records to look for, but it was most definitely the only thing he could get a proper grasp on right now. Enough money in the right direction could lead to something bigger.
"Yes, exactly. It's a good place to start. I also want you to look for anything that you consider important- use your best judgement on this one. It's getting quite late now, though... how about we start this tomorrow, mister..."
He left the sentence open, expecting a name.

Which Terran picked right up on. "Terran. Maxwell, that is. Terran Maxwell."
Because there wasn't much to be said.

He nodded. "My name, if you must have one in return, is Damien, and I happen to be the captain of my team. The others are each in a different city and town, searching for the same things I am.
It seems that nothing is happenning here... but I think different."
Damien shrugged, and began walking back to his three-star hotel. "I could set up a room for you Terran, if you like. We'll get started first thing tomorrow. Understood?"

"Yeah, I get it, and I could use one, yeah... so, should I start saluting, or what?" Terran was joking as he turned to Follow behind his new commander, beit temporary or otherwise.

He shrugged. "Do as you wish," he replied indifferently.
As they reached the hotel and Damien got Terran checked in, the sun was lowering on the horizon and the first few stars were out in the night sky. It was indeed too late to do much of anything at the moment, so the only thing that was to be done now was to get some rest.
Tomorrow would be, if nothing else, amusing...

Allow me to set the stage for day two.
Terran slept. Sorta. He kinda sat there all night. He wasn't tired until nearly two. Which was probably bad. But that was what he did. Sat a smoked.

Of course, the fact that he was tired at two in the morning was a bad sign, because Damien was an early riser. He expected just about everyone who worked with him to be the same. But no one was perfect. He woke up at around 7:00 AM on the dot and headed towards Terran's room, knocking twice.
"Wakey. It's showtime."

Terran was already awake and in his... er... saturday... best. Sitting on the bed, he was just waiting for something to happen. That something was a knock.
Terran answered the door, actually clad in bluejeans that were loose around the calf and ankle, a long, red shirt, and a pair of boots. In his back pocket was a pack of cigarettes, and if this guy was good enough to spot for such things, there would appear to be a gun along his hip. "Didn't know if I should look more 'cop'ly or what." He didn't look that tired. Kind of odd.

Damien nodded, mostly to himself.
Excellent... just as I expect. We have much to do...
"Yes, that's good enough. But you are not to fire that weapon unless fired upon- this is reconnaisance only. Do you remember your role in this?" He looked at him with his even, steady, and unassuming gaze. Damien didn't mind reminding Terran of what his orders were, just so long as the man followed them.

Terran nodded some, placing his hand on the back of his head. "Infiltrait the Yaits Corporation Building whilst you distract the front. I'll then head up to the higher levels and look for filing cabinates and/or a computer that might have the financial records or transaction sheets to the Order of Charitable Monks. I'm trying to find out if this is a front for something nice and filthy." Terran sounded like a tape recorder. Just like a briefing.

"Exactly. I will make as good of an attempt as I can to create as much of a diversion as possible... hopefully without anyone being hurt. Try not to be seen by security officers- we don't need any trouble from the local police forces, should they call in for backup.
Seeing as I won't be getting any support from headquarters if I'm caught, that leaves me in a somewhat disadvantageous positoin. Still, if we can pull this off, we may be able to discern information about the disappearance of Yaits as well, such as his last known whereabouts.
Understand," he continued, "That this is considered a black op- the media has no knowledge, nor do the authorities. If either of them find out, it will unleash a shitstorm. In the event that you're captured, I have no knowledge of you- I'm simply going to provide the distraction. The rest is up to you."

Terran was starting to be curious how Damien would have done this alone. "Understood. It's not a problem in the least. Question, do you know if the guards are like, hired professionals, or are we talkin' rent-a-cops?"

He considered for a moment... then shrugged. "Hard to say. Yaits Corp. might have a special operations division on the scene, or they may simply have hired help. This is why I'm going in first; throw some questions here and there, check the area to see what's what. Only until I've found out everything do we get started, understand?"
He was explicit about this part- reconnaisance was an important part of this before any searches could be made.
