Shadowclan Senior Warrior & Medicine CatxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxApprentice: N/A

Longfur purred a little as he felt Songbird lick his cheek. He shifted in the nest to get a little more comfortable before he heard the commotion out of the den, he didn't want to leave Songbird's side as he looked at her, he meowed. "I wouldn't have it any other way. Rest now, for me at least." He said as he laid his head on her back purring in comfort to the she-cat.

Nightraven rushed into camp looking for Firepaw, once she spotted the fluffy she-cat she looked at her. She sighed as she looked at the she-cats battered tail. She licked Firepaw inbetween the ears and spoke softly. "come with me to my den." She meowed as she let Firepaw lean on her shoulder for support. "Than I can try and save your tail." She purred in comfort to Firepaw, hoping that she could save her tail.

Lightningstrider's Apprentice

Firepaw listened to Lightningstrider this time. Standing alone as the deputy ran to find Nightraven she could see the many eyes looking at her from the clan. She assumed they all thought the same thing. "The lousy apprentice got hurt of course." She lowered her head so that her eyes would not meet theirs. She wasn't ashamed of her actions, but was more embarrassed of all the looks she had been receiving. She tried to move her tail to look at it, but the upper half ached with every attempt.

The she-cat thought back to Spiderfang and Stormhawk...she couldn't imagine what they thought of her now. She was sure they thought she was brainless and careless for saving the loner, but how could they sleep knowing they were going to just let a cat who meant no harm to them die...especially by an attack from one of the monsters. None of it mattered though. Firepaw knew she secretly made Lightningstrider proud, and for once she felt like she did something right. Maybe being a warrior wasn't about the fight...possibly...it had had a deeper meaning.

When Lightningstrider and Nightraven returned Firepaw felt a sense of relief. She was going to be able to escape the mocking eyes that watched her. "Thank you...Lightningstrider," she spoke while following Nightraven back to the den. Firepaw didn't lean on Nightraven as much as they thought the apprentice would need to, after all she was able to walk it was mainly her tail at was injured. Firepaw's mind was still stuck back on the thoughts of the apprentice who ran over to the loner. There was something about him.

When they entered the den the young she-cat looked at Nightraven curiously, "I don't think it can be fixed," she said. Although, what did the apprentice know about medicine? Nothing, that's what she knew. Firepaw was just fighting herself internally. Though. Lightningstrider's words still clung to her. The Starclan would be proud. Finally, she made a few proud of her.

Lightningstrider padded back into the camp and saw Firepaw being led into
the medicine cat den by Nightraven. With a small sigh of relief, she walked
over to the den and poked her head in to check on Firepaw quietly before she
made herself comfortable a little ways away from the den. She had hunted
and went on patrol today, and the black she-cat needed a bit of a rest before
she did anything else. Waiting for Stormhawk and Spiderfang's return was an
easy thing to do since Firepaw was now safe and being looked after.

After hunting for quite a while, and being successful in his catches, RedClaw was very much tired. As he trotted into camp from the south, and then he slowed down his pace. He began then padded past the medicine cat den, and finally into the Warriors' den. He then went to the farthest end of the den, where his nest was located. He then lied down on it, and slowly drifted to sleep.

LOCATION: Thunderpath >> Shadowclan camp
COMPANY: Lightningstrider, Firepaw, Spiderfang?
OOC: xx

Stormhawk walked through the entrance of the camp along with Spiderfang, after they finished marking the borders. They hadn’t managed to get any hunting in, since the event with the loner jumping in front of the Thunderpath added to Firepaw’s (idiotic, may he add) “self sacrifice” probably shook them both up a little. Spiderfang had been rather quiet on their way back, as if she could not believe her eyes. Stormhawk, on the other hand, was halfway between wanting to clobber Firepaw’s ears for being such a selfless idiot and sympathising for her. in the battle between these two feelings, he chose to stay silent.

The moment they set foot into camp, Stormhawk made his way straight to the medicine cat’s den. Of course usually he won’t care, but this was an apprentice who had her tail run over by a monster...he had to at least see if she had passed out from shock or from blood loss. The large tom poked his head through the medicine cat den entrance, glancing at the apprentice’s tail for a second before shifting his gaze back to her face. Although he was being nice and checking on the injured apprentice, there was no sign of any sympathy or that he even cared on his scarred face. ”How’s the tail?” He asked gruffly, as if it was a question he was obliged to ask rather than truly coming from his heart. ”What you did today was stupid and reckless. You think anyone would be proud of you saving a loner’s worthless hide?” It was the complete opposite from what Lightningstrider had said to her apprentice, and obviously Stormhawk had very different opinions about this. ”That loner wanted to die, you saw him leaping in front of the monster. You’d have done him a favour leaving him to rot, at least then his wish would have been granted.” Not only did she now go against a loner’s dying wish, but she had broken her tail and likely never able to climb trees again. A cat without a tail cannot balance properly, which meant that her chances of becoming a good fighter had just decreased. And for what? All that for the sake of a stinking togue.

How fickle my heart and how woozy my eyes
XXXXXXXI struggle to find any truth in your liesXXXXXXX

- Back from the border- She sounds so stiff crying Couldn't think of simpler words so I just went all persuasive essay on her talking-

Spiderfang shambled into camp with a steadily deepening scowl on her muzzle. Thinking the incident over on the way back had left her with an enormous urge to clock Firepaw across the head and rake a sharpened, unsheathed paw across that rogue's side. Oh, she hoped he had broken something, a rib or a crack in the skull that would leave him even worse off in the head than he was before. Just think of it as a little repercussion from his own idiocy and the pain he caused to others because of it. Even if the 'others' involved were slightly warped in the head as well.
The scowl darkened a shade as Stormhawk made a bee-line for the medicine cat's den, leaving her to trail at the same shambling pace behind him. She didn't bother to try and conjure up something to say to the apprentice as she made her way there and stepped in, fully expecting that she was going to get enough of a bashing from the old tom in front of her. Poking her head into the den in time to hear a beginning of the tom's scolding, her eyes sparked in momentary amusement at her entirely accurate prediction. Was she getting a special power from Starclan, or was Stormhawk always that easy to read in the beginning? She twitched her whiskers in full approval that it was the latter.
Coming in further to witness the wound for herself, Spiderfang gave a small hiss of disgust. The awkward angles of Firepaw's tail and the numbing, metallic scent of blood that drifted up from it in waves made her consciously flick her tail and curl it protectively near her body. Too distracted to care about the conversation until now, Spiderfang perked her ears to catch the last snippet of Stormhawks protest in earnest. "I'd think the Thunderpath smelled bad enough without the scent of a rotting rogue to accompany it." She said in a light tone, glancing at Stormhawk before swing her gaze back to land on Firepaw. "That is the only thing I can't condone from your actions."
Giving a clipped nod of obvious farewell that showed nothing but mutual feelings, Spiderfang quickly backed out from the stuffy den and into the clearing. Breathing in deep to clear the clinging scent of herbs and blood, she shuffled to original post at the beginning of the day and slumped down onto the ground gratefully. She glanced hungrily at the fresh-kill pile but shook her head of the idea. She was supposed to gather kill for the clan, then eat, and she regretted not having of hunted on the way back. A patrol will probably go out again later, she figured, laying her head on her paws. She'd hunt and be able to eat then.

Lightningstrider's Apprentice

Firepaw knew she couldn't avoid it. The judgemental remarks from the bitter clan-mates arrived in a lump sum. She lowered her ears in anger and hissed at them. "My tail is of no concern to you. If you have come just to judge my actions, then I truly believe you have no intention of truly caring about my well being," she started off. This time Stormhawk crossed a wrong path with the apprentice. "And for another thing. I don't believe that he wanted to die. And I do believe others are proud of my act! It may have been stupid and reckless, but unlike you. I would not sleep well knowing the cat was killed when there was something I could've done to stop it," she told him now up in his face. Firepaw felt nothing but rage at this point. Spiderfang's comment went unnoticed to her, right now this was between an old tom that did nothing but pry at her mental state. "And he is not worthless! The one who is worthless is you, Stormhawk! To think so low of another cat just because they do not follow your beliefs or live in our clan! It's cats like you that make everyone look bad!" she screamed.

Her paw raised with her claws exposed and swiped across his face. She hissed again and walked out, "Being in the same area of you makes me sick!" she screamed again before exiting the den. Her tail was still bloody and mangled, but now she didn't care. In a fluster she strode past her mentor and walked out of the clan's camp. She was done with the judgmental remarks everyone had about her. Firepaw did not feel better nor worse after swatting Stormhawk, she just felt pain and aggravation. Her tail ached as she moved through the brush, but what else was there to do? She had already lost her temper enough...

Lightningstrider narrowed her eyes as Stormhawk and Spiderfang entered the
medicine cat den when they had no right to be in there and berate her
apprentice. She followed Spiderfang with her golden eyes as the other she-
cat left the den. When Stormhawk lingered, Lightningstrider got up.

She walked towards Stormhawk, but was interrupted as Firepaw swiped at
Stormhawk's face and left rashly. "Firepaw, wait," she said, but sighed as
the apprentice ran off without Nightraven being able to look at her tail
thoroughly. She hissed at Stormcloak and narrowed her golden eyes in
warning before she shook her head and took off after her apprentice.

Stormhawk had expected the apprentice to rant about how righteous she had been in saving a cat’s life, or how wrong he was in not caring, but he never expected her to get so worked up about it. He took an involuntary step backwards when the apprentice started shoving her face against his, seething with rage. Why should she be the one to be angry?! Shouldn’t the roles be reversed? An apprentice had no right to speak like that to a warrior, much less yell in his face! ”You don’t believe he wanted to die? For Starclan’s sake he literally walked right in front of a monster! If you don’t call that suicide, I don’t know what to call it.” He hissed back into her face, but she was obviously too far gone to hear him. His eyes narrowed slightly in anger when she called him worthless, and he was just about to throw back a retort...when suddenly thorn-sharp claws raked across his face. Stormhawk was so surprised at the unexpected scratch that he didn’t even retaliate or draw back. He had a stunned expression on his face, and his mouth was open in a small shocked “o” when Firepaw walked out of the medicine cat’s den. He spun around just in time to hear the apprentice yowl her last few words at him, claiming that merely by being in the same area as him made her sick. When the apprentice walked out with her broken tail high in the air, Stormhawk could only stare after her in undisguised shock, still stunned from the unexpected blow. Apprentices were already bad enough, but Firepaw had to be the worst of them all. He shook his head and his expression returned to his usual grumpy, stony expression, and he made his way back to the warrior’s den without a word to anyone else. A few cats sniggered at the newly acquired claw marks across his face, the line of missing fur very evident on his already scarred features. Stormhawk shot them all a stony glare, silently warning them that if they didn’t shut up, he would slowly rip their ears off. The cats fell silent immediately, no doubt knowing that the grumpy warrior would carry out his silent threat without fail. As Stormhawk curled up in his nest, waiting in vain for sleep that refused to come, he flicked out his tongue to lick his paw and rub against his sore face. Apprentices! He grumbled to himself while rubbing his sore scratch marks.

Firepaw returned with more confidence than before. She could see the grumpy tom trying to sleep away whatever emotions he was feeling. She hissed at him as she strode past. Making her way back the medicine cat den she reentered and apologized for being so hostile in Nightraven's den. She sat back down and sighed, "I'll be sure to not let that happen again. I just couldn't take his attitude anymore," she explained.

The apprentice sat down in silence while waiting for her tail to be examined. Whatever the outcome may be, she could handle it. After all she could hold her own against Stormhawk, she could handle a little pain.

Lightningstrider entered camp slowly and checked that Firepaw had gone
back to the medicine cat den before she walked over to Stormhawk in the
warrior den and glanced over his small wounds inflicted by Firepaw. "You
know,"
she said, sitting a little ways away from him, "Your confrontation
should have taken place after she was looked after. Once you piece together
your broken pride, would you mind coming with me on a hunting patrol?"

She was going to ask Spiderfang as well, since she had both promised them
hunting at the border once they were finished marking the border. Might as
well use Stormhawk's anger in a productive way instead of sulking in the den.

Longfur's ears pricked as he watched his cousin guide the apprentice in. Her tail was injured and he sighed as he watched Stormhawk and Firepaw's argument. He sighed.

Nightraven hissed as she watched Stormhawk as Firepaw rushed out of camp. She hissed at the Tom. "You should learn to listen to the Warrior Code. Doesn't it say about showing others compassion?" She meowed as she spotted Firepaw coming back into camp with her mentor. She grabbed a poppy seed head and some cobwebs to stop the bleeding of he she-cats tail. She shook her head as she dropped two poppy seeds in front of her. "Eat those, they'll make you sleep but the pain will go away." She meowed kindly as she looked at the pretty apprentice. Her gaze rested on Stormhawk. "You are to not leave camp until I look at your face." She meowed calmly even though she was mad. Turning her attention back to Firepaw, waiting for her to eat the poppy seeds.

Lightningstrider's Apprentice

The poppy seed sat in front of the young she-cat and Firepaw felt reluctant to eat it. She didn't want to sleep, the pain wasn't bothering her that much. She groaned while looking at the seeds a bit longer, "Must I? The pain isn't that severe," she explained to Nightraven. Her green eyes looked back to her tattered tail and she felt sick; not from the gruesome sight but the idea of how much worse the lone tom must've been. While she was here getting medical treatment she had no idea if he was alright...if he made it. She hoped he was going to make it at least. The Windclan apprentice and the others seemed have taken the loner into their paws for the time being. Knowing that much helped ease her mind a little.

Firepaw played with the seeds a little patting them back and forth between her paws. Debating if she'd even take them. Feeling Nightraven's eyes on her Firepaw decided she caused enough trouble for the time being. "Thank you," Firepaw whispered before chewing the seeds. The she-cat didn't exactly like the taste of the Earthy seeds, in fact she was half temped to spit them out. The apprentice had enough will power to fight that urge though. Swallowing the seeds she could almost immediately feel the effects setting in. The den appeared to be moving and she felt nauseous, closing her eyes with in moments the she-cat was unconscious.

It was dark. The sky now wore it's blanket of black and there wasn't a star to be seen. Letting out a desperate cry, Firepaw ran through the thick brush as if she was trying to escape something. Her paws hit the ground with rhythmic thuds. The smell of iron met her nose, turning to the scent she saw her tail drenched in blood. "No!" she screamed. While in the lost dash to an uncharted place Firepaw could see a familiar figure running further a head of her. Her emerald green eyes focused on the figure trying to recognize who it was. The cat turned to expose his bright yellow-green eyes, Stormhawk. Normally, that'd be the last cat Firepaw would run to, but she was scared and lost...but he was there. She called out to him, but he didn't hear her...or maybe he did but just chose to ignore her cries. She began to run faster not noticing the root of a large tree was sticking out of the ground. Tripping she fell forward. The sound of a herd was behind her and nearing closer.

She closed her eyes assuming this would be her end when a meow was let out from above her. Firepaw looked up to see the Windclan apprentice standing in the trees. He motioned for her to follow him. Scrambling to her fours she stagger behind disoriented. Tripping over and over he just continued to flee. Stormhawk returned in her sight, but now he was next to her...helping her. Refusing his help several times before the fear kicked in. She buried her head against him and quivered. "The world is black," the voice of the lone tom called out. Stormhawk hissed at the sound, but the loner was no where to be seen. It was finally Lightningstrider's words of comfort that eased Firepaw against the older tom. "It doesn't end like this, Firepaw."

Firepaw finally settled down next to Stormhawk and the Windclan apprentice returned laying near them as well. "You're safe," the lone tom's voice called out. This time though, none of the cats hissed at the tom's voice. They all rested.

LOCATION: Warrior’s den

OOC: Sorry, had to alter Nightraven’s actions slightly so this would flow better, I hope it’s alright.

Stormhawk never noticed Firepaw returning to camp, as the warrior’s den was a small distance away from the medicine cat’s den and he was lying with his back to the entrance. He hardly even noticed when Lightningstrider strode (pun intended) towards him, and only looked up when she sat a small distance away from him. His eyes narrowed and his ears flattened slightly, more out of bruised pride than actual annoyance at the deputy. ”It wasn’t a confrontation, I was just telling her that it was a stupid, useless thing to have done.” The tom growled as he ran another paw through his newly acquired scratches. They weren’t deep, and weren’t bleeding, but they still stung. Darn that apprentice, making him look stupid like this! Hearing the deputy ask him on a hunting patrol, Stormhawk grudgingly climbed to his paws and shook the moss out of his fur, nodding a silent yes to the offer of a hunting patrol.

Right as he stepped out, the medicine cat Nightraven approached him, berating him about showing compassion. The scarred tom’s eyes hardened like pieces of flint, obviously not in the mood to have any one else looking down on him just because he disagreed with Firepaw. ”I went in and asked her how her tail was, so there’s your compassion.” He growled shortly, not in the mood to argue with anyone else, but the medicine cat refused to leave him alone. She insisted that he was not allowed to leave camp until his face was looked at, which he presumed was about the scratches that Firepaw gave him. ”My face is fine!” He snapped at the medicine cat, turning away dismissively. It wasn’t even bleeding, so why was she making such a big deal out of it? Plus, if the other warriors in the clan found out that the medicine cat treated him because an apprentice smacked him, they would be taking the mickey out of him for Starclan knows how long.

Looking down at her paws Fireleaf sighs to herself. No one had noticed the small she-cat. After a while Fireleaf decides it would be best for her to probably go back to sleep since it looked like she wasn't needed at all. So without speaking a word to anyone, the small warrior goes into the warriors den and lays down in her nest. She noticed Redclaw was already in the den so she kept my mouth shut trying not to disturpe him since she could tell that he was completely exhusted.
