Alucard
((Reaction: You note that Mikito is setting himself up in a defensive situation around you, but also, oddly enough, that this village is... strangely quiet. The exact details and extent of how quiet it is barely escape you, but you can at least tell that something here...isn't right.))

Mikito's had slipping the amplifier unto his hand within his pocket, the well constructed glove clinging to his knuckles as he slowly shifted his gaze from left to right. "You kids stick close to me and stick quiet...give them a chance to listen." he looked towards those in the group who might not know of the Otobe's ability. "The Otobe can hear things better than most people can even begin to see. There entire body is like a second ear to pick up and emit vibrations..." he reached up and fidgeted with his hat. "Just let them do their thing, I'll protect you." the intense certainty in his voice was meant to be reassuring, but there was a emptiness in this village that didn't make it entirely so... even Mikito, who had spent the night in the infamous Tokotiki, a haunted village by great reputation, had never seen something like this...

"Lord Otokage," four cloaked figures returned and gave a bow before Orikami, their faces unreadable. "There is no one in the village... everyone is...gone."

Orikami's face seemed to fall more serious. At last it was possible to catch a glimpse that the man, though always outwardly kind and gentile, was, in fact, the Otokage of the village hidden in the sound, and Ninja of the highest caliber. This was no time for fun and games. "Yes...I sensed as much..." he turned his gaze around at the swaying tree's around the village. "Are there any signs of a struggle, or a trail leading out of the village?"

"No milord." the apparent senior of the Officer's answered with a bow. "The huts seemed untouched, and everything appears to be in it's proper place...almost eerily so. The only sign of a trail we could find was one which led up to the west. It appeared to be heading up towards that small mountain there."

Orikami paused to think for a moment. "I see..." he turned round. "Senkyo, Chishio, you will come with me to investigate the trail. Mikito, I want you to search the surrounding area."

Mikito raised a brow. "What about the kids?"

Orikami at last gave his old smile. "Don't worry. This village is abandoned, there's no danger here. It's also small and easily defensible. They can stay here to make camp." he turned towards the four officers. "You four will set up a perimeter around the village. Let nothing through until I or Mikito return."

"Affirmitive Lord Otokage!" all four replied in unison, before splitting off in multiple directions.

Orikami turned to the children, his smile still present. "You Students, please remain here for the time being. You may feel free to make camp if you wish, do not be concerned. My officers will lay down their lives before anything so much as comes near you. We will return soon." he fell serious once more. "Senkyo, Chishio."

"Yes, Lord Otokage." and in a flicker, the three of them vanished...

Mikito gave the students a nod. "If you run into any trouble..." he seemed to hesitate. "Here...use this." he tossed them a small com device. "That radio should patch you through to me. I'll get back as soon as I can." he jumped up unto one of the roofs. "And hey," he looked around the village slightly suspicious. "You kids feel free to have a look around...there may be something here that helps us figure out what happened...just don't try and leave the village." He then vanished in yet another flicker of movement...

Leaving the students seemingly alone at the entrance to the empty...dark...village...

The silent village

- A small farm house near the eastern corner of the village...it's silent like all the rest, but there's a lit candle in the window...

-The center of the village. There's a well from the look of it, and several thatched roof houses and huts...

-The Elder's home. One of the larger simple homes in the village, with a large abandoned store house behind it...

- A general store which seems to have an unpacked cart filled with the latest shipment of goods...

- A home who's door is wide open...there's a small simply cloth doll lying in the doorway...

((Alrightie then. Let's see what you make of it...))

Miyako became excited, yet scared at the same time. Sure they confirmed the village was empty, but she wasn't quite so sure. If something were to happen in this village, it would eventually start or end with the Elder, and so that was where she decided to go. She placed the com in her ear, making sure it was snug. She turned to her fellow students, "I don't know about all of you, but I'm going to do some investigating. There is something completely wrong going on here. The entire village is empty, no animal noises... I want to find out what's going on." She left out how she wanted to impress Mikito and the Otokage, but they didn't need to know that. "I'm thinking about the Elder's house..."

While Alucard was thinking, he stood there on the defensive as he looked around for something. As Alucard heard the village was empty he had a strange look as he staid on the defensive but relaxed a bit. Without saying anything Alucard slowly already started to move. After hearing that they were free to roam the city Alucard walked off towards the Elder building as he was curious about the building and why it was very large. Seeing many buildings he usually could tell why they were large, but not in this small village for he was not used to villages like this. Being a bit on guard Alucard walked slowly as he examined things slowly on his walk. Leaving others behind he didnt seem to mind wondering alone at the moment.

User Image Now that it had pointed out to her Urza did notice the unnatural quite. There wasn't a peep to be heard in the surround area outside of the noise that the children were now making. Urza felt uncomfortable with the whole situation, it all seemed so... dreamlike. Urza placed the com in her ear as Miyako had done. Investigating sounded to be good way to approach the situation to Urza, so she nodded. As much as she wanted to split up and roam around the silent creepy village she figured if, for now at least, it would be better to stick together. Urza agreed with the plan to investigate the Elders home. Kings always found there way into their people situations, so it made sense that something would be found. Urza kept her eyes and ear open for the sign of any life other than that of her and her fellow classmates.

Kina seemed to be slightly on guard, she picked up her coat from where it had been left beside the Otokage's platform, and shook it repeatedly, causing the weights to tumble out it, before sweeping it about and putting it back on. She then turned to her friends. "I agree. Mido-san, Yokijo-san."

The two boy's, who'd seemed wrapped about the girl's finger since class earlier that day, immediately sprung to attention, turning to the girl as though a superior officer.

Kina merely adapted a gentle smile. "Why don't you wait here and guard the Otokage's Palanquin, okay?"

"Awww..." he grumbled slightly "...okay." Yokijo stuck out his lower lip as though annoyed, having been chomping at the bit to investigate the village, but not really able to say no to that face...

"Yes ma'am!" Mido said with a salute. "are you sure you lovely ladies don't need a big strong man to protect you?"

Kina merely gave a chuckle. "No, thank you though." as she turned her back on her teamates she fell passive however, looking to Urza and Miyako. "Alright," she said quietly enough for the other two not to hear. "That'll keep them busy while we look around." she seemed...all business really, now that this situation had come upon them. "The elder's house seems as good a place as any to star..." she looked over to see that Alucard had already wandered off. She sighed with a casual exasperation. "...I realize this is a grossly illogical statement....and rather bias. But I believe I can sum up my emotions at this moment with "....boys"..." she put a palm over her face.

As Alucard moved off through the village and towards the elder's home, he could still hear nothing save the dank disturbing sounds of a village left empty. The occasional creak of a house settling, the rare gust of wind ruffling the straw rooftops or the tree's all around them. The houses he passed by seemed completely empty at a glance, and the largest of all, the elder's home, loomed above them by a whole floor...

The shed around the back of the home. Seemed to be unlocked, the worn edges of it's door creaking slightly as a stray gust of wind passed it by... it's windows were glassless, and it was possible to look inside before one entered...but all one could see at a distance was blackness...

She had felt sort of relieved that Mido had stayed behind. If she had to deal with his remarks.... someone would be getting punched in the face. So she followed after Alucard, who she guessed didn't really pay attention to what she said. As she walked towards the largest building in the area. She was sure it was the right place. In the back she noticed a shed that was unlocked. She would look there before entering the home. If she would be in need of tools, she would like to know what she had readily available. She walked up to the unlocked shed, and warily opened it...

Miyako

(Reaction: As soon as Miyako opens the door further than a inch, there's a faint, clicking noise, and a large blade, which appears to be from a scythe is fired out through the crack in the door as rigged up by some mechanism. It doesn't appear to be of fine make, and only grazes you, however it still leaves a long gash along your arm.))

The door has not yet been opened all the way, as you were forced to let go of it when you evaded the trap. It is the opinion of this humble narrator that you don't want to try that again without at seeking another way inside.

The window is glassless, and not so high up enough that you might be able to climb through...

Walking a several feet behind Miyako, Alucard was walking slowly. Walking into the large house of the elder, ALucard kept walking towards the back heading to the shed slowly. Seeing Miyako walk towards the shed Alucard had stopped as he was watching what would happen. Seeing the blade that grazed Miyako Alucard thought of a few things for a moment, as he saw the window, 'Up there maybe.' Alucard thought to himself as he walked slowly around to the side with the window. After entering the room Alucard whistled as he smiled a lot. "Awesome stuff in here," Alucard said in his own language as he looked at the door, Flinching a lot Alucard placed the com thing on finally. "Go to window will help," Alucard said as he slowly got up to the window and waited for Miyako to come to the window. "Do not enter door," Alucard said in the intercom softly.

Alucard
((Reaction: You easily make the jump up to the window, making it inside. Inside the shed, it seems to be rather still and light-less. In the dim light from the window, you can barely make out what looks like a collection of weapons lined up in an almost...unnaturally neat, manner, beside a box full of what appear to supplies. Over on the door that your teammate attempted to open, you see an explosive tag that was dangerously close to being activated. Had she attempted to force the door any further, it would have gone off. Besides that, you don't see anything.))

User Image Where as her classmates had gone to check around back at the shed Urza thought it best to take a look in the main house. The shed didn't seem that large so she figured the two of them would have it searched top to bottom in no time at all, so she figured she would take a start on the main house. She walked up to the door and carefully opened it. The creepiness of the whole situation had put Urza on edge. Urza pushed open the door walking into the grand house. It was immaculate... Almost o much so. Urza walked from one room to another. It looked as if someone or something had come in and organized the rooms into spotless perfection. But she noticed something else. Stains on the rugs and tables suggested that whoever had tided up and done it recently, and that the house wasn't always in such good shape. Urza made sure to be thorough in her investigation. As she rummaged through drawrs looking for notes or paperwork that could possibly lead to what had happened up to this point Urza noticed something else. From the outside the house looked much larger. But as she was searching she saw only a few rooms, and none of them that grand. That could only mean one thing.

Urza looked for the hidden room. Knocking on walls and moving shelves, until she ran across something odd in the kitchen. One of the cupboards seemed to be slightly jammed. Using her strength she brust forced the thing open and decided to take a look inside to she what had made it stick... Measuring cups? And not very big ones. There had to be something else. Urza looked at the bottom of the cupboard and to her suprise found a latch. Instinctively she pulled on it as she heard the groaning of a passage being opened. "So I was right. He was hiding something." Urza said as she made her way into the back room. What she saw stunned her. Books upon books, papers containing what looked to be monetary information, and a small book. Urza looked at what was before her. It looked like she had some reading ahead of her.

Urza *whistle* *whistle*
((Reaction: The interior of the elders house seems very...odd to you, and through meticulous examination you realize just what about it is bothering you. Two things, actually. The first is that everything is in it's proper place...but not. Every item is frightfully organized and cleaned, however given the stains and such in certain parts of the home, it wasn't this spotless until very recently. You get the impression that someone or...something, has gone through an almost obsessive level of effort to make this house completely in order. The second is more obvious. From the Outside it's much bigger than it should be judging from the inside. Upon examining the kitchen, with your level of attentiveness, you discover a secret latch under a cupboard, opening a secret passage that appears to lead to back room. The back room contains all manner of books and records for the village taxes meant to be sent to the Daimyo, which to understand would require an INT check, however you also discover a small journal...))

Urza acquired: Elder's journal! *you may read if next turn if you so choose*
