"Yeah," Roch said. "Looks like me and Tex had a lot in common, even in taste--except the cowboil thing," he said. But he looked pretty happy about it.
"Oh Amphi!!" Monica wailed. "I'm trying SO HARD to make a good impression today! But its so hard! I want them to look at me and think that I'm--I'm worthy of being invited to their big dinners and parties and introduced to their beautiful wives--" She took a deep breath. "But I don't think they're even thinking about that. I dressed so nicely, too," she said with a pout, tugging at her dress.

Amphi flushed as she looked at Monica and shook her head. "I don't understand. Monica is fine the way she is!" The mermaid came to comfort the ghoul, wrapping her little arms around her. "I love your dress!" the mermaid exclaimed and then frowned.
"I don't understand why you think your not worthy! Your kind and caring and beautiful and sweet and nice and gives treats and...and...and..." amphi took a deep breath, "Anyone who can't respect you for that should go drown in a well..."
Or something like that.

Danny's Monica senses were tingling. For some strange, odd reason, she pulled out her phone and took a picture of the pick in her hands, and then sent a text to the old ghoul.Text to Monica because you can't stop me ice look what roch gave me!!! (((:

"They took the pups for a walk and Gramp's and Monica's new pup to them," Roch said. "And eye scream, I think. Which sort of pisses me off, cuz I wanna take Amphi for eye scream, but eh, I got work to do, so its better that someone can in my place, y'know?" Clearly HE did trust his old man--in this at least. "Oh, Amphi, you don't understand--" Monica said slowly. "When I was your age I made some very bad decisions. I was--well, I thought I knew best, and I left my family and started living on the streets. It... well... I did things that--that I'm very ashamed of now. Things I can't take back. And now, well, I'm still a pole dancer, but Vegas--he's so kind to me. He treats me like a lady! And--and I want to BE a lady for him." Then she stopped, pulling out her phone and smiling. "Oh, Roch gave Danny a present!" Text to Danny It's lovely, Danny, congrats!

"So how does that not make you respectable?" Amphi was confused, "You made i through life and now your here with Vegas!" She was wary of Vegas now...he was a crafty old man. And he could pull fast things on people.
Was he pulling something on Monica?
"I think Vegas likes you as you are! Doesn't he tell you that your his lady?" she cocked her head.
Amphi was still confused. "Was it a pick!?!?" She moved to lean over to look at the picture. "Oh, I wonder if Danny will like her puppy!"

Danny looked at Roch with a very judgmental look on her face. "Nobody should want to get eye scream." She nodded very matter of factly.
The phone buzzed, and she shoved it in Roch's face. "Look how much more your gramma loves me than you!!" She hugged the phone close. Danny loved her Monica.

He grinned. "Cuz Monica's the best," Roch said bluntly. "Only family member I would willingly claim to love."
"Oh, but Amphi," Monica said, "I'm still... um... well there's a certain type of female that good women with husbands and scarelings and quilting groups, or something--maybe they even have tea parties--well I'm the type of female that they don't... invite to those things," she said softly. "Or I was. I--I'm trying to become the type that they DO invite. I think the dress is a nice start, don't you?"
"That's right, little Amphi just loves my Monica," Vegas said downstairs. "They're real close friends. Might be a while before she comes back down, ghoul talk, you know."
"The lady was asking the other day," one of the men said, "when you're going to make an honest woman out of that ghoul of yours."
Vegas almost choked on his beer.

"i still don't understand! Your being nice to me and I am a scareling!" Amphi wasn't trying to get frustrated by the confusion of Monica. Monica was the best after all. That was just how it simply worked for the mermaid.
People were the BEST to Amphi. Like Roch and Danny and Maybe Rikki. MAYBE rikki.
"Me and Danny and Roch will have tea with you!" Amphi said and nodded, "Your dress is very beautiful!" Amphi rubbed her chin and sighed, "I don't come from a proper ghoul background though so maybe I am not understanding this like you want me too. I really do think Monica is the best, and if those men and women can't see it well....You'll just have to leave it to me!"
She thought about it carefully, "I am a princess of a mermaid clan though, So maybe I can tell them that Monica is the best kinda of ghoul ever and that those ladies should be ashamed that they hadn't let such a prestigious-" yeah that was a good word to use, "and noble caring women join them. Besides!" She slipped her hand in Monica's, "If they knew the real you, and accepted you for it, wouldn't that make them good friends?"

"Hey what about Vegas? Has he met Amphi?" she said, standing up and offering a hand to help Roch up. They had to go back to work sometime!

Roch snorted. "I told you, Dad and Amphi just went to take him his puppy. Now go back to work, we gotta get as much done as we can--I want to get some sleep tonight."
"Oh, you and Danny are the BEST friends a ghoul could ask for, no matter what those ghouls say," Monica said, hugging the mermaid ghoul tightly. "You're just so precious! Roch is the luckiest boil in the world!"
Then she pulled out her phone again--and turned bright red as she saw the message. "Ohhh, this day has just gotten a million times better!" she exclaimed as she read Danny's text.
"Well... now... um..." Vegas said.
Austin had popcorn.

Amphi squeaked as she held the undead ghoul close and smiled. "Yes! If you ever have a problem, you should ask me and Danny! We like you a lot Monica." Amphi was being super serious, "And when your sad, it makes me sad. So you can't be sad." She squeezed the undead again and blinked.
"Well I am glad that is cleared up!! Now, I gotta get clean and stuff cause I need to go back to Roch. Or well...His dad said we might getting Eye scream and stuff but....Did you want to talk about anything else?" Ther mermaid wanted to make sure Monica would be alright, and then she would-
Oh no...Oh no. She knew who the problem was though. Vegas! Vegas hadn't said that he liked the new lady Monica! SHE WAS ON TO YOU VEGAS!
"Maybe I should talk to Vegas! I'll tell him that your a proper lady and he needs to show some respect or...or...I will sock him." Again, another thing she was picking up from her duo friends.

"But you said-" A frown tugged at the corners of Danny's lips. She didn't like that Austin was with Amphi, but if Vegas was there it'd be okay. She loved Vegas. It was really sad that she had the entire thing twisted around, but oh well. Couldn't do anything about it.
She pulled Roch up and said, "Don't worry, you'll sleep. I'm here so we'll probably finish it all tonight!"

And Roch went back to work. "Oh, eye scream!" Monica said, now happy as can be. She was typing up a text to Danny as she talked to Amphi. "Austin's such a good boil," she went on as she pushed the send button. "He might seem a little tough on Roch, but he loves him very, very much! But I don't see how someone COULDN'T love our Rochy," she admitted. "He's such a sweet boil. You two make such a CUTE couple! But I need to go back downstairs and show everyone how much of a lady I am, and YOU need to go get eye scream with Austin! Make him tell you stories about when Roch was little, or make him play that recording of Roch playing that he has on his phone!"

"Monica says she loves you too!" Danny shouted from across the stage, melding two pieces of steel together with one hand, holding her cell phone with the other.
Danny put the steel down and brushed her hands off. Even her flames needed a break! She'd run out of FEAR if she did it all too quickly.
"You know the other day," Danny said mindlessly, "Amphi asked if you'd kissed me before?" Danny stuck out her tongue, that gross bile flavor coming up again. Her flames sputtered out, but she smacked her hand against her leg until it lit again. Stupid FEAR.

"Austin has been really nice to me so far!" Amphi agreed and then nodded. "Yes! Eye scream..." The mermaid was bouncing like a child! "Oh but...Austin has a recording of Roch?" It must be so cute!
"Okay! I'll go down first so you can come down all regal like and pretty and stuff. Like a proper lady!" Amphi raced downstairs, over to Austin and Vegas and clearly announced...
"Monica Lady is coming downstairs! Be nice to her." She poked the older man in the arm and then looked over to Austin.
Again struck in awe by older Roch.
