THE BON JOVI MYSTERY: Still no clear indication of what is going on in Bon Jovi land, but if recent reports are accurate - especially the absolutely horrid reviews coming in from the band's final European show at Hull in the UK - it seems there is definite tension within the band, most likely between frontman Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora. All the reviews of the Hull show say frontman JBJ could not hide his foul mood on stage and barely acknowledged Richie all night. I learnt overnight that negotiations with the band to bring them to Moncton, New Brunswick in Canada were well underway before also being abruptly terminated. The band have a handful of North American dates left, culminating in one final show at Giants Stadium, NJ, July 29. Stay tuned...
Found that online.

Bon Jovi - Rumours Of Impending Break-Up Beginning To Spread From the "believe half of what you see and none of what you hear" files, rumour has it that BON JOVI frontman Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora aren't getting along, to the point that everything planned for after July 29th has been scrapped. It's all talk at this point, but fan reviews from the band's June 13th show in Hull, UK, found here, would indicate that singer and guitarist have unresolved issues that are taking their toll on their collective performance.

13 June 2006 - Hull, UK Concert Review A poor display A review by Jason
resigned to the fact that with work commitments,we would be in the outer gold circle and not reaching Hull until 5.30 (in the pouring rain) that we would settle for a place at the back of the outer circle in some space.we went to 3 official car parks that wouldnt let us in 2 were my fault for not ordering a car park pass but the third they shut the barriers when the car park was only half full.we had to chance a shop carpark where there was a possibility of getting clamped, lucky for us we wernt. so another show another moan.but that was only the beguining of our moans.we got into the stadium for about 7pm and took our position at the rear of the outer gold circle and waited in the rain. the show began with last man standing.from the off we could tell jon and the boys were definatly not in the mood and there was hardly any banter or eye contact between jon and richie.tico wasnt his usual smiling self and even hugh was worn out. they played a half decent setlist for 2 hours and 5 mins.they sang and played the songs ok but nothing more than just "ok". we left hull with a sad feeling and dissapointment and in my honest opinion this concert shouldnt have taken place,i thought the band should have been a little more proffesional even if they really didnt want to be there and just tried a little harder to make it a night to remember.i will forget hull and pretend milton keynes on sunday was the last show ive seen this tour. i am glad i went but just wished the lads had done us proud. before everyone gets on at me,the sound and technical stuff were excellent and it was louder than manchester. i would be happy to hear everyone elses opinions about hull but out of the four shows ive seen this tour it was a good 50% poorer than the Sunday at milton keynes.

13 June 2006 - Hull, UK Concert Review SHORTCHANGED A review by nicnico
Mmmmm.I also got the impression they didn't want to be there.I haven't seen them before but reading reviews of other gigs was looking forward to seeing almost 3 hours of Rock'n'Roll and an electric atmosphere.I agree the stage set, lighting and sound were great. The set list good (apart from no Dry County & only one encore). But to me they just seemed to be going through the motions - don't get me wrong we had a ball, but there was very little banter with the audience. And then all of a sudden after the first encore it stopped.Stadium lights go on and they start dismantling the stage. Perhaps they were knackered, ready to go home, pissed at the weather or crowd, but for some reason they didn't want to perform any longer than they had to -any ideas anybody? After paying £120 for 2 tickets I think I'm entitled to a little more commitment! However, believe it or not I did enjoy the 2 hours they did play.
Also taken from drycounty.com ---------- It's sad they didn't play for as long as they normally did. They must be pissed because I thought the fams came first in their eyes..

13 June 2006 - Hull, UK Concert Review Bitterly Disappointed and let down A review by Gillybean
Well, I've been a fan for 21 years but only been to 7 shows, even so I know things weren't right and I have something to compare with. OK it goes against my bon jovi religion to even say what I'm about to but I have to get it off my chest. Let me start by saying I agree with all the comments that others have made and I felt all the things they did. Don't get me wrong, I had a ball and I love the guys to bits but having read all the reviews I was expecting much more from them. Maybe it was the bad weather (and I felt the stadium was a great venue)but it lacked atmosphere, no mexican waves and no-one standing when the boys came on. Maybe it was because it was the last show and they'd had enough but we deserve more I think after 21 years. We arrived at 3 and I was right where I wanted to be at the back of the gold circle (inner) but imagine to my dismay and horror when Jon walked in the one direction and never came by me, I was gutted and could have cried there and then (I have today, being so let down). Why wasn't the walkway made more use of? Granted it was raining (tho what a rip off £5 for a bit of plastic to keep dry.) The boys hearts were not in this performance, they went thru the motions and like Jon said when the cheeky girls came on to kiss him "I'm working" it seemed to be just a job. It felt like their mood was low and there was very little banter and crowd interaction and I got the impression were're on the edge again like before when they got burnt out and split for a while. To add to this what a let down we didn't get more than 2 hours 5 mins and 1 encore. I honestly thought they were coming back as there was no trademark holding of hands and bow at the end I couldn't believe it when they started packing up, and what was the frank sinatra song all about? (and now the end is near????) I wished this show hadn't gone ahead and I thought long and hard before I spent my well earned cash, I now wished I'd stayed at home with good memories. Anyone who knows me will know these words are hard to say and I'll always be a Bon Jovi fan forever, I just wished things had been better. Keep the faith...

13 June 2006 - Hull, UK Concert Review Great, But... A review by Dean
I went to see Bon Jovi for the first time ever at Manchester last week. Always liked their music, and was totally blown away by the most amazing rock concert & atmosphere I have ever seen. I came away fully understanding why fans follow them religiously on practically every gig of their tours. So, I decided I had to go to Hull. I really wish I hadn’t made the effort. The band didn't. After all day today thinking, 'Is it me', I found this site and realised that other people, people who are far more 'qualified' as 'fans' than me, felt the same. Jon & the boys just wanted this one over with & go home. They obviously didn’t want to do the venue; they were obviously well pissed off with something – not a sell-out?????? robbed of the ego-boosting new Wembley opening act perhaps?????? - who knows. If I’d not been to Manchester, I still would have thought them awesome live. After the Manchester experience though, I was amazed how my opinion of them changed last night. You almost felt as if you were 'taking up their time'. Were they coerced into Hull?? We paid less to see them at Manchester, we were ripped off at Hull. Have seen numerous bands live, and know that some you win, some you lose. You take the good with the bad. But this one could have been so, so much better. I felt they cheated their hardcore fans. If I’d been to every gig of this UK tour, this last last one would have been ‘Bad Medicine’ for me to swallow. But, I would still go to see them again...

Does it ever! ---------- 13 June 2006 - Hull, UK Concert Review Rained out!! A review by Dazza
I've liked BJ for a long time, but wouldn't call myself their biggest fan- I love rock n' roll and have seen the boys 4 times in total, but still prefer heavier stuff.
Therefore I was slightly dubious about trekking out to Hull to see them. On the whole, I am glad I did, albeit with some concerns: -
1. Similarly to previous comments, I felt they just weren't up for it. From the 1st song when JBJ almost slipped on the mini-bridge, I felt he didn't want to be there. He made several comments about the weather and seemed generally pissed off. His job as a performer is to entertain a crowd whatever the weather- it is harder to stand in the rain waiting for them than to play than to stand and sing under a canopy!! I felt there was a negativity to their performance which I haven't seen before.
2. There was very little cameraderie between the band members and they were going through the motions to an extent.
3. This was the shortest BJ gig I've been to and instead of a support band, we had some muppets from the local radio station 'entertaining us'.
Also, not sure what has happened to Richie Sambora! but he looks bloated and generally unwell!
That said, '...Prayer' was worth the ticket price itself!!!
Also from drycounty.com ---------- Aww! Poor Richie! A bloated Richie is not a happy Richie!
