Lillum smiled kindly, eyes glancing from the ground to him and the ground again, not blushing, but it was threatening to...
"You know--just because I like to brawl and take down thieves and miscrients does not make me a barbarian. I like girly things too," she nodded, continuing at his pace.{{ Better jsut quote me here XD Sorry for the late replies, been busy with the metaplot ^^ }}

Haruo laughed as he looked at her. "Hey now, I did not call you a barbarian and I don't think I could think of you as such. I merely meant that you weren't smiling nearly this much at the tavern." He tilted his head to look at her more closely. "Are you always this defensive?"

Lillum was unable to look directly at him for a moment.
"You know I do not have close friends, only one other met my father and---well, lets not go there!" she chirped the last part, voice raised until it could only squeak at the last syllable.
Her wings flitted, smiling, she picked up the pace again, her legs pumping and breathing growing harder.

Haruo paused and stopped his steps a bit confused by her statement. "No I didn't know... are you all right Lillium?" He sighed as he had to jog to catch up with her. "Lillium slow down, what's the rush?"

Lillum was able to relax against the wind which was pushing her as if asking her to listen.
"No, I don't have many friends, so few go to the mountains from town I had no one to be friends with but the winds."
Lillum let him catch up with her again. They were approaching the final length of the road up to the lodge, its yellow roof could be seen from the bottom of the hill they were climbing.

Haruo looked at her and frowned slightly. "That is unfortunate, but I do hope that you will count me among your friends though." He looked down at the lodge as they reached the crest of the hill. He was grateful to see it, he was getting hungry again.

Lillum was glad to be home, the great hall doors were open letting the wind come through, the normally lit fires not yet up for the night. She was glad to have a friend, but was not sure he would stay after meeting her father.
"You promise you will not hate me after you meet him?" she questioned, brow raised in suspicion as she entered, sitting at the bar closest tot he kitchen.

Haruo looked around the building marveling at the interior. He followed her to the bar. When she spoke he looked at her, "I wouldn't hate you for something your father said or did.

Lillum thought to herself unless he maims you... She scoffed, enjoying the night which was sure to come soon.
A maid walked out with one big bowl and a bit of dirt on her nose, hooves clunking loud on the wood floors.
"Would you bring my dinner here? I have someone to meet Father," she looked up from her work, staring at the male behind Lillum with a bit of weary expression.
"Just do it Hilde!" Lillum squeaked, her voice high again. She sighed, arms heavy resting on the table.

Haruo watched as the maid looked up at him and waved politely. He followed Lillium to the table. "Did the walk here take a lot out of you Miss Lillium? You seem out of sorts, maybe you should sit." The more they spoke about meeting her father the more stressed she seemed to become. It wasn't good for any mearh to be so high-strung.

Lillum was all but able to smile at him, her eyes flickering with their color in pools as her gaze shifted over the tavern. She saw no signs of him...
The girl known as Hilde came back, two plates of wood set before the travelers, their own breathing was the only noise in the place.
"Miss---" Hilde spoke gently,"--I am afraid the Lord Lucious has gone for the month, he is on a mission to the southern border." Hilde quickly took leave of them, she was not even staying to make sure Lillum heard her, but she was tired, and obviously lacking rest.
"I am quite alright Haru--oh..." she looked down at the plates, surprised to see her favorite dinner before her. She felt a little knot in her stomach, it was the kindness of her maid she had recently injested and it gave her stomach a turn. Or rather; her own actions had turned it upside down.
Shaking her head, Lillum was able to look at her friend again.
"Seems we will be alone tonight," she spoke calmly, she was an adult, but rather--well taken care of, by her father and other adults of the shrine. She looked forward to seeing the old empty temple on the morrow...It would be best if they slept the night and resumed the journey in the morning. She was thinking the whole time, her face twisted in thought as she munched on the carrots and spinach leaves set before them.

Haruo watched Lillium's face while they waited. She was so on edge it seemed that she didn't hear the maid at first. He was still rather shocked about the tone she had taken with the maid but it wasn't his place to say anything. "It seems so... but I wouldn't mind a good rest before we visit the temple.

Lillum had been eating the whole time, her mouth too full to speak to either Hilde or Haruo
"There is a few beds upstairs near open fires, feel free to find one and sleep on it, its open house here." she said, stretching as she stood from the table to leave. She intended to stay in her old room, the tower room, since her father was gone for the remainder of the month.
"Let me know if you need anything and there is a cook down here at all times, so just ask if you get hungry later," she spoke, flitting her wings as she got to the end of the stairwell.

Haruo nodded still slowly eating. "Thank you, I shall see you in the morning. Pleasant dreams." He watched her head towards the stairs and turned his gaze back to his plate. It was probably a good thing he would be going to the temple. He needed to figure out what to do with himself. When he had finished his food he stood and explored the ground floor of the lodge first. The building had been expertly built, sturdy and beautiful. After a while he made his way up the stairs to one of the beds and laid there. He did not immediately go to sleep but instead stared at the ceiling. I want to do something important with my life, but what?

Lillum had already fallen asleep by the time the fires were out, her dreams heavy with worry over the day and those to come. She had a burden--to marry and continue his line of knights, to protect the Lodge against those who would harm travelers and their kin...
The morning rose up as it had done for a millenia, its colors as vibrant as ever and its rays sneaking silently into the room of the sleeping gwilith...
"uuugh..." Lillum groaned, her head aching with the superb lighting, it glistened from mountaintops even in summer and blinded her for a few seconds. She blinked, letting out a sigh and silent nod that she was awake.
She descended the third floor stares to look for her partner in crime, seeing if he was up and ready for the day's journey.
