s**t this hurt a lot. And man. Did Deryk mentioned that this week seriously sucked? And the figure. It wouldn't leave him alone as he fought the crystals back as much as he could. Merlin... he was a pretty angry guy wasn't he? Wanting all this revenge..
Wincing, he moved back towards the door in front of Ariane, ready to try and knock some fragments back. He didn't think he could last too much longer.

"It's fine, I... we'll be okay," Madison said, quietly. She swayed, the stiff feeling of crystal encrusting her side a horror to her even as she faltered. She could hear the sound now, the whispers - not whispers of home but of revenge. Merlin's anger reverberated through the crystals. Clumsily, she brought Kouki's blades down against another cluster, shattering them.

"We'll find a way to get through this... One way or another.."
Deryk slashed through one of the fragments with Tooley, trying to utilize every last ounce of energy he had left in him. He let out a cry as he felt the crystals moving in on him even more. Looking down, he could see them growing at a rapid pace all around his body. It hurt. It hurt like hell. Biting his lip to try and keep himself from crying out, he could soon taste a bit of blood as he was biting himself that hard.
But he couldn't take it. The hunter let out a scream, arching back as the crystals consumed him entirely. Only silence followed after.

"WILSON!"
He'd seen the trainee fall, Gale scrabbling across the rocks and cursing Caelius with every breath he could manage to take. The headache that had been ringing in his head for hours now seemed to make things difficult and Gale swung the rifle around, trying to get to the others. Madison was here - he'd caught a glimpse of her bright colored hair, and he thought he'd seen Jude and Ariane somewhere - but -
"Deryk - Deryk, no - "
There was a sharp crack as one of the crystals collided with his gun, and then another, slightly muffled thump as it slid off and down his arm, leaving behind a jagged line. Gale let out a hiss of pain, his eyes flickering away from where he'd last seen Deryk collapse -
- and his gaze widened as the blood flickered, then solidified, spreading along his arm.

"DERYK YOU b*****d, NO!" Jude suddenly let out a frustrated cry at the figure that now had no ability to move or do anything. "s**t. s**t. s**t..."
Feeling tired and weighed down but he still struck out at the crystals as much as he could, "STUFF YOUR REVENGE UP YOUR a**," Jude snarled suddenly at the voices he heard.
Jude was obviously not in his happy place.

The anger that had flowed through him at the sight of that Insanity creature tearing up his home had resurfaced at the sight of Wilson and Deryk disappearing beneath the flow of the crystals and the fact that Caelius, damned Caelius, had left them all here, just as he always did.
Somewhere up ahead, Gale could see Jude, hear his angry shout, but -
"JINHAI!"
The cry came not from a shout in his head, but echoed from his throat, and he could almost feel the dragon inside of his mind thrashing about, trying to keep him sane, keep him from losing it, but it was too late. Angrily Gale swung the rifle around, firing off several shots that resounded in the cavern. He could see the crystal fragments rising, circling, spinning around and for a brief moment there was something there -

"Deryk-!" The cry strangled in Madison's throat as tears stung her eyes. She had to... she had to keep going. She couldn't run now. She was too far gone already. Her senses flared again as she weakly smacked the flat of a blade into more crystals. Merlin - <********>, how was it doing this? The depth of that hatred, intensified into something so pure after so long...
She was dizzy, weakening. The end would be a relief. Slowly, Madison forced herself to move upwards. She would stand with Ariane as a sentinel.

Ah there was Gale's voice. Madison's cry. Was this how it was going to end? Another chunk of crystal fell from above and smashed against the FEAR shield making him wince. Was this...

He tried to call out, but his throat was dry and his chest felt heavy, as though weighed down by everything that seemed to be closing in on everything. It wasn't that he even knew Madison that well, but he had been trying, he'd been working on getting out of that little secure bubble of his and stepping out of his comfort zone -
And then she was gone too.

Another slice against his face this time over his forehead and more crystallized blood, Jude let out a small upset sound as he reached up to touch his forehead. Madison had gone and he wasn't sure what it meant for him, "Gale...Ariane...who....Just go. You should try to go...Get out," he tried to urge.
Get out. Get help. Get out. Help...He...
Then Jude felt searing pain and his limbs stiffen entirely and he couldn't move. He couldn't move anything he...
...Was gone.

He was almost to Jude - almost - and he could hear the other talking, hear the slow, hoarse voice.
"Jude," said Gale, and struggled towards him, reaching out his hand - he was almost there -
- and then he was gone. And Gale could feel his own strength depleting. He closed his eyes briefly, feeling the exhaustion beginning to settle in his bones, in his arms and legs.

Stop it.
This isn't fair.
Don't take what little I have left away from me.
He was collapsing now, the crystals climbing up his legs. They weren't heavy, but Gale could feel the weight of them sinking into him, the last fragments of his strength completely dissipating. He lifted his face, trying in vain to search out the bodies of his fallen comrades, but the crystals slid up his throat, encased his neck.
