Shina's eyes searched the sky, but she couldn't make out any of the race anymore. The competitors were too far away.

Catherine stayed right on the tail of the Pidgeot chasing the Pidgey. The larger bird was doing a wonderful job of splitting the wind for the Chatot.

The wind decided to toy with them and gave the pidgey an edge once more. It was then that Cara saw the other racer 'drafting' them. "hmmm...Pidgeot, climb, let's lose these guys." Pidgeot did as told and Cara held on tight as the Pidgeot suddenly started a steep climb, all the while keeping an eye on Pidgey.

Catherine spotted the Zubat below. Giving up on following the Pidgey and Pidgeot, she dropped down to try to catch the bat.

They leveled out and flew above the Pidgey. Soaring over it like a bird of prey does their next meal. "Great work Pidgeot."

Catherine did her best to stay on the tail of the Zubat. It stayed in the clouds, using the mist and confusing air currents to try to escape.
((We seem to be the last two in this. If I catch the pidgey, I'd be happy to trade you the pidgey for the zubat!))

The pidgey apparently became aware that it was being stalked and took a nosedive into a cloud bank. Cara muttered something inaudible and the two once again took off after the smaller bird.

The Pidgey was still faster than Cara had ever anticipated. She wasn't deterred by this, rather she became more determined to catch that Pidgey, or even the Zubat considering it hadn't even been caught yet either.

This race was beginning to get a little tiring. She knew that if she was getting tired, the two prize pokemon had to be getting tired too, or at least they should be.

Zubat wheeled to the side, and Catherine almost caught up before the Zubat slipped away again.
