Even though she could not see Atticus' face, Shira would be able to tell that he was happy. "Shira-chan, that means I will become the person that I was when we first met. The prideful, uncaring, loner. Are really prepared for that?" he asked as he then turned over to look at her, "Can you accept my darkness?"

As she entered her tent and closed her eyes, Shira would here something stirring outside and soon feel someone enter her tent. "Shira-chan, I avoided the question before but now I have to ask." Atticus said as he appeared inside of her tent, "Just what is your relationship with Despair?" he asked as this one question had been on his mind, since she spoke about him.

Atticus would stare at her for a few seconds, he would then look down and seemed sadden. "I see, so he has not tried to do anything with you?" he asked.

"So he has, and all I've done is hug you. Do you prefer him over me?" he asked as he didn't wait for her to answer, "Never mind that. You don't have to answer it." he said as his voice showed that he was deeply saddened, but his face didn't show it. "See you in the morning, Shira-chan." with those words, Atticus would exit her tent and go and sit by the fire.

While Shira was in her tent, Atticus would remain wide awake, "I know that you can hear me Despair. I also know that you saw everything that happened here. So why not come out." Atticus said as suddenly his entire presence changed, which meant that Despair was not in control of his body, "You have some nerve ordering me around, coward." Despair said as he stood up, "Seriously, I don't know why she is still with you. After today, I won't be surprised if she begins to favor me over you." he said as he went to the top of a tree and laid there. "Say, Atticus. How about we end this useless bickering and combine already." Despair offered, in which Atticus would deny. "Oh come on, you will still be you, but you will also be me as well. It's complicated but wouldn't be best for Shira?" he questioned, to which there was no response from Atticus. "I'll let you sleep on it." Despair said as he closed his eyes, and tried to got to sleep as well.

Minutes after Shira had woken up and left to adventure on her, Atticus would wake up at the top of the tree, "Despair, to think that you would be the one to suggest merging." he thought as he recalled the conversation that they held last night. Hopping down out the tree, Atticus would land in front of Shira's tent, peeping inside, he would find that Shira was already gone. "Well, I guess she wanted to be on her own for a while." he said as he then went back to the stream and watched the fish, "I don't know what happened to you, but something is indeed different about. I don't know if that is good or bad though, Despair." Atticus said, looking over into the stream, seeing Despair's reflection instead of his. "Well, I am you, so maybe you are the one that is different." Despair replied, "We were originally one, so it is safe to assume that we must become one yet again. Why not now, Atticus?" he asked. "It is because you and I are different, we have our own ideals and personality. If we were to combine, we both would stop being who we were and become something new. I don't want that." Atticus said as he threw a pebble into the stream, disrupting Despair's reflection. "Enough this talk." he said standing up and looking.

Atticus would wonder around, in search of Shira, "Where did she go? I thought she wanted us to train today?" he thought as he walked passed a deer, "Well, I guess she doesn't want to be around me right now." he muttered as he turned around and headed back to camp, "The only I can do now is train on my own."
