Five hours later, it's finally done! But I have to wait to play it so that I can download the boyfriend's DLC.crying
I saw it...I wasn't too happy, but it is an improvement at least.

So, boyfriend started downloading Dawnguard and the Extended Cut. Dawnguard offers hours more content, but is 1/4 to 1/3 the size of the Extended Cut. Downloading so much faster as a result, but I probably won't be able to play it until tomorrow due to how long it's going to take to download onto the boyfriend's hard drive.
I'm downloading the Extended Cut. I'm definitely curious to see this. But I'm gonna have to wait until Saturday to play, since I'm gonna be outside the country. gonk

Watched the synthesis ending, it was all right but largely mediocre.
I picked the Destroy ending. I REALLY liked the new changes they implemented. Not too deviating, but almost exactly what I wanted to see when I first played through the ending.
Note that the very first change that I personally noticed wasn't until
the run to Beam. The scene where they explain how your Earth teammates ended up on the Normandy. If you bring your LI with you, it's damn fantastic. Seriously, Garrus baby, I love you, too. crying I didn't need that "final" closure goodbye, but if my fiance hadn't been in the room, I would have given the worst fangirl noise I would ever make in my entire life. (Makes me wonder if I have any later saves on my other playthroughs so I don't have to waste two hours to get to that point - on Narrative difficulty.)
For one, they fixed the LI flashback scene, so I got to see my Garrus. I'm not sure if it's fully fixed for the other LIs... but I have heard some people have seen Thane as one of the three people in the flashback. Besides Garrus and Anderson, I got EDI. Which made me go gonk because I had picked the destroy option and StarChild insisted that all Synthetics were going to be destroyed. Like, stuck a pin in it and made it final so I couldn't jostle around the idea that maybe it really only destroys the Reapers because of a coding thing.
For two, I got to make the StarChild EXPLAIN s**t to me. Yay for more dialogue wheel! I learned more of where this thing came from even though more of the "you wouldn't understand" logic got tossed at me a bit. And I got to consider each option as he presented them to me.
For three, I got to see Kaidan telling Joker to follow Anderson's command. They needed to get out of there. Granted, this made it so instead of freaking out and high-tailing it out of there with flaily arms, Joker was much more reserved and downcast while he was abandoning Shepard. I was hoping to see EDI "die" here because of the choice I made, but... that kind of comes later.
For four, I got to see asari on Thessia and krogan on Tuchanka raising their arms in victory while Reapers fall down dead. VICTORY! I may not have expected a "happy" ending, but THIS was exciting for me. YAY, WE DID IT! My choice saved all these people, and I smiled knowing that Shepard was a hero. That was a good enough ending for me.
Yes, the Normandy still landed on the planet, and that scene was exactly the same.
But wait! There's STILL more!
Now Hackett tells me all about the stuff that got messed up but we can still rebuild. The Reapers are gone. BABY KROGAN OMG! Got to see pictures of some of my teammates not on the Normandy. Yay they're alive and doing stuff!
And then! I get to see EDI's name on the Memorial Wall. YES! I mean, aw... she's dead. But I smiled with a twisted glee that they acknowledged it. I do love EDI, I promise. Just as much as I like the Geth, but I was still curious to see them die. And more Garrus LI acknowledgement as he's about to put Shepard's name on the Memorial Wall, but he doesn't...
Because finally, I get to see the Shepard breathing scene.
Oh, and the Normandy flies away before it cuts to that last scene. They isn't stuck!
