"And she forgot the stars, the moon, and sun, And she forgot the blue above the trees, And she forgot the dells where waters run, And she forgot the chilly autumn breeze" -Keats, The Pot of Basil Prompt It had happened again. She knew it before she even opened her eyes. For one thing, her feet were freezing, which meant she was barefoot. She could also feel at least three rocks poking her side uncomfortably. Reluctantly, Charlotte opened first one vivid blue eye, then the other. She sat up tentatively, wincing as the myriad of tiny hurts she had acquired through the nighttime ramble began to send delicate little pains throughout her body. Her feet were the worst, though. It always seemed to be her feet that suffered. They were bruised and bleeding as if she had walked through a wild rose bush or three. She always swore to herself that she would wear slippers to bed and then always managed to kick them off in discomfort long before the dreaming started. The dreaming... and what, exactly, had last night's dream been? Clearly it had been a long one as she appeared to be in the forest. The forest... Charlotte hugged herself in the chill not-quite-morning air and finally took stock of her surroundings. Oh dear... She wasn't just in a wooded area. She was in The Forest. The one where they had sent her for her Witch's Trial. This couldn't be good. One didn't just waltz into the Forest of Trials for a lark, wether or not one was conscious at the time. "Drat." Charlotte said, standing up shakily. Her nightdress was torn and dirty beyond repair but at least she had her glasses, which she had started to wear to bed once she realized the sleepwalking was not going away any time soon. It had started several weeks ago. At first she had merely wandered her small apartment, but as the nights went on she had begun to traverse the back stairs that led down to her small used book store. In the mornings when she woke, often bruised from falling and knocking into things, she would find herself surrounded by tomes opened to seemingly random pages. But the memory of the dreams themselves eluded her. She always woke with no idea how she had gotten to wherever she was and with no clue as to why she had needed a lexicon on famous scrying bowls or the recipe for lemon pound cake. For awhile she had tried tying herself to the bed, but the exhaustion she accrued overnight as her body fought to escape was too much to bear. In the long run, Charlotte had decided that she might as well let her dreaming mind wander where it would, and perhaps eventually she would find out what she was trying to tell herself. If it was even her own subconscious driving her actions. The dream... Struggling to grasp even one tiny thread of memory, Charlotte frowned and shook her head. Her gaze roamed the forest immediately surrounding her, looking for any sort of clue that might tell her what she had been doing here. It was then that she noticed the fire; or rather, the ashes of what had been a fire some hours ago. Had she built it in the night? Had someone come across her sleeping form and built it to warm and protect her? There was a very deliberate circle of ash around the dead embers. Crawling closer, Charlotte noticed strange symbols drawn into the ash, symbols she had never seen before. Curiouser and curiouser... another mystery to add to the already growing pile of intrigue and strangeness that was present in her life. She sat there in front of the cold fire for a long time, long enough that the sun rose and dispersed the half-light that she had woken to, replacing it with the bright and straightforward glow of true morning. She sat there until she knew each symbol by heart and then finally stood. Home lay to the East, and with a measure of resolve Charlotte began walking towards the sun.

My boots are missing…Why are my boots missing? It was a strange thought to think of when one started to regain consciousness. But it was funny how it was always the little things that a person thought of first when they did not know where they were. Slowly lime green eyes opened and attempted to focus on to strangely darken tree silhouetted sky. The world was strangely silent except for a deafening roar that fill the young bootless man's ears.
It was hard to breath, his ears and head was ringing, and his boots were no longer on his pale feet. He turned his head and the world went reeling around him causing his stomach to attempt to retch and spill its contents onto the forest floor. The strong scent of bile was joined with another familiar scent, the warm metallic scent of fresh blood. Was it someone else's blood or was it his? Again his stomach retched and covered the ground with what was left inside it.
The second fit of vomiting brought a stabbing pain to the young man's abdomen. His slid a shaking hand down along his body to feel the warm wet torn clothes above his stomach. His shaking fingers slid into the tatters of his shirt and flicked across two deep gashes across his thin belly. This answered who's blood filled the air. Something had gored him, not deep enough to disembowel him luckily enough. What had gone after him?
I was hunting something. Something large. Dark wild eyes and a loud scratch flashed in his hazy memories followed by a hard slam to his chest and searing pain to his gut. What was I hunting? Slowly hazing green eyes dared to look around the woods in front of him and a dark smile crossed pale lips. So there are my boots he thought darkly as he saw his pair of boots on the ground fifteen feet from here he where he lay. He had been knocked out of them, he remembered now, by the large thing he had been after. Had he been left for dead?
A pained horse grunt brought the young man's gaze up from the boots. Slowly he tilted his head up to look higher on the ground and his eyes grew wide as they fell on the large down form of an enormous boar, still living, but like himself gravely wounded and downed. That was it! The boar was what he had come here to hunt. "Looks like we did a number on each other didn't we…I might be finished…how about you?" He asked the boar and received a grunt in return. He laughed softly and shut his eyes. He was sure that the boar might be able to make it. He really did hope the boar would make it back to its feet and make it away from him before someone came looking for the young royal. This boar earned his life and his freedom.

Taste of Jalapenos Vile of Pride Pedal of Rose Trinket of Charm Hint of Vanilla
You understand there is a 15,000 gold Fee if you win? Mhmm! You understand that this character requires at least 3 months of activity, or it will be rehomed, no refunds given? Of course~
RP Prompt:
Far off in the distance there was a noise… A noise? Locke could only see darkness but there was something pulling him. But where was it pulling him? Suddenly the noise, the squawk pierce into the darkness and his green eyes fluttered open in a rush. With a gasp of air he shot straight up. The sound of leaves and grass crunching under him, he was in the forest. Reaching up with his left hand he touched his head. Everything felt a little fuzzy and his head seemed to have gained some weight. With a quick shake of his head Locke immediately regretted it. He shouldn't have taken those last two shots.
Letting his eyes adjust the dim light he wasn’t able to tell the time just from looking at the sky. It could be dusk or dawn? Pondering such brought up the larger problem. How long has he been out for? Stretching out and glancing around his surroundings it seemed peaceful and nothing to harm him. What happened that night? Locke groaned as he knew he should get up but just felt completely drained of energy. Moving his hands to brush his pants he tried to remember how the night had started.
Oh that’s right, there was that pretty girl. He had a weakness for them, and he decided to humor the darling little thing. They went out to the bar in Moonfall right? Yeah… It started off like a normal evening. He ordered some drinks and was having a good time getting cozy with that girl. What was her name? Betty? Marie? With a shake of his head he couldn’t remember and he didn’t really care. So long as he remembered what she looked like, he would avoid her. Her boyfriend had been a rather large fellow. “Oh right, her boyfriend.” He said aloud. The evening was a blur of drinks and a lot of touching. With a chuckle Locke remembered the night fondly.
But that wasn’t what got him here. No, the girl was nothing but a pretty face and just when he was asking her back to his room a rather large fellow cut in. Now that he thought about it, the other guy knew exactly who he was, most others just thought he was a big spender. But this guy had that glint in his eye. Locke heaved a sigh dragging himself to his feet. Man, did he feel like s**t. It was worse than just the normal hang over. Moving his hands to rub his face he jerked them away quickly with a wince. He was able to hear running water nearby and lazily trudged in the direction of it. Only stumbling a few times before he reached it, falling to his knees he peered at his reflection. It wasn’t very clear due to the running water but he could see that he had a black eye. The other guy had a mean right hook. It took Locke right off his feet and he had landed on his butt. He remembered the rage he felt when the guy turned around and laughed at him saying he was a ‘delicate flower’. Flower my a**.
Locke cupped his hands in the water and grimaced as he splashed it onto his face. The sharp stinging jolted a few more memories. The whole thing was a set up. Locke couldn’t help but laugh dryly. It had only been a matter of time. He did some interesting things. It was bound to happen, someone would want revenge. But a small problem arose. When the fellow started to go after Locke exclaiming about right the wrongs that Locke had done to his girlfriend, Locke couldn’t remember which girl she was! He never harmed girls. He was a charmer, a lover for women. Not a fighter, even though to him any female was replaceable.
I got up off the floor when the guys back was turned. Locke remembered, he looked down at his hands and pictured how he picked up one of the stools from the table. He was going to punch the guy but he didn’t want to bruise his hands. He could still remember how the chair felt in his hands after he smacked the guy in the back with it. He went down like anyone would have but he didn’t get knocked out. “Sorry buddy. I didn’t want to get dirt under my nails.” Locke said to him. His delicate fingers slid into his dark violet strands brushing them from his face before he casually walked off with a bounce in his step humming to himself.
“Just another night on the town.” The witch laughed at his reflection, water trickling down his cheeks and slipping off his chin drip back into the stream. His nights out like that made for great stories. The girls ate them up like a fat kid did cake. But that didn’t quite explain how he ended up on the middle of the forest. Standing up, his body still a bit achey from sleeping on the ground he let his eyes look around. “The middle of the forest… I know I’ve woken up in strange places but I think I might really be stuck this time.” He placed a hand on his hip when the dim suns light caught something shiny. Making his way over to the bush that the glint came from Locke reached his hand out and found the gold chain that was normally in his hair. Using his other hand to reach up and feel around it wasn’t there. “Glad I found this. It’s my favorite.”
When he looked up from the bush he was able to see what looked like a staggered path was a recently made by a staggering drunk. Making a considering face it made sense; he must have come that way. He starting checking himself over as he wiggled his way through the brushes, he trampled around some trees. It didn’t seem like he was missing anything else, least nothing of real importance to him. But it was pretty easy to find the path he has made getting himself out there.
The young royal find himself looking at a small clearing next, with a fire pit and shards of clothing carelessly tossed about. He had obviously come this way but why did he come there? What happened? He concentrated really hard trying to remember what happened after the bar. There was a girl outside giggling at him and she made some routine comment about being impressed. Oh right, Locke wanted to get his jollies on and she suggested going out to a bonfire. Everything was going just like he wanted once they got out there.
Letting his eyes scan the circle blurry imagines passed through his mind. He could barely make out the girls face now. The shadows from the dancing flames hid her eyes, but the evening didn’t turn out like he was expecting. When she began to take of her clothing she started to chant something. At the time he thought it was just a song for her to strip too. But then he noticed the flames started to move unnaturally. The girl approached him getting in close and she used nimble hands to try and remove his clothing. The girl whispered in his ear, he could remember the feel of her breath against his flesh. But not what she said. Whatever it was she said, his eyes went wide, Locke had been too spooked and took multiple steps backward tripping over a log. And then took off into the forest.
Rubbing the side of his head in embarrassment he wondered why he just didn’t let her strip him. There was something odd… But before he could think to much more on the matter he was able to heard the sound of hooves coming this way. Hastily he adjusted his hair to cover his black eye. Looking expectant of something else strange, he was actually a little surprised to see guardsmen. The two of them looked down at Locke.
“Citizen, we received reports of dark magic use in this area. “ Their eyes narrowed at him. “Have you seen or heard anything?” One of them questioned.
Dark magic? Locke placed a hand on his hip. “Do you think I would be standing here if I knew anything about it?” The boy raised a brow. “Now kind sirs, would you mind lending a Prescott a horse? I went for a walk and I seem have gone farther than planned. I’m too tired to walk back.” With a start one of the men instantly climbed down with a bow offering Locke the reins.
With a smirk, Locke took them and hoisted himself into the saddle. “Have safe searching gentlemen. Your kindness won’t be forgotten.” He pulled the horse around and tapped his heels against the animal to move it forward.
Just another night.
