"Of course." It squirmed inwardly for a moment, but - waiting a bit longer wasn't going to do anything. If Jericho was in the Hunters' hands right now, it had no way of getting to him anyway, did it?
... Waiting killed her.
The thought was sudden, sharp, and treacherous; Malodore flinched, a soft, pained noise escaping its beak. The next moment it buried its face against Riley's shoulder.

Every change in Malodore's emotions felt like they were happening in her own mind. It was unnerving, to be so deeply connected to someone she could not remember, but she pushed her discomfort aside when Malodore buried itself against her. Or, we can go right now, if you like. She whispered, hushed and soothing in tone. I'm not tired, anymore. As long as you're with me, I can manage.

"Mi dispiace," it whispered against her skin. "I wanted to welcome you back properly, to... stay here with you, but..." It twined its fingers through her own. "I want Jericho to be safe, as well. I want everyone to be safe."
It let out a long sigh. "I don't want to lose anyone else, ever again."

Don't apologize. She whispered back. I like that you care. Besides, I'm not going anywhere. She dipped her head in, and brushed the flat plane of her face against the side of it's beak. You can welcome me back every other night from now until eternity. For now, we'll go check on Jericho.
She slowly pulled away, disentangling herself reluctantly in order to sit up. Losing someone isn't high on my to-do list right now, either. This is important.

It held her for a moment more, until she moved away; it followed her, a bit of the tension easing out of it. "Grazie," it said, opening its beak in a wry smile. "I admit, I am a bit afraid to look, because of what I might find... but it might make a difference, to look sooner. To know sooner."
It got up, smoothing its garments before holding a hand out to her. "Shall we, then?"

I wouldn't worry. She slid her hand into the one held out for her. I think if there was anything truly worrisome to find in his dorm, someone would have found it already. The very worst I suspect would simply be that he is not there, and we find nothing to clue us to his disappearance.
She squeezed Malodore's claws, and led it out of her dorm. But it's always worth hoping.
