Petro had given up his search for something to use as kindling but the sudden appearance of all those mashers hadn't been so bad. He even snagged one for later, in case they all got hungry and rather than resorting to eating each other they could eat the minipet. Too bad he didn't have a fire. Mashers were best baked.
The loud thunk had drawn his attention and as they went down the stairs to investigate, the tikbalang's brown eyes widened. Without thinking, he charged towards the chimeara, leaping up to grab onto the hand that held Amrita. Out of all the captured students, it was the Vetala he had the most attachment with, he'd help go after Hel (he did owe her for the replacement loincloth) once they had the undead ghoul freed.

Now taking the time to gaze around the cave, Poke was able to find the rest of the students, all grouped together near a glowing ghoul. This made it easier to see where they were...
..as well as the giant mother jacking thing that showed up. And jack was it Huge. And It wasted no time in grabbing some of the students.
Frowning as some of them screamed for help, she wasted no time in removing her pin. Her body began to grow quickly, scaled replacing her skin as her claws grew longer and her teeth more sharper. Soon, she was on all fours, snarling savagely at the chimera in front of her. Even in her natural form, it was still so much larger, and this fact just pissed her off even more(she was going through a growth spurt, she was gonna get bigger very soon dammit...at least she hoped so).
Claws digging into the ground below her, she swung her head from side to side before launching herself forwards, letting her jaw open partially before her back legs propelled her forward and she clamped on the hand that held Hel

Amrita Hand Boss: 119Siobhan turned as a cat boil approached, complimenting her hair and asking to play with it. The banshee lit up even brighter, eyes glittering with adoration. "Truly!? Yes of course you may!" But then The giant monster revealed itself, and even took captives. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEK----on second thought? Perhaps another time." There were students to rescue! The glowing banshee picked up a bone fragment and chucked it at the hand holding their babysitter captive.

Sheridan skidded to a halt at the bottom of the stairs. A fleeting moment of relief had having found their fallen comrades was instantly replaced by one of horror at the site of the monster. What the jack -was- that thing?! Part of it seemed draconic, and yet not all of it. If it was a dragon...
"Tess, be careful!"
A roar, his pin dropped, the suddenly 50 ft long cosmic dragon surged forward to place himself between the monster and Tess. His jaws parted, a threatening hiss, ice forming in his breath. BACK OFF!

Going down, one of the last things King expected to see was an aggressor. He had an inkling that this was someone's home given the tiny skull piles outside but as others had gone he'd assumed it was alright. He didn't think one who resided in the cave would become enraged. Nor, did he think they would be attacked. Looking at the commotion he spied one familiar Night, Siobhan, Poke- And there was also a captured Sura.
How the creature managed to capture the colossus he wasn't sure, but if it was that strong, King was not guessing it would be easy to free the ghoul. Fur bristling as he dug his paws into the ground, red eyes looked for a way to get to the dragon amalgamation.
An opening given, it was taken as the wolfos went forward, claws trying to dig into the near frozen bones. A few scratches, and the arm moved, causing him to jump aside and avoid getting flung. The fact he'd managed something was good, but it had not been that great.

Edel was glad that Leo had spoken up, opening up a few more options for them as to what to do. They would be better off with a greater attacking force; whatever it was down there with them sounded pretty huge.
She was right. The frost demon had switched to a defensive stance, both hands wielding ice daggers in the instant the creature revealed itself. At that point she would have given the suggestion to run, except that it had already taken some of them hostage. Hissing, the ghoul flung the daggers at the hand gripping Leo, merely scratching it in her rather pathetic attempt. What was it about them looking out for the first years again?
Several other students appeared to be joining them, aiming at the other hands holding the hostages. It was a bit of a relief, though the trouble wasnt over yet.
"Hang in there," she called to Leo, taking up stance and preparing to attack again.

“ If you are not living life on the edge, Amrita, than you are taking up too much space.” She waggled her fingers at the Vetala with a bit of a grin. “ Nah, they should not learn how we did.” Hel agreed in regards to the first years. “ They should not be coddled at all…things are only going to get harder for them, and you know what I am talking about.” Hel looked over at Shun and shrugged. “ I think they should prove themselves worthy of the effort…but that is just me though.” Amrita seemed like she wanted to be group mother, and that was more than fine with her. She’d focus and work with Shun. The reaper looked over at Leo, listening to her as she spoke, and pointed at her. “ Ya! I like that attitude! More students need that attitude.” Soon enough a few more students dropped in, and it wasn’t too long before the creature came back. A grin pulled at Hel’s lips as Siobhan’s eerie glow shed some light on what they were fighting. “ Ha! This is what I came here fo—“ Then she was grabbed. “ Son of a wit—“ The valkyrie struggled, trying to pry the bony fingers away from her, though as one of the dragon students, Poke, came to her aid, she cheered. “ Much obliged, friend!” HP: 35/50 Enoh Love LOOK I FIXED IT PRAISE ME *A* <3

A purple light flickered above the monsters head as something came falling from the sky...
It was Sammy of course FEAR being the purple that marked her, try as she might she couldn't turn herself about right and ended up bouncing harmlessly off the monster with a thud beside Hel
"Sonofajackdamn...." Stumbling to her feet she glanced at Hel then to the beast frowning, "How the hell did I miss that?!"

Mmur was cold. No, that was an understatement. He was freezing. He couldn't remember having ever been quite this cold in all of his days. In addition to the usual strip of clean, random fabric he had secured around his waist, the famine clansman was sporting a gargantuan calf-length parka, some fuzzy old thing he had borrowed from one of his more modest brethren. He could barely move, and so far the hulking mass of patchy skins and fur had served to hinder his movements more than keep him from shivering.
He had started this trip in relatively good spirits, but when they had reached a particularly treacherous spot on the mountainside and students had begun to fall to an unknown end, the horseman's mood had soured considerably. He'd been almost excited to fall into a chasm himself, if only because it meant he no longer had to traipse through the snow. Despite the rumbling and the whole chimaera thing, Mmur had mostly remained huddled in his coat upon arrival, at least until their opponent had started claiming victims.
Instinct began to push past the chill. He had to fight. It was his job.
Just give him five more minutes.

"Ah, This is true. Perhaps we can make a play date so I can play in your hair??" Night grinned. True to his cat nature, he was always after play dates. ALL THE PLAY DATES.
Night wasn't particulary happy that he couldn't play at least for a little with the small ghoul's hair ....especially when other students were grabbed. And what a shame, there were such cute students....
Eyeing one of the hands that held a grip on the a Valkyrie, Night let his hands glow with FEAR as he shook his body. He liked to fight so....
"Hey there..." Night clambered up the hand, facing the valkyrie, "How you like the grip?" He pointed to the hand before punching it with some kind of green force.

"R-right, I'll hang in here." There wasn't really much she could do otherwise, honestly, but she appreciated the thought behind the sentiment all the same. Still, it was heartening to see all the boils and ghouls banding up on the creature; and it seemed that new people kept dropping in all the time. Leo figured that that was a good thing - more damage to help kill the thing and free her and the other captives was well met.

Ulmuka was NOT expecting to see a giant skeletal monster when he came down the steps. He watched the others leap into action and the strix was the same, except he took to the air. There was a ghoul with dual colored hair, writhing and fighting a mighty battle despite the damage being done to her. "Hold on Miss!" He screeched to her. The strix swept down and latched onto the hand with his talons, trying to pry the fingers apart and free her. It started to give, almost defeated, but it wasn't enough. HP: 40/40 Damage: 2 Hel Hand: 2/10 Boss: 111

Shun didn't have anything else to add to the debate. They didn't have a whole lot of time for this anyway, and it proved to be true as the large bone creature snatched up a few of the students. Others had dropped in around this time, but he paid them little heed. Well. He did notice Sammy because she happened to be going after the same thing he was. The reaper just rushed right past her before leaping up at the skeletal hand. Striking the bone itself wouldn't do too well with his daggers. He aimed right for wrist's joint.
As he came down, he stabbed hard into the joint, managing to free Hel in the process.
He landed rather nicely and it would have stayed that way, if it weren't for the fact that the other reaper dropped down on top of him.
"Kussooo.." he hissed.

"Worry not little one!" Tseng called out as he began to run towards the hand that had scooped up Leo.
"RISING PALM STRIKE!" he shouted while hurling himself into the air and smacking the hand. It didn't seem to be very effective, however. He was going to need to use another move next time.

Oh so this was where all the students had ended up. Jericho was glad to see that they were alright for the most part, but he was not so thrilled to see that they were under attack by a giant bone chimera monster thing.
Wait.
Bone monster meant it was undead.
He had fire. He could be super effective against this thing. But it was also carrying some friends. They could easily get caught up in the flames if he attacked one of the hands like that. Or in general for that matter. He better wait until they were free. Flying towards one of the hands, he basically just rammed into the hand holding Amrita.
