Allu padded out to locate his mate. The tribe was struggling and he was worried for his mate, not only that, worried for the small family they had wished to collect by the tribe. His tail swatted away brushes and branches, head dipping to avoid whip lash as he tracked her scent. It didn't take long for him to spot her, smiling lightly before freezing. He could smell Joou, yes, but also a strange scent heading fast for his mate.
"Ava." He slipped beside his sitting mate, leaning against her protectively, his tail flicking around her small form. His eyes harshly narrowed, puffing his chest out as the dominant male decided he'd frighten any threat away if he had to. His bracelets clicked together as he shifted, stern and tall. Rarely did the goofy male act in such a way, but it was a sign of his protective streak, as well as his dominance one. Either way, he wasn't about to let that strange scent harm his tribe or his mate.

As he came down the path with Joou that lead to the tree he saw what could only be his daughter wrapped up by another fox. It instantly angered him and made him want to thrash the other fox until the male was bleeding and on the ground. Joou had told him that Ava had a mate but to see the cocky looking youngster hold his daughter like that made Adrin have to fight for control with his instincts. His ire was clear in his muscle tone, but his face was calm and his movements graceful. If this male started anything then Adrin would put him in his place regardless of whether this was his daughter’s mate or not. He didn’t attack not wanting to hurt his daughter or upset his mate. He just approached and sat down a small ways away from the pair not sure how to start this conversation. He wanted to talk to his daughter with only Joou present this painfully bright male was just in the way.

Ava didn't know who the male was but could feel the tension in the air. She really didn't like aggressiveness and this caused her to shiver and brush her head under Allu's chin. It was a comforting gesture for her. Obviously the male had to be some what trusted for her mother to bring him her. With that in mind she tapped Allu's side with her tail trying to tell him to keep calm and level headed until the figured out what was going on. She took a deep breath and slid out from Allu running her tail along him and stood out in front. "Mother whats going on? Who is he?" she asked her voice full of wonder and uneasiness. Her eyes held confusion.
Joou seen how Allu got all protective over Ava and let out a chuckle. That boy what was she going to do with him? Their mother-in-law/son-in-law relationship had gotten much better since they first meet. She gave him a smile that she hoped would help easy things. "What no hello for your mother in law Allu?" she asked in a teasing manner. She looked at Adrin and could read his body signs like no other. She gave a soft glare and smacked him with her tell slightly as she walked forward to great her daughter. It was to inform him that she wanted him to be on his best behavior and to not have her regrate bringing him. She made sure to make eye contact with him just in case. She than licked her baby girl's cheek and rubbed against her before sitting down. She took in a deep breath and let it out. "Ava that would be your father. Adrin this is Ava and her loving mate Allu."

Allu noticed the man acting hostile, viewing him quietly. His mate brushing her head under his chin sent a relaxing shiver down his spine, returning the gesture to calm her. When she moved away he watched her, concerned, however turned to smirk playfully at Joou.
"I'm sorry. I didn't see you until just now." He nodded respectfully towards Joou, a genuine smile on his features. "Hello, Joou."
He waited as Joou began to continue speaking, freezing suddenly. Without even thinking he moved towards Ava, giving her the support he know she would need. His tail wrapped around hers, anger flicking in his heart, though he bit it back. So it was he, the man that had abandoned Joou and Ava. Hrm.

The fact that his daughter sought out comfort from the male that Ardrin didn’t know bothered him. What was worse was that she hadn’t recognized him. Surely their similarities in their coats would have been some indication. He watched as Allu wrapped around his daughter more and Ardin could see the anger in the males eyes. He calmly stared back. Was he angry yes, was it at anyone in particular no. He was angry at himself for being gone, angry at Allu for being a stranger and acting like he was toward him, Ava’s own father. Most of all he was angry at whatever modeity had allowed for this whole mess to happen. Taking a deep breath he forced himself to relax. He didn’t want to make Joou mad. She clearly didn’t think this Allu was a threat so why should Ardrin be ready to rip the younger males throat out? He was but that was beside the point. “I know this must be difficult for you Ava.” For her? Yes it would difficult for him, it felt like impossible.
(He's trying -.- )

Ava didn't know what to do. She kind of sat there in shock. On one side she was happy for she finally got to meet him and Allu did to. She had remembered that he had mentioned it when they first meet. But on the other side... there was all that wonder and hurt and the memories of her mothers pain. She was glad Allu was by her side. It helped her even if all he was doing was holding her tail with his. She leaned against him and let out a small sound of distraught. What was she supposed to do or say? She had no clue. Finally she said what she knew which was nothing. "I...I don't know what to say or how to respond to you." There she was honest and her voice was kind. But she really had no clue. "I am sorry..." she trailed off this was all so sudden. " What's going to happen now?" As elder she had to know what was going on but for their family's sake she needed to know as well.
Joou smiled at Allu's teasing but didn't comment back because she knew the news was going to hit everyone pretty hard. Her mind even hadn't completely wrapped around it. Her tail brushed against Adrin's paw in a comforting and thankful gesture. These boys were so much a like it was almost scary and dangerous. She spoke to Ava to try and help reassure her. "Nothing has been decided yet my dear... we will all have plenty of time to talk about it. " She hesitated. Did she tell Ava now of the fate of her sister Prye or did she wait for another time.... she really didn't want to throw to much at her at once.
(yes he is. )

Allu didn't move, though, suddenly, he choose to ignore Ardin and focus on his mate and mother-in-law. He felt his mate lean on him and release a sound, attempting to comfort by licking her cheek before focusing on Joou. He nodded when Ava asked what was to happen, the elder's mate equally concerned. Sure, a part of him was happy his mate found her father, but at the same time he was pissed. This male had come from nowhere after abandoning her and creating pain for the women he was supposed to love.
As Ava's mate, Allu could not just accept this change without worrying for his mate and mother-in-law. He was worried this male, this stupid, idiotic male would hurt them again, and Allu didn't want to see his mate hurt again.

This was so painful not only for him but his daughter and mate as well. He didn’t care about the other male and didn’t even want him around. He drew comfort from Joou’s touch it was a soft unspoken reminder to him of how important a mate around in a situation like this could be. He conceded mentally to Allu’s presence here even if he didn’t like the male. Wondering what was going to happen himself he didn’t have an answer for Ava. Seeing Joou’s hesitation he figured he knew what it was about. He wasn’t even certain he could bring it up himself. The reason he had been gone so long looking for Prye and failing. He looked to the ground near Joou. A part of him wished himself dead so he wouldn’t have to live through this moment. Maybe he never should have come back? No he would rather die than be parted with Joou, the years had been so painful without her. Lifting a paw he moved and rubbed it up and down Joou’s back. “I’m afraid this won’t get easier.” He paused his mind grasping for words to keep going.

Ava watched her mother cautiously. Something wasn't right. What was it?!?! They weren't saying something. Ava let out a distressed whine and looked back at Allu. Did he see it to? Was it just her? Her voice sounded small like a kit talking to its mother when she asked her mother something. "Momma what's he talking about? What wrong?"
Joou was looking at the ground. She let Adrin rub her back. It helped and yet it didn't. "We...I...He.... there is something that needs to be told... Your father... Prye...they arent together...lost...." Joou's words were almost in coherent. She didn't know where to start or what all to say... but she did get the main points out or so she thought.

The second he heard those words leave Joou's lips he almost shot a filthy glare at Ardin, stopping himself, barely. Instead, the bright male's spine twitched, fur standing on end as he began to show signs of aggression and protectiveness. The whine from his mate hadn't helped at all, the male's eyes softening and then becoming a fierce green as he pressed into Ava, curling his side around her and bringing his tail completely around her, making a circle. It was his way of attempting to lighten the news, and not only that, control the anger that was building.
This male had not only left Joou and Ava, but lost Ava's sister? And here he was, rubbing Joou's back. That also almost sent him over the edge, so close to going for the males throat. He wanted to snarl, wanted to send the male off and console the women. He wanted to beat the male senseless. No. His mate would hate that, wouldn't she? She'd be angry with him, right? That was the only thing stopping him.

Guilt riddled at him, his daughter’s mate angered him. Right now all Ardin wanted to do was to rip the little s**t’s throat out and leave all this pain behind. Why had he come back to deal with all of this hurt and rejection? Was it even worth it? He had searched the land and looked for Prye until he was more than half starved and weakened. He had nearly died several times when he ventured into more dangerous areas alone to try and find his lost girl. He knew coming back would be painful but this was enough to make most foxes break. He stayed close to Joou and considered why he was staying and enduring this. One glance at his mate and he knew. He could never leave her.

Ava hide her face into Allu's neck as he curled himself around her. She held her breath to not cry. No she couldn't do that here it wouldn't help anything... though later.. yes later when it was just Allu and her she would let it all out. Right now she had to be strong, she had to be the elder, she had to do what was right. She took a deep breath and rubbed her face against Allu's before pulling away to address her parents. " I see... " She glanced at the sky and could tell night would be on them soon. " I think we should call it an evening for tonight. This is hard and painful things that need to be discussed but not all at once. I purpose we head off to do our own thing and make beds and maybe talk again in a few days. " she looked at her mother "Maybe take him to one of the vacant caves in the mountain for the night?"
Joou watched as her daughter took control of the situation just as she had spent many days teaching her and she couldn't have been prouder. She didn't have anything to add and felt that things were covered enough. She gave a nod of her head and turned to leave before glancing back at Adrin.

Allu glanced at Ava, nodding gently at her words and viewing Joou. Only Joou. "If you require anything, anything, please do come find us." Allu mused, turning to nuzzle Ava's cheek gently, perhaps a little proud himself of his mate. He loved listening to when she spoke this way, confident of herself and her power. While he loved her being his princess he also loved the Elder side of her, and this made him proud. Prouder than anything.
His tail flicked around her lower half, head resting on hers briefly. With this brief action of affection he rose, moving slightly to the left and glancing at Ava, waiting for her to follow with him.

Adrin kept his face impassive even if his heart had just been put through a ringer. He wished he could talk more but a part of him understood. Ava and he were strangers and she was protecting her tribe. He was proud of her for that. Seeing Joou leaving he got up and followed without comment. He couldn’t say anything more to her and he didn’t need to deal with the d*** boy’s snubbing. Any comment would only insight more and he didn’t want to worry his daughter or Joou. Angry and yet strangely empty he wondered if he would last the next few days. The caves would be close enough for him to hopefully catch some time alone with Ava. He would have to tell Ava more details of what had happened. She would want to know what happened to her sister. Her ‘mate’ would be a nescience and blame Adrin’s failure and try to drive him away. Adrin was sure of it. He wouldn’t leave willingly though. He had been too long from his mate and Ava. If the male killed him so be it, but Adrin wasn’t going to lose anyone again. So catching his daughter alone would be the only way to safely get things out. Until then though he hoped that perhaps he would be lucky enough to remember the way to Joou’s den. He didn’t’ want to be apart again. Even if she made him sleep outside the cave at least he would be near her.

Ava stood there a moment longer before calling out "Good night mother," She paused and then continued "Good night father." She had said it though it felt weird. The word seemed foreign on her tongue. Weather he had been good or bad he was still her father and she knew that. She than turned and nudged Allu and they headed off to go do their own thing. Which meant finding a quite place and Ava absorbing the comfort Allu offered and just being close.
Joou nodded her head to Allu showing that she understood but other than that didn't comment further. She was sure he would understand and if he didn't they would get it worked out later. "Night sweetie," She called to Ava as she watched her form retreat into the darkness. She than turned and started walking towards her sleeping area. The night's silence was starting to creep in and yet she was fine with it at that moment. She knew Adrin would follow her so she didn't have to look back or say anything to him....well at least not yet.
