A rather ruffled crane slowly stumbled his way to the area Kojin was in, he obviously just got out of a skirmish with something, something that used fire, if the singed feathers were any indication to anything. It also seemed to be very focused as it quickly skimmed past Kojin and went to a small watering hole nearby.

Kojin almost lost his notebook, since he didn't put it away at the sudden crane shooting past him. A chance he's not going to squander as he slipped it into a secure spot before attempting his best to stealthily dash his way through the treetops in order to pursue the crane. This watering hole was further south, but in a small stream that branched off from the river itself and thus landed him a but more west than the river itself.
The watering hole wasn't clogged up, but to say it was easy to spot would be a mistake as he landed himself over looking it, trying to get a better look at the crane that flew by as he saw the feathers certainly. He didn't want to startle the crane either. It'd been a while however, and some of the others may have already achieved this.
Reluctantly, he quickly jumped down, or, more dropped down as he scanned for anything other than the crane itself, perhaps the sound of what might have done this... "Hello there." was what he mustered to say, hoping not to immediately frighten the bird away.

"Oh no, not another one of you lot!" The battered crane called out before he attempted to extend his wings to get some sort of lift off but his burned and singed feathers kept him grounded. To make matters worse, upon closer examination it would be easy to notice that his right leg was trembling as if it was injured in some way. What had happened to this bird?

"Eeerm, Another one? this is the first, well, maybe second time i've seen one of you." He was a little taken aback by its ability to speak, but best to take it in stride for now. "I'm a medical nin, i can help you in more ways than one if you let me, If being a Genin from the Uzumaki clan counts as a savior, since my mission is to rescue your kind that i find." he gave, holding his hands up and flat, well, his one hand, as his other still had the naginata in it. "I'm also incapable of using Fire jutsu." he stated softly as he simply stood in place, making no attempt to chase the crane.
After a few moments, he did however slide his other hand into his pocket as he took a relaxed glance, but he frowned at the notion of how injured the crane must actually be, to be grounded as a bird is a bad sign, but the hollow bones of avians made easy targets for all sorts of breakage. The loss of feathers to allow flight also presents a problem, which he can't help. Kojin was in tune with his mission, but his current thoughts went defensive as he paid less attention to the bird and more attempted to use his senses to be wary of hidden assailants.

"It was another of your clan that did this to me!" The crane seemed fairly on edge, though he knew enough to know that Kojin was not the one that hurt him. "If you are meant to protect me then what do you think you can do to save me from these vicious clansmen of yours!?"

Kojin thoughtfully looked for a moment, before he frowned more deeply than usual, setting the spiked tip of the bottom of the naginata's haft into the dirt, "Given that i am to return you to the village for the preservation of your species, either another Genin has injured you in an attempt to forcefully capture you, and is disqualified from advancing in the trials, or there is someone else out here for a far different purpose. If need be? i'd fight with my life. This island is your home as much as it is mine isn't it? My siblings are out here with me, looking for others of you to take back for the same reason. I don't know whether, or how many have succeeded. There are ten of us however" he took a pause as he again lifted his naginata and leaned it on his shoulder as he stepped forward.
"If someone is hunting you, as opposed to an awry genin that will fail his trial should you be able to describe him, then we need to get out of here. As for what i can do? i did say i was a ninja. Genin as i am, i am quite determined to see you to safety with any family you might have left on the island. As one shouldn't say they're a ninja without the nerve to back it up with their life." he gave again as he spoke with quite a hint of pride, his hand still in his pocket as he wasn't going to do much more until the crane was to 'accept' his help in the matter, as it seemed smart enough to know what it wanted and given the nature of the mission, force wasn't the way to go.

Kojin gave a quiet nod as he stepped forward and knelt down, to not give the impression that he was in control, at least as he offered his arm to the crane, to allow them to engage in the lift, "I intend to do more than run, given your condition. I'd rather not risk treating you here if you're being chased" he gave quietly as he waited for the crane, however, he did leave his naginata standing for a moment as he summoned a quick water clone, nodding to him.
"I'll do my best if allowed once reaching the village, but the more skilled medic-nin will likely rush to your aid." he gave as his clone leaped into the trees heading towards the village, an early warning system should anyone 'really' be tracking the crane who might attempt to intercept him, and to let the village know ahead of the time he gets there, as he should be keeping pace once he has the crane safe and comfortable.

The crane spoke no more, he simply climbed up onto Kojin's shoulders as to be out of the way while the boy would be running back to wherever he was going.

Kojin securely placed his arm around the crane with a smile as he stood up, and surged his chakra delicately through his legs from the standpoint of medical concern, time was definitely of the essence. With that, he leaped and jumped as he shot through the trees as cautiously fast as he could while both aided by chakra and keeping the crane safe and un-jarred as possible. He curved in the loop he used to get down here, remembering some of the tricks he learned to evade persuers. It would make the trip longer but possibly avoid anyone attempting the crane harm.
Through the trees he goes while coming up to the psuedo-swamp area, continuing to use his chakra to enhance his reflexes and speed ever so slightly as he learned at the Uzumaki academy. "Did you get a good look at whomever attacked you other than a human or an Uzumaki nin?" he asked the crane.

As soon as the crane found himself in the firm place Kojin would feel the bird's head slump down, over the boys chest. He was fully asleep from his recent battles.

Kojin kept quiet when no answer came, best to just get back as he leaped and jumped, past the swamp, now in a curving bee-line to the village. He would even likely attempt medical ninjutsu if doing so while moving so much wasn't a bad idea.

With swiftness and eventuality, Kojin himself arrived at the village, behind his clone whom had hopefully garnered some attention, and some medical attention for the 'patient' being the crane. Nobody but himself to talk to as he hurried inside the trial building to hand the crane off to Masoto or any other adult willing to take the bird to a more experienced medical nin or one on the spot that had been called. His clone would release after having accomplished something as such.

Tamaki gave a relieved sigh, and let out a chuckle. "Well, I don't think they are going to pose any threats. But, on the flipside, there are people out there who will, so lets just keep going so we can get to the village before someone stops us."
Tamaki gave a gesture for the crane to keep following him, then took off towards the village at top seed. Surely the crane could keep up with him. It was a ninja animal, so it was far superior than most creatures. Besides that, these species of crane were stil relatively fast, and could still fly short distances. Tamaki sped along the beach at top speed, hoping that the bird was keeping up with him.

The warm sand shifted beneath Tamaki as he skirted along the beach at top speed. He occasionally looked behind him to make sure the strange bird was keeping up. Sure enough, it showed no problem keeping in step with Tamaki as they both raced towards the starting area for the exams.
Within a few minutes, they had gotten to the village compound where Tamaki had been instructed to bring the crane back. A small grin crossed his face as he had finished his task. As he brought the bird into the building Tamaki looked back towards the bird. "Well, it was nice meeting you. Stay safe, and I hope you find a lucky girl, and make lots of tiny little cranes just like you." Tamaki said in a giddy-sounding voice.
Although he had said it in an almost funny tone, Tamaki did want the species of bird to survive. Almost everyone in the Uzumaki clan did their very most to take care of the island. Surprisingly, the village, and the surrounding areas were very clean. Scrap metal and things of that nature had constantly been cleaned up and recycled into other parts and weapons. Besides that, trash was a rare problem, as everyone did their part to clean up.
Tamaki presented the crane to the jounin at the staging area, and gave a slight bow. "What's next sir?" Asked Tamaki in an anxious voice.
