Title Onuris Convience Store Meeting
Poor, Poor Neveah. She didn't realize caring for an infant was going to be this much work...and her exhaustion showed clearly on her elegant features. Hell, even her vibrant butterfly wings seemed to have lost their sheen, not to mention even they seemed to be drooping. She was struggling through though, and that was all she could hope for right now. And what was the cause of her exhaustion? Well, that was easy...it was the heavily swaddled creature in her arms...and if it weren't for the infant's occasional whine he could have passed off as just an oddly shaped package. As it stood, the tired butterfly was barely making her way to the local store for advil, energy drinks and, hopefully, a crate of sunblock.
Upon reaching the doors of the local store a young red haired man was also at the door. He was about to open the door for himself but spied the woman with droopy wings and whining infant. Onuris paused a moment as if trying to come to a decision until he finally opened the door, and a wide grin slowly took place over his features, "Ladies and children first," he offered quietly as he stood quietly out of the way so that Neveah could enter. The man seemed a bit odd in more ways than one, but he certainly was not the creepy sort of odd. He wore his hair long and open and seemed to openly carry two rapiers (sheathed, of course) at his belt. He wore rather nice clothing as well, but most of it was obscured by the long leather coat he wore. His eyes were gold colored and though he was not playing obviously playing pranks at the moment -- Onuris could be quite mischevious indeed.
Neveah stopped walking once the man opened the door for her. Her angled aqua eyes, though tired-looking, brimmed with curiousity. This man was...being nice to her? Usually people scampered out of the way once they heard Zah's whines (or the occasional shriek, depending on the light situation)...but he was being nice? "...Thank you...?" She managed to say, hurrying through the door before the man changed his mind, clutching her little Drow against her rather frail-looking frame. A few steps in, and she whirled around to view the stranger once more as if she had something to say....the motion accidentally causing the hood of Zah's blanket-cloak to fall off, revealing his obsidian skin, his snow-white hair, and what looked like a blindfold over his eyes. Within seconds Neveah frantically fixed the problem...but sadly wasn't quick enough to stop the drow's wailing cries at the light...even if it was fake. "Great..." She breathed out sadly. What a great thank you...you help someone and get practically deaf from wails! Neveah couldn't blame Zah, but she also couldn't explain why to anyone else. "I'm uh...so sorry about this!" Now it looked like she was panicking, somehow multitasking the comforting of the screamer and the comforting of the poor ears he'd no doubt hurt. "So, SO Sorry~!"
Onuris of course followed her in and watched as the woman fumbled about and exposed an interesting little child to the light. He tilted his head and just smiled at her, "What is there to apologize for. Apparently your kidlet doesn't like light very much." The red haired man moved closer to Neveah with a smooth sort of grace as if to continue to peer at the child with vaguely interested gaze in his golden eyes, "Excuse my staring, m'dear, but your child -- is he of the drow?" The man knew? Obviously so, and even then woman with a child seemed to do little to frighten him off. "He's a handsome little devil." Onuris added the compliment all the while speaking over the wailing and not seeming to mind much. Did he have children? Didn't look like it, but at least he didn't seem to mind.
"...He hates the light, actually...can't stand even faint, fake light..." She sighed heavilly...Having an infant that didn't like light was very, very difficult for a butterfly who adores it. When the stranger mentioned his very correct guess of the child's race, the butterfly's eyes widened. With a gasp, she scampered backwards another few paces, pulling the bundle closer to her in a very, very protective manner. He knew the drow? Maybe Philos decided to...no! No, her old boss wouldn't do that to her! She was about to make some form of brash reply...when he complimented Zah instead. "...Thank you." She said hesitantly, though still standing protectively. "I...think so to." Another pause, and then "...Who are you?"
He didn't follow after her when she backed away. Onuris knew that reaction far too well he had done it many times himself. Onuris folded his hands behind his back idly after shifting his shoulders as if trying to think of a good way to introduce himself, but he merely bowed with a small flourish, "I am Onuris Vaiile, nobleman once, but now free. I didn't mean to alarm you, just too curious for my own damn good." Onuris' golden eyes peered up at Neveah as he remained in bowed position for the moment, "What of you two? May I have the pleasure knowing your names?" Onuris now kept respectful distance until Neveah felt ready to be more trustful of him. Either he was a really good actor, or... "So...you're not going to take him away?" She was blunt, but she was exhausted. So sue her. Against better judgement, she spoke again, though still hesitantly. "I'm Neveah Surugata...I work as a folklorist. And this is Zasalamel...Zah or 'Amel for short." The butterfly pointed at herself, then at the infant as she introduced themselves. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Vaiile." Her slanted, almond shaped eyes stared directly at him, until she eventually continued. "And yes...he is as you say." Meaning yeah, he's a Drow. She seemed to relax then, going to let Onuris come forward again if he wanted, but she wasn't going to move back to him. "I came for Advil and sunblock." Why this was relevant was anyone's guess.
Onuris scrunched his nose a bit and shook his head, "If I wanted to take him away I'd have just plucked him and left. As of the moment I haven't taken up rare baby collecting, and I don't have any plans to start one either. No offense to you, Zasalamel." He shrugged a bit, "From me the child is safe." He obviously didn't have a major agenda, but he didn't really seem to honestly assume that he could just pluck up the baby and leave that easily. Hence the reassurance that he wasn't after the child. "Pleasure to meet you both of course." He smiled at her and stepped a bit closer to her taking up a cart, "Well consider yourself a part of my 'good deed of the day' winners. I'll assist you since I gave you a fright earlier it seems."

Title Yashima To the Science Centre!
After that adorable little snugglefest between the two children, it was only natural for them to meet up again! Right? Right. ...well, not really. But Patrick had agreed to take some of the children to a science muesam and Yashima was a part of the deal - the meusam had spiders so... Well, he recieved Neveahs phonenumber once in the past, and so that was dialed before he set off in the discovery of knowledge.
The Butterfly found herself rudely awakened.
"...'Amel..." Neveah said once, a word of warning to her otherwise tired sounding voice.
"...'Amel...!" Neveah repeated again, putting emphasis on the warning tone.
"Zasalamel..." Now, his full first name was used.
Oh, he was in trouble now.
"...Zasalamel Surugata! Will you cut that out!? BAD BABY!!" Neveah cried out one final time. Unlike the other times, she was obeyed. A few seconds later, the small infant started to whimper, withdrawing into himself and his bulky robe...but one hand still remained outstretched, his black fingers holding a rather large chunk of two-toned hair hostage. Wincing, Neveah untangled her arms from the Drow baby and set to free her poor hair. "Mommy's hair is not a tug toy, and Baby's fingers don't belong up her nose!"
By this time, the infant was crying...loudly. Amist the wailing though, came the sound of the alarm clock. Wonderful, she'd have to get up then anyway. Thus, after a rude awakening, the butterfly set off to start the day...from feeding, clothing and changing (twice) Zasalamel, to managing a shower herself, and then the eventual shuttle out of the house with a crying shadow-dweller and a bus ride to the science museum.
Once she arrived there, she quit her search for Patrick for only a moment. "Zasalamel! If you keep trying to get Mommy's hair you're only going to cry more!"
"Zawsaw!" Came the triumphant toddler voice from behind Neveah. There stood Yashi, once she turned around to see who was squalling at her so. His face was nothing short of a beam and his hair was tied up into two pigtails on the side of his head. The outfit for the day? A litle outfit much like his blue one, the one he 'changed' into, but a dark purple with a large, golden stitching of a fox on the back. "Aoi chou zawsaaaaw~"
His babblings STILL made no sense to anyone. At least, not as far as Patrick knew.
The dark man, still rather morbidly pregnant, waddled up to his little rouge toddler and gave his head a pat. "Yashi, how many times have I told you to STOP walking away? I mean- oh! Hey, Neveah! Glad to see you two made it!"
Behind Patrick and Yashi were a little hoarde of...random children. HIS random children, as it were. There was a boy with white bird wings and bright red/gold/orange hair. A meerkat boy. A girl with horse hooves, a little bird-anthro girl on a baby leash, an angry ebony child with red nails...a pregnant black man...Ooooh, this was going to be fun.
Zawsaw? There was only one being who drawled like that...and a quick spin around confirmed her suspicions. Even she couldn't help the adoring beam that flit onto her face at the sight of him. "Oh, Yashima! You're looking adorable as ever I see!" She giggled...and resisted the urge to hug the fox boy. Instead, she gave the huggle to her little Drow, who decided to go quiet now that he'd heard something familiar. In fact, the Drow was trying to peer over the edge of his hood to see...which of course led to a pained shriek every single time. Eventually she got the hint and sat down on the probably dirty floor, to let Zah see the fox. It obviously worked, since he keened happily for the first time since they left the house.
"Patrick! Nice to see you! You're looking well, all things considered..." Neveah trailed off with a thin giggle. She'd read up on pregnancy...and she could only imagine how hard it would be for a male! "Well...we barely made it. I'm fairly sure the bus driver was going to kick me off because of the little shrieker here..." A tilt of her head towards the now giggling Zah only confirmed everything. "He's got quite the lungs on him~" She groaned, then looked past Patrick to the little mob behind him. "Wow, they're all yours..?" She queried with awe, her aqua eyes wide. Then she noticed the meerkat, and her wings fluttered with objection. "...I recognize you."
Yashi continued to beam up at the butterfly, extending his hands towards the wrapped bundle of Drow. "Zaw saw!" He nearly demanded. Well, who are we kidding here? He DID demand to see his friend but with that cute face and bubbly voice, who could resist? Really, now. Fingers flexed and once that bundle was on the floor, the little fox droppe dto his knees and crawled over to the blanket-fied little fiend, peking under it curiously. "Zawsaw? Zaaaawasaaaw?" Fingers wriggled and he managed to get his way under the blanket an dto latch onto his friend, chewing happily at that white hair.
"Considered I'm fatter then a hippo? Yeah..thanks. The doctor says it's STILL to damned early. I'm about to tear someones throat out." The dark man grumbled head shaking a little. "They all have a set of lungs on them. I was thanking the gods for Yashi when he came into exhistance... He was the only silent one." Despite his grumbling, though, the mortal was smiling, glancing back at the little hoarde of sprogglets.
"All mine? Yeah. All of them. Iamel, Akuti, Akilah, Kian, Lahela...more, I think, but my head hurts too much to think about them."
Akilah caught hold of her little Look and the flutterings, soft dark ears flicking up towards her. He had a soccer ball clenched in one hand and was wearing clothing - finally. "What? What's the look for?"
For once, Zah was careful of what he was doing...so instead of throwing his arms around his friend and hurting after, he grabbed at the fox's clothing once it was inside his little refuge, and gummed on Yashi's shoulder, since he could. "...Buha~!" He decided happily. He couldn't see because of his blindfold, but everything else told him who this soft thing was.
"Could be worse...and please don't kill us." Whether or not she was serious...well. "Ah, I've been to restaurants...but most infants don't sound like they're being murdered when they're in the sun." Or even touched by any of it, anyway. After, she turned to the other kids. "Oh...nice to meet you all! I'm Neveah...and that poor thing being eaten by Yashima is Zah." Her aqua gaze then turned to Akilah. "Its nothing, nevermind." She giggled...sounds like her wings remembered the little boy!
"Anyway...lets get inside before Zah starts screaming again..." Accidents were bound to happen, and with Yashi wiggling into that blanket-robe, anything was possible. "Want me to carry you too, Yashima?" She offered, carefully trying to detach the infant from toddler.
"Buha," The little fox agreed with him wholeheartedly. He snuggled closer to the smaler being, nosing against him with a soft squeal. His tails fluffed up and wrapped around the duo, leaaaaning further into the stable drow. Even though Zasalamel was a baby compared to yashi being a toddler, they were almost the same size, being nearly the same age. When Neveah tried to pry them apart, however, Yashi whined, curling closer to the drow. "Zaaaawsaw~ Iya iya iyaaaaa~"
Nooo leaving the warm snugglies of the Drow baby! How dare you!
The kids replies to her introduction were as varied as their appearance, going from a glower to a cheerful little wave to a beak snapping shut. Patrick just shook his head blithly, lips quirkin ginto a smile. "Zah is Yashis friends, kiddlets. No making fun of him, teasing him, trying to EAT HIM, KIAN-" The child in question hissed from his position on the floor, clutching a building block to his chest, "Or ripping of fhis blindfold. Neveah will attack you and I WILL spank you."
"And I'll beat you up for making Yashi cry," Informed the tallest, oldest child. Iamel, the winged one.
Naturally, Neveah gave up trying to pry Yashima and Zah appart...especially since the Drow started to whine in protest as well. Sighing, she sat back and thought about how to correct this...but her thoughts were distracted by the various responses from the kids...and then the warnings.
...What kind of kid was that...? Eating infants...? Neveah didn't want to know and suddenly...she wanted to take Zah and go home. However, the situation seemed handled, but the butterfly decided to leave the second she felt something was going to go wrong. "Right...Hurt my Baby and I'll hurt you." She growled out...a tone that even surprised her! Really, a butterfly growling...how strange.
"...Oh!" She gasped suddenly, as if stricken by a wonderful idea. "Watch Zah for me, would you? I'll be right back!" Leaping to her feet, the butterfly jumped to her feet and ran off, disappearing into the building. When she returned, she was carting two museum wagons behind her, designed specifically for children. Stopping one beside the fox and drow, she picked them up and hoisted them into the same wagon. "There, now we can move and you can snuggle." Oh yay, she was smart! "Want the other wagon, Patrick? I brought two just incase..."
That kid was a pitch-black refuge from another planet that Patrick took in out of curiousity. The normal-colored, elf-eared little brat trying to steal away the black boys block was another one. Yashima purred under his breath once the female backed off, nuzzling further into the dark baby and clinging for his precious little life.
Patricks children, however, wre just barely moved by her tone. They lived together. In a hosue. They knew punishment and hurting a baby (even one as annoying as Rothe or as ugly as Kian) was offlimits to them. It was sad, but true. Akilah just grinned at her before darting off, supposedly to kick aroun dhis ball. Patrick didn't bother chasing or asking, merely tugging at Lahelas baby leash once or twice to keep her close.
"Oh?" He murmured with her, watching as the girl darted off. "s**t. If I have to raise Zah, I'm going to -- ooooh." His eyes widened appreciatively, grinning as Yashi didn't protest the moving, but curled closer to his friend. "Yes. Please. Lahela can walk but Rothe and Kian.." The two aliens were scooped up an dput in the wagon, casting Neveah a grin. "Thank you. That was genius."
"I can push it for you, Shiniee." Iamel, rather worried about his 'Shiniees' bulging tummy, pushed Patrick gently out of the way and took hold of Kian and Rothes handlebars. "See?"
Neveah obviously didn't hear the comment about Patrick raising Zah, pity.
"Here, then~" She pushed the second wagon towards Patrick, just light enough to have it stop infront of him. The butterfly's shining black and blue wings fluttered proudly. "You're welcome! Because this folklorist has nothing better to do than figure out how to cart around stubborn babies." She giggled, making light of everything. Her aqua gaze then went towards the taller boy. "Oh, he's a thoughtful one, Patrick~!" The butterfly purred out, without realizing. How nice of him!
Grabbing onto the other wagon's handlebars, she started towards the science museum. "Let go...learn!" Neveah started, then paused for a moment. "...Or pretend to, at least." She laughed out.
Zah didn't quite understand where they were or what he was in, but really...who cared? What he did care about though, was the soft thing that was attached to him! This soft thing was a good thing, and the good soft thing would help him! A couple of times, a shine off of a surrounding object would flash over his skin, and each time that happened the boy shrieked as if lashed, followed very shortly by a tighter grasp on his older friend. "Mmmuaaaah~!" He cried out in distress, practically burrowing into the warm soft friend thing.
"Iamel just doesn't want me to pop my stomach out all over everyone, do you, Iamel?" His voice is teasing but earns himself a glare from his oldest child. The woodpeck er - for Iamel wker at heart - puffed up at Neveahs words and stuck his tongue out at his father.
"See? I'm THOUGHTFUL. So shut the ******** up, Shiniee, and let's go inside. I want to see things blow up!" Enthusiasm littered his voice before turning to his younger siblings. "Penny, you stay by me. Akilah - AKILAH! No kicking things! Everyone stays together cause if shiniee has to run you down, I will smother you in the night." His voice was very near waspish but it was so common that Patrick didn't bat an eyelash.
Instead, he beamed at the butterfly girl. "And he used to hate the thought of siblings. He's just happy to rule with an iron fist." Patrick started ushering them in, with Neveah and Iamels help, laughing quietly. "Well....he's a drow, right? They have a spider exhibit going on..it's supposedly in a dark hallway, so he can at least see that. AND there's an explosion..thing going on, that Iamel and Penny want to see...so... we WILL be learning. I hope."
Yashima finally realized, after the second squeal, that this new/old friend of his did NOT like shiny things like so many of his siblings did. A frown decorated the toddlers lips before he rolled and puffed out his tail, wrapping his tail around th little boys face and arms and whatever else he could reach. It wasn't much but it wouldn't smother the boy nor would it let light through. "Zawsaw kay?"
Neveah made a face...she wouldn't like that either. According to the parenting books though, they'd have warning before anysort of anything came from anyone who was pregnant. Like, intense pain sort of warning. Yep. The butterfly did have to giggle though, when the woodpecker used both a compliment and a vulgar silencing so flawlessly in practically the same sentence. "Talented.." She managed to get out between amused giggles. "Looks like he's enjoying it, yeah...and it suits him, somehow." She commented seriously, though her grin was still on her lips. Then, there was a pause. Her rather angled eyes were wide and staring at Patrick, once he mentioned the spider exhibit...but more importantly the dark hallway. Suddenly, she started shuffling a little faster through the lot and into the fair. "Yeah lets go NOW!" Dark places meant quiet Zasalamel, and quiet Zasalamel meant no advil needed. At the shrieking though, the paused to look down at her baby and his friend. Yashima's snuggles had shifted the hood so it allowed the occasional beam of light...and that wasn't good! With a gasp of realization, she reached into her bag and pulled out a travel umbrella and some rope, opening it and putting it over the wagon, tying it in place. Apparently she'd done this many times before. "He'll be alright Yashima..." Neveah coo'ed out in reassurance, leaning down to pet Zah's hair...or what showed of it. "We just need to keep him out of the sun, okay? Want to help protect him?" Zah's shrieks eventually quieted thanks to Yashima and the umbrella. Instead though, his hands pet at the fluffy thing that surrounded him, cooing in utter content.
"Iamel is very talented," Patrick assured her. His hand descended to ruffle at the woodpeckers hair - it caused the lad to grin widely before his face melted into a scowl. Someone was trying to be a grown up, now wasn't he? Iamel knew damn well he was the Big Brother to ALL his siblings - they all looked up to him and if he did a bad job, they'd all suck as human beings (or anthros or aliens). So he had to do his very, very, very very best! At least, that's what he told himself. Seriously, the kid had too much pressure on him, most of it self-inflicted. "Do you like spiders?" He asked Neveah curiously, eyeing her butterfly wings. "I like scorpions," Akilah boasted, running past them all and laughing, twisting around to face them while...still running. Weird b*****d. "They taste good and go CRUNCH!" Yashi simply snuggled closer, mouth moving to gnaw slightly at Zahs ear. It was pointy but springy! And tasted like Drow earwax (which apparently didn't taste too bad)! So he continued to nibble when that hand touched his tail. The little fox paused and wriggled a little, whining just slightly before resigning. Zah pets didn't feel bad. He wasn't as strong as Kay with. He didn't go all the way down.
Neveah smiled...poor kid probably had a lot of pressure on him. Nobody told her, but for whatever reason...she could tell he was trying very hard to help raise the younger ones. "Must be nice to feel so important." She murmured under her breath without meaning to. Neveah herself never really knew her family, since Butterflies aren't family oriented...so while she couldn't sympathize with Iamel, she certainly could admire him. "Eh? Me? No. I hate spiders." She said flatly, a thin shiver trailing along her spine. Quickly, she pointed down at the wagon. "But Zah does...he likes the dark a lot more though. With spiders...he's kind of...affiliated with them. They've invaded my house now that he's here...and I hate them." She felt the need to repeat herself, apparently. Then, "What about you? Do you like spiders?" At the mention of scorpions, her antennae twitched, then lowered to practically disappear into her hair. "...Scorpions...? Aren't they...yanno...poisonous...?" How could you eat something that'd hurt you? Oh well. Once inside, Neveah bought herself a ticket (since kids under five get in free, yay!), and waited in a darker area for everyone else to catch up...all while looking at the program for the museum. Apparently, Zah forgot the last time he pet Yashima's tail...but oh well! Upon getting no disagreeing moves, the little drow continued his petting, then only happily nuzzled his entire face into the fluffy thing, giggling at the feel of the fur against his skin. It tickled! "Muuuaaaaff~!" He cried out happily, his voice muffled by the fur. At the ear gnawing though...he paused, followed shortly by an uncomfortable and purely unintentional kick out of his one leg, and a low whine from his throat. That tickled tooo~!
Iamel glanced up at her for that murmured comment, but he said nothing. Instead, he continued to wheel the alien-babies (who were still arguing in hises, biting each other and shoving) to the front where Patrick paid for a few of their tickets - most of them were toddlers or babies. No harm there. "Akilah eats scorpions," He informed the female, as if she hadn't been able to gather that already. "Bugs like scorpions and beetles are meerkats prey. That's what Akilah is. He's a meerkat." Keela beamed, as if this was some sort of a good thing, to be furry and eat poison. "I'm not suh-sep-ti-cal to poisons. A lot of them, anyway." He nodded firmly, "And the trick is to break of their tail, real quick, before they sting you. Cause te sting HURTS. Right, Dawdie?" Patrick glanced up from his position of scooping up the parrot girl, casting his son a smile. "Yes. Right, 'Keelah. The stings DO hurt." "If Zah has lots of spiders, c'n I eat them too? I can go MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH real fast and he'd never even - whoa! Lookit the shiniees!" With that, the meerkat ran off. Patrick sighed. "And he's CALM today." Unfortnetly, that leg hit Yashi. It wasn't hard, but it was enough to make him whine, gnawing harder at his ear with those little teeth before stopping. He got the hint - no ear! Instead, his hair went under attack, being chompe don happily by the fox, fingers moving and wedging to cling to that bright shock of white. "Keekiiee bah." Translation? Kicky bad. Oh yeah. Smart brat.
"Oh...that's true." Neveah mused, tapping her chin. How could she forget that Akilah was a meerkat? Duh...she knew meerkats ate bugs like that! "Well, you've certainly learned all the tricks, 'Keelah!" No doubt by trial and error, she thought. Still, she thought it was gross...but this was also coming from a humanoid bug. So...she was biased. "Uuuh...I doubt he'd want you to eat his spiders. They're kind of...important to him." Well, maybe. She didn't know if he actually liked them or not, but she didn't want to assume anything just yet. "Maybe you can when he's older, though" Neveah managed to get out, before the meerkat ran off. Still, she couldn't resist her amused giggle. "What do you wanna go see first...? They've got a LOT of stuff going on..." Neveah breathed out in awe...from bug to ancient civilizations...Whoa! Zah didn't know that his leg his Yashi. He knew his leg hit something, but he didn't know it was Yashi he hit. He did, however, know he was being chewed on...and started to whine a little louder in discomfort. Nooooo...biting bad! Biting bad! If only he could speak... His lavendar eyes widened behind his blindfold when his hair went under attack...and his crying stopped, instead giving into ticklish giggles, wiggling underneath Yashima....so much so that he didn't hear the fox's reprimand.
Akilah, now that he was gone, was the cause f Patricks sigh of relief. "I swear to the gods... That b oy can KILL my stress level. Kill, I mean, by shooting it up ten million damn points." Another shake, an amused glance going down to the shadowed fox-kit and drow-baby. "They are are cuddly. I wonder if that's a baby thing or if we're going to have a LOT of sleepovers in our future. What do you think, Neveah?" Iamels eyes, while wary, were on the babies as well. HE never looked like that. He was never a squirmy flesh packet that couldn't speak or move or even walk that well. Was everything like that? He knew Akuti hadn't either, and most of the kids hadn't been BORN like the two in Patricks stoamch. Was that something that everyone did too? Maybe the two in his tummy were just..special or something? Because Kian hadn't been born. Nor had Akilah or or... Maybe it was just him. "I want to go see the bugs." Red eyes darted up, as if DARING any of the adults to say otherwise. "I like spiders." Yashi wriggled a wee bit, pouting at the whining but...he had KICKED him, damnit! He had KICKED him! So the biting was deserved. When the wriggles started, though, he settled down his own, giving his cheek an affectionate lick. Taste like dark, the fox grumbled mentally.
"Zah does that to me too..." Neveah admitted quickly. This was expected of course, considering Zasalamel was her very first chlid. Her gaze then went down towards the current subjects of conversation. The butterfly smiled, leaning down to fix a peice of Zah's hood. "Well...I'm fairly sure we'll be seeing a lot of eachother. They've been attached to eachother since Zah was a ghost baby...so I doubt its a baby thing." She paused for a moment, just to watch the infant and toddler. "That and Zah's only this happy at home when he's having a bath...or when something moves in his room and the shadows play on the walls." Yeah. Her baby was weird. Shut up. "Bugs?" Neveah said, looking back down at her little booklet, completely missing Iamel's daring glare. "I, personally, would like to see the outerspace exhibit...." She trailed off, flipping through her book...still completely missing that look. "But if you wanna see the bugs first, we'll go see the bugs first!" She sounded cheery now, and was marking things down on the booklet. Might as well get them out of the way first, anyway~ "Huh...how fitting, that exhibit's in the lower levels..." "Okay, lets go find those bugs!" Neveah hummed out, using her museum map as her guide as she started pushing the wagon down one of the hallways, towards the elevators. Zah babbled a bit when he was licked, lightly hitting the cheek that had been licked, since he didn't have enough control to rub it. "Brrrrrah!" He squealed out happily, throwing his chubby little arms around Yashi's head for a big, happy hug. But then, something brushed his lips! It was soft and furry, like the furry thing that had covered him before...! With a questioning babble, he bit down on the brushing furry thing (which wouldn't hurt since he didn't have teeth), which happened to be Yashima's ear, and started gumming on it happily. "Mmmuh" He mummbled, muffled by the ear.
"Yashi's a rather smiley little brat... I was surprised. Ah well! You can be Auntie Neveah, then, as you'll probably get to know my family rather well." The dark man grinned and pointed the way, steering the herd of chilluns and butterflies over to the elevators. "To the lower levels! And we canuncover Zah and Yashi and let them flutter about to their hearts content." She IGNORED him. The little b***h. But at least she listened. Iamel fluttered his wings a little, wheeling hte kids towards the elevator. Once those doors pinged! open, he rushed inside, looking rather proud. "INWARD!" Yashima squealed and laughed at the happy embrace, nuzzling into him comfortably, tails giving his friend an affectionate squeeze. He was so cute and soft and happy and O! How Yashima adored...oh. What was THAT? The fox from for a moment, feeling that toothless mouth maul at him and he absolutely melted. Muscles relaxed and he leaaaned against Zah, thrumming happily in purrs
"Auntie Neveah...That'll be the first and last time someone calls me that!" As a butterfly, she never really congregated with her family...which she assumed was a rather large one. "But! Uncle Patrick sounds good to me, too! Ah...there's not many people in my family to get to know...there's just the two of us." And really, she wouldn't have it any other way. At the mention of fluttering, Neveah giggled happily. "I highly dount they'll flutter, but they most certainly could maul eachother without all that fabric in the way." Neveah was surprised at how big the elevators were...it seemed to have no trouble holding both of their 'groups', which was really mostly Patrick's group, and the two wagons. She even breathed out an air of awe...she didn't feel claustrophobic! Well, her wings were scrunched slightly against one of the walls and that kind of hurt, but oh well. When the doors reopened to the lower level, she held open the doors long enough to let everyone out. "Ohhhkay kiddies! The spider exhibit is through that black door over there...it'll be fairly dark, so becareful!" Ugh...spiders... Zah's eyes wavered behind his blindfold; one eye closed then the other in a rather lopsided, tired blink. He was holding Yashima's hair while he gummed on his friend's ear, and really...it was putting him to sleep. It was just too comfy! He was on the verge of falling asleep but then....he felt everything get cold. And Dark. Within seconds he was wide awake, squirming and whining pathetically as a means to get all these blasted clothes off of him! It was dark, he could run around naked now! ...Or something like that.
"Not if we have the kids hang out often, it won't be." He laughs and shakes his head a wee bit, glancing down at the carts they were pushing, filled with the spawn. "I don't mind Uncle Patrick too much. Iamel calls me Shiniee." The dark mans lips quirked a little bit, head shaking once more. "They're mauling machines - I haven't seen Yashi so outwardly affectionate in a long time." The kids fidgeted and giggled and shoved and pushed, but it was mostly a peaceful affair. Once the doors opened, they tumbled out and spread their own way. Neveahs announcement herded them towards the exhibit - Akilah was squealing. "Food! Food an'spiiiideeees!" Yashima was falling asleep as well, purring sleepily and leaning against his friends warm warm frame. The gnawing at his ear was sooooo relaxing and soo - WHAAAA? He was moving. His own voice was a whine, wriggling at the other and patting at his head akwardly. "Nani?"
"Well, I meant long term. I uh, am far from close with my own family." So much so she wasn't even sure who was still alive or not. "I noticed...how'd you end up with that name, anyway?" Smiling affectionately, she tilted her head down and watched their pile of fox-and-drow. "I only see Zah this affectionate around Yashima and my slippers...but he's more affectionate with Yashima." For whatever reason, he liked her fuzzy slippers. Neveah watched Akilah as he squealed. "...Are you sure we were right to bring him?" She whispered to Patrick...if he hate the spiders, the museum might me on their case. Museum Curators were scary, that she knew VERY well. Zah was on the verge of crying now. WHY was he still in these clothes?! He'd let go of Yashima, and started attempting to tug on his blindfold...which failed because he didn't have the coordination to get it off...but he did have better luck in tugging on his hood. When Neveah finally stopped the wagon off to the side of the main walk in the dark exhibit, she knelt down and weasled her hands between fox and drow, working at the buttons on the blanket-cloak. As always, Zah partially silenced his wails at Neveah's touch...but he kept whimpering in infantile impatience. "Ah, 'Lamel wants his cloak off Yashi, so he can see and not get hurt." She informed the kit as she worked the crimson and black fabric off of her son. Once he was only in his pants, diaper and shoes (she knew he didn't like to wear a lot of clothes), she stood back up and pushed the cart back onto the main path...of course ruffling the Drow's already unruly mop of hair. Once the blindfold was off, Zah blinked his slanted lavendar eyes, his voice raising in a rather shrill, but rather pleased squeal, stretching out as best as he could. There was still light, but there wasn't much light, and it didn't hurt as much, so it was all good! In celebration, he gave his friend a big baby hug and licked the other boy's check, since Yashima had done that to him once.
"Well, family is over rated sometimes. My mother is brainless and my father is just...not into noticing." He laughed and crinkled up his nose a wee bit. "Yashi likes his dolls ut otherwise..." It tapered off as the children scattered into the cold darkness. He knew Iamel well enough to know that none of the kids would be out of his eldests sight for very long. Iamel was more of a parent figure then patrick was at some times... It wasn't a good thing but the dark man had never ASKED for kids, now did he? Yashi whined and wriggled still, chewing at his lower lip with a whine. "Zaaawsaaaw.." A grumble and his chubby fingers latched in the babies diaper. Another tug of his fingers, pouting up at Neveah with the closest thing with a scowly face he could muster up. His lower lip poked out, huffing before managing to crawl himself out of the basket. Butt his floor and the toddler managed to wriggle his way to his feet, squealing happily. "Spideeee!"

Title Shavri, Artemis Crying all around~!
The journey to the shops had been successful, and Youko had enjoyed his 'time off' the day before. But now, he was happy to have Shavri back with him, and the ghost was happy as well. The tiny wand was in his hair, stuck through the top half which was curled into a bun while the rest hung down his back to his waist. The two had been enjoying a walk, and Youko spied the wand shop where he'd originally been 'introduced' to Shavri. With a smile, he glanced up towards the ghost. "Want to go visiting?" he asked, and was rewarded with a light giggle in his mind as the ghost bobbed up and down in agreement.
"Alright then, we will." Pulling open the door of the shop, Youko immediately headed for the portal to HQ, stepping through it easily and looking around to see if anyone else was in attendance.
Normally, he would have stepped into a well lit area...but this time, the room was pitch black. There was little to no light in the room, but where there was a lack of light, there was an abundance of voices. Actually, there was just two voices, one obviously an affectionate adult and the other a partially giggling infant.
"Waaah! Stop wiggling! Stay sti--Oh, nevermind." The giggling ceased when the command was given, though the command itself was more of a amused comment than anything. "Okay there, all done! And in record time, too! I'm getting so good at this~!" The woman keened next...and after a moment of silence (save for strange snapping noises, like putting buttons together), there was a disgruntled sigh. "You know, you don't have to be so serious..."
Without realizing anyone else was around, the woman stood and headed towards one of the walls, her footsteps on the floor dictating her movements. "Okay Zah, Momma's gonna turn on the lights now...I'm sorry!" She warned. Then, like she'd said, the lights went back on in the room, followed really shortly by a low, pathetic whine.
"...Oh!" She breathed out, now realizing someone else was in the HQ. "I'm sorry...! I didn't even hear you come in...!" She apologized frantically, quickly taking off the infrared glasses she wore in the dark, resting them on top of her head, a red and black cloaked bundle held close to her in one arm.
Ari rose from bed early today, she yawned, and stretched, and looked over to the crib. Artemis was still slumbering softy, and Ari just had to smile sweetly. The girl was so cute, and Ari had every reason to believe that she knew it too.
It had been a few days, and Ari and Artemis had mostly hung out together, Ari had been reading to Artemis and had been playing with Artemis, but there was no denying that children of all ages needed friends, companions their own age to play with. The more Ari had thought about it the more determined she was.
Ari would take Artemis back to the shop, and see if there were other babies that maybe Artemis would be able to play with, if she would wake up that is.
Ari smiled, got dressed, and got Artemis ready and in her carrier. It was a rather short walk to the shop, whose door was currently open, and the mysterious back door to another building, which was also open. Ari was starting to suspect that the doors were always open for guardians, as she walked into the shop, and then into headquarters.
The room was dark, and then bright, she heard a baby whine and a woman apologize. Ari slowly stepped in, not sure if her presence would be bothersome or not. But as Artemis seemed to love doing to Ari, the more quiet the woman tried to be, the more likely?
Artemis woke up and, for some reason or another began to cry out. She wasn?t crying, or screaming, just attempting to be loud. After the many nights of being with an upset Artemis, she knew, this wasn?t that. ?Sorry.? She muttered quickly setting down the carrier and picking up Artemis to hold her. ?She likes to make noise?? Ari said, almost certain her words were true.
Youko stayed still, blinking a few times as his eyes adjusted to the sudden light. "It's alright," he said, finally able to see the others in the room as well as the infant with one and the... bundle with another.
Shavri didn't mind the light or dark at all and simply burbled happily into Youko's mind as she yanked her wand loose and floated over towards the bundle in Enoh's arms. A soft yelp left the fox as his eyes suddenly became covered with hair, and he pushed it back. "Sorry if I intruded. Shavri wanted to come visiting...." He noticed where said ghost was heading then, and called to her. "Shavri honey, don't be a pest."
"Oh, no intrusion at all! Its a free building...thing." Neveah reassured. It wasn't her house, so she couldn't say no to any visitors anyway, even if they were intruding. Blinking her angled eyes when the sound of another baby filled the air, the butterfly woman tilted her head to the side, focusing on the other guardian and child in the room. "Oh...I'm used to loud babies, no worries! Zah's loud enough for about five babies on his own." A nervous giggle followed.
As if on cue, the rather bundled baby started to babble as well. Some babbles sounded happy, others sounded disgruntled, but most of them just sounded like noise for the sake of noise.
Then, she spied the little ghostling floating towards her. "Ah! You've got a little ghostling too!" Slowly, the butterfly's arms relaxed slightly. "Its alright...As long as he stays covered I don't think he'll mind." Maybe. Hopefully. We'll see. "He just uh...Prefers the dark." She stated simply...understatement of the year, of course.
"By the way! I'm Neveah, and his name is Zasalamel. I'd show him, but in the light he'd start shrieking so..." She let herself trail off, hoping they get the drift. Geez, she sounded like she had a mysterious baby.
At the mention of light, the infant's babbles turned into thin cries of protest. He knew what light was, and he knew it was a bad, bad thing! He was crying in hopes of discouraging anyone from subjecting him to that aweful bright hurting thing.
Ari rocked Artemis in her arms, attempting to smother a giggle, ?Zasa-.? She gave up saying his name for now, just so she didn?t butcher it; it wasn?t like anything she?d heard before. ?Well Artemis also prefers the dark too,? Artemis agreed with a bubbling noise then a squeak of her lungs, as if she were trying to speak. ?She?s a night owl if I?ve ever seen one,? Ari chuckled, "Can't get her to sleep at night, no matter what I do. I'm hoping she grows out of it."
Artemis stretched her arms out at the floating mist of air that the lady Neveah had called a ghost, she began to gurgle, shout and coo over and over again, Ari had to adjust her grip to keep the girl from flying out of her arms, which Ari figured was probably the point. ?My Name is Ariel Mason, nice to meet you all.? She nodded at Neveah, Zah, the ghost and the man who seemed to be the Ghost?s guardian. "You can call me Ari if you'd like." She smiled, hoping to make a good impression.
"It's good to meet you," Youko replied, bowing politely to both women. "I'm Youko Gingitsune, it's a pleasure." He grinned to Artemis, watching the baby and wondering if that's what Shavri would be like as well. "Shavri doesn't really know the difference between day and night. She sleeps or wakes equally between them.
The ghost in question was thoroughly entranced by the noisy blanket. She'd never seen one of THOSE before! Maybe there was something inside? The wand settled on the bundle as the ghost slipped underneath a fold of fabric, worming her way in towards the source of the sound. She had to say hello, if it was something she could talk to, after all!
"Zah for short." Neveah cut in quickly, her pale face sporting a small blush. "He and Yashima picked it out so..." Naturally, she meant 'So its not my fault his name is difficult'. The butterfly groaned thinly...so she wasn't the only person whose baby liked not sleeping when he should.
"Nice to meet you both!" Neveah was sincerely cheerful. She liked meeting other people...because the people she worked with where annoying buggers...that and these people might offer babysitting, like Neph did! Then, the butterfly went silent, focusing her attention on her little drow...she was nervous now. For both the infant's sake and for their ears' sake. Slowly, Neveah leaned down as if bowing, using her own body to cast a shadow over the bundle, just in case.
What's this, an intruder? The drow's crying quieted instantly, trying to look at whatever it was that was worming through his blanket...which was easier said than done, considering he wore a blindfold. With a confused 'bah', he tried to touch and pet what was right on top of him. Eh? Female but Male? Whimpering in confusion, the baby withdrew his hand and tried to make himself smaller...this thing was but wasn't female! In this situation, he hadn't the faintest idea of what to do...!
So he did what he was good at. He cried.
Ari had the image of the fox child flash in her mind, though she wasn?t sure he was the one she spoke of. But the child had begun to cry. The sound wasn?t much different then when Artemis cried, maybe a little lower in octave.
Artemis looked uncomfortable, like she too wanted to join in the crying. She sat Artemis down in the carrier and went over to the light switch. Se turned off the lights, hoping to help the baby who hated light, calm down. ?
She went back over to Artemis in time for her too, to start crying. Ari picked her up and rocked her, ?Shhh, there there, I?m here it?s ok?.? But Artemis must have decided that the baby boy crying was too much, for she vanished. Ari still felt the weight of Artemis, so she still held, and rocked her. Just she appeared to be holding nothing?
Why did everyone CRY around her?? Shavri whimpered softly, immediately curling into a fluffball in the blanket and letting out a wail that (thankfully) only Youko could hear.
It meant that the two women wouldn't have to deal with a trio of screaming, but Youko (unfortunately) DID hear them all. His ears pinned back against his head as the room was plunged into darkness again and he closed his eyes immediately to let them adjust faster. "You can leave it off," he said simply, trying to figure out how to get Shavri without upsetting the other baby even more. "I can see reasonably in the dark once I adjust. Shavri, come out of there, please..." He didn't want to REACH for her. Gods knew what havoc that would cause.
The ghost wasn't listening, crying miserably in the blanket as she tried to figure out why everyone DID that. She didn't even have to SAY anything and they cried!
Neveah squeaked a bit once the lights went out, scrambling to put her infrared glasses back on since she, unlike everyone else, had aweful eyesight in the dark. Shortly after, she went right back to try and calm her infant down, beind mindful of the ghost that seemed to use Zah as a pillow. "Zah! Zah its okay...She's not going to hurt you! Really she isn't. And look! Its dark now. Calm down, please calm down!" The butterfly was only guessing the ghost was female; it was the only other reason for Zah to start crying like he was.
Sitting down, the butterfly put the baby on her lap and started to peel away the makeshift cloak, including the blindfold the lavendar eyed baby wore. "There, see? No light!"
Whether it was by Neveah's insistance, the fact the lights were turned off, or perhaps both, the infant slowly stopped his wailing...though it left him with a mild case of the hiccups. "There you go...see? I think you made the little ghostling and the other little baby very sad Zah...want to make it all better?" She coo'd out softly, petting the mop of snow white hair the drow possessed.
Hiccupping, the infant stared at his guardian, then wiggled his arms free of the restricting cloth. "Muu...Buh?" He queried in baby babble, hesitantly petting at the fluffball on his stomach, followed by a trail of hesitantly cheery babbles as if to get back onto the good side of this...female-yet-not-female thing.
Then, leaning his head back, he babbled louder for the other baby...he knew that baby was female too, but since his mother wanted him to make it better...he had to. He babbled a few more times to the females, still trying to be apologetic and cheery at the same time. Once he was happy with his hopefully cheering babbles, he went back to staring at Neveah...hoping she was happy now, too.
"Oh...Good boy, Zah!" She keened out, fluffing his hair to make him giggle. "Whew...I'm so sorry again, everyone..." Her antennae lowered into her hair as she looked up, looking at the others through the infrared glasses. "You...don't mind if we keep the light off for a bit, do you?"
"I don't mind at all," Youko said, finally able to discern shapes and figures in the dark. It didn't take TOO long for his eyes to adjust, and once he was able to see again, he moved to peer at the baby. "It's alright, little one," he whispered, trying to keep his voice soothing. "Shavri didn't mean to scare you, she's just curious."
Shavri, meanwhile was sniffling softly to herself, watching the boy still. He wasn't crying anymore? This was good... and after a moment or two, her curiosity came back full force, the ghost nestling up against Zas and inspecting him thoroughly.
Ari gradually began to be able to see Artemis, It took a bit from Zah's calming down for Artemis to calm down. Ari had a feeling that Artemis only cried to back up the boy. "The lights can stay off." Ari responded, feeling better that Artemis was becoming visable again.
Ari went to the carrier and picked up Ari's blanket and wrapped it around her. This seemed to be the final touch. Then, recalling the other day, Ari gradually walked over to Zah. She hoped that Neph's advice prooved right with two children and a ghost baby.
"Artemis this is Zah, wanna say hi?" She spoke cheefully at the child, and Artemis giggled, and bgan to babble on in baby tounge. Ari looked over her shoulder to the man who was also standing near, "What is the name of your ghost?" She asked, cheerfully, hoping that she could introduce Artemis to the ghostling as well.
"Her name is Shavri," Youko replied, settling on the couch and watching as Shavri finished her inspection of Zas, then moved to Artemis and hovered near the girl curiously. "And she's a handful already," he chuckled, leaning back a bit and watching the interaction between the pair.
Ari looked over at the bundle that was Zah and the ghostling. She smiled, "Artemis this is Shavri," Artemis giggled, but paused, and then giggled more, she seemed to be talking a mile a minute. The ghostling had floated over near Artemis and the baby reached out her little arms in attempt to touch the new creature. Curious, yet cautious, Artemis smiled and made a large sound with her mouth.
"I think Artemis likes Shavri," Ari unwrapped artemis, putting her blanket on the ground and setting Artemis on her back to better play with the ghostling. Artemis attempted to turn over again to try to crawl, and once again, seemed unable, so she rolled over again giggling, and making more noise while on her back.
"She likes to try to crawl, I wish I knew how to help her with it, but it might be better for her to learn on her own." she explained to the other guardian.
Nodding, Youko smiled. "Best to learn on her own... might want to try putting her down on her belly or something, that might help too. Or getting her to sit up?" He'd been through this with Raven and Kendall... and Omi, and Kaeru... and was actually looking forward to it with Shavri as well.
The ghost was hovering over Artemis now, bobbing back and forth as she was inspected by the baby, and did her own inspection as well. Part of her was wondering if she really wanted to BE a baby, seeing how hard it was to get around...
Ari smiled at the guy, "Thank you for confirming, I was afraid I was a little nuts...But I shall try your suggestions." to proove it she knelt down near Artemis and picked her up, grabbed the blanket and made a small support for Artemis as she sat the baby down in sitting position. The support was just so that when Ari let go, Artemis didn't fall back and hit her head. Yet she hoped it was small enough to allow Artemis to learn how to use her back muscles to keep herself up. "How's that?"
Artemis had noticed a change in her position and kinda enjoyed it, despite the fact that it was a tad uncomfortable, because it allowed her to get a closer look at the puff of gas that was hovering above her. She gave a joyful cry at her new ability to reach higher.
Grinning, Youko watched the pair and curled into the couch. "It'll help, but don't expect miracles overnight."
Shavri was happy with the change as well, and darted here and there near Artemis' fingertips. Youko could hear her squealing in glee as she played the 'game' of keepaway. This was fun!!
Unfortunately, like all fun, it had to come to an end at some point. "Honey, we have to go soon," he said, eliciting a drooped posture of annoyance from the ghost. "Sorry," he apologized to all three of them, smiling sheepishly. "It's almost dinnertime and we weren't going to be stopping for long anyway. "Say goodbye to Artemis!"
Shavri did so, as best she could, darting to Artemis and brushing against her cheek lightly.
"Bye Youko, Hopefully Artemis and Shavri can get together another time?" Ari called as the two were leaving. She waved to signal that she understood that they had to go. "Artemis say goodbye to Shavri."
Artemis giggled and waved as the ghost friend went away. But when she realized that the ghostling was really leaving, she began to cry. Ari went over to Artemis and picked her up. "Shhh, you'll See Shavri again soon, I'm sure of it, so don't cry." Ari petted Artemis's back and kissed the childs head. Artemis immediatly calmed down.

Title Letter to Philos 3 June 21st, 2006
Philos;
Zasalamel is...interesting, to say the least. He's kind of on the energetic side, even for an infant. I noticed that even at a young age, he's a little longer than the other babies. I'm thinking this means that he'll grow up to be taller.
His eyes are angled and almond shaped, and his irises are lavendar in colour...so perhaps the writings on how all the Drow are red-eyed are wrong? Perhaps lavendar eyes is a rarity among them? Like the rest of the writings, his hair is snow white and his skin is pretty obsidian black, so that can stay in the record books. As for sensitivity...he can't stand any light on his skin at the moment, so his room is completely black, and the windows are blocked. When we go out, I have to put a blindfold over his eyes, as well as cover him from head to toe in fabric, just to make him happy in the darkness.
Needless to say, I've invested in nightvision goggles. I wear them constantly now.
He seems to have some control over spiders...a friend of mine and his kids, plus myself and Zah, went to the spider exhibit at the science museum. My little Drow actually told a spider to get away from me because it scared me (at least, I think that's what he said to it...). It actually listened to him...it went away!
He probably did this to protect me. He must see me as his Matron, because he listens to me on occasion (hey, he's a baby), not to mention he seems a little more at ease with me than he does with any other woman. Yes, he's showing signs of fearing the female gender, even moreso now that he's materialized.
On the subject of learning and growth...he's learning fast. He's an infant yes, but he's already making quite a bit of different noises. He's already learned how to roll onto his stomach, and he can crawl on his own for a little bit at a time. Not to mention he's had a couple of mock-play fights with a female friend of his...which is odd.
People-wise, he seems quite out of the mould for what we know on the Drow. He's overly affectionate to my friend's toddler, and he seems in good enough spirits with any other person...well, as long as they don't make any moves towards me, anyway. Its strange to see an infant acting this way...but he does.
More to come.

Title Private Journal Entry 010 June 30th, 2006
Diary;
Have you ever seen a baby try to do a handstand? IT IS THE MOST HILARIOUS THING EVER! I don't think he meant to try the handstand, but he managed to do it anyway. I'm not even sure HOW he pulled it off. He just did. I looked once and he was staring at me, and five minutes later I look again and he's on his head!
I think I died laughing then. GOD I love my baby. Yeah thats right, you heard me. This butterfly loves something she still doesn't think she can take proper care of. Go away.
Life has been interesting with Zah. Between the two of us, we've met so many neat people...and they're all so awesome! I envy their parenting skills.
Aside from being really cool, they all have kind of odd names...Onuris, Youko, Shavri...the list goes on. Then again, who am I to talk? Miss Neveah Surugata. Why do I have a Japanese surname, when I'm not even Japanese in any way? I think my parents decided 'WE LIKE THIS NAME!' and stuck it to the end of their own names. But anyway, I disgress.
Shavri and Zah get along well...they spent quite a bit of time poking and prodding eachother over Yashima...who I didn't think appreciated that too much. As for Yashima, he and Zah get along VERY WELL. They're like, Cuddle-mauling machines. We need the jaws of life just to get them apart...most likely. Patrick adopted me as 'Auntie Neveah'...That makes me so happy! I never thought I'd be an aunt! Heeeee!
By the way, Zah saved me from a spider. He's my hero. That's right, not only do I adore my baby, but he's my hero. Shut up.

Title Private Journal Entry 011 July 5th, 2006
Diary;
So, Philos sent me a note...he wants me to go see him one weekend.
This already makes me uneasy...Philos is a wicked man, and the fact he wants to see me about Zasalamel...its sending warning signals to me. I don't trust him around my little Drow (its amazing how protective I've gotten...). I've already made arrangements with Malen so Zah could stay there while I'm gone, and I'll make up some excuse to Philos about him being sick or something. The old man has to accept that, right?
Still...what would he want? The letter sounded so...so urgent...
I'm worried. For myself. For Zasalamel.
...Mostly for Zasalamel.
Wish me luck...

Title Toddler-ified! Oh god..he can WALK...
Neveah groaned, spread out on the couch on her stomach. It was hot out tonight, maybe hotter than it was during the day. She didn't like the heat, it made her wings hurt. Those glittering black and blue appendages of hers draped over the couch's edge, finding themselves useful as a canopy to shade a certain little boy from a little portion of heat.
Oh she envied him. She never could use her wings to shade herself. They didn't want to bend that way.
"Lucky b*****d..." She found herself muttering under her breath as she watched her charge. "Yeah, I was talking to you!" She keened out next, after noticing Zah's bright lavendar eyes were staring directly at her. With a thin chuckle, she reached out and tickled the little Drow's belly. "They're my wings, not yours! They should be useful to me, yes they should!" Obviously the butterfly was teasing him now, doing anything she could to get the little boy to do that squealing laughter she couldn't help but love.
"Aaaaaahbuh~" Zasalamel decided after a moment or two, grunting as he rolled himself onto his stomach and pushed himself onto his chubby little black hands and equally chubby black knees. Glancing back at the draped butterfly, he slowly started to crawl off into the shadows.
If it weren't for the fact Neveah cleverly dressed him in white, he might have completely disappeared between the chairs. Black skinned babies and no lights on in a dark house was usually a problem. Usually.
"Hey..." Neveah drawled out lazily, watching the faint outline of white hair and clothing get smaller and smaller. "Ugh...You Twerp...! Where do you think you're goin', eh?" This time, Neveah was slowly starting to get ready to move off of the couch. "..I'm too hot and lazy to chase after yoooou..." She whined pathetically, but was met with no answer.
The red flags went up.
"Zah?!" Neveah cried out, forcing herself off of the couch. It gave her a nasty run-in with the carpeted floor, but that wasn't important now. What was important was that her baby wasn't answering her. He always answered her in some way.
With her wings in the air and crawling on all fours, Neveah scrambled after the little Drow, taking the exact same path he did; across the living room, between two of the couches, then of course she put her hand in something slimey just enough to startle her into slipping, then continued on through the slime into the dark hallway and---
...Wait a second. There was no slime there before!
Stopping, the butterfly looked at her hand, her expression similar to one who had just eaten something raw and most likely covered in worms. While it was disgusting, it was fairly scentless and rather warm to the touch...not that it made her feel any better, but at least she knew she wouldn't have to air out the house. More importantly was the fact that there was slime where her son had been. Slime was something she knew for a fact a baby didn't come with. Well, if they weren't actually born they didn't come with slime.
"Okay Zasalamel, stop sliming all over the floor and tell me where you are, damnit!" It was dark inside the house, and all she had to find the boy was the trail of slime. Of course, the slime was doing a great job of completely soaking her legs and spreading over her clothes. Wonderful. It crossed her mind to get up and turn on a light...hearing Zah scream would be a good indication of where he was after all, but two things kept her from doing so. One, it wasn't nice, and two, more importantly, she might slip, fall and break her head open...and a bleeding head didn't do much good when scouting to find an infant.
So, the slime would have to do.
The trail ended at the end of the hallway, right in front of the end-of-the-hall closet. All she felt was the laundry basket's wicker surface, dustbunnies, and of course cobwebs. Nothing all that unusual...until of course, something slick dripped on her head. That was out of the ordinary. "...Zah?"
"Buh?" Finally, a response! Somehow though, it didn't sound like her squeaky little baby. It sounded more like a squeaky little kid. That didn't matter though, what mattered was that he was answering her now!
"Zasalamel, finally! Are you playing hide and seek?" She cooed out, partially annoyed and partially relieved that he was nearby. "And what's with the slime, kid?" The butterfly was now running her fingers along the wicker basket until she found the edge of it...which was around the same time she heard the sounds of a slimey shuffle and the familiar, yet unfamiliar giggle of her little charge. "You're in the basket...? How on GAIA did you get in there...?" She was muttering to herself, finding a relatively firm kneehold in the slime so she could reach into the basket. Of course, everything in there was covered in slime, too. Gross!
"Got you!" She cried out happily, her earlier fear forgotten (but the disgust of the slime and the curiousity of how it got there was still prominent) in this new game. Her hands had grabbed what she assumed to be a squirming and laughing Zah, slime and all. He felt...different, somehow. The clothes were less baggy for starters. When she went to pick him up, she also realized how HEAVY he was.
"Holy crap, Zah...You need to go on a diet!" She never remembered him being this heavy earler...or this big, for that matter. It was like he'd just suddenly grown a very slimey growth! "...Wait." Neveah, though she slid a couple of times, managed to carry the slick boy to the bathroom while walking on her knees, where she sat him in the tub and flicked on the dull lighting overhead. When she turned back to the little Drow, she was surprised to see that he had, in fact, grown. He had to have been a toddler now, though she had to admit he seemed taller and thinner than any other toddler she'd seen...but everything she was used to was still there. He was still dark skinned, his hair was still a mop of white (though it was a longer mop of white), and his eyes were still angled, big, and purple. Aside from the size difference and the slime, he was still the baby she'd gotten used to. Nothing to really spazz over just yet, she assumed.
"I take it back, you're not going to diet...I'm gonna make you eat more, you skinny little twerp." She coo'd out, leaning against the bathtub and pulling the wet clothes off of the boy. "Why is it that everytime you grow, I end up needing to clean you, myself, and the house?" She asked him good-naturedly, well aware that he was just staring at her.
He seemed to shrug, but she couldn't tell for sure. Neveah prattled on anyway as she washed the slime from him, telling him how happy she was that she wouldn't have to carry him as often, and also informing him that she'd have to blame him if she got stuck with anymore kids when she went out to get him new clothes...but that she'd still love him anyway...basically, she was just being herself. The boy stared at her the entire time, apparently listening to every word unless he got bored and decided to see how high and far he could splash the water.
Poor Neveah didn't realize how much work a toddler would actually be...

Title Kay's Birthday Party! AHH A WEEKEND AWAY WITH GIRLS WAAAAH
Kay's party!
It didn't start well AT ALL. In fact, Zah was not only paranoid about it only being him with a bunch of girls, but
he also found himself as a cusion for another Ghost's fall! Not a good start I'd say...
