Kaori looked down at the plate and then back to Austin. She had so many questions and far too few answers. Despite all the questions in her head, Austin was right, she was really hungry. Besides, now wasn't the right time to ask them. Maybe not ever. Maybe I misjudged him...
She looked down at the plate again. "What about you? half a plate isn't enough for a big cowboy like you. I don't need this much food anyways. Here" She scooped half of the wings back into his bowl then picked her plate up and put it in her lap.

"This is just my mid-flight snack," Austin replied, dumping some of the wings back on her plate. "Besides, you heard Nixie. We're having dinner at a swank restaurant after we land. We'll get plenty to eat there. Now, if you can keep from pocketing the flatware, Sticky Fingers, I have to go relieve the auto pilot." He turned before she could protest and went back to the cockpit, munching on a wing and humming as he did.

She opened her mouth but "Hey..." was all she got out. He had already closed the cockpit door by the time she was able to even get that much out. She looked down at the chicken wings as if it was their fault. What have I gotten myself into...? She sighed and put the plate down on the table. Her stomach growled in protest but she stood up anyways. She walked over to the window and looked outside. Everything she knew was so far away now. Her stomach was starting to hurt but she couldn't take her eyes off the window and the world flying by below. She put her good paw out and touched the window.

Nixie inhaled sharply and turned away from something.
"I didn't..." she mumbled. "I can't...you know why...No...NO!" She jerked awake with a scream. It took her a moment to realize where she was and catch her breath. She covered her face with her hands to try to regain her composure. That old nightmare haunted her even after Sovenn's death. She took one last deep breath and looked up, her face as calm and cool as ever. She looked over at Kaori. "Apologies if I startled you. And it looks like you bested Austin after all."

Her gaze shifted slightly as she listened to Nixie. Her paw fell from the window to her side and she turned and smiled. She walked back over slowly and sat down. She shook her head slightly, still smiling "No..." She pulled her sleeve back and looked at the arm he had bandaged. It was still pretty swollen and painful but it wasn't so bad anymore. "He definitely won."
Her stomach growled again and she sighed. She wasn't sure why this was so different. She was used to accepting charity, especially when it came to food. But this was his food. She sat there in thought for a while, staring through Nixie at nothing. She shook her head suddenly and looked over at the wings. Her ears were twitching wildly. Could it really be that simple? either way... She reached out and picked up one of the wings. She pulled it apart, putting the pieces back down on the plate in different piles. She busied herself with this new line of work.

"Well, I can tell he's going to be expecting steak tonight," Nixie mused. She stretched and popped her shoulders. "Honestly, it's like feeding a one man army. I've never seen a single person inhale so much beef in one sitting." "Ladies and ladies, we've been cleared to land at Zurich International Airpot," Austin's voice came over the speakers. "We'll be touching down in twenty minutes. Please sit down and hold on tight, as this is only my send time on a Swiss tarmac."

"Hm" Was the only response Nixie got this time. Kaori was rather pre-occupied with creating a pile of meat out of the chicken wings that lay on the nearby table. Her ears twitched when she heard Austin over the speakers and she stopped what she was doing.
She looked down at the pile of meat that she had meticulously lined up and stacked. Then, she looked at her fingers which were in need of washing. She gave a quick glance over at Nixie and looked back to her pile of meat feeling rather sheepish.

Nixie had been a willing to politely ignore Kaori's pile of uneaten chicken, but the girl seemed embarrassed to the point of guilt over the mess she had made. "Does the buffalo sauce not agree with you either?" She asked gently. "Austin does have a strange sense of taste. Last a week he tried to convince me to east some of his hickory BBQ short rib chilli, but my I nose was burning from all the capsaicin jest from being in the same kitchen. He called me a tender foot and I made him eat a tablespoon of wasabi." She chuckled at the memory.

Kaori wasn't quite sure what to do next. She didn't want to eat in front of Nixie, not to mention she didn't want to eat that specific food given the circumstances that it was given under.
"No... it's not that." She stood up "is there a bathroom in here?"

"The lavatory is right through there," Nixie replied, pointing. "And I have some candied ginger in the kitchen if your stomach is bothering you." She hoped her guest was alright. She hated prying, but what if Kaori needed a doctor? Or anything else, for that matter. The girl hadn't brought an overnight bag. Maybe Nixie should take advantage of their time in Zurich's airport to book her a flight home.

"No... I'm fine. I just want to clean up a bit." Kaori walked in the direction of Nixie's pointing finger. She stopped at the door and thought about how to open the door with messy fingers. After a second she just grabbed the handle with her good paw and walked inside closing the door behind her. The water ran for a little while and Kaori emerged again with wet paws and a small towel.

"Better sit down," Nixie called as soon as Kaori was out of the lavatory. The plane dipped down and the exterior noise increased. After a few moments, they bumped on the landing strip and roared to a stop. A taxi came to tow the plane into a private hanger. "Ladies and ladies, we have landed safely in Zurich International. Thank you for flying Cowboy Airlines, and have a nice day," Austin announced. He came back from the cockpit and winked. "Another perfect landing." "At least we all survived and no geese were decapitated this time," Nixie replied, only half teasing. "Lets go. I want to get to the chalette as soon as possible."

Kaori's ears perked up at the sound of the inter-com and hurried to her seat. She stared out the window trying to figure out her new surroundings.
She raised her eyebrows at the remark from Nixie and waited to follow her off the plane.

Nixie turned to Kaori. "Would you like me to book you a flight?" she asked gently. "You don't have to stay here or tag along with me if you don't want to. I can understand how all of this can be overwhelming. I appreciate your help getting rid of the tail back there, but don't feel like you have to come with me. It might be safer for you to just back off now and find a quite place to lay low for a while."
