The girl shook her head at Lilika's questions. She honestly couldn't remember anything at all. She thought for a moment and said, quietly, "T-the only thing I can think of is two letters... L-U... Other than that... nothing..." The girl looked around and noticed a few people staring at her and she quickly looked away before she started to panic. She looked up at Lilika and said, quietly, "Y-your friends don't seem to like me very much... T-they keep staring at me..." Despite her fear, the girl tried to focus her brain on other things, such as why the letters L-U were all she could remember. "Lu... Lu... Lou? Louise? Lu... Lu? Lulu? That sounds familiar... maybe that's my name..." The girl blinked and was about to tell Lilika what she had figured out when the radio buzzed to life and someone started talking. He sounded gruff, but likeable, and he seemed to have an idea as to what was going on in the city. The girl tugged on Lilika's sleeve and whispered so only she could hear, "I-I think I figured out what my name might have been.... and w-what's this talk about m-mutants?" She asked, her eyes darting around the room frantically.

"Excuse me?" He asked taking a step back after the first ten words escaped from her seemingly insane lips. "You're a what? An Angel?" He asked as he looked her over once more. Before he could utter a single hint of a protest or a question of his own she barraged his senses with a seemingly endless amount of questions, he found himself dizzy for a moment just trying to keep up with this girl with a seemingly endless amount of energy. He shook his head lightly for a moment only able to answer about half of the questions only because he only managed to hear about half of them. "I guess I didn't my sister caught it and-" Before he could finish his statement he found himself starting another answer in a confused attempt to answer all of these many questions. "Well I believe most power is on a town sort of level but I-" Again he only half answered unable to properly keep up. "Praying? Um I'm not really sure about the concept of praying." Her fourth question had so many different components, man-boys and girl-women and man-ladies he was having a tough time keeping up. "What? I don't, um...Man-Lady? Man-Boy?" He asked as he shook his head softly.
The complexity of her last question left him to far in confusion to hear her next two questions but he did hear the seventh, something about following him around for collecting data? "Wait what? I don't take stragglers, I already had to take care of one little girl I can't take care of another, just stay inside the walls of one of the settlements and I'm....40% sure you'll be ok." He couldn't be much sure, she was such an eccentric girl that there was no telling what kind of trouble she could get into...Meaning if he was there he might be able to keep her out of some of that trouble...But who knows how much he was dragging himself into of the problems... "Um, well, I suppose if you don't have anywhere else to go then you can follow me until we get to the next settlement then we can go our separate ways." He was still to dazed from the bombardment of questions to fully think and rationalize what he was signing onto.
Just then a mumbling noise could be heard coming from one of the side pockets on his pack. Reaching over his shoulder Lloyd unzipped the pouch and grabbed a small dusty black portable radio, the static was eminent but a voice could faintly be made out. Pulling out the antenna and turning a nob a bit the voice came in more clearly. It was a familiar voice one he heard frequently on the stations, warning them about the threats of the mutants. Lloyd cursed lightly under his breathe he had let his time get away from him, he had planned to be on the move hours ago but had gotten side tracked with helping those kids. "Alright...Hm...Well 'Angel' it looks like we are not going anywhere Mutants one on one aren't an enormous problem but in swarms there is very little a duo can do against them." He leaned back a little as the music from the radio played after the broadcaster's message concluded. "...Hm...Alright we'll stay with the settlers here for the night and tomorrow THEN we can go out and you can do your...Thing..."

It had been a moderately slow day. There had been several spouts of gunfire, but the most recent he had not been able to locate. One could not really keep looking for too long. Loud noises quickly attracted the damned, nobody should hang around such a place. A gunshot rung out well in the ruined city, and worked like a Siren call for monsters.
So where had he gotten himself instead? Johnathan had parked his car in an alley, fitting snuggly between two buildings. The vehicle was a classic, well built and sturdy, deep red and in areas dirty and rusty enough to look like many of the broken cars on the streets. He was observing, waiting, and listening.
The car radio was on, but there was nothing except for white noise hissing out of the stereos. No, that was not what he was interested in hearing. Johnathan was waiting for The Voice of Survival. One aspect of humanity evident in this wasteland. The broadcaster could sound pretty immature in the way he presented himself usually, John felt, but he had not heard many other people speak recently. And if they did, it was some stupid remark or threat.
Suddenly, a very surprising scene unfolded on the open streets ahead.
Now, corpses were normal to find in the city these days, though most were eaten or otherwise in parts. You did not usually see what made it happen, though. Johnathan had never expected the following to be the cause.
Several infected were being attracted to the scene by increasingly closer sounding noises of battle. And each fell to the ground at the feet of a .. female figure that just walked into view. She was passing along the streets without worry, and tearing apart every monster ... brutally. Who was the true monster here..? And what was she? That was no human in any aspect.
Horns and everything... If Johnathan had not given up on faith, he'd instantly claim this to be a mythical demon of some sort. Instead, he went ahead and classed it as some freaking mutation of the infection. That happened in the movies anyway.
John closed his radio quickly and waited till the lady had passed and gone down the street. Then he opened up his radio, only to hear the beginning of the awaited recording. He started up his car, which rumbled quietly, and rolled out of the alley onto the main road. The vehicle trudged onwards steadily and carefully.
The demon lady he just witnessed disappearing into a building rather far down that same road.
The vigilante listened to the radio broadcast while the car inched down the street. There were surprisingly few infected folk jumping about now... guess that was the result of the ... lady's? Rampage.
The car slowed down to a complete halt when it was a bit closer to the building he was sure the monstrous female entered. The radio turned off. The engine died. Johnathan picked up a sawed off shotgun from the passenger seat and checked it was loaded before getting out. He closed the door gently and began to walk down the sidewalk.
His long priestly garment waved in the cool breeze while he held his weapon with both hands over his chest. He was ready to shoot whatever was moving. He quickened his pace till he came in front of the fortune teller's wee shoppe, and he could see inside from the street. The back of that monstrous lady was turned on him, and she seemed to be addressing someone else. Till that someone else, sprouted wings! Now, that clearly was an angel, but Johnathan was not ready to let his guard down or get religious. That just might be a very nice looking ... monster? Ok even that was a bit farfetched to him.
Nevertheless, that first one, was going down. Johnathan wasted no time and immediately lifted up his shotgun, pointed it with one hand at the doorway, on the other side of which was the open back of that demon. Then, BANG! The gun fired, the door got a massive new no-glass window, and if it hit, his target would be... pretty dead.

Prepared to fight the fallen angel Vira staggered slightly as shot tore into her back, causing her to bleed and mild irritation from pain. Irrate she turned to see a human standing behind the now nonexistant door that he had blown off its hinges and into her back and some peices sticking out her stomach.
What kind of human had the galls to attack her out of the blue? the mutants were one thing, but this being didnt seem to have a trace of the wravage virus. Her eyes narrowed as she advanced on him, leaving the angel to take out the common trash that was stepping in on their fun.
she advanced, taking his throat in her hand intent on popping his head from his shoulders when she found the motion impossible. her hand was burning up as she touched him and instead of simply letting go she threw him at the wall across the street as she looked to examine her Injury? boils spread from the web between her thumb and forefinger up to her fingers, pain emited from them and she looked back to the character, knowing only two things could actually hurt her like this, an angel or a human close to god, and this mans robes were unmistakable now that she began to take note. he was a religious figure that seemed to be uncorrupted. Snarling she advanced again as he recovered, intent on running him through with her spikes or burning him in the flames of hell before he could really do some damage to her.
------------------------
"lulu sounds like your kind of name" Lilika smiled and looked to the people staring, now getting a vibe before the voice came on the radio and she turned to watch for Tobias who had dissapeared among the people to get his supplies. the usual warning played over the radio. "just stay close to me for now lulu, the others might be antsy for a while, but they will learn your okay, and the monsters cant get us here so we are safe for tonight, the infected will probably seek shelter too so we will be safe till morning" she reassured Lulu and the others arround that could hear her. they had been staying in this bunker for about three months since everything became more routine than chaotic.

The imps met the affinity head on. Spears and tridents met each other on the battle field. The imps cast flames around the affinity, trying to burn those pretty little feathers and even things up a bit. The imps, like Nyxrin, were incapable of flight. Perhaps with age they too would grow wings. But in the mean time, 200 years of scraping with other, older, stronger demons had taught the imps to go for the wings every time. Get them crippled, and they were yours.
While her precious creations did what they did best, Nyxrin stood on the highest point of the roof, the chimney, facing Eli. "Spare your words. They won't save you now!" Nyxrin called. Prayers had no place in her world. Words for the damned while they walk through the gates. She had yet to see any benevolent force answer. While the angel preyed, Nyxrin eyed the spots of light that were forming around him. The sight of that light make her skin crawl. Holy no doubt, and hotter then hellfire.
The young demon conjured flames in her hands, which looped themselves into two flaming rings. "Hey angel boy! Catch!" Nyx called out, before hurling the wings at Eli, one at a time. There were about the diameter of basketballs, and acted like a boomerang. She waited there of the chimney, for the rings to return to her, hopefully smoking with holy blood.

Johnathan almost smiled as the shot was successful without flaw, leaving evident harm on the target. But what came next very much made him frown. A human, even a human turned monster, would die from their back tearing open and flown off. This lady... whatever she was.. Took the shot without a flinch, turned around as if unaffected, and came at him.
John brought up his gun for a second shot, hoping to get at the face, but the female grabbed his throat and his shotgun misfired, shooting into the pavement around their feet. He was thrown off, and landed against a hard wall with a cough and grunt.
The monster had inhuman strength, and it was going to make short work of him if he did not do something. With trembling hands, Johnathan had reloaded the shotgun and cocked it as quickly as he could after being thrown into a wall over the street. He aimed the gun high, hoping to get at the lady's head or chest - and fired. The shot echoed loudly in the open cityscape.

Kaya was busy trying to remember all the answers, filtering them through her head into different assortment of categories. She hadn’t realised that she was actually not receiving full answers. She was getting answers none the less. Her face was blank as she absorbed the information. It was all forgotten however when she heard the radio crackling and that the masses would be coming out tonight it seemed.
This would be a perfect chance to study! Wonderful! How fantastic! Maybe she could see a bit of that action they liked showing on the TV. With a punch there and a punch here, even a knock out might be possible! The little boys did so well on their games that they should be able to translate it to reality, surely! Maybe this man-boy here would have played on such a game and that’s how he managed to survive! Heaven had to invest in one of the gaming systems. It would help so much.
She nodded her head in agreement to the terms that she had not really listened to. There was so much she could learn! She was going to stick by him as much as possible! Find out all that was needed to know. “Thank you!” she said grabbing his hand quickly and shaking it hard. She had to make a good impression, she just had to. “This is a beautiful opportunity! How do you fight? Or are you the type that prefers the silent battle, watching it through the pouring rain as it trickles down your face? Or maybe you’re even the type that sneaks up like an assassin behind someone and silts their throat? Just like in that game … oh, erm what was it called? Maybe you’re like those characters where you take parts of the earth and carry it around with you! Or maybe you’re even on the run from someone, a super computer maybe!” she said, getting herself worked up with excitement.
“Oh I’m going to love working with you! Where do we start?” To Kaya, the mutants were an exciting object ready to be explored. There were so many possibilities running through her head of what they would be like.

As the Affinity were attacked they thrusted and swung their golden spears. A few of them had their wings torn or damaged by the pesky imps, however on the ground didn't mean defenseless. They continued to fight the imps on more level ground. However others remained air born, able to escape the grasps of the imps. The Affinity that roamed the air summoned bow like weapons, their spears vanishing as they pulled back the golden strings of their bows and unleashed glowing projectiles that somewhat resembled arrows.
With Eli's eye's covered he didn't see the rings of hellish fire hurdling towards him, but it didn't matter. The seven spots of light located on the ground around him activated. From each of them rose dozens of small balls of light that surrounded Eli's body, quickly the balls of light shifted in form turning into spike like projections, his power was given the nickname "The Nail" for a reason. The spike like projections shot out colliding with the rings they knocked them off course before retracting back to their position around Eli.
Eli's wings slowly returned to their former position close to his back. He looked towards the fire demoness, her lack of wings gave Eli the tactical advantage but he didn't want to use it now. He decided to go a bit more on the offensive with this next attack. Instead of allowing her to attack and him simply counter. He pointed towards her with one hand as spike after spike was fired at her, they shot through the air in slightly curved patterns, after one had made it's strike attempt it returned to it's position around Eli in the formed of a spiked wall.
Because her questions were a bit more...Lengthy it gave Lloyd time to take it in and actually give an answer to her next assault of questions. "How do I fight? Well with my sword, or a gun if I can find one...Though proper parts and ammunition makes that sometimes difficult, and I have no experience in jury rigging so I am not sure if I would be able to force one to work." When she asked if he fought in the rain, or if he was an assassin he laughed a little at her. "Like a game? What kind of games have you been playing?" He asked before continuing. "No I do not typically sneak up on people to slit their throats, but I do prefer sneak attacks. My brother...He would just charge right in...Granted he was quite a bit larger than me so he was much more intimidating." As she asked something about being on the run he raised an eyebrow. "No. The thing about this world is that people are typically not on the run from anyone...Except maybe mutants...But they are just trying to survive. We are not thriving like we did in the past we're a dying race that's clinging to threads for dear life." He sighed scratching the top of his head. "As for where we start." He walked behind her and began lightly pushing her towards the city. "We're going there, the two of us versus a swarm of mutants equals two more casualties in the world. A child could beat a single mutant but when they get in numbers they're a blasted army."

"This is a public service announcement, coming from your emergency broadcast system operator; The Voice of Survival. I'm holed up at the usual spot and from waaaay the hell up here it looks like the mutants are starting to get restless when the sun goes down and the blood moon rises.
"As you all probably figured out by now, whenever the muties get restless, things start going downhill really fast. For those of you just joining us in our fair city, let me break it down for you kids. No doubt you've encountered the mutants that roam the streets of our once great city. If you haven't, well count yourself lucky 'cuz you don't want to.
"Mutants are nocturnal creatures by nature, but they sometimes come out during the day so don't think you're safe just because you can see the sun. Now every month or so for those of you keeping track of the dates, for those of you who aren't it's when the moon gets really big in the sky, the muties get restless.
"When the muties get restless, barricade your doors and seal yourself up tight. Don't go outside at night kids, because the muties are out for blood, your blood, and mine, but don't worry, just play it safe and don't go out and you'll be fine. If you absolutely have to go outside for some reason, or you're trapped out there, do yourself a favor and get inside a reasonable structure quickly, being out in the open does nothing more than get you eaten. This has been a public service announcement from your friend The Voice of Survival. Now, as per the usual alert message, we've got some music to start you off by my good friend Michael. No not that one, the other one. You know the guy. Here's Fire Fire, by David Michael Bennet, warning you, to keep safe."
A sigh issued from the tired traveler known as Gail Howard. "And here I was beginning to think I could rest a while..." He had only just arrived in the city and already he was going to have a rough night. It wasn't like he hadn't already had a rough time during his travels, but still. Was it too much to ask for a break once in a while? Apparently, to some sort of deity, it was too much to ask for. At least in Gail's opinion. He shook his head and looked down at his traveling companion, a small white fox who was already curled up into a fuzzy ball near the small fire Gail had going right now. "Well, Fluffy. Looks like its gonna be another one of those long nights." He said aloud. Ever since the fox started following him around, Gail had picked up the habit of talking to him, regardless of the fact that he knew the fox couldn't respond verbally. In some ways, it was good to have someone to talk to. But other times, it just might make him look like he was crazy to other people. Then again, Gail hadn't necessarily run into too many people these days either.
"I hate to do this to 'ya, Fluff-ball..." Gail stated, pushing himself to his feet. The noise caused the fox's ears to p***k up and the ball of fur turned its eyes to look up at Gail with a somewhat pleading look, which Gail did his very best to ignore even though he felt the same way as the fox did about getting moving again. "But we gotta get to some high ground before the muties start gravitating toward us." The red head started kicking dirt onto the fire to put it out as he didn't want to waste any of his water on putting out the fire. Who knew if there was any running water in this city anyway? Fluffy was instantly on his feet, baring his teeth and giving a small growl of displeasure at Gail's decision to put out the fire. Before Fluffy could do much more in the way of objecting, Gail reached out to pick up the fox. Instead, Fluffy growled again and swiped a paw at the hands reaching for him, leaving a scratch mark. Gail frowned. "Hey! What's your problem, Fluff? Don't you growl at me."
With a somewhat practiced grab, Gail picked up Fluffy by the scruff of the fox's neck and held the creature up so he could look Fluffy in the face. Even though Fluffy was desperately trying to scratch him again. "Sorry, buddy, but this is for your own good." He scolded before lifting up his backpack, placing the struggling fox pup into it, and then zipping it up around the creature's head so Fluffy wouldn't be able to wiggle his way out. "Trust me. You'll thank me later." Gail muttered before swinging the backpack onto his shoulder and heading for the door.

Zera wasn't one to step down from a fight, but the angel seemed to have forgotten about her, as well as the younger demon. She had no love for either side, so she didn't see the point in stepping in to help the demon, nor stepping in to attack the angel. Scoffing lightly, Zera backed away from the fight and jumped off the building, flapping her wings to land softly on the ground. She could hear the fight raging up on top of the building still, so she decided to make herself scarce, heading down the road humming quietly and looking for anything that seemed interesting. She caught a scent of something, smelled like fresh human, and uninfected or mutated. "Fun" Zera thought as she headed for the source. She folded her wings up and shifted her appearance to those looking at her to be more like a human, with no horns or wings or claws. She caught a glimpse of the human she was looking for around the corner, exiting a building carefully. Smirking and backing up a ways she went around the building and waited. As he came down the road she stumbled out from the corner and fell to the ground right in front of him. Her brown hair falling over her face and blocking it, she smirked and thought to herself, "Go ahead, take the bait, hook line and sinker..."
======
Lulu froze as she heard the voice on the radio. She was frightened of these "mutants" the man spoke of and wondered if they would be safe where they were. Her mind raced at the possibilities that they might be attacked and overrun. But when Lilika said they would be safe, she calmed down almost immediately. Like a child, she believed whatever this woman told her. If Lilika told it to her, it had to be the truth. She clung to the woman like a scared little girl, but she didn't see anything wrong with it, she had clearly been traumatized in some way, and wasn't exactly intact mentally.

Just to be sure it was safe outside, Gail peeked his head out through the door to check. His left hand was on the gun holstered at his hip just in case. When he was sure there was nothing outside that planned to kill him, at least not right as soon as he stepped outside, Gail let out an inaudible sigh before heading out into the darkening streets. He had to keep his wits about him and pay attention. That could mean life or death in this day and age. Before rounding any corner, Gail was sure to peek around it before going any further. It was going to be slow going from this, but it was better safe than sorry, right?
He hadn't made it very far around another corner when someone else came around the next corner into an alley, tripping and falling over their own feet. Since it happened so suddenly, Gail wasn't entirely prepared for it. So he took a half step back in surprise. But his surprise vanished and became an expression of concern when he noticed that the person that fell was a woman. "H-Hey! Are you alright?" Gail asked, anxious to see if this woman was okay, or could at the very least talk. He began to kneel down to check on her, reaching out with one hand to touch her shoulder. He could feel Fluffy wriggling in his backpack and soon he felt the fox's muzzle right next to his cheek, supposedly getting a look at this stranger. Gail blinked when he heard a low growl escape the fox again. He didn't know what it could be except that the fox was still mad at him for being stuffed into the bag. Ignoring the growling fox for the moment, Gail kept his attention on the fallen woman. "Do you need help? There are a lot of mutants running around now..."

Zera smiled as the boy took the bait; he would probably believe anything she said at this point. She tried to get up, her smile now gone, and collapsed again, looking up at the boy. "Y-you're not one of them are you? Those crazy people... th-they... they came after me with guns... I managed to run but... I don't know how much further I can go..." Zera struggled to get to her feet and panted, wobbling slightly; as always, her acting was perfect. Her eyes were no longer their hellish red color around yellow eyes, they now looked more like normal eyes, colored dark brown. Zera looked around frantically, "T-there aren't any more around here... we need to get moving... the mutants will be out soon..." Zera knew that the boy would buy her story, there was no time for questioning and guessing if she was being followed by a mob of crazies and mutants were about to come out in force.

Gail watched in concern as the woman tried to stand on her own. He could still hear Fluffy growling from over his shoulder. Damn fox should learn when to keep quiet... Or maybe he was trying to tell Gail something? Whatever. The main thing that was on Gail's mind right now was getting both this woman and himself to safety. "Of course I'm not 'one of them'. What makes you think I would be?" Gail asked her, trying to make light of her situation. "Besides, I have no idea who these people are that you're talking about." He chuckled as he bent over to help the woman stand on her own two feet.
Once she appeared to be standing without falling over, Gail began asking questions. He needed to know what exactly he was getting himself into by saving this woman. "That is exactly what I said. We need to get moving. Mutants and zombies will be out and about soon. My buddy Fluffy and I were just on our way to some high ground if you'd care to join us then." he stated holding out his hand to her for her to take to steady herself as they walked.

If Zera weren't playing the part of damsel in distress she would have scoffed and said a few choice words about the boy's intelligence. But sadly, she was, and she had to keep her thoughts to herself. Looking around rapidly for any sign of "Them" and then said, "They're infected. People infected by this weird virus, makes them go crazy and act like lunatics. Killing, raping, pillaging, they're basically insane bandits. We need to get out of here now, they'll be following me soon." Zera looked down at his hand and up to the boy's face, noticing the fox on his shoulder that was growling at her. Hesitantly taking his hand, Zera said, "I don't think your friend likes me too much..." Despite her opinions on the boy's intelligence, Zera would admit that finding high ground or shelter would be the best option for them both. Zera could probably survive the mutants attacking her, but it was always a pain to fight them. Zera spoke up a little and said to Gail, "I think I know a place not far from here, it should be safe and high enough to keep the mutants away from us..." Zera turned and pointed at one of the few still standing skyscrapers a few blocks away, a hotel by the looks of it, the top few floors that could be seen over the buildings looked to be perfectly intact. Unbeknownst to Gail, this was actually Zera's home; the place she used as a base of sorts, the penthouse server her needs quite well, she had even managed to get the plumbing working again.

"Oh Yeah...Almost forgot about those guys." Gail replied when he heard the woman's answer to his question. He rubbed the back of his neck and gave an embarrassed laugh. Of course, he did remember them, he just needed someone to jog his memory every once in a while. Gail blinked when the woman commented on the fact that Fluffy was growling at her. "Huh? Oh. He's just wary of strangers that's all." Gail replied, roughly rubbing Fluffy's head, which sort of got the fox to pause in his growling. If Fluffy could talk, he'd probably say something along the lines of: Gail you idiot! Unfortunately for Fluffy, Gail paid the fox no mind. "Don't worry about him. He's harmless." Gail added with a smile. "Then let's get going. I'd rather live to see my next birthday than get my face eaten off today." Gail joked as he and the woman started off quickly in the direction of the skyscraper she had pointed out. He made sure one hand was on his sidearm pistol which was holstered at his waist as they went. 'Can't risk being caught off guard. If this lady really is being specifically chased, I should probably be prepared to use this thing.'
