Ed shrugged, dipping a fry in his beer as well. "Hey, I bought it." He ate the fry and paused. "You're right, tastes better dunked in beer."

The woman stared across the table at Ed for a moment. Then Hell froze over as the corners of her mouth twitched upwards into a small smile. She placed a hand over her mouth and burst out in a quick laugh, then looked away and closed her eyes. It had to be the alcohol getting to her... she didn't normally even smile.
Her mood did turn sour shortly after as the bartender came up and put a drink on her table in front of her. "From the boys down there." He said gruffly, jerking his head back to the guys she'd caught looking at her earlier.
Koorie felt her eye twitch as she looked disdainfully at the already bought drink and she contemplated on how well it would look dumped over their dumb heads.

Ed saw her look and smirked. "Don't care for the drink? Or is it the drooling idiots you object to?" He reached over to the catch-all on the end of the table and picked up one of the laminated cards printed with the songs available on the jukebox. Glancing over the list, he spun the card around and slid it over to Koorie, his finger pointing to a song. "You could always show your appreciation with a song," he suggested, faux innocently. ((This is so Koorie's theme song.)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TaKXVQuG6Y

She wasn't sure if it was the alcohol, or just the fact that the look on the men's face would be priceless as she completely rejected and insulted them all at once in a very public place, but some how she felt that it would be worth it. Leaning over, she skimmed through the list, noting both the first song Ed recommended, then another one farther down. "Oh, I think we've found a winner.... hell, I know this song backwards and front." She looked up at Ed and grinned, danger sparkling in her eyes. "Care for an interesting show? I know you said no to karaoke, but I can promise if you can get me a mike here I'll make it worth while.... I always have loved crushing a man's ego." (Hahaha, that one or my own personal favorite for her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPEh-OgFfhk ))

"Normally, I'd advise maintaining the peace. But sending a drink to a girl sitting with another guy kinda sounds like something that could use an attitude adjustment. The bartender will give you a mic if you ask on your way to the jukebox," Ed told Koorie. If it did descend into a bar brawl, he was pretty certain that the Machamps could handle it.

With a grin that spoke nothing but trouble, Koorie slid out of her chair and tossed a glance casually to the guys from earlier, getting their attention. As instructed by Ed, she picked up a mic on the way to the Jukebox and selected her song. Turning around, she easily commanded the stage, just as she was used to when on a performance with her band.
"This is a special little shout out to the boys who sent me a drink earlier. Lemme tell you just how I feel about you all." Alcohol buzzed or not, Koorie could sing, and her voice easily hit the notes of the song as she started her ego-busting, making sure to point out EXACTLY which morons the song was dedicated to.
As the song progressed, the boys' faces turned from confusion to embarrassment and then finally to pure anger. As they sat there, waiting for their humiliation to end, the glowered at the woman before them who was clearly taking enjoyment in the situation; there would be trouble to follow. When the song ended and Koorie gave a casual wave to the applause, the stood up and confronted her on her way to the bar, blocking her from any means of escaping.
Koorie, hardly containing the taunting tone in her voice, raised an eyebrows. "Oh, didn't like the song?"

Ed stood and sauntered over, Zaire at his heels. At least, he knew it was Zaire. The gentlemen were probably too distracted by the illusion of the massive Cerberex to remember that he had come into the bar with a much smaller Zorua. "Problem, gentlemen?" he asked as Zaire growled, a deep, threatening bass rumble that sounded like it came from something with a chest at least the size of a beer keg.

The guys stepped back a little as Ed walked over, first noticing the uniform and not caring, then noticing the incredibly menacing Cerberex beside him and stepping back a little. They glanced at one another, waiting to see who was drunk enough to step up and challenge the guy to back off.
Instead, Koorie glided past them and placed a hand on Ed's shoulder, then looked calmly back to the boys. "If you thought my attack on your pride and ego was painful, why don't you stick around and see what else I can tear apart to little, itsy bitsy pieces." She made sure to make an exaggerated glance to the crotch area before giving a wicked smile.
The group didn't hesitate at this point to leave; she was a beauty, but she was a complete b***h and not worth the hassle. They'd just go to another bar and pick up on some other girls there.

"E~ed!" the bartender called.
"Two feet, eleven inches!" Ed replied cheerfully. The bartender raised a disbelieving eyebrow, but let it go.
Zaire, still appearing to be a Cerberex, glided back to the table, oversized muscles rolling smoothly under her sleek black hide. Once at the table, she somehow just faded into the shadows and disappeared.
Ed rolled his neck, and followed Zaire back to the table. Grabbing another fry, he dunked it in his beer and ate it. Glancing over at Koorie, he asked casually "You gonna order a drink you actually want, or do you feel the need to make it karaoke night here?"

"She's pretty convincing though." Koorie commented softly, removing her hand from Ed's shoulder. The show was over, entertainment having stormed off somewhere to lick their wounds and find some easier pray.
She slid into the seat across from him and raised an eyebrow as another fry was dunked into the beer, mildly amused at the fact that he really had meant it when he said he enjoyed it. "Weird.... Hm?" Her attention came back to his question and, for the rare moment, she laughed. "No, no more karaoke for tonight... not unless some other moron decides to buy me another drink. Present company excluded." She raised her hand to flag down someone and put in another order for a mojito.

Ed laughed at Koorie's exception for himself. "I bought you one drink! You can get yourself the rest!"
Popping another beer-dipped fry, Ed continued. "As for Zaire's illusions, she's getting better. She's best at imitating quadrupeds, and the closer to her own size, the easier it is. She's been practicing that particular illusion though, both the visual and the audio," Ed said proudly. "She's going to be a real pro when she has a little more experience."
Ed glanced towards the area under the table where his partner was sitting, a contemplative look on his face. "I do wonder about her though. Looking at her, she's the size of an adult Zorua. Thing is, she's still a pup, really, and should have a lot of her growing still left to do. She certainly hasn't grown into her paws yet! I get the feeling her coloration won't be the only unusual thing about her."

"Exactly, you've already purchased a drink, and I allowed it." She shrugged, teasing him a bit. "After all, it wasn't you I was insulting with a song now, was it?"
At the discussion about Zair, Koorie couldn't help but lean back ad glance under the table to get a better look at the pokemon. "Well, pokemon are a lot like humans; they don't come in cookie cutter shapes." She glanced up at Ed again, absently twirling a curl of her blue hair as she spoke. "Miu's certainly a bit smaller than your average Vulpix, and she's full grown. Part of it has to do with living on the streets when she was younger I'm sure, but genetics plays an important role in growth as well as nutrition." She wasn't a breeder, but she knew enough about health in general. Not to mention she was a healer.

"Yeah, you're right. And hey, bigger than average will be good for her as a police dog," Ed said. Dunking his last fry in his beer, Ed looked at his empty plate and mostly-gone beer with bits of fry floating in it. "Hmmm."
