“ I'll slap you so f*cking hard it'll feel like you kissed a f*cking freight train... ” XXXDamyen Reed ☆ XXTranscending TimeXX ☆ XXEternal LifeXX xXx“Better to be safe than sorry. My twitchiness has a habit to be a bit of an issue around some people since they confuse it for irritation when it's just me noticing that the room's getting smaller as more people are added to it,” Damyen responded to Trisha as he started fidgeting with the leather armband around his wrist when more people started to enter. His twitchiness was starting up although seeing the guy he only knew as the weird food addict leave lessened his twitchiness by at least a hair. So long as he didn't start hyperventilating he'd be fine, but it still made him a bit uncomfortable. And then it clicked that he'd spaced out briefly while fidgeting with his armband!
xXx“I tried the whole Every Good Boy Does Fine and the F-A-C-E memorization thing and yet it's still a pain in the arse to transfer the sheet music onto an instrument to me. What music I can play was easier to be played by sound transfer than sheet music. I'm hoping this music teacher can help me with that little issue. I left a doodle on the teacher's canvas if you'd like to see what little art I know before we head to the next class too,” he stated a bit nervously although he'd busied his hands with collecting what little he'd removed from his bag. The dark blackish-brown haired male then stood up and lightly coughed into his shoulder only to point towards the door. “I'm going to go stand by the door. Let me know when you two ladies are ready to leave since this class seems to have never started for the day.”

She looked up at the boy with the scarf. "I-I'm not a pet . . . " she said, the blush she had only got a bit darker. He could hear her at this point, but her tone was still gentle. She thought that leaving would be a good idea as well. She could at least look around the school some more to become familiar with it. Maybe she could actually make some friends, maybe. She thought it was a funny thing to think sometimes, but she usually made at least one friend when she moved from one school to the next. Melody was happy she didn't have to move anymore, but if she didn't make a friend at some point she figured she'd be a loner for the rest of her school career if you could call school a career.

"Sure, I'd love to!" Trisha said. "We should all go together. I wonder if there's a good place to just hang out until the next class starts? Because I--" She paused, watching Damyen get up to leave, her brow furrowed. Wait. What? What was he...?
She frowned and stood, shoving her things in her bag. Leaning over to Penelope, she quietly said, "Do people...twitch...when they're irritated?" She'd never noticed people getting twitchy when they were mad. Actually, she'd neve really seen anyone get twitchy, really. Fidgety maybe, but not twitchy. Not unless they had Tourette Syndrome or something--which was a perfectly valid reason to get twitchy. But Damyen--if he was so self conscious about it, why did he keep drawing attention to it? And she really wasn't sure what to say about his remarks about art and music.
He seemed to be over complicating the whole music thing from what she'd been reading. There wasn't any 'transferring' the music to the instrument. It was just a matter of memorizing what finger positions made what notes and where the notes went on the page.
In any case, he got up and walked away before she could really reply so there wasn't much she could say to that anyway. "Hey!" she said to the other two people. "We were all going to go hang out until the next class. Would you like to come with us? Oh, by the way," she told Reiner, "That is a great scarf! I totally love it! Just seeing you with it makes me wish I'd worn one of mine!"...Trust in me, the steps you take trust in the mistakes you make.

Penelope

Penelope blinked and shook her head. "I... um. Everyone has their own... things... quirks." She made a face, unsure of what else to say, but fortunately Trisha's attention went elsewhere rather quickly. She was certainly a social butterfly wasn't she? Penelope was happy to have the girl as her roommate, but she was beginning to suspect that she was going to end up being in a lot of situations where she had to... talk, because of it. Still, she found it rather odd that Daymen had bolted for the door like that. Maybe... this many people was already too many for him? There didn't seem to be that many people in the classroom, but still, she didn't know how many was too many. She had practically just met the guy after all.
She wasn't sure whether she should go and join Daymen by the door, or stay and wait for the response of the other two students with Trisha. It might seem like the only one who really wanted them to come and hang out with them was Trisha if Penelope didn't stay, but if she didn't go over towards Daymen would he... maybe... think that she was more interested in this group of people than in him? N-not in a romantic sense of course, but- ... why was she justifying her thoughts to herself? She knew what she meant. She fidgeted slightly. Well, she'd just stay put for now... Didn't want to seem rude...

ℛeiner ℋolt Reiner glanced down at the girl when she spoke up again, and what she said caused a few more odd thoughts to bubble up in his head. He had already mentally established that she was like a goldfish, which could be considered pets. But why were they called pets? No one pets fish. But, then again, no one pets birds, and those were as much of pets as cats and dogs. So then she was like a pet. Being a pet wasn't a bad thing, since they're usually considered part of the family, but he knew that it felt like a derogatory term to some people. He nodded to himself in understanding and to her in agreement, finally deciding that she was like a pet, but she wasn't one.
He watched the guy in the group across the room head for the door, and waited for the rest of the group to follow. He was surprised when one of the girls spoke to them, and even more surprised when she mentioned his scarf. He looked down at it, unsure which one he decided to wear today. Ah, the blue one. It was his second favorite, since it had the little tassels at the ends that he liked. It was embarrassing to pick it out of the girl's section, but it was worth it. He blushed at the compliment and pulled the scarf up over his nose to hide it. He nodded in response to her question and mumbled a small "thanks" through his teeth. He loathed to speak, but other scarf enthusiasts deserved genuine gratitude.
He looked past the talkative blonde to the other girl (wow, there were a lot of girls in the room; he was sure he was going to mix them up eventually), wondering why she seemed as quiet as the goldfish girl all of a sudden. Before, she was talking... er, stuttering up a storm, but now she wasn't doing much of anything. Was she... dead? No, she couldn't be. At least, he hoped not. To confirm or disprove his suspicions, he stepped past the blonde girl and grabbed her hand, placing his fingers on her wrist to check her pulse.❝...❞ [Hope you don't mind that I did little tiny godmod there, Magic. She jumped slightly when the white haired girl called over to them although it seemed a bit more like a small shout to her. She looked over at the girl and smiled sheepishly, her cheeks still tinted a dark pink-red. "U-uh . . . s-sure . . . ?" she agreed, but wasn't sure if the girl did it to be nice or because she felt like she had to. Hopefully it was the first one since Melody never wanted to be a burden. Where were they even going to go? Not that she really cared where, but she was a bit curious.
Her eyes followed the boy that had patted her head as he walked over to another girl, grabbed her wrist, and pressed his fingers to her wrist like he was trying to find her pulse. She smiled a little finding it funny how he patted her on the head, but checked the other girl for a pulse. Now she got the feeling that the other students in the school would be rather interesting and comical.

“ I'll slap you so f*cking hard it'll feel like you kissed a f*cking freight train... ” XXXDamyen Reed ☆ XXTranscending TimeXX ☆ XXEternal LifeXX xXxStanding quietly by the door, the half-Russian, half-Egyptian male watched as the blonde female interacted with the others in the room and somewhat envied her. He hadn't been claustrophobic around people until after his step-father tried seeing if there was anything he hadn't been opening up about since his parents deaths. After having a spazzing attack in an isolation tank, it just felt like rooms started to shrink everytime someone entered into the room and stayed. Damyen was getting better about getting into larger groups of people again, but he had a habit of situating himself on the edge of any groups he did get in. Unfortunately for today, he'd opted for sitting in the middle-ish area of the room so he could sit by the only person he knew and being sandwiched between four people had almost got him to start scratching at his wrists beneath the armbands. The most it'd gotten to, however, was a slight constricted feeling in his chest and just fidgeting with his armbands.
xXxNoticing when Trisha had offered for the other two to come join them, the dark haired male felt like hitting his head against a wall but didn't. He just remained leaning up against the wall with one hand gripping the strap to his bag and flashed a brief, calm smile at those in the room. He could be patient, although now that he thought about it, having spedwalked over to the door probably didn't make him seem all that patient. I'll apologize for running over to the door and just explain that I'm working on my fear of small enclosures and groups of people over four people, including myself, thanks to my psychiatrist completely destroying it by having me sit in an isolation tank for God knows how long... I sound like such a pansy... And if they ever saw those...! I hope this school doesn't have a guidance counsellor that other students can tattle to should I seem a little more off-my-rocker than I already do. I don't need that talk again, he groaned in the back of his head.
xXxShaking his head briefly, Damyen really needed to stop getting lost in his thoughts today. He'd just come out with being a regular teenager trying to get over his claustrophobia thus why he liked remaining a wallflower and near an exit when there were more than three people around him. Now just to hope no one would find it funny that a psychiatrist, let alone his step-dad, caused him to start noticing how little space there was as more people were added to the room around him.

Trish McAllen We can give the world its shape feel the currents toss and shift... "You're welcome!" Trisha said, watching the boy check Penny's pulse sort of out of the blue. Hm. That was weird. But may he thought she looked faint or something and he didn't seem the type to talk a lot--there were a lot of those types in this school weren't there. "Anyway, I'm Trisha!" she said to the scarf boy and the messy-haired girl next to him (not that there was anything wrong with messy hair. It had its own sort of charm when done right.) "It's really great to meet you both. I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around a lot since, well, there are only two classes--well, three if you count spell casting--and we share a dorm and everything. Saying of which, I'm really looking forward to spell casting. Have some of you already been in the class before, what's it like? I've actually never done any real magic before so I'm not sure what to expect but it seems like it's going to be a lot of fun."
"I dont' even know what my element is--I actually spent a lot of time reading about about the elemental magic taught here and it's really interesting, I have to say. I'm really looking forward to experiencing it and finding out more about it because unfortunately the information available outside the school is pretty limited. It's sort of frustrating since I really like doing my research when being introduced to new things." She gathered her things and headed for the door, still prattling on.
"I find it a little strange some of the things are considered 'elements' though. Well, I mean, actually all of them are a little strange since none of them are actually elements in the scientific sense. But since they did, at one time, and in some archaic sciences consider earth, air, fire and water to be the material elements, I can at least understand those. They're tangible, at any rate. But life and death and some of the others are a little strange. It's really interesting though....."
She paused, realizing that she was a little out of breath and had been going on for a while. "Ah...haha. Sorry about that," she said, laughing sheepishly....Trust in me, the steps you take trust in the mistakes you make.

Penelope

She saw the boy approaching her, but wasn't entirely certain what he was up to.. until he grabbed her hand and pressed his fingers to her wrist, causing her to flinch. What was he doing? checking her pulse? Why? It didn't make any sense to her. After all, they had just met. What would cause him to do something so... uncomfortable? was it some sort of foreign greeting or something? She gently slipped her hands out of his grasp and took a step back, bumping into a desk behind her in the process. "Um... Hi?..."
It felt like the rest of the students in the classroom were focused on their odd exchange, if not for more than at least a moment. She was definitely more interested in following Trisha to the door than standing here and staring down some silent scarved boy, so she hesitantly turned to do so... and ended up smacking a knee against a piece of the desk she had previously bumped into when she was backing up. attempting desperately to not topple over from the abrupt and surprising pain, she hopped a few steps to the side before attempting to put any weight back on her leg. Well, that was embarrassing, and certainly wasn't any sort of excuse for a clean getaway. Maybe she could cover it up by jumping into the ongoing conversation?
"I-I-I Was... was thinking that too. A-about the elements I mean." She said, blushing. "I... They're not really your... your stereotypical um... usual european magical elements are they? I-I mean, I guess there... there isn't really anything "stereotypical" about it when... well, when one is talking about... about magic..."

ℛeiner ℋolt Reiner sighed in relief when he felt a pulse, though it was concerning how fast it was. And she looked a bit... scared, maybe? He wasn't the greatest at reading emotions, but he assumed he was at least close when the backed up awkwardly and bumped into a desk. He covered his mouth (which was pointless since the scarf was already doing that, but he did it anyway) as he tried to keep himself from laughing. He already felt bad for bothering her, so he didn't want to embarrass her more.
Luckily, he had a distraction when the blonde girl (who he now had a name for, since it was getting a bit confusing with all the girls in the room) began rambling again. He nodded every few sentences so it wouldn't seem like he was staring off into space while she was talking. It wasn't like he wasn't listening though. He was just more interested in how long she could talk for than what she was actually saying. Though, the whole magic thing was mind blowing to him. He didn't realize that the school taught magic as well until after he signed up. He didn't really believe it and was fairly certain that the class would just be like the history of magic or something, but he would definitely give it a chance and wait until the class before passing judgement.
He glanced back at the awkward girl when he heard a noise that sounded like some sort of impact, and as expected, the girl hurt herself again. This time, he couldn't help but chuckle a little, then cringed when it hurt. He looked up at the clock on the wall and realized that it was time for the next class. He really didn't want to be late, but the way the awkward girl hobbled to the side worried him, since technically, it was his fault that she got hurt. Then again, the phrase 'do you need help?' was long, and his jaw was already aching a little just by laughing. But politeness ruled over pain and he hesitantly offered by mumbling, "Help?" In case she accepted the offer, he started thinking of the quickest way to get to class with someone with a bruised knee, but all he could come up with was slinging her over his shoulder and jogging there. But then there was her friend, Trisha, too, so he would have to carry her as well. And he couldn't just leave the goldfish alone, so he would have to take her as well. He would just have to think of a way to do it with only two arms. ❝...❞ (Bleh, the internet is fighting me right now. D=<)

Maybe she'd find a smaller group of people to make friends with. Sure, she was shy and all, but she never had trouble making friends in the past. The brunette stood up and grabbed her bag from next to her. She glanced at the three, but didn't smile. People here were defiantly different from what she was used to. It could prove to be a bit of a challenge maybe, but that was fine by her. She glanced at the clock before she put her bag over her shoulder then straightened out her shirt. Without a word she walked over to the door, passed the black haired boy that awaited the three people in the classroom, and left without as much as a goodbye or a smile.

Trish McAllen We can give the world its shape feel the currents toss and shift...
"I suppose element is just sort of a word they use to describe them," Trisha said, following Penny toward the door as she started that way. The other girl with messy hair had already left so it was probably time for them all to head out. "I mean, I guess if it started with just the usual four and expanded it might have been a little difficult to come up with a new word for them that sounded as nice as 'element' and--oh, hey are you alright?" she asked as the other girl banged her knee on the desk. Wow. This class was really accident prone and a little odd. Was that boy checking her pulse?
Goodness. What a strange bunch of people.
"Penelope, should I take you down to the infirmary to check your knee? You hit it pretty hard and I don't mind taking you down there. Even if it's just a small bump, it's always nice to put ice on it. You can reduce swelling that way and, you know, your legs are too nice for you to have to go around with bruises and all that. I mean, it would be a shame, don't you think? I--"
She was cut off again, when the boy said 'help.' Startled, she gave him a concerned look. Was he hurt now too?
"Help? Are you okay? Is something wrong? Are you not feeling well? I can take you both to the clinic then. I mean, not that you need an escort but it's always nice just in case something more happens on the way there and all that and I don't mind. we can always explain to the teacher what happened. Because, really, health should come before studies so I'm sure they won't mind as long as we have a note from the doctor."
"Maybe...?"...Trust in me, the steps you take trust in the mistakes you make.

Penelope

"A-ah. er. N-no no wait, I'm fine. Totally fine." Penelope was having a hard time keeping up with Trisha as she rambled. "I was just s-surprised is all. Nothing... Nothing fatal or anything, I'll be-... be..." She trailed off, not quite able to finish. Something about something Trisha had said made her very nervous, but she had already said so much since that point that she couldn't really decide just exactly what it was. Thankfully it appeared that the main focus now was on the silent boy who had grabbed her hand. She was standing closer to him, so she had managed to hear his single word slightly better than Trisha. Had been able to hear a bit of inflection that made it sound to her, more like a question than anything else. "u-um... I think he means... Th-that is, no thank you. It's ah... very kind of you a-and all, but I'm fine. really." She took a step to the side, towards the door, to prove that she was uninjured. "See?... But ah... but we well, we should probably be... we should probably get going... I-I think, I think the next class... Our next class, starts soon. A-and I don't really... bruise too... easily..."
Oh, was that what had made her nervous? Well, more than usual at least? Trisha had thrown some sort of comment about her having nice legs into one of her sentences hadn't she? Penelope blushed and gently tugged at her skirt. She had always thought her legs were much too long personally. She supposed she couldn't really complain about a compliment, but it still made her feel a little... flustered. Which honestly wasn't an uncommon reaction of hers.

ℛeiner ℋolt Reiner was glad to see Trisha was concerned about the clumsy girl too, but inwardly cursed her for mentioning her legs. Since she pointed it out, he couldn't help but check, but then his fear of looking like a pervert forced him to quickly pull his eyes away. She did have a point though. They were long. And then he caught himself unconsciously looking again. He slowly pulled his scarf over the rest of his face, feeling ashamed and embarrassed. He was happy to hear that she was fine though. But the same couldn't be said for himself, apparently.
He adjusted his scarf into its usual position as Trisha began speaking to him, suddenly asking if he was okay or if something was wrong. He honestly had no clue what she was talking, and the more and more she spoke, the more terrified he was of what could have made her think something was wrong with him. He looked around the room frantically, in the slim hope that she was speaking to someone else. But no, it was only him, the clumsy girl, that one guy by the door, and Trisha (where had the goldfish girl gone?). There had to be something wrong. He looked down at himself, but nothing seemed different. He felt his scarf just in case, but it was covering everything.
He stared at Trisha like a deer caught in headlights when she finally stopped talking. Now what? She was going to take him to the infirmary? If he went to the infirmary, they would do a check-up on him. And if they did a check-up, they would ask him to remove his scarf. ...
He immediately bolted out the door without a second thought.

"Oh...he ran away," Trisha said, watching with great interest as Reiner bolted. Ah well. She flashed Penelope a smile. "So shall we head to music? I mean, if you're okay walking with me--if you're not, that's okay too. Don't be afraid to speak up. I know I talk a lot. My parents used to think it was a nervous habit but it turns out, I just have a lot to say. There's just so much in my brain and it all tries to come out at once in a jumble and half the time I don't even realize I'm rambling until someone tells me to shut up, or hits me in the head with a book."
"Though I'd appreciate it if you don't do the latter too often. I bruise super easily."
With that, she shouldered her bag and started toward the door.
"Art was kind of a bust so I'm really eager to see how music goes. Has to be more interesting than a class where the teacher doesn't even show up, right?"...Trust in me, the steps you take trust in the mistakes you make. [exits to music?]
