Nafasi finished up as well, and sat back to start cleaning off his paws and muzzle. "We're going to find more friends, and form....some sort of group....no name yet. But something like a pride or pack." The wild dog looked to his friends, ears perked and eyes shining. "We need everyone we can get...and it'll be fun!"
Biz busied herself with cleaning herself off, listening to the others talk.

Juhudi wagged his tail excitedly, amazing the habbits friends can pick up from another. "We're going on an adventure to find a new home for all the rouges like us to share." He grinned, pale eyes glistening with excitement. His family just kept growing, last night he had been alone, but now he had 3 new friends. He turned to Nafasi with an even bigger grin. Though their group had grown, the pup was the one whom he had been guided to meet, the one who had first saved him from his lonliness and shown him that his mother was still watching over him from the stars. For that Nafasi would always be his true family, the one he would always cherish and call his best friend.

Kere paused in his cleaning to tilt his head to the side.
"An adventure to find a new home?" he repated softly. He bowed his head to stare at his paws for a moment as he thought. His eyes fell upon the anklet his mother had somehow crafted for him from his father's long mane hairs. As far as he could remember, neither of his parents had been terribly adventurous. Both had always preferred to carefully tread in the same, time-honored ruts that had been passed down through generations.
Manners and tradition. Hardly things that would help somebody stay alive on their own. With a small pang, Kere realized that he would need to abandon soem of his parents' teachings if he wanted to stay alive.
After a moment, he raised his head and looked at each of his new companions.
"I don't know a lot about adventure," he began slowly. "But I'm willing to try if you guys are."

"I'm willing to try anything at least once." The pup grinned, looking over the others. "How else would someone discover their likes and dislikes? Or strengths and weaknesses? We might not know much, but I'm sure we'll learn as we go along...and the more the better, that way we can help each other past our weaknesses!"
Biz watched the wild dog pup, head tilted slightly. "You seem awfully smart..."
"I just try to see the world different...that's all."

Juhudi gave a determined nod of his head, and having cleaned himself as much as he could stood to four paws. They were going to find a new home, a home for he and Nafasi and the others and anyone else who wanted to join them. Nothing could have swayed him from this. He had a family again, and he knew his mother was watching him from the stars, he felt he could take on anything and he was going to make her proud. "We should get moving if we wanna find our home today." An hour or so had passed, and it was probably around 9am by now. The sun was rabidly climbing in the sky and most of the predators would be looking for their daily napping spots by now. It wasn't the best time of day to travel if you wanted to avoid the bright and the heat, but it was a good time to be out if you wanted to avoid the predators.

Kere got to his feet and cast one last longing look at breakfast. It was a pity that there was no way for them to carry it with them. Logic told him that food would be more difficult to find once they were on theri way, but a stubborn streak deep within his heart would not allow him to voice his worries He'd agreed to this adventure. And however events fell out, there was little he could do personally to change them.
He forced a (he hoped) brave expression onto his face and nodded to Juhudi and Nafasi.
"I'll follow where you lead."

Both Nafasi and Biz leapt to their feet, the wild dog nearly trembling with excitement and the lion cub surveying the land curiously.
Casting a final glance back at Juhudi and Kere, Nafasi headed off across the landscape in the search for a new home. It most likely wouldn't be easy, but with friends to help along the way it wouldn't be so bad, right? Ears perk and listening to every sound with a renewed vigor, Nafasi led the group.
Following closely behind, and off to the left a bit, Biz was busy surveying the landscape as they walked through it. She was a naturally curious cub, and she figured that as long as they were taking this trip, she might as well learn all she could during the journey.

(( toward the pridelands? or perhaps to the Ela lands...they could use some action? )) Juhudi's gate was a happy prance, barely able to contain his excite enough to not break into a run. But they needed to pace themselves or they're tire out, besides, if they moved to fast they might miss their new home. White paws stired up dust as he trotted to Nafasi's side. They were best friends, a team, they'd do this together as equals. He turned and shot a grin at the pup, eyes alight with excitement. With every step his ears flicked, nose twitching, senses on the alert as his eyes scanned the horizon, searching for a place to call home.

((either works for me =^^=))
Kere trailed slightly behind the others, looking around with wide, pink eyes. Briefly, he wondered how they would recognize their new home. Would they know it by scent or how it looked?
Personally, he didn't care what it looked like so long as there weren't any bad lions around to hurt him or his friends. The black cub shook his head to rid it of musing and quickened his step. A fine thing it'd be, he thought, if I got myself lost because I wasn't payign attention.

((Either works for me too ^_^))
Nafasi shot the grin right back at Juhudi, excitement coursing through his veins. How wonderful it was to go from having nothing, to having the most beautiful thing of all...friendship. They would make many friends during their journey through life, but Nafasi knew that Juhudi would always be the most important to him. It was like they were brothers, rather than just friends.
Tail wagging behind him, the wild dog pup walked the lands, a picture of their future home forming in his mind.
Biz noticed that Kere had been trailing behind slowly, and slowed her own pace to allow him to catch up. She didn't know whether the other was slowing down from interest in the scenery, or perhaps some sort of disability. All she knew was that no one would fall behind in this group, they were in this together.

Though they probably didn't realize it, the cubs were headed toward the northeast, from the southlands, past the pridelands and the swamp toward the lands of the Ela'wadiyi. The journey would be long and difficult, dusty paws wore by the trek. But they would continue on, no matter how long it took, they would make it. Juhudi knew that they wouldn't have found their new home on the first day, but that was okay, and though the days would pass by, his excitement never waned. Though they had yet to find their new home, they were together, they were a family, and in the end, that was the true adventure. However it wouldn't be long before the cubs' eyes fell on the tall mountain range in the far distance, the mountains in the lands of the ela. Juhudi's tail flicked and a broad grin spread across his maw as he lifted one paw to point toward the distant moutains. "There, I bet that's where we'll find our home."

Kere shot a small, shy smile at Biz as he noticed her purposely slowing her pace own to allow him to catch up. He opened his mouth to thank her, but before the words come out, he heard Juhudi and paused to looks towards the distant mountains.
To his inexperienced eyes, they looked terribly far away and intimidating. Still, he was sure that Juhudi and Nafasi knew where they were going. Allowing himself a luxurious stretch, he began walking in the direction Juhudi pointed. At least he could take comfort in one thing, he'd never heard of other lions living near the mountains.

As the trip went on, Biz would find herself growing more attached to Kere over time. It would seem that perhaps they'd form a bond much like that of Nafasi and Juhudi.
Nafasi continued the trip as he had started it, by Juhudi's side, grin crossing his maw. No distance could dampen his spirits, no factors of the environment could make him want to give up. This was his destiny, his purpose in life was to travel with Juhudi and form a home where all rogues, of any species, would be welcome. Their home would be beautiful no matter where it lie, because no matter what, it was theirs.

(( Almost time to move to the ela subforum. xD )) Dusty worn paws trekked onward, never faltering, as steady as the day they had started. The journey had been long, but mercifully uneventful, and over the course of time the cubs had changed, they had grown. No longer the akward children, they were closer to teenagers now. Though they were still far from mature, they were certainly more capable than they had been at that fateful first meeting. The mountains that had been so distant before, were now very near. They had long left the southlands, past the pridelands, and were nearing the borders of the ela lands. The terrain was much different here, the grass of the plains had faded, giving way to rocks and earth. Juhudi paused, his eyes focused ahead of them, searching the horizon. They were close, he could feel it, soon they would find a place to call their own, their home. "We're almost there, I'm sure of it."

((Phwee! Ela lands! 8D))
Kere took advantage of Juhudi's pause to sniff carefully at the rocks and dirt. He was feeling hungry again and found himself wondering what they prey here would be like.
"How can they even hide?" he muttered to himself. "No grass to provide cover, just dirt."
He shook his head, smiling as he felt the beaded strings of his earring thwok against his jaw. The pain of loss had faded from his memories of his parents, leaving behind a bittersweet tinge. And surpriseinly, at least to him, those memories had helped him to become a decent tracker. But that had been through grasslands. He rather suspected that the prey in this place would be sneakier. After all, this dirt would hold footprints and show which direction anythign had moved in. No prey could risk leaving a clear path to it's burrow or den.
"Rocks," he muttered again. "Smaller things like rats maybe. Look for bigger clumps of rock that could hide a hole... "
Looking up, he caught Biz's eye and winked cheerfully. He was fond of Juhudi and Nafasi, certainly, but Biz was the closest thing he'd ever had to a best friend. And he wasn't about to let anythgin near her that might hurt her.
"Whatcha think, Biz," he called merrily. "Should I try to scare up another hare for you?"
As he spoke, he moved closer and bumped his nose against her shoulder affectionately.
