Halliviere hugged her best friend back and smiled. She couldn't resist, she simply had to brag. Just this once, she would allow herself to be a bit vain. "Heh, naturally I have already sold quite a few things. As expected of a genius businesswoman such as myself!" She pet Rook gently, thoroughly pleased that things were looking up for her. Then, she became serious once again. "I am glad to see you and the others are all safe. I still fear for the villagers who decided to take refuge in their own homes instead. Who knows what will happen during this storm." Shaking her head lightly, she tried to rid herself of the dark thoughts. "And, how are things on your end, your Highness?" she asked, giving a mock bow in good humor.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira chuckled at her friend's comment, but it was soon replaced with concern. "I know what you mean... I worry for the citizens that decided to stay behind as well... Hopefully they have a good enough home to get by... If they don't, the castle gates will remain open for them. Just in case." She glanced around, seeing how there were a few guards looking through her friend's merchandise. "Hey....where's Almas? Wasn't he with you?"

Halliviere gave an indignant huff at the mention of the knight. "If you are looking for him, then wait a moment or two. He went to do something but said he would return. And, if you would kindly turn your head to the side, you can also see the entire rack of hilt moldings he knocked over during one of his 'victory dances'." She swept her hand elegantly in the direction of the mass of metal and leather that a few men were trying to pick up. She glanced out the corner of her eye back to Seira. "You, my dear friend, certainly have your hands full."

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira blinked, somewhat confused. "You think so? Hmm... Well, we'll see. He still has to go through the training of the Captain of the Guard, and if that doesn't do anything, then I can always think of something..." She shrugged, looking at the mess that Almas had apparently created. She sighed softly, then smiled gently once more and gave Rook a gentle pet. "Well, we'll see when we see him..."

No sooner than she had said those words had Almas burst into the room, making a face that clearly spoke of distress. "Ah...yes, well...sorry about your armor, but we have bigger things to think about! The wind is rattling the buildings outside pretty hard. The storm is getting dangerously close!" He maintained dignity, but the level of alarm was unmistakable.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira studied him briefly for a moment before replying quietly, "And what do you plan for us to do...? There is nothing else we can do. That's why I asked you to bring in everyone you could from out there, because the storm was going to be really bad..." She sighed softly, glancing around the room. The suite did have windows, but the shutters had been closed by the guards, so one would not be able to see how the storm was progressing. She thought for a moment, then glanced between her two friends. "Hey... You guys haven't seen my pet, have you...?"

Almas only grunted in dismay, knowing that it would be too late to employ his trench idea or the gated barricade to give water safe passage. The storm was just coming too fast. "I suppose, you are right...just can't help worryin', ya know? Anyways, what's this about pets and things?" His mood taking a complete 180. He hated talking about depressing things anyways. He flexed the area his wings once occupied as if to prove a point. To who, he did not know.

Halliviere couldn't help but turn her face in an upright grin. 'It would seem my previous assessment was wrong.' Stepping from behind her that counter she had returned to, she stood by her friends once again. "You have a pet? I wonder if it would be the type that Rook would make friends with? I would love to see it." She got a sort of dreamy look in her eyes. "I have always loved animals, especially furry ones." Rook took that moment to dash up towards the group and pounce on Halliviere's legs, clinging to her skin like spandex.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira smiled brightly at her friends' words. She noticed the strange scratching of his back, but shrugged it off, figuring he had an itch. Reaching into her pocket, she slowly withdrew a thin flute. Placing her lips on it, she blew softly, and a sweet, slowly ascending note filled the room, causing the other guards that were there to stare at her in wonder. From the open doorway came an elegant forest green phoenix with wings wide spread. It hovered for a moment, assessing everyone in the room, before gliding over and landing on Seira's right shoulder, leaning forward slightly and gazing at Almas intently. "I don't know about furry, but I'm sure Flora wouldn't mind playing with Rook. She's really gentle, and eats fruits, so she wouldn't want to eat him." She smiled brightly, lightly stroking Flora's emerald feathers, not noticing that her dear pet was still staring at Almas.

Halliviere gazed in wonder at the beautiful bird. "She certainly is magnificent! I have never seen a green phoenix before. Yellow and red, yes, but none of such a lush color." Rook, however, was of a different opinion as he scrambled into Halliviere's arms and dug his claws into her vest. "Rook, this lovely bird means you no harm. Come out and say hi," but the poor fox kit would have none of it as he only ducked deeper into her arms.
Halliviere sighed deeply. "Please forgive him, he is only a small kit and still fears many things. It will take a bit of coaxing to get him to accept Flora as a friend." Conceding to the kit's whims, she clutched the poor baby fox tighter to herself, sheltering it as a mother would. Rook began to relax a bit in response.

When Almas saw the bird fly in, he whistled, quite impressed. Personally, he never cared for a pet of his own, he never had the time, but he did like them."I can honestly say I never saw such a big birdie before. She's really somethin'." He was amazed by the bird, but took a couple steps back as it perched on Seira's shoulder, more than a little unnerved by the intense gaze. He then glanced over at his furry little friend having a mini panic attack. He could see why such a young fox would be scared of the bird. His eyes returned to marvel at the phoenix again, but it was still eyeing him like prey. "Ahehe...you sure the pretty bird don't bite?" He asked as a joke, but inside he vehemently hoped it didn't.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Flora blinked once, her black eyes gazing deeply into Almas' very soul, or so it seemed. Once she had blinked, she turned to nuzzle the cheek of her master lovingly, closing her eyes enough so that her gaze could still secretly watch the trembling little kit. Seira on the other hand, smiled brightly and adressed Almas' question. "No, she doesn't bite. Not at all. But, I have heard from my soldiers and guards that when she stares at you, it's like she's staring into their souls." Her eyes grew large with drama as she spoke, causing her phoenix to chirp somewhat. It was a soft musical note. Seira giggled a bit, and continued soon afterwards. "And sometimes, they say that they hear a voice in their head that tells them things, and that it's female." She turned to Hal. "And don't worry. He'll be able to get used to her easily. She's very protective and motherly."

Halliviere gave an exasperated laugh and stroked the kit gently. "It would be lovely if that were to happen. Rook's claws are quite sharp." The red clad Ean woman made a small tugging motion at the kit, but he just sank his claws in deeper. Halliviere released a sigh and went back to hugging the poor furball tighter. "And you, Almas, that lovely phoenix is not going to eat you. Have some pride about yourself."

Almas made a stared at the bird just as intently, determined to stare the feathered lovely down, until it blinked. 'HA! Take that! Who's the big bird now?' Straightening up, he cleared his throat, thankful that inner thoughts were just that, 'inner' thoughts. "Staring into their souls, you say? Now where would they get such an insane idea, Your Highness?" It took the willpower of the gods not to roll his eyes and let his sarcasm show. He was about to say more, when Havi made a comment about him showing pride. Again! It took the strenght of Heaven not to flex just a few muscles to lift his hand and flip her off.
