'Why can't I seriously tell him how I feel,' Jasmine wondered as she made her way out to her bike. She honestly knew he did not understand her reasons for the things she did. Suddenly the world around her tilted and she lost her footing on the stairs.

Neil was close enough to see her lose her footing and managed to keep her from falling down the stairs as he grabbed her shoulders to keep her from falling. He asked "Will you be able to drive safely?"

Jasmine blinked. "I'll be fine," she said quietly. "Thanks for keeping me from falling. My own fault I'm in this condition. I just can't help myself though."

"Maybe next time you could avoid it, or remember that we have a job that we need to do." Neil said as he made sure she wouldn't fall down the last few steps.

"If I had not done what I did that man would have...done things to one of the women there," Jasmine said quietly. "I prevented it this time though he almost..." She shuddered and Avarice whined.

"Okay" Neil said as he came around to her side. He asked "Are you sure you can drive? I want to make sure you won't hit something or someone." He waited for her answer.

"Can you really be that dense," Jasmine asked, turning to face him. "The man was going to...violate...me Neil!" She shook her head. "I can drive if you're really that concerned."

Neil looked at her a moment as what she said processed in his mind before saying "I assume you was referring to someone else. The only thing thing that implies that you were in trouble is the fact that you got beat up and the blood on your clothes from last night."

"Oh so you believe I'd go down without a fight," Jasmine asked coldly. "I fought him first but lost as you can tell." She turned away from him. 'He doesn't seem to care,' she thought weakly. 'I should just give up...'

"Jasmine, I assume that you got beat up some before you kick theirs buts." Neil told her quietly as he thought about what she was saying. He asked quietly trying to find the words to ask the question "Are you trying to tell me that...you..where violated?" He hoped that the answer would be no but he wasn't sure what the answer would be. He knew that the concern he was feeling would no doubt showing on his face, if someone were to pay attention to it.

Jasmine turned back to him. "Cops showed before he could but it was very close Neil," she said quietly. "If the cops hadn't been called..."

Neil felt his shoulders fall down some as the tense in them lessen. He looked at her a moment before saying "You should have just called the cops in the first place. Learn to chose your fights a little more carefully...." He thought about saying more but he stopped and looked at her a moment more before turning his eyes away.

"Anyway" Neil said as he tried to move onto a different subject. "How about we don't keep them waiting for to much longer?" he asked as he slowly pulled his eyes back to her.
