In ME2, on Horizon, it always bugged me. How did Ash/Kaidan escape Collector stasis?

Jaiden` I've got one: In ME2, on Horizon, it always bugged me. How did Ash/Kaidan escape Collector stasis? I'm guessing the ship has to be nearby for the stasis to hold so when you make it retreat the signal is lost and colonists still on the gournd who haven't been rounded up are freed. That or Harbinger was delibertly letting your old squadmate stay to mentally break Shepards mental state down another peg due to how they reacted to your current position.

Traynor did say she was on Horizon when the Collectors hit. [I looked for her the last time I played ME2 but alas to my great disappointment, I couldn't find her among the frozen colonists...XD]

johnel lance I've thought of more things. Why does Kai Leng get turned into a poor man's Zero? Why is there so few real boss fights in this game? Why can't I have Urz as a pet? What was Jack thinking with that hair? Why is Kai Leng supposed to be a threat if the main accomplishments I know him for are epic toothbrush kill and getting beat up by a dieing Drell? I'm starting to realize that bioware is very,very,very lazy.

Regarding Kai Leng - He's an author insert Gary Stu who is simply poorly conceived. Poorly conceived I can give you but as someone that has gone completely insane and runs a blog for riffing on fanfiction I don't think he perfectly meets the criteria for a insert Stu though it is close at times. See based on the criteria for a true Stu the fight with Thane most likely should have been more one sided in Kai Leng's favor instead of Thane kicking his a** for a good chunk of the fight. You see what I have a thesis that Kai Leng was a modern western attempt at the mirror counterpart character. He was to be the Shadow to Shepard's Sonic or the Bass to Shepard's Megaman. For you see Kai Leng was also a highly trained N7 operative that was reconstructed by Cerberus that also has ties to Anderson in the past. The problem is that he has an established history that doesn't involve Shepard (I know Shadow also has a past but in the project he was introduced they set up the dynamic with Sonic instead of a few novels of just him before Adventure 2) so the audience that knew him from before doesn't really get the same vibe that a good doppleganger gives. Also the feeling of author insert could more be you picking up on this effect. For you see Shepard is a character you create. Though I'm not saying Shepard is one hundred percent you I find most people do put at least a bit of themselves into their first Shepard. So in away if Kai Leng is a doppleganger to Shepard who is a little bit of you it could be that the game made you feel like the creators were your own dark doppleganger. Of course this is all just theory and speculation but it is food for thought.

Maybe he's not a self insert but he is a Gary Stu, he reminded me instantly of Drift from the IDW Transformers run (Drift got better, thankfully, Leng did not XD) and I personally find him a very lazy bit of writing. Saying that I found most of ME3 to be lazy writing so ... XD

Saying that I found most of ME3 to be lazy writing so ... XD That's cool to each their own. Though you just reminded me I have to go back and play more Fall of Cybertron.

At the start of the Kai Leng vs Thane battle, Thane had his pistol to Kai Leng's head. Why didn't Thane just shoot the b*****d then and there instead of just standing there?
(My knowledge is a mite fuzzy, I try to forget about how BW treated and wrote Thane in ME3. crying )

Someone forgot to hit the Renegade interupt.
Okay joking aside I really don't know but could be Kai Leng had good enough shields that the single shot wouldn't kill him? No wait it seems point blank headshots do bypass shields in story so I've got nothing right now.
On that note why the hell was Saren's pistol so loud on Eden Prime?
P.S. Love the Pokemon Colosseum sprites in your sig. heart

Love the Pokemon Colosseum sprites in your sig. heart Bleh, the whole Thane vs KL fight, while it looked cool, just didn't really make much sense, considering KL was an assassin in a lot better health than Thane, who was in the final stages of Kepral's. But as I said, I'm pissed with how BW handled Thane in ME3. Thane was one of my favourite ME2 characters, and the LI of my Shepard, so there's a lot of bias there. Hee, thank you. I'm glad to find another Colosseum fan. I;m very happy with how the sprites turned out. I wish I was as good as the spriters who did them are.
