But, for how long?" he got off of Esperanza and gently helped Elpis down "There's the cave where we first found you.... When I followed the trail of footsteps and blood..." Argen was scared, scared at the beast they were going to face. But, whenever he was scared, he would picture his dear frind, Juliana, in his mind. Somehow, seeing her gave him courage "I'm glad she didn't come with us... if anything happened to her, I'd never forgive myself... It's best if we keep this a secret from her...." These humans sure were strange, they were doing whatever it takes to help a stranger out. They're just too kind. When asked where she was attacked, she pointed to the forest that was nearby the beach area. {Out of Faith:} ♫ Through the glass you see the same faces

Romero glared at the impudent state who dared obstruct his path instead of show the good sense to run. And how dare she suggest that he, a seasoned veteran of many wars against empires, had brought his sword merely to make sushi? Before he could chastise her her defiance, however, a horrific roar tore through the cave, its echoes booming in their ears and out the cave for many long moments before fading away.
Everyone froze as the chilling sound clawed away at their resolve, and no one moved until it passed. Romero was the first to react, striding angrily forward until he was within arm's reach of Leah.
"Ves?" he asked, too enraged to bother translating his words into English. He grabbed the shorter state and hauled her up by the collar of her shirt so that her feet were dangling a few inches above the ground. "Así es porque te avisamos! Now you've woken up the chimeras and potentially endangered the entire Estados Unidos! Vaya, y la próxima vez, me oye!"
With that, Venezuela retreated to the mouth of the cave and, planting himself there, leaned back and literally threw Massachusetts out. She flew quite a few meters before colliding with the sand, thankfully remembering to tuck and roll upon impact. As he turned around, the nation caught a glimpse of Luis and Elpis arriving not too far away. Not a moment too soon after he had thrown her out did Romero hear the ominous sound of heavy, clawed feet stomping toward Johnny. Fearing the worst, he ran back to Alabama, unsheathing his saber in one rapid motion even as the tall state cocked his shotgun, stopping beside him to face whatever it was that was coming their way.

Out of Caracas: Where did the forest come from? You two complain about my cave and plant a random forest within walking distance of salt water? No forest grows within 30 miles of any beach for precisely that reason, and no part of a chimera likes wooded areas (which chimera are we using anyways? The dragon variant is just as common as the Greek variant)--lions live in savannas; hosts live on mountains or farms, and snakes/dragons live in caves. Add to the fact that the trees restrict its flight, and chimeras, according to modern myths, fly when fighting. Plus, cats and reptiles have good night vision and dragons in particular love to ambush prey from above or in darkness. If Elpis was found in the cave at the end of an undefined footprint trail, it stands to reason that some segment of the trail includes a scuffed-up portion where Elpis and/or the monster fought. The forest has no relevance to this story and puts any arriving states--at least five--in even more danger than fighting in the cave does. I'm gonna stay with the cave until this is worked out.

 ~The Yellow Hammer State~ "Johnny Kane" Johnny just gawked at what romero did." Dude! No need to throw her out on her butt like that!" Johnny complained.

He also noticed a whole bunch of footprints on the ground. Pawprints and hoofprints running all over the place. They weren't fresh, but it still freaked him out. "Uh let's stick with the others." he grabbed Elpis's hand and headed back with his friends "hey, wait up!"{ Translations: } (Out of Buenos Aires: I made it specific and said a group of trees, most likely a bit further from the sandy area. And since when do chimeras fly? All the pictures I've seen are shown wingless. You're probably thinking of a manticore. Chimeras don't really have a specific habitat, not in any of the mythology books I have, nor in any of the video games I played.)Argentine Republic

Try to scream but nobody cares ♫☽Elpis "Eek!" She squeaked when the boy pulled her back to the beach. Elpis didn't sense any danger at the moment, so they were safe, for now. So, she didn't understand why the boy was so panicky. Is he always like this? {Out of Faith: lighten up, it's just fantasy =w= you don't have to do heavy research on monsters. the point is to beat them! and I do think you're thinking of a manticore *gasp* got an idea. since we don't have any of those environments, it could come from one via a portal since a majority fo the monsters they faced come from them. Inside the portal is its habitat. Rules say the portals open only after dark, but there could be one within the dark cave. That can work? Don't ask where the portals come from, those are always a mystery xD} ♫ Through the glass you see the same faces

There aren't any enemies here. At least, not that I've seen any." he turned his attention over to the cave. he suddenly felt a cold chill in his spine, he gulped. He had a feeling he others wanted to check it out "Uh... You know what, guys? Why don't I stay here and keep an eye on her?" She puffed back over to Romero and slapped him across the face not caring who he was talking to or what He was doing. That was unnecessary you b*****d! she barred her green eyes at him. She could imagine the moment the beast would slash at her with his terrible claws. She wasn't like the higher gods, like Apollo and Athena, that are capable of fighting. She wished she could help them out, if those creatures aren't stop, they'll attack the people in the town. The one thing she could to to help her new friends is to bless their weapons, but her powers aren't completely restored. Could these people even stop them? Well, since they made up their minds, she might as well lead the way. She grabbed Luis Esteban's hand and gently pulled him to the cave. {Out of Faith:} ♫ Through the glass you see the same faces

Maybe he just rushed ahead, and beleived he could do it. Luis Esteban felt Elpis tug his hand and lead him to the cave "Ay por favor, no...." He bit his lip. He might as well suck it up and get this over with. Romero stood his ground as the heavy footsteps came closer and closer, not even turning around when Johnny did to find Luis and Elpis. He did, however, back up just a little bit to allow himself more light to aim with, should it come too soon to a fight.
Before he could so much as angle his sword defensively against the chimera, he felt himself being hauled down and slapped across the face by an angry Massachusetts. “Hey! That was unnecessary, you b*****d!” she hollered, glaring defiantly at him.
A vein rose in Venezuela’s temple, one that even that incompetent state probably could see. “Tu cabróna,” he hissed, “desafiando tus señores así.” This time when he hauled the state up, it was by her throat. “Qué tipo de idiota éres, running right back into the face of danger? Intento protegerte, culo. Next time, maybe I should just throw you to la quimera.” Striding forward again, Romero heaved and threw the state right back out of the cave, this time angling her like a javelin to make sure she flew as far away from the scene of immediate danger as he could possibly throw her.
When Luis, Johnny, and Elpis found him and interrupted his bloodlust with their inane words, Romero turned a deadly gaze on them, barely calming down when he recognized that they were not his targets. “No enemies here?” he growled. “Where were you two when Johnny and I heard that horrific roar? I swear, between estados esupidos y esto…”
His last angry sentence was cut off by another powerful roar. The Venezuelan smirked grimly when he saw Argentina quaking. “Si perdiste tus huevos, leave now,” he shouted over the din of thundering footsteps. “I’m taking this down, whether you’re with me or not!” He moved deeper into the cave, but slowly, to allow the others time to react and join him. A predatory smirk stretched across his face as he advanced. Romero hadn’t been so eager to fight in over a hundred years!

What was with him all of a sudden? That really hurt him. He wanted to cry, but instead, he his hands formed fists "Yo perdi nada! Now calm yourself down! We're supposed to be working together, not yelling or making fun at one another! Remember why we're doing this!" Luckily, he had a feeling they'd check the cave, so he pulled out a flashlight from his jacket pocket "Now, everyone stay close. No matter what happens, don't go wandering off." he turned on the light and headed inside with Elpis by his side 'Whoa.... I never yelled like that before.... Oh no, I yelled! Wah.....
